Hosea 5

1 Patalinghugi kini, Oh kamo nga mga sacerdote, ug pamatia, Oh balay sa Israel, ug paminawa, Oh balay sa hari; kay ang paghukom nahitungod kaninyo; kay kamo nahimong lit-ag sa Mizpa, ug pukot nga gibuklad sa Tabor.

Hear this, ye priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king: for this judgment is for you; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

2 Ug ang manggugubot nanghiunlod sa kinahiladman tungod sa pagpatay; apan sila nga tanan pagabadlongon ko.

And they have plunged themselves in the corruption of apostasy, but I will be a chastiser of them all.

3 Ako nakaila kang Ephraim, ug ang Israel, wala matago kanako; kay karon, Oh Ephraim, ikaw nakighilawas, ang Israel nahugawan.

I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, Ephraim, thou hast committed whoredom; Israel is defiled.

4 Ang ilang mga binuhatan dili makatugot kanila sa pagbalik ngadto sa ilang Dios; kay ang espiritu sa pagpakighilawas anaa sa sulod nila, ug sila wala makaila kang Jehova.

Their doings do not allow them to return unto their God; for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they know not Jehovah.

5 Ug ang pagpagarbo sa Israel nagapamatuod sa iyang atubangan; busa ang Israel ug ang Ephraim manghisukamod sa ilang kasal-anan; ang Juda usab mahasukamod uban kanila.

And Israel's pride doth testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall by their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.

6 Sila mangadto uban sa ilang mga panon ug sa ilang kahayupan aron sa pagpangita kang Jehova; apan siya dili nila hikaplagan: siya mipahawa sa iyang kaugalingon gikan kanila.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find [him]: he hath withdrawn himself from them.

7 Sila nagamaluibon batok kang Jehova; kay sila nanganak ug mga anak sa gawas: karon pagalamyon sila sa bag-ong bulan uban sa ilang kaumahan.

They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have begotten strange children: now shall the new moon devour them, with their allotted possessions.

8 Patingoga ninyo ang corneta sa Gabaa, ug ang trompeta sa Rama: patingoga ang pagpagubok diha sa Beth-aven; sa imong luyo, Oh Benjamin.

Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; cry aloud [at] Beth-aven: behind thee, O Benjamin!

9 Ang Ephraim mahimong kamingawan sa adlaw sa pagbadlong: sa mga banay sa Israel akong gipahibalo kadtong mahitabo sa pagkatinuod gayud.

Ephraim shall be a desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which is sure.

10 Ang mga principe sa Juda mahasma kanila nga nag-irog sa mohon sa yuta: akong igabubo ang akong kaligutgut kanila maingon sa tubig.

The princes of Judah are become like them that remove the landmark: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

11 Ang Ephraim gipiutan sa mga principe, siya nadugmok sa paghukom; kay siya nahimuot nga magasunod sa sugo sa tawo.

Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because in selfwill he walked after the commandment [of man].

12 Busa alang sa Ephraim ako nahimong usa ka tangkob, ug sa balay sa Juda maingon nga usa ka pagkadunot.

And I will be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.

13 Sa pagkakita sa Ephraim sa iyang sakit, ug sa pagkakita sa Juda sa iyang samad, unya miadto ang Ephraim sa Asiria, ug nagpadala ngadto sa hari nga si Jareb: apan siya dili makahimo pagpaalim kaninyo, ni sa pag-ayo sa inyong samad.

When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sore, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb; but he was unable to heal you, nor hath he removed your sore.

14 Kay alang sa Ephraim ako mahimo nga daw usa ka leon, ug maingon sa batan-ong leon alang sa balay sa Juda: ako, bisan ako, mokunis-kunis ug mopahawa; ako mobihag, ug walay bisan kinsa nga makaluwas.

For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, I will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.

15 Ako moadto ug mobalik sa akong dapit, hangtud nga ilang igasugid ang ilang paglapas, ug mangita sa akong nawong: sa ilang kasakit ilang pagapangitaon ako sa masingkamoton gayud.

I will go away, I will return to my place, till they acknowledge their trespass, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
