Jeremias 50
1 Ang pulong nga gisulti ni Jehova mahitungod sa Babilonia, ug mahitungod sa yuta sa mga Caldeahanon, pinaagi kang Jeremias nga manalagna.
Yahweh gave to [me, ] Jeremiah the prophet, a message about Babylon [city] and the country of Babylonia.
2 Ipahayag ninyo sa taliwala sa mga nasud ug imantala, ug magpatindog kamo ug usa ka bandila; imantala ug ayaw pagtagoa: ingna: Ang Babilonia naagaw na, ang Bel gipakaulawan, ang Merodak nalisang; ang iyang mga larawan gipakaulawan, ang iyang mga dios-dios nangalisang.
[This is what Yahweh says]: “Proclaim [DOU] [a message] among the nations; do not withhold any of it; raise up a signal flag to announce that Babylon will be captured. [Its chief god] Marduk, [whose other name is] Bel, will be completely disgraced, and all the [other] statues and idols will be shattered.
3 Kay gikan sa amihanan may migula nga usa ka nasud batok kaniya, nga magahimo sa iyang yuta nga biniyaan, ug walay mausa nga magapuyo didto: sila mangalagiw, sila manlakaw tawo ug mananap.
[The army of] a nation will come from the north to attack Babylon and destroy the city very thoroughly, [with the result that] no one will live there [again]. Both people and animals will run away.”
4 Niadtong mga adlawa, ug niadtong panahona, nagaingon si Jehova, ang mga anak sa Israel moanhi, sila ug ang mga anak sa Juda sa tingub; sila ug ang mga anak sa Juda sa tingub; managpanlakaw nga magahilak, ug mangita kang Jehova nga ilang Dios.
“But [I, ] Yahweh, say that in the future, when that is about to happen, the people of Israel and the people of Judah will join together. They will be weeping and wanting [to worship] me, their God.
5 Sila magpakisusi mahitungod sa Sion uban angilang mga nawong nga pinatumong didto, nga magaingon: Umari kamo, ug makigtipon kamo kang Jehova sa usa ka tugon nga walay katapusan nga dili hikalimtan.
They will inquire about the road to Jerusalem, [and then] they will start traveling [IDM] toward it. They will say [to each other], ‘We must return to Yahweh [again]!’ They will make an everlasting agreement with me that they will never forget.
6 Ang akong katawohan mao ang carnero nga nangawala: ang ilang mga magbalantay maoy nagpasalaag kanila; kini gipamuhian nila didto sa kabukiran: diin minglaag sila gikan sa bukid ngadto sa bungtod; sila nalimot sa ilang dapit nga pahulayan.
My people have been [like] [MET] lost sheep. Their [leaders/rulers] have caused them [to abandon me] like [MET] shepherds who have allowed their sheep to wander in the hills and mountains. [My people are like] [MET] sheep that do not know the path to return to the sheepfold.
7 Gitukob sila sa tanan nga nakakaplag kanila; ug ang ilang mga kabatok, nanag-ingon: Kami wala managpakasala kay sila nanagpakasala batok kang Jehova, ang puloy-anan sa pagkamatarung, bisan pa si Jehova, ang paglaum sa ilang mga amahan.
All their enemies who found them attacked them. They said, ‘We did not sin [by attacking them], because they sinned against Yahweh; he is the one who provides what they need; he is the one to whom they should have remained faithful; he is the one whom their ancestors confidently expected [to help them].’
8 Kumalagiw kamo gikan sa taliwala sa Babilonia, ug gumula kamo gikan sa yuta sa mga Caldeahanon, ug panig-ingon sa mga lakeng kanding sa atubangan sa mga panon.
[But now, I say to the leaders of my people], ‘Flee from Babylon! Leave the land of Babylonia! Be like [SIM] male goats [that go] in front of [the rest of] the flock; [lead my people back to their own land].
9 Kay, ania karon, agdahon ko ug paanhion ko batok sa Babilonia ang usa ka pundok sa mga dagkung nasud, gikan sa yuta sa amihanan; ug sila managlaray sa ilang kaugalingon batok kaniya; gikan diha siya magaw: ang ilang mga udyong mahimong ingon sa usa ka batid nga gamhang tawo; walay mahibalik nga makawang.
