Hageo 2
1 Sa ikapito ka bulan, sa ikakaluhaan ug usa ka adlaw sa bulan, midangat ang pulong ni Jehova pinaagi kang Haggeo nga manalagna, nga nagaingon:
On October 17 [of that year], Yahweh gave [me], the prophet Haggai, [another] message.
2 Sultihi karon si Zorobabel ang anak nga lalake ni Sealtiel, gobernador sa Juda, ug si Josue ang anak nga lalake ni Josadac, ang labawng sacerdote, ug ang salin sa katawohan, nga magaingon:
[The message was that I should] say this to Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and to the other people who were still alive [in Jerusalem]:
3 Kinsa diha ang nanghibilin kaninyo nga nanagpakakita niining balaya sa iyang himaya kanhi? ug, unsa ang inyong pagtan-aw niana karon? dili ba kana sa inyong mga mata ingon sa walay nahot?
“Do any of you remember how glorious our former temple was? [If you do, ] what does it look like to you now? It must seem like nothing at all.
4 Bisan pa niana karon pagmalig-on, Oh Zorobabel, miingon si Jehova; ug pagmalig-on, Oh Josue, anak nga lalake ni Josadac, ang labawng sacerdote; ug pagmalig-on kamong tanang katawohan sa yuta, miingon si Jehova, ug pagbuhat: kay ako nagauban man kaninyo, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon.
But now the Commander of the armies of angels says to [all of you], to Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of you people who live in this nation, ‘[Do not be discouraged; ] be strong [DOU], and work [to build this new temple], because I will (be with/help) you.
5 Sumala sa pulong nga gipakigtugon ko kaninyo sa diha nga kamo nanggula gikan sa Egipto, ug ang akong Espiritu nagapuyo diha sa taliwala ninyo: ayaw kamo kahadlok.
My Spirit remains among you, like I promised your [ancestors] when they left Egypt. [So] do not be afraid!’”
6 Kay mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova sa mga panon: Ngani sa nakausa pa diyutay na lamang nga panahon, ug uyogon ko ang mga langit, ug ang kalibutan, ug ang dagat, ug ang mamala nga yuta;
This is what the Commander of the armies of angels says: “Soon I will shake the sky and the earth, the oceans and the land again.
7 ug uyogon ko ang tanang mga nasud; ug ang mga bilihong butang sa tanang mga nasud moabut; ug kining balaya pun-on ko sa himaya, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon.
I will shake [again the people of] all the nations, and as a result they will bring their treasures [to this temple]. I will fill this temple with [my] glory.
8 Ang salapi ako man, ug ang bulawan ako usab, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon.
The silver and the gold [that they own] are [really] mine, [so they will bring them to me].
9 Ang ulahing himaya niining balaya molabaw pa sa unang himaya, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon; ug niining dapita igahatag ko ang pakigdait, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon.
[Then] this temple will be more glorious than the former/previous [temple was]. And I will cause things to go well for you all. [That will surely happen because I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, have said it.”
10 Sa ikakaluhaan ug upat ka adlaw sa ikasiyam ka bulan, sa ikaduha ka tuig ni Dario, midangat ang pulong ni Jehova pinaagi kang Haggeo nga manalagna, nga nagaingon:
On December 18 of that year, Yahweh gave [another] message to [me], the prophet Haggai.
11 Mao kini ang giingon ni Jehova, sa mga panon Pangutan-a karon ang mga sacerdote mahatungod sa Kasugoan, nga magaingon:
This is what the Commander of the armies of angels said to me: “Ask the priests [this question] about what is written in the laws [of Moses about sacrifices]:
12 Kong may tawo nga magadala ug balaang unod sa sidsid sa iyang bisti, ug uban sa sidsid sa iyang bisti makatandog sa tinapay, kun sa linat-an, kun sa vino, kun sa lana, kun sa bisan unsa nga kalan-on, mahimo ba kini nga balaan? Ug ang mga sacerdote mingtubag ug ming-ingon: Dili.
‘If one [of you priests takes from the altar some] meat that was sacrificed and is carrying it in his robes, if his robe touches [some] bread or stew or wine or [olive] oil or some other food, does that food also become (holy/acceptable for a sacrifice)?’” [When he said that to] the priests, they replied, “No.”
13 Unya miingon si Haggeo: Kong ang tawo nga dili mahinlo tungod sa minatay makahikap sa usa niini, mahugaw ba kini? Ug ang mga sacerdote mingtubag ug ming-ingon: Kana mahimong mahugaw.
