Jeremias 48
1 Mahitungod sa Moab. Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon, ang Dios sa Israel: alaut ang Nebo! kay gilaglag kini; ang Chiryataim gipakaulawan, kini naagaw: ang Misgab gipakaulawan ug nagun-ob.
This is a message about Moab. The Commander of the armies of angels said: “Terrible things will happen to Nebo [town]; it will [soon] be ruined. Kiriathaim [city] will be captured and [all its people will be] humiliated; the high wall around their city will be ruined, and [its people] will become ashamed.
2 Wala na ang pagdayeg sa Moab: sa Hesbon nanaglalang sila ug dautan batok kaniya: Umari ka, ug putlon ta siya gikan sa pagkahimong usa ka nasud. Ingon man ikaw usab, Oh Madmen, pagapahilumon; ang espada magagukod kanimo.
No one will boast about Moab again; the [enemies of Moab] will plan to destroy [the capital city, ] Heshbon. [They will say, ] ‘Come, let’s cause Moab to no longer be a nation.’ You people in Madmen [town], you also will be silenced; enemy armies [MTY] will pursue you.
3 Ang tingog sa paghilak mogula gikan sa Horonaim, ang pagkabiniyaan ug dakung pagkalaglag.
Listen to the people of Horonaim [town] screaming; [they will be wailing because their town will have been] devastated and destroyed [DOU].
4 Ang Moab gilaglag; ang iyang mga magagmay nakapadungog sa usa ka paghilak.
[All of] Moab will be ruined; [even] the little children will cry [loudly].
5 Kay sa pagsaka sa Luhit uban ang paghilak nga dayon, mosaka sila: kay sa pagkanaug sa Horonaim nadungog nila ang kagul-anan sa paghilak sa pagkalaglag;
They will cry bitterly as they climb up Luhith [Hill]. [Others will wail] on the road down to Horonaim, being very sad because of [their town being] destroyed.
6 Kalagiw, luwasa ang inyong mga kinabuhi, ug manig-ingon kamo sa kakugnan sa kamingawan.
[Someone will say to them], ‘Flee! Hide in the desert!’
7 Tungod kay ikaw nagasalig sa imong mga buhat ug sa imong mga bahandi, pagakuhaon usab ikaw: ug ang Chemos pagabihagon, ang iyang mga sacerdote ug ang iyang mga principe sa tingub.
But you trusted that because you were rich and powerful, [you would be safe]; so you will be captured. [The statue of your god] Chemosh and all his priests and officials will be taken away to distant lands.
8 Ug ang maglalaglag moanhi batok sa tagsatagsa ka ciudad, ug walay ciudad nga makagawas; ang walog usab mawagtang, ug ang kapatagan pagalumpagon, ingon sa gipamulong ni Jehova.
All the towns [in Moab] will be destroyed; none of them will escape. [Towns in] the valleys and on the plateau will [all] be destroyed, because [I, ] Yahweh, have said that is what will happen.
9 Hatagi ug mga pako ang Moab, aron makalupad ug makakalagiw siya: ug ang iyang mga ciudad mahimong biniyaan, nga walay bisan kinsa nga magapuyo niini.
Spread salt on the ground in order that it will become a wasteland with [nothing growing there any more], and no one will be living in it!”
10 Tinunglo kadtong nagabuhat sa walay pagtagad sa bulohaton ni Jehova; ug tinunglo kadtong nagatipig sa iyang espada gikan sa dugo.
Yahweh will curse anyone who will not eagerly do what he desires, anyone who refrains from using his sword to kill [MTY] others [in Moab].
11 Ang Moab nagpuyo sa kasayon gikan pa sa iyang pagkabatan-on, ug siya nahimutang sa iyang mga lalug, ug wala gayud ikahuwad gikan sa usa ka sudlanan ngadto sa usa ka sudlanan, ni nabihag siya: busa ang iyang kahinam nagapabilin kaniya, ug ang iyang kaamyon wala mohupas.
[The people of] Moab have always felt secure; they have never been (exiled/forced [by their enemies] to go to other countries). They are like [MET] wine that has been left undisturbed [in a container for many days to give it good flavor], so now it smells good, and it tastes good.
12 Busa, ania karon, ang mga adlaw ming-abut na, nagaingon si Jehova, nga ipadala ko kaniya kadto sila nga mga maghuwad ug siya igahuwad nila, ug pagatitian nila ang iyang mga sudlanan, buk-on nila ang ilang mga botella.
