Genesis 14
1 Ug nahitabo nga sa mga adlaw ni Amraphel, nga hari sa Shinar, si Arioch nga hari sa Elasar, si Chedorlaomer, nga hari sa Ela, ug si Tidal, nga hari sa mga nasud.
At that time Amraphel was king of Shinar, and he allied himself with Arioch, king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, and Tidal, king of Goiim.
2 Nga kini sila minggubat batok kang Bera, nga hari sa Sodoma, ug batok kang Birsha, nga hari sa Gomorra, ug batok kang Shinab, nga hari sa Adma, ug batok kang Shemeber, nga hari sa Zeboim, ug batok sa hari sa Bela, (nga mao usab ang Zoar).
They attacked Bera, king of Sodom, Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (otherwise known as Zoar).
3 Ngatanan kini sila mingtigum sa walog sa Siddim (nga mao ang Dagat nga Maasin).
All these in the second group joined forces in the Valley of Siddim (the Dead Sea valley).
4 Napulo ug duha ka tuig nga nanag-alagad sila kang Chedorlaomer, ug sa ikapulo ug tolo ka tuig mingsukol sila.
They had been under the rule of Chedorlaomer for twelve years, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled against him.
5 Ug sa tuig nga ikapulo ug upat miabut si Chedorlaomer, ug ang mga hari nga diha sa iyang bahin, ug gipamatay nila ang mga Raphaibanon sa Ashteroth-Carnaim, ang mga Susihanon sa Ham, ug ang mga Emihanon sa Sabe-Kiriataim.
In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer invaded, along with the kings in his alliance. They defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,
6 Ug ang mga Horehanon sa ilang bukid sa Seir, hangtud sa patag sa El-Paran, nga anaa sa luyo sa kamingawan.
and the Horites in their hill country of Seir, all the way to El-paran, near the desert.
7 Ug namalik sila ug nangadto sa Emmisphat nga mao ang Cades, ug gilaglag nila ang tanan nga lungsod sa mga Amalecahanon, ug ingon usab ang mga Amorehanon, nga nagpuyo sa Hazezon-Tamar.
Then they swung back through and attacked En-mishpat (otherwise known as Kadesh) and conquered the whole country belonging to the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
8 Ug minggula ang hari sa Sodoma, ug ang hari sa Gomorra, ug ang hari sa Adma, ug ang hari sa Zeboim, ug ang hari sa Bela, nga mao si Zoar, ug nanagsugo sila sa paggubat batok kanila sa walog sa Siddim:
Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (otherwise known as Zoar) marched out and prepared for battle in the Valley of Siddim.
9 Batok kang Chedorlaomer, nga hari sa Elam, ug kang Tidal, nga hari sa mga nasud, ug kang Amraphel, nga hari sa Shinar, ug kang Arioch, nga hari sa Elasar; upat ka mga hari batok sa lima.
They fought Chedorlaomer, king of Elam, Tidal, king of Goiim, Amraphel, king of Shinar, and Arioch, king of Ellasar—four kings on one side against five on the other.
10 Ug ang walog sa Siddim puno sa mga atabay sa asfalto; ug nanagpangalagiw ang hari sa Sodoma, ug ang sa Gomorra, ug nangahulog sila didto; ug ang uban nangalagiw sa bukid.
There were many tar pits in the Valley of Siddim, and as the defeated kings of Sodom and Gomorrah ran away, some of their men fell into them while the rest ran to the hills.
11 Ug gikuha nila ang tanan nga bahandi sa Sodoma ug sa Gomorra, ug ang tanan nila nga mga kalan-on, ug nanglakaw sila.
The invaders took from Sodom and Gomorrah all their possessions and food and left.
12 Gidala usab nila si Lot, nga anak sa igsoon ni Abram, nga nagpuyo sa Sodoma, ug ang iyang bahandi ug nanglakaw sila.
They also captured Lot, Abram's nephew, and his possessions, because he was living in Sodom.
