Genesis 28
1 Unya gitawag ni Isaac si Jacob, ug iyang gipanalanginan siya, ug nagtugon kaniya ug miingon: Dili ka mangasawa sa mga anak nga babaye sa mga Canaanhon:
And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan.
2 Tumindog ka ug umadto sa Padan-aram, sa balay ni Bethuel nga amahan sa imong inahan, ug mangasawa ka didto gikan sa mga anak nga babaye ni Laban, nga igsoon sa imong inahan.
Arise, go to Padan-aram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thyself from there a wife of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
3 Ug ang Dios nga Makagagahum sa ngatanan magapanalangin kanimo, ug magapa-mabugaon kanimo ug magapadaghan kanimo, aron ikaw mahimo nga pundok sa mga katawohan;
And God, the Almighty, bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest become a multitude of people;
4 Ug ikaw pagahatagan niya sa panalangin ni Abraham, kanimo ug sa imong kaliwatan uban kanimo; aron mapanununod mo ang yuta sa imong mga paglangyaw nga gihatag sa Dios kang Abraham.
And may he give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojourn, which God gave unto Abraham.
5 Ug si Jacob gipalakaw ni Isaac, ug siya miadto sa Padan-aram kang Laban, anak nga lalake ni Bethuel nga Siriahanon, nga igsoon ni Rebeca, nga inahan ni Jacob ug ni Esau.
And Isaac sent away Jacob, and he went to Padan-aram, unto Laban, the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.
6 Karon nakita ni Esau nga si Isaac nagpanalangin kang Jacob ug iyang gipalakaw siya ngadto sa Padan-aram, sa pagpangasawa; ug nga sa pagpanalangin kaniya, iyang gitugon siya, ug miingon: Dili ka mangasawa sa mga anak nga babaye sa mga Canaanhon;
And when Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take himself from there a wife; and in blessing him had given him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
7 Ug nga nagtuman si Jacob sa iyang amahan ug sa iyang inahan, ug miadto siya sa Padan-aram:
And that Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan-aram:
8 Ug nakita ni Esau nga ang mga anak nga babaye nga Canaanhon, wala makapahimuot kang Isaac nga iyang amahan;
Then saw Esau that the daughters of Canaan were evil in the eyes of Isaac his father;
9 Ug miadto si Esau kang Ismael, ug nangasawa kang Maalet, anak nga babaye ni Ismael, anak nga lalake ni Abraham, igsoon nga babaye ni Nabiaiot, labut pa sa uban nga iyang mga asawa.
And Esau went unto Ishmael, and took Machalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham's son, the sister of Nebayoth in addition to his wives, to himself as wife.
10 Ug si Jacob mipahawa sa Beer-seba, ug miadto padulong sa Haran.
And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Charan.
11 Ug mipahulay siya sa usa ka dapit ug mipabilin didto sa tibook nga gabii, kay misalop na ang adlaw; ug mikuha siya ug usa sa mga bato niadtong dapita nga iyang giunlan ug mihigda siya sa pagkatulog niadtong dapita.
And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took one of the stones of the place, and put it for his pillow, and laid himself down in that place.
12 Ug nagdamgo siya; ug ania karon, may usa ka hagdan nga nagatindog sa yuta, ug ang iyang tumoy miabut sa langit; ug ania karon, ang mga manolonda sa Dios, nga nagasaka ug nagakanaug niini.
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven; and behold, angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
13 Ug ania karon, si Jehova nagatindog sa ibabaw niini, ug miingon siya: Ako mao si Jehova ang Dios ni Abraham, nga imong amahan ug ang Dios ni Isaac; ang yuta nga imong ginahigdaan igahatag ko kanimo, ug sa imong kaliwatan.
And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 Ug ang imong kaliwatan mahimong sama sa abug sa yuta, ug mokaylap ka sa kasadpan, ug sa silangan, ug sa amihanan ug sa habagatan; ug diha kanimo ug sa imong kaliwat pagapanalanginan ang tanan nga mga kabanayan sa yuta.
And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north and to the south; and in thee and thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 Ug ania karon, ako magauban kanimo, ug ikaw pagabantayan ko sa bisan asa nga imong pagaadtoan, ug ikaw pagapabalikon ko niining yutaa; kay ako dili mobiya kanimo hangtud nga matuman ko ang akong gisulti kanimo.
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done what I have spoken to thee of.
16 Ug nahigmata si Jacob gikan sa iyang paghikatulog, ug miingon: Sa pagkamatuod si Jehova ania niining dapita ug ako wala mahibalo.
And Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is present in this place; and I knew it not.
17 Ug nahadlok siya ug miingon: Pagkamakalilisang niining dapita! kini dili lain kondili ang balay sa Dios, ug kini mao gayud ang ganghaan sa langit.
And he was afraid, and said, How fearful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18 Ug si Jacob mibangon sayo sa pagkabuntag ug gikuha niya ang bato nga iyang giunlanan, ug kini gipatindog niya ingon sa usa ka haligi nga handumanan, ug iyang gibuboan ug lana ang ibabaw niini.
And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillow, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19 Ug kadtong dapita gihinganlan niya ug Bethel; apan sa sinugdan ang ngalan niadtong lungsora Luz.
And he called the name of that place Beth-el; but Luz was the name of that city in former times.
20 Ug si Jacob naghimo ug usa ka panumpa, nga nagaingon: Kong magauban ang Dios kanako, ug magabantay kanako niining dalana nga akong ginalaktan, ug magahatag kanako ug tinapay nga pagakan-on ug panapton nga igasul-ob,
And Jacob made a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me on this way which I am going, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 Sa pagkaagi nga makabalik ako sa pakigdait sa balay sa akong amahan, ug si Jehova mahimo nga akong Dios,
And I come again in peace to my father's house: then shall the Lord be my God;
22 Unya kining batoha nga akong gipatindog ingon sa haligi nga handumanan mahimong balay sa Dios; ug sa tanan nga imong igahatag kanako, sa pagkamatuod ang bahin nga ikapulo akong igahatag kanimo.
And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house; and of all that thou wilt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