But Yahweh says that there will be a time when he will send [enemies to attack them]; they will get rid of the people of Moab like people pour out wine [on the ground] and then smash the wine jar.
13 Ug ang Moab maulaw tungod sa Chemos, ingon nga ang balay sa Israel naulaw tungod sa Beth-el nga ilang sinaligan.
Then [the people of] Moab will be ashamed of [their god/idol] Chemosh [because it did not help them], like the Israeli people were ashamed because their gold statue of a calf [was smashed] at Bethel.
14 Unsaon ninyo pag-ingon: Kami mga tawo nga kusganon, ug mga tawong maisug alang sa gubat?
[The soldiers of Moab previously] said, “We are warriors; we have fought bravely in battles!”
15 Ang Moab gilaglag na, ug sila minglupad ngadto sa iyang mga ciudad, ngadto na sa ihawan, nagaingon ang Hari, kansang ngalan mao si Jehova sa mga panon.
But now our King, who is Yahweh, who is called ‘the Commander of the armies of angels’, says that [the country of] Moab and all the towns in it will be destroyed. Their fine young men will [all] be slaughtered.
16 Ang pagkaalaut sa Moab haduol na moabut, ug ang iyang kasakit nagadali gayud.
Moab will very soon be destroyed. It will soon experience disaster.
17 Kamong tanan nga nanaglibut kaniya managbakho kamo alang kaniya: ug kamong tanan nga nanghibalo sa iyang ngalan, manag-ingon kamo: giunsa pagbali ang malig-ong baston, ug ang maanindot nga sungkod!
You [people who live in nations] near Moab, who know that it is very famous, should mourn for Moab, and say, “Its glorious power [MTY, DOU] is [completely] ended/broken.”
18 Oh ikaw nga anak nga babaye nga nagapuyo sa Dibon, nanaug ka gikan sa imong himaya, ug lumingkod ka sa kauhaw; kay ang maglalaglag sa Moab ania na batok kanimo, siya naglumpag sa imong mga salipdanan.
You people of Dibon [city], stop being proud because of being honored, and sit in the dust/dirt, because those who will destroy other places in Moab will attack your [city] and destroy your high walls.
19 Oh pumoluyo sa Aroer, tindog sa daplin sa dalan, ug maglantaw; pangutan-a kadtong mikalagiw, ug siya nga nakagawas; ingna: Unsay nahimo?
You people of Aroer [town], stand along the road and watch. Shout to the men and women who will be fleeing [from Moab], “What has happened [there]?”
20 Ang Moab ginapakaulawan; kay nagun-ob kini; magminatay ka ug maghilak; isugilon ninyo kini pinaagi sa Arnon, nga ang Moab gilaglag na.
[They will reply], “Moab is ruined and [we are] disgraced!” [So] weep and wail [DOU]. Proclaim at the Aroer [River] that Moab has been destroyed.
21 Ug ang hukom miabut na sa yuta sa kapatagan, sa Holon ug sa Jaza, ug sa Mepaath,
[Yahweh] will have punished [the towns in Moab that are on] the (plateau/high level): Holon and Jahaz and Mephaath,
22 Ug sa Dibon, ug sa Nebo, ug sa Beth-diblataim,
Dibon and Nebo and Beth-Diblathaim,
23 Ug sa Chiryataim, ug sa Beth-gamul, ug sa Beth-meon,
Kiriathaim and Beth-Gamul and Beth-Meon,
24 Ug sa Chirioth, ug sa Bosra ug sa ibabaw sa tanang mga ciudad sa yuta sa Moab, halayo kun haduol.
Kerioth and Bozrah, cities that are near [each other] and towns that are far away [from each other].
25 Ang sungay sa Moab giputol na, ug ang iyang bukton gibunggo na, nagaingon si Jehova.
Yahweh says, “The power [MTY] of Moab will be ended; [it is as though] [MET] Moab will have a broken arm.
26 Hubgon ninyo siya; kaysiya nagpakadaku sa iyang kaugalingon batok kang Jehova: ang Moab magalunang sa iyang sinuka, ug siya usab mahamutang sa pagkayubitonon.