[Do that] because I am going to gather an army of great nations to the north [of Babylon]. They will join together to attack Babylon and will capture it. Their arrows will be like [SIM] skilled warriors that always hit what they aim at.
10 Ug ang Caldea mahimong tukbonon: matagbaw ang tanan nga motubkob kaniya, nagaingon si Jehova.
Babylonia will be conquered, and those who conquer it will take away everything they want. [That will surely happen because I, ] Yahweh, have said it.’”
11 Tungod kay kamo nangalipay, tungod kay kamo nanagmaya, Oh kamo nga maoy nanulis sa akong panulondon, tungod kay kamo mapatuyangon ingon sa usa ka vaca nga dumalaga nga nagatamak sa trigo, ug mobahihi ingon sa makusog nga mga kabayo;
“You people [of Babylon] who (plundered/stole everything valuable from) my chosen people, now you are very happy [DOU]. You run around joyfully like [SIM] a calf in a meadow, and are happy like [SIM] male horses are happy when they are neighing.
12 Ang imong inahan pagapakaulawan sa hilabihan gayud; kadtong magaanak kanimo pagalibogon: ania karon, siya mahimong labing iwit sa mga nasud, usa ka kamingawan, usa ka ugang yuta, ug usa ka yutang biniyaan.
But [soon] your people will be very disgraced [DOU] [as a result of being conquered]. Your country will be the most insignificant nation; it will be a desert, a dry and deserted land.
13 Tungod sa kaligutgut ni Jehova siya dili pagapuy-an, mahimo hinoon siya nga kamingawan nga hingpit: bisan kinsa nga moagi sa Babilonia mahitingala, ug magasitsit uban ang pagbiaybiay tungod sa tanan niyang mga hampak.
Because [I, ] Yahweh, am angry [with you people of Babylon], I will cause your city to become completely deserted. All who pass by will be horrified and will (gasp/be shocked) because of the destruction there.
14 Andama ang inyong kaugalingon batok sa Babilonia nga magalibut tanan kamo nga nagabusog sa pana; panaa ninyo siya, hutda ang mga udyong sa pana: kay siya nakasala batok kang Jehova.
[All you nations that surround Babylon, ] prepare to attack it! Tell your archers to shoot at their enemies; shoot all of your arrows at them [LIT], because [the people/leaders of Babylon have sinned against me, ] Yahweh.
15 Managsinggit kamo nga magalibut batok kaniya: siya mitugyan na sa iyang kaugalingon: ang iyang mga salipdanan nangapukan, ang iyang mga paril gipanagtumpag; kay kini mao ang panimalus ni Jehova: panimasli siya; ingon sa iyang nahimo, buhata kaniya.
Shout [war-cries] against Babylon from all sides [of the city]. [The soldiers of] Babylon will surrender; the towers and walls will be torn down. It is [I, ] Yahweh, who will be getting revenge [on the people of Babylon], [so help me to] get revenge. Do to [the people of] Babylon what they have done to others!
16 Laglaga ang mamumugas gikan sa Babilonia, ug kadtong nagakupot sa galab sa panahon sa ting-ani: tungod sa kahadlok sa madaugdaugong espada sila moliso ang tagsatagsa paingon sa iyang katawohan, ug sila manalagan ang tagsatagsa paingon sa iyang kaugalingong yuta.
Take away from Babylon those who plant [crops] and those who reap the harvests! Because of the swords carried by those who will attack [Babylon], [those people in Babylon who have come from other countries] should all run away, back to their own countries [DOU]!”
17 Ang Israel mao ang carnero nga ginaayam; gipatlaag siya sa mga leon: ang nahauna, gilamoy siya sa hari sa Asiria; ug karon sa katapusan gidugmok ang iyang mga bukog ni Nabucodonosor nga hari sa Babilonia.
“The Israeli [people] are [like] [MET] sheep that have been scattered by lions. First [the army of] the King of Assyria defeated them. Then [the army of] King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon smashed them.
18 Busa mao kini nga giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel: Ania karon, silotan ko ang hari sa Babilonia, ug ang iyang yuta, ingon sa akong pagsilot sa hari sa Asiria.