Then Haggai asked them, “If someone becomes unacceptable to God by touching a corpse, and [then he] touches any of those foods, will the food [also] become unacceptable to God?” The priests replied, “Yes.”
14 Unya mitubag si Haggeo ug miingon: Ingon man kining katawohan, ug ingon man kining nasud nga ania sa akong atubangan, miingon si Jehova; ug ingon man ang tagsatagsa ka buhat sa ilang mga kamot; ug kana nga ilang ihalad diha mahugawan man.
Then Haggai replied, “Yahweh says [this]: ‘It is the same with you people and with this nation. Everything that you do and [all the sacrifices] that you all offer are unacceptable to me [because of the sins that you have committed].
15 Ug karon, ipangamuyo ko kaninyo, palandunga sukad niining adlawa ug sa mga miagi, sa wala pa ikapahamutang ang usa ka bato sa ibabaw sa usa ka bato sa templo ni Jehova.
Think about what has been happening to you before you began to lay the foundation of my temple.
16 Sulod nianang tibook nga panahon, sa diha nga ang usa nahiabut sa usa ka pundok nga kaluhaan ka takus, dihay napulo lamang ka takus sa diha nga ang usa miadto sa kawa sa vino sa pagkuha ug kalim-an ka takus, dihay kaluhaan lamang ka takus.
When you expected [to harvest] 20 bushels [of grain, you harvested] only ten bushels. When someone went to a [big] wine vat to get 50 gallons [of wine], there were only 20 [gallons in the vat].
17 Gihampak ko kamo pinaagi sa hulaw, ug sa panglaya sa dahon, ug sa ulan-nga-yelo, sa tanang mga buhat sa inyong mga kamot; bisan pa niana kamo wala bumalik kanako, nagaingon si Jehova.
I sent (blight/hot winds) and mildew and hail to destroy all your crops. But still you did not return to me.
18 Palandunga, nangamuyo ako kaninyo, gikan niining adlaw ug sa miagi, gikan sa ikakaluhaan ug upat ka adlaw sa ikasiyam ka bulan, sukad pa sa adlaw nga ang patukoranan sa templo ni Jehova gipahaluna, palandunga kini.
Starting from this day, December 18, the day when [you] have laid the foundation of my [new] temple, continue to think carefully [about your situation].
19 Ang mga trigo anaa pa ba sa kamalig? oo, ang parras, ug ang igos, ug ang granada, ug ang kahoyng olivo wala mobunga; gikan niining adlawa ako magapanalangin kaninyo.
Is there now [RHQ] [any grain] seed left in your barns? [No, because you have eaten the small amount that you harvested]. And there is no fruit on your grapevines and fig trees and pomegranate [trees] and olive trees. But, from now on, I will bless you!’”
20 Ug ang pulong ni Jehova midangat sa ikaduha nga panahon kang Haggeo sa ikakaluhaan ug upat ka adlaw sa maong bulan, nga nagaingon:
On that same day, Yahweh gave another message to me.
21 Sultihi si Zorobabel, gobernador sa Juda, nga magaingon: Akong papauyogon ang mga langit ug ang yuta;
[He said, ] “Tell Zerubbabel the governor of Judah that I am going to shake the sky and the earth.
22 Ug akong pagagub-on ang trono sa mga gingharian; ug akong papalumpagon ang kusog sa mga gingharian sa mga nasud; ug akong papagubon ang mga carro, ug kadtong mga nagasakay niana; ug ang mga kabayo ug ang ilang mga magkakabayo mangahulog, ang tagsatagsa pinaagi sa espada sa iyang igsoon.
I will end the power of the kings of [many] nations [DOU]. I will cause their chariots and their drivers, their horses and [the soldiers] who are riding on them to be destroyed. [What will happen is that I will cause the soldiers] to kill each other with their swords.
23 Niadtong adlawa, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon, kuhaon ko ikaw, Oh Zorobabel, sulogoon ko, anak nga lalake ni Sealtiel, nagaingon si Jehova, ug himoon ko ikaw nga ingon sa usa ka singsing nga patik; kay gipili ko ikaw, nagaingon si Jehova sa mga panon.
Zerubbabel, you serve [me well]. So [I], the Commander of the armies of angels, declare that [like kings wear] signet rings [to show that they have authority to rule people], I will appoint you and cause you [to have authority to rule]. I will do that because I have chosen you. [That will surely happen because I, ] the Commander of the armies of angels, have said it.”