[You people of] Moab have rebelled against [me, ] Yahweh; so [now] I will cause you all to [stagger like] [SIM] drunken people. [You people of] will wallow in your own vomit and be ridiculed.
27 Kay wala ba ang Israel mahimong yubitonon mo? hikaplagan ba siya uban sa mga kawatan? kay sa makadaghan magasulti ka mahatungod kaniya, nagalingo-lingo ba sa ulo.
You [people of Moab] ridiculed [the people of] Israel [RHQ]. You treated them as though they were thieves [RHQ]. You shook your head at them scornfully and despised them [RHQ].
28 Oh kamo nga mga pumoluyo sa Moab, biyai ang mga ciudad, ug pumuyo kamo sa pangpang; ug panig-ingon sa salampati nga nagabuhat sa iyang salag sa kadaplinan sa baba sa kinahiladman.
You people who live in Moab, you should abandon your towns and go and live in caves. Be like [SIM] doves that make their nests in the entrances of caves.”
29 Kami nakadungog sa pagpagarbo sa Moab, nga siya palabilabihon yuamut, ang iyang pagkamapahitas-on, ug ang iyang garbo, ang iyang pagkatigpalabaw, ug ang pagkamapahitas-on sa iyang kasingkasing.
We have [all] heard that [the people of] are very proud; they are extremely proud and conceited/arrogant. [IDM, DOU]
30 Ako nahibalo sa iyang kaligutgut, nagaingon si Jehova, nga kana kawang lamang; ang iang mga pagpangandak walay kahimoan.
But Yahweh says, “I know about that, but it is useless for them to boast [because] it will accomplish nothing.
31 Busa ako magabakho tungod sa Moab, oo, ako magahilak alang sa tibook nga Moab: alang sa mga tawo sa Kir-heres sila managbalata.
So [now] I will wail for Moab; I will cry about all its people. I will moan for the men of Kir-Hareseth [city], [the old capital of Moab].
32 Oh balagon sa Sibma, ako mohilak alang kanimo uban ang paghilak nga labaw sa paghilak sa Jazer: ang imong mga sanga mikatay ibabaw sa dagat, sila miabut bisan hangtud sa dagat sa Jazer: ibabaw sa imong mga bunga sa ting-init ug sa imong kaparrasan, ang maglalaglag napukan.
You people of Sibmah [city], you have many vineyards. [It is as though] the branches of your vines extend across the [Dead] Sea to Jazer [city].
33 Ug ang kalipay ug ang kasadya giwagtang gikan sa mabungaon nga uma ug gikan sa yuta sa Moab; ug ginapahunong mo ang bino gikan sa mga giukan sa vino: wala nay magagiuk uban ang pagsinggit; ang ilang mga pagsinggit dili na pagsinggit.
But no one will be joyful or happy in Moab now; your fruit and grapes that ripen in the (summer/hot season) will soon be destroyed. There will be no grape juice coming from the winepresses, [so] there will be no wine. People will not shout joyfully as they tread on the grapes; people will shout, but they will not be shouting joyfully.
34 Gikan sa pagsinggit sa Hesbon bisan pa ngadto sa Eleale, ug bisan pa ngadto sa Jaaz sila nanagpagula sa ilang tingog, gikan sa Zoar bisan pa ngadto sa Horanaim, ngadto sa Eglathshelishiyah: kay ang katubigan usab sa Nimri mahimong biniyaan.
Instead, the sound of their wailing will rise from Heshbon [city] to Elealeh [town] and Jahaz [village], from Zoar [city] as far as Horonaim [town] and Eglath-Shelishiyah [village]. Even the water in Nimrim [Stream] will be dried up.
35 Labut pa pahunongon ko didto sa Moab, nagaingon si Jehova, siya nga nagahalad didto sa mga hatag-as nga dapit, ug siya nga nagasunog incienso alang sa iyang mga dios.
[I, ] Yahweh, say that I will get rid of the people who offer sacrifices on the hilltops, and burn incense to their gods.
36 Busa ang akong kasingkasing motingog alang sa Moab ingon sa mga flauta, ug ang akong kasingkasing motingog ingon sa mga flauta alang sa mga tawo sa Kir-heres: busa ang kadagaya nga iyang nakuha nahanaw.
I [SYN] moan for the people of Moab and Kir-Hareseth like [SIM] [someone playing a funeral song on] a flute, because [all] their wealth will disappear.