So this is what I, the Commander of the armies of angels, the God whom the Israeli people [worship], say: ‘Now I will punish the King of Babylon and the people of his land, like I punished the King of Assyria.
19 Ug dad-on ko pagbalik ang Israel ngadto sa iyang sibsibanan, ug siya magasibsib ibabaw sa Carmelo ug sa Basan, ug ang iyang kalag matagbaw ibabaw sa bukid sa Ephraim ug sa Galaad.
And I will bring the people of Israel back to their own land where they will eat [the food that grows] in the fields of the Carmel and Bashan [regions], and [the people in] the hilly areas of Ephraim and Gilead will have all they want to eat.
20 Niadtong mga adlawa, ug niadtong panahona, nagaingon si Jehova, ang kasal-anan sa Israel pagappangitaon, ug walay makita; ug ang mga sala sa Juda, ug kini dili hingkaplagan: kay pasayloon ko sila nga akong ibilin ingon nga salin.
At that time, there will not be people in Israel and in Judah who [are still guilty for having] sinned [DOU], because I will forgive the small group of people whom I enable to still be alive.’”
21 Tumungas ka batok sa yuta sa mga Merataimhon, bisan pa batok niini, ug batok sa mga pumoluyo sa Pekod: pamatyon mo sila ug laglagon mo gayud sila, nagaingon si Jehova; ug buhata sumala sa tanan nga gisugo ko kanimo.
“[So, I, Yahweh, say to the enemies of Babylonia, ]‘Attack [the people who live in] the Merathaim [region] and the people in the Pekod [region of Babylonia]. Pursue them, kill them, and completely get rid of them, as I have commanded you to do.
22 Ang dinaguok sa gubat ania sa yuta, ug sa dakung pagkalaglag.
Shout your battle cries throughout the land; shout [when you are causing] great destruction.
23 Naunsa nga ang pakang sa tibook nga yuta naputol man ug nabunggo! naunsa nga ang Babilonia, nahimong usa ka biniyaan sa taliwala sa mga nasud!
[The army of Babylon is like] [MET] the most powerful hammer on the earth, but it will be completely shattered. Babylon will be deserted among the [other] nations.’
24 Ako nagbutang ug usa ka lit-ag alang kanimo, ug ikaw usab hisakpan, Oh Babilonia, ug ikaw wala makaalingat: ikaw hikaplagan, ug ingon man usab hidakpan, tungod kay ikaw nakig-away batok kang Jehova.
You [people of] Babylon, [listen, ] [because] I have set a trap for you; you will be caught [in that trap], because you fought against me.
25 Gibuksan ni Jehova ang iyang tipiganan sa hinagiban, ug gipagula ang mga hinagiban sa iyang kapungot; kay ang Ginoo, si Jehova sa mga panon, may bulohaton nga tibawason sa yuta sa mga Caldeahanon.
[It is as though] I have opened the place where I store my weapons, and I have brought out [all] the weapons [to use against the people with whom] I am angry. [I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, have [a lot of] work to do [to punish] the people of Babylonia.
26 Umari kamo batok kaniya gikan sa kinatumyang utlanan; buksi ang iyang mga kamalig; isalibay siya ingon sa mga tinapok; isalibay siya ingon sa mga tinapok; ug laglaga siya sa hingpit: ayaw pagtugoti nga may mahibilin kaniya.
[So, you enemies of Babylonia, ] come from distant lands and attack it. Break open the places where they store the grain. Crush the walls of the city and the houses and pile up [the rubble like] [SIM] heaps of grain. Destroy everything; do not leave anything that is not destroyed.
27 Pamatya ang tanan niyang mga toro nga vaca: paadtoa sila sa ihawan: alaut sila! kay ang ialng adlaw miabut na, ang panahon sa pagdu-aw kanila.
Destroy all the [young men who are as strong as] [MET] bulls; take them to where you will slaughter them. It will be terrible for them, because it will be time for them to be punished.
28 Ang tingog niadtong nangalagiw ug nakagawas gikan sa yuta sa Babilonia, sa pagpahayag didto sa Sion sa panimalus ni Jehova nga atong Dios, ang pagpanimalus sa iyang templo.