13 Ug mianha ang usa sa mga nakakalagiw, ug gipahibalo niya si Abram ang Hebreohanon, nga nagpuyo sa kakahoyan sa Mamre nga iya sa Amorehanon, nga igsoon ni Eschol ug igsoon ni Aner: ug sila mga kadapig ni Abram.
But one of those captured escaped and went and told Abram the Hebrew what had happened. Abram was living by the oaks of Mamre the Amorite, whose brothers were Eshcol and Aner. All of them were Abram's allies.
14 Ug sa pagkadungog ni Abram nga ang iyang igsoon nahimong binihag, gimandoan niya ang iyang mga binansay nga mga tawo nga nangatawo sa iyang balay, totolo ka gatus ug napulo ug walo ug ilang giapas sila hangtud sa Dan.
When Abram found out that his nephew had been captured, he called together 318 fighting men who had been born in his household and chased after them all the way to Dan.
15 Ug sila gibahinbahin niya sa kagabhion, siya ug ang iyang mga ulipon nga lalake, ug ilang gipamatay sila, ug giapas sila hangtud sa Hobah nga anaa sa dapit sa wala sa Damasco.
There he divided his men into groups and attacked at night, defeating the enemy and chasing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.
16 Ug nabawi niya ang tanan nga mga butang, ug ingon man usab si Lot nga iyang igsoon, ug ang iyang bahandi, ug ingon man usab ang mga babaye, ug ang katawohan.
Abram recovered all that had been taken, including Lot and his possessions, and also brought back the women and others who had been captured.
17 Ug migula ang hari sa Sodoma sa pagsugat kaniya, sa iyang pagpauli gikan sa pagpakadaug kang Chedorlaomer ug sa mga hari sa Sabe, (nga mao ang Walog sa hari).
When Abram returned after defeating Chedorlaomer and his allies, the king of Sodom came out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (or Valley of the King).
18 Ug unya si Melchisedec, nga hari sa Salem, mikuha ug tinapay ug vino ug siya mao ang sacerdote sa Labing Labaw nga Dios.
Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine. He was a priest of the Most High God.
19 Ug siya gipanalanginan niya, ug miingon: Dalayegon si Abram sa Dios nga Labing Labaw, nga tag-iya sa langit ug sa yuta;
He blessed Abram, telling him, “May Abram be blessed by the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth.
20 Ug dalayegon ang Dios nga Labing Labaw, nga nagtugyan sa imong mga kaaway nganha sa imong kamot. Ug si Abram mihatag kaniya sa mga bahin nga ikapulo sa tanan.
May the Most High God be praised, who handed your enemies over to you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek one tenth of everything.
21 Unya ang hari sa Sodoma miingon kang Abram: Ihatag mo kanako ang mga tawo, ug kuhaa alang kanimo ang bahandi.
The king of Sodom told Abram, “Let me have the people back, and you can keep everything else for yourself.”
22 Ug mitubag si Abram sa hari sa Sodoma: Gibayaw ko ang akong kamot kang Jehova, Dios nga Labing Labaw, nga tag-iya sa langit ug sa yuta,
But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I raise my hand, making a solemn promise to the Lord, the Most High God, Creator of heaven and earth,
23 Nga ako dili mokuha bisan sa usa ka lugas nga hilo ni sa higot sa usa ka sapin ni sa tanan nga mga imo, aron ikaw dili makaingon: Ako ang nagpadato kang Abram:
that I refuse to take anything belonging to you, not a single thread or a sandal strap. Otherwise you might claim, ‘It was me who made Abram rich!’
24 Gawas kadto lamang mga gipangaon sa mga batan-on, ug ang bahin sa mga tawo nga ming-uban kanako, si Aner, si Eschol, ug si Mamre, ipadawat kanila ang ilang bahin.
I won't take anything except what my men have eaten, and the share for those who accompanied me—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. Let them have their share.”