37 Kay ang tagsatagsa ka ulo naupaw, ug tanang bungot gikupkop: sa tanang mga kamot anaa ang mga samad, ug sa mga hawak anaa ang saput nga sako.
The men will shave their heads and their beards [to show that they are mourning]. They all will slash their hands and wear (rough cloth/sackcloth) around their waists.
38 Sa ibabaw sa tanang mga atop sa balay sa Moab, ug sa kadalanan niini adunay pagminatay sa bisan diin; kay gibungkag ko ang Moab ingon sa usa ka sudlanan nga niana walay bisan kinsa nga nagakalipay, nagaingon si Jehova.
In every home and in the town plazas/centers in Moab there will be [people who are] mourning, because I will have destroyed Moab like [SIM] someone smashes an [old] jar that no one wants [any more].
39 Giunsa kini pagdugmok! Giunsa nila pagminatay! naunsa nga ang Moab mitalikod uban sa kaulaw! ingon niana, ang Moab mahimong usa ka yubitonon ug usa ka kahadlokan niadtong tanan nga nagalibut kaniya.
Moab will be completely shattered! And you will hear the people wailing loudly! They will be disgraced. Moab will become a nation that people ridicule. The people in nearby [countries] will be horrified [about what has happened there].
40 Kay mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova: Ania karon, siya molupad ingon sa usa ka agila, ug mobuklad sa iyang mga pako batok sa Moab.
This is what [I, ] Yahweh, say: ‘Look! Their enemies will be swooping/rushing down over Moab like an eagle [SIM] swoops down [to seize an animal].
41 Ang Kiryot nakuha, ug ang mga salipdanan nangaagaw, ug ang kasingkasing sa mga kusganong tawo sa Moab niadtong adlawa maingon sa kasingkasing sa usa ka babaye nga anaa sa iyang mga kasakit sa pag-anak.
Its cities will be captured, its fortresses will be seized. [Even] their warriors will be [afraid], like [SIM] a woman who is about to give birth.
42 Ug ang Moab pagalaglagon gikan sa pagkahimo nga usa ka katawohan, tungod kay siya nagpakadaku sa iyang kaugalingon batok kang Jehova.
[The leaders of] Moab boasted against [me, ] Yahweh, so Moab will be destroyed.
43 Ang kahadlok, ug ang gahong, ug ang lit-ag, anaa diha kanimo, Oh pumoluyo sa Moab, nagaingon si Jehova.
[I, ] Yahweh, say that you people of Moab will be terrified, and fall into pits and traps.
44 Siya nga nagadalagan gikan sa kahadlok mahulog sa gahong; ug siyanga mogula sa gahong mabitik sa lit-ag: kay dad-on ko kaniya, bisan pa sa ibabaw sa Moab, ang tuig sa pagdu-aw kanila, nagaingon si Jehova.
Those who are terrified and try to run away will fall into deep pits. Whoever climbs out of a pit will be caught in a trap, because I will punish them at the time that I have chosen.’
45 Sila nga mingkalagiw, sa ilalum sa landong sa Hesbon, mingtindog sila nga walay kusog; kay ang usa ka kalayo migula gikan sa Hesbon, ug ang usa ka siga gikan sa taliwala sa Sehon, ug milamoy sa likoanan sa Moab, ug sa purong-purong sa ulo sa samokan nga mga tawo.
The people will flee as far as Heshbon [city], but they will not be able to go any further, because a fire will burn in Heshbon, [which is the city] where [King] Sihon lived [long ago], and it will burn up all the people [SYN] in Moab who noisily/loudly boasted very much.
46 Alaut ka, Oh Moab! ang katawohan sa Chemos nangatapus na; kay ang imong mga anak nga lalake gipamihag, ug ang imong mga anak nga babaye gipanagdala ngadto sa pagkabinihag.
[You people of] Moab, terrible things will happen to you! You people who worship [your god] Chemosh, you will be destroyed. Your sons and your daughters will be captured and taken away [to other countries].
47 Apan igauli ko gikan sa pagkabinihag ang Moab sa ulahing mga adlaw, nagaingon si Jehova. Sa ingon niana mao kini ang paghukom sa Moab.
But some day, I will enable the people of Moab to return to their land again. [That will surely happen because I, ] Yahweh, have said it.” That is the end of what I prophesied about Moab.