Listen to the people who have fled and escaped from Babylon while they tell in Jerusalem how [I, ] Yahweh, have gotten revenge against those who destroyed my temple [in Jerusalem].
29 Tawga sa tingub ang mga magpapana batok sa Babilonia, silang tanan nga nanagbusog sa pana: magpahaluna kamo paglibut batok kaniya; ayaw pagpagawasa ang bisan kinsa niana: balusi siya sumala sa iyang mga buhat; sumala sa tanan nga iyang gibuhat, buhata kaniya; tungod kay nagarboso siya batok kang Jehova, batok sa Balaan sa Israel.
Summon archers [DOU] to come to attack Babylon; surround the city in order that no one will escape. Do to [the people of] Babylon what they have done to others [DOU], because they have defied [me, ] the Holy One of the Israeli [people].
30 Busa ang iang mga batan-ong lalake mangapukan sa iyang kadalanan, ug ang tanan niyang mga tawong iggugubat igahatud ngadto sa kahilum niadtong adlawa, nagaingon si Jehova.
The young men of Babylon will fall in the streets; all their soldiers will be killed in one day.
31 Ania karon, ako batok kanimo, Oh ikaw nga garboso kaayo, nagaingon ang Ginoo, si Jehova sa mga panon; kay miabut na ang imong adlaw, ang panahon sa akong pagdu-aw kanimo.
[I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, say this: ‘You arrogant/proud people, it is now the time; it is the time [DOU] when I will punish you.
32 Ug ang tawong garboso mahipangdol ug mapukan, ug walay magabangon kaniya; ug silaban ko sa kalayo ang iyang mga ciudad, ug kini magalamoy sa tanan nga nagalibut kaniya.
[Your land is full of] proud people, but you will stumble and fall, and no one will lift you up [again]. I will light a fire in the cities in Babylonia that will burn up everything that is nearby.’
33 Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon: Ang mga anak sa Israel ug ang mga anak sa Juda ginadaugdaug sa tingub; ug ang tanan nga nanagbihag kanila nagpugong sa hugot kanila; sila nanagdumili sa pagbuhi kanila.
[I], the Commander of the armies of angels, also say this: ‘The people of Israel and Judah were (oppressed/treated cruelly); those who captured them guarded them carefully and would not allow them to leave [Babylon].
34 Ang ilang Mamamawi kusganon man; si Jehova sa mga panon mao ang iyang ngalan: siya magalaban sa hingpit sa ilang katungod, aron siya makahatag pahulay sa yuta, ug kasamok sa mga pumoluyo sa Babilonia.
But I am strong, and I will free them. I am the Commander of the armies of angels; I will defend my people and enable them [to return to] their land where they will have peace, but the people of Babylonia will not have peace.
35 Ang espada anaa sa ibabaw sa mga Caldeahanon, nagaingon si Jehova, ug ibabaw sa mga pumoluyo sa Babilonia, ug ibabaw sa iyang mga principe, ug ibabaw sa iyang manggialamong mga tawo.
[I will send enemy soldiers carrying] swords [PRS] to strike the people of Babylonia; they will strike the officials and wise men and all the [other] people who live in Babylon.
36 Ang espada anaa sa ibabaw sa mga tawong andakan; ug sila mangabuang; ang usa ka espada anaa sa iyang kusganong mga tawo; ug sila pagalisangon.
They will strike their false prophets with swords and they will become foolish. They will strike the [strongest] warriors of Babylonia, and they will all be terrified.
37 Ang espada anaa sa ibabaw sa ilang mga kabayo, ug ibabaw sa ilang mga carro ug ibabaw sa tanang katawohan nga nagakasagol sa taliwala niya; ug sila mangahimong ingon sa mga babaye: ang espada anaa sa ibabaw sa iyang mga bahandi; ug sila pagatulison.
They will strike their horses and chariots and the foreigners who are in the army of Babylonia, and they will [all] become [as weak] as [MET] women. They will seize [MTY] all the valuable things there in Babylon and take them away.
38 Ang hulaw anaa sa ibabaw sa iyang katubigan, ug sila mahimong mamala; kay kini mao ang yuta sa mga larawan nga linilok, ug sila mangabuang sa ilang mga dios-dios.
[I] cause the streams to become dry. [I will do all those things] because the [entire] land [of Babylonia] is filled with idols, and those [horrible] idols have caused the people [who worship them] to become crazy.
39 Busa ang mga ihalas nga mananap sa kamingawan uban ang mga lobo managpuyo didto, ug ang mga avestrus mopuyo didto: ug kini dili na gayud pagapuy-an sa walay katapusan; ni pagapuy-an pa kini gikan sa kaliwatan hangtud sa kaliwatan.
[Soon only] hyenas and [other] wild creatures will live there; and it will be a place where owls live. People will never live there again; it will be uninhabited forever [DOU].
40 Ingon nga ang Sodoma ug Gomorra gigun-ob sa Dios ug ang iyang mga ciudad nga silingan, nagaingon si Jehova, sa mao nga pagkaagi walay tawo nga magapuyo didto, ni may anak sa tawo nga molangyaw didto.
[I will destroy Babylon] like I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and the nearby towns; no one will [ever] live there [again] [DOU].
41 Ania karon, ang usa ka katawohan mogula gikan sa amihanan; ug usa ka dakung nasud ug daghang mga hari, manindog gikan sa mga kinatumyang bahin sa yuta.
Look! A [great] army will come from the north. A great nation far away with many kings is preparing [to attack you people of Babylon].
42 Sila mogunit sa pana ug sa bangkaw; sila mabangis, ug dili magapakita ug kalooy; ang ilang tingog modaguok sama sa dagat, ug sila magatungtong sa mga kabayo, tagsatagsa magalaray alang sa gubat, ingon sa usa ka tawo ngadto sa gubat, batok kanimo, Oh anak nga babaye sa Babilonia.
Their [army] has bows [and arrows] and spears; they are [very] cruel, and do not act mercifully [to anyone]. [As] they ride along on [their] horses, the sound of the horses’ hooves is like [SIM] the roaring of the ocean [waves]; they are riding in battle formation to attack you, you people of Babylon.
43 Ang hari sa Babilonia nakadungog sa mga balita mahitungod kanila, ug ang iyang mga kamot nangaluya: ang kaguol maoy midakup kaniya, ug ang mga kaul-ol ingon sa usa ka babaye nga nagaanak.
The King of Babylon says, “[I] have heard reports about the enemy [approaching]; [so I am very frightened, with the result that] I am weak. I am [very fearful, and] anguished/worried, like [SIM] a woman who is about to give birth to a baby.”
44 Ania karon, ang kaaway motungha sama sa usa ka leon nga gikan sa garbo sa Jordan batok sa puloy-anan nga malig-on: kay sa kalit padalaganon ko sila gikan kaniya: ug bisan kinsa ang pilion, itudlo ko siya sa ibabaw niini: kay kinsa man ang sama kanako? ug kinsa ba ang magtudlo kanako sa panahon? ug kinsa ba ang magbalantay nga makatindog sa atubangan ko?
I, [Yahweh], will come to Babylon [suddenly] like a lion comes out of the jungle and [leaps on the sheep that are eating] the good pastureland. I will quickly chase the people of Babylonia from their land. And [then] I will appoint for them [a leader] whom I will choose; [I will do that] because there is no one [RHQ] like me who can say that what I have done is not right. No ruler can [RHQ] oppose me.
45 Busa pamati kamo sa tambag ni Jehova, nga iyang gitinguha batok sa Babilonia; ug ang iyang mga tuyo nga iyang gitinguha batok sa yuta sa mga Caldeahanon: Sa pagkamatuod pagaguyoron sila sa halayo, bisan pa ang mga magagmay sa panon; sa pagkamatuod buhaton niya nga biniyaan ang ilang puloy-anan uban kanila.
Listen to what I have planned to do to the people of Babylon [city] and the rest of Babylonia: [even] the little children will be dragged away, and I will completely destroy the people [MET] who live there.
46 Sa dinahunog sa pagkaagaw sa Babilonia ang yuta magalinog, ug ang pagsiyagit madungog sa taliwala sa mga nasud.
When Babylon is destroyed, the noise will be extremely loud, with the result that the earth will shake, and the wailing of the people will be heard by the [people of other] nations.’”
