Esdras 10
1 Karon samtang nag-ampo pa si Esdras ug naghimo ug pagsugid, nga naghilak ug nagluhod sa atubangan sa balay sa Dios, may natigum pagtingub ngadto kaniya gikan sa Israel usa ka daku kaayong katilingban sa mga lalake ug mga babaye ug mga kabataan; kay ang katawohan minghilak sa hilabihan gayud.
Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
2 Ug si Sechanias ang anak nga lalake ni Jehiel, usa sa mga anak nga lalake ni Elam, mitubag ug miingon kang Esdras: Kami nakalapas batok sa atong Dios, ug nangasawa sa mga babaye nga dumuloong sa mga katawohan sa yuta: apan karon may paglaum pa alang sa Israel mahitungod niining butanga.
And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, [one] of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
3 Busa karon maghimo kita ug usa ka tugon uban sa atong Dios sa pagsalikway sa tanang mga asawa, ug kadtong nangatawo gikan kanila, sumala sa tambag sa akong ginoo, ug sa mga nanagkurog sa sugo sa atong Dios; ug buhaton kana sumala sa Kasugoan.
Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
4 Tindog; kay kining butanga anaa ra kanimo, ug kami ania uban kanimo: pagmaisugon, ug buhata kana.
Arise; for [this] matter [belongeth] unto thee: we also [will be] with thee: be of good courage, and do [it].
5 Unya mitindog si Esdras, ug naghimo sa mga pangulo gikan sa mga sacerdote, ang mga Levihanon, ug ang tibook Israel, sa pagpanumpa nga sila magabuhat sumala niining pulonga. Busa sila nanumpa.
Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
6 Unya si Esdras mitindog gikan sa atubangan sa balay sa Dios, ug misulod ngadto sa lawak ni Johanan anak nga lalake ni Eliasib: ug sa diha nga siya midangat didto, siya wala kumaon ug tinapay ni mag-inum ug tubig; kay siya nagbalata tungod sa paglapas nila nga gikan sa pagkabinihag.
Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Eliashib: and [when] he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water: for he mourned because of the transgression of them that had been carried away.
7 Ug sila naghimo ug pahibalo sa tibook Juda ug Jerusalem ngadto sa tanang mga anak sa pagkabinihag, nga aron sila managhiusa pagtigum ngadto sa Jerusalem;
And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;
8 Ug nga bisan kinsa nga dili moabut sulod sa totolo ka adlaw, sumala sa tambag sa mga principe ug sa mga anciano, ang tanan niyang bahandi pagasakmiton, ug siya ibulag gikan sa katilingban sa pagkabinihag.
And that whosoever would not come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of those that had been carried away.
9 Unya ang tanang mga tawo sa Juda ug Benjamin nanagtigum sa ilang kaugalingon sa pagtingub ngadto sa Jerusalem sulod sa totolo ka adlaw (kadto mao ang ikasiyam ka bulan, sa ikakaluhaan ka adlaw sa bulan): ug ang tibook nga katawohan nanlingkod sa halapad nga dapit atubangan sa balay sa Dios, nanagkurog tungod niining maong butang, ug tungod sa dakung ulan.
Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It [was] the ninth month, on the twentieth [day] of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of [this] matter, and for the great rain.
10 Ug si Esdras ang sacerdote mitindog, ug miingon kanila: Kamo nakalapas, ug nakigminyo sa mga dumuloong nga babaye, aron sa pagdugang sa sala sa Israel.
And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
11 Busa karon paghimo ug pagsugid ngadto kang Jehova, ang Dios sa inyong mga amahan, ug buhata ang iyang kahimut-an; ug bumulag kamo gikan sa mga katawohan sa yuta, ug gikan sa dumuloong nga mga babaye.
Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
12 Unya ang tibook katilingban mingtubag ug namulong sa usa ka makusog nga tingog: Sumala sa imong gipamulong mahitungod kanamo, kana mao ang among pagabuhaton.
Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
13 Apan ang katawohan daghan, ug kini panahon nga ting-ulan kaayo, ug kami wala makahimo sa pagtindog sa gawas: ni kini mao ang usa ka buhat sa usa ka adlaw kun duha; kay kami nakalapas ug daku uyamut niining butanga.
But the people [are] many, and [it is] a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither [is this] a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
14 Itudlo karon ang atong mga principe alang sa tibook katilingban, ug ang tanan kanila nga ania sa atong mga ciudad nga nakapangasawa sa mga babaye nga dumuloong paanhia sa tinudlo nga panahon, ug uban kanila ang mga anciano sa tagsatagsa ka ciudad, ug ang mga maghuhukom niana, hangtud nga ang mabangis nga kaligutgut sa atong Dios ipahilayo gikan kanato, hangtud nga kining butanga mahuman pagdali.
Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
15 Si Jonathan lamang ang anak nga lalake ni Asael ug si Jaazias anak nga lalake ni Tikva mingtindog batok niining butanga: ug si Messullam ug si Sabethai, ang Levihanon mingtabang kanila.
Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this [matter: ] and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
16 Ug ang mga anak sa pagkabinihag naghimo sa ingon. Ug si Esdras ang sacerdote, uban sa pipila ka mga pangulo sa kabalayan sa mga amahan, sumala sa mga balay sa ilang mga amahan, ug silang tanan sumala sa ilang mga ngalan, gipanaglain; ug sila minglingkod sa nahaunang adlaw sa ikapulo ka bulan aron sa pagsusi sa maong butang.
And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, [with] certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by [their] names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17 Ug ilang gitapus ang tanan uban sa tanang mga tawo nga nakapangasawa sa dumuloong nga mga babaye sa nahaunang adlaw sa nahaunang bulan.
And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
18 Ug taliwala sa mga anak nga lalake sa mga sacerdote may hingkaplagan nga nakapangasawa ug mga dumuloong nga mga babaye: nga mao kini, sa mga anak nga lalake ni Jesua, anak nga lalake ni Josadec, ug ang iyang mga kaigsoonan, si Maasias ug si Eliezer, ug si Jarib, ug si Gedalias.
And among the sons of the priests there were found that had taken strange wives: [namely], of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren; Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
19 Ug sila mingsaad nga ilang isalikway ang ilang mga asawa; ug tungod sa pagkasad-an, sila naghalad ug usa ka lakeng carnero gikan sa panon tungod sa ilang sala.
And they gave their hands that they would put away their wives; and [being] guilty, [they offered] a ram of the flock for their trespass.
20 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Immer: si Hanani ug si Zebadias.
And of the sons of Immer; Hanani, and Zebadiah.
21 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Harim: si Maasias, ug si Elias, ug si Semaias, ug si Jehiel, ug si Uzzias.
And of the sons of Harim; Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
22 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Phasur: si Elioenai, si Maasias, si Ismael, si Nathanael, si Josabad, ug si Elasa.
And of the sons of Pashur; Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
23 Ug sa mga Levihanon: si Jozabad, ug si Simi, ug si Kelaia (kini mao si Kelita), si Pethaia, si Juda, ug si Eliezer,
Also of the Levites; Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (the same [is] Kelita, ) Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
24 Ug sa mga mag-aawit: si Eliasib. Ug sa mga magbalantay sa mga pultahan: si Sallum, ug si Telem, ug si Uri.
Of the singers also; Eliashib: and of the porters; Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
25 Ug sa Israel: sa mga anak nga lalake ni Pharos: si Ramia, ug si Izzaias, ug si Malchias, ug si Miamim, ug si Eleazar, ug si Malchias, ug si Benaias.
Moreover of Israel: of the sons of Parosh; Ramiah, and Jeziah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
26 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Elam: si Mathanias si Zacharias, ug si Jehiel, ug si Abdi, ug si Jeremoth, ug si Elias.
And of the sons of Elam; Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Eliah.
27 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Zattu: si Elioenai, si Eliasib, si Mathanias, ug si Jeremoth, ug si Zabab, ug si Aziza.
And of the sons of Zattu; Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
28 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Bebai: si Johanan, si Hananias, si Zabbai, si Atlai.
Of the sons also of Bebai; Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, [and] Athlai.
29 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Bani: si Mesullam, si Malluch, ug si Adaias; si Jasub, ug si Seal, si Ramoth.
And of the sons of Bani; Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.
30 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Pahath-moab: si Adna, ug si Cheleal, si Benaias, si Maasias, si Mathanias, si Besaleel, si Binnui, ug si Manases.
And of the sons of Pahath-moab; Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
31 Ug sa mga anak nga lalake ni Harim: si Eliezer, si Issia, si Malchias, si Semeias, si Simeon,
And [of] the sons of Harim; Eliezer, Ishijah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
32 Si Benjamin, si Malluch, si Semarias.
Benjamin, Malluch, [and] Shemariah.
33 Sa mga anak nga lalake ni Bani: si Mathenai, si Mathatha, si Zabad, si Eliphelet, si Jeremai, si Manases, si Sami.
Of the sons of Hashum; Mattenai, Mattathah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, [and] Shimei.
34 Sa mga anak nga lalake ni Bani; si Maadi, si Amram, ug si Uel,
Of the sons of Bani; Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
35 Si Benaias, si Bedias, si Cheluhi,
Benaiah, Bedeiah, Chelluh,
36 Si Vanias, si Meremoth, si Eliasib,
Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
37 Si Mathanias, si Mathenai, ug si Jaasai,
Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasau,
38 Ug si Bani, ug si Binnui, si Simi,
And Bani, and Binnui, Shimei,
39 Ug si Selemias, ug si Nathan, ug si Adaias;
And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
40 Si Machnadbai, si Sasai, si Sarai,
Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
41 Si Azareel, ug si Selamias, si Semarias,
Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
42 Si Sallum, si Amarias, si Joseph.
Shallum, Amariah, [and] Joseph.
43 Sa mga anak nga lalake ni Nebo: si Jehiel, si Matithias, si Zabad si Zebina, si Jadau, ug si Joel, si Benaias.
Of the sons of Nebo; Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jadau, and Joel, Benaiah.
44 Kining tanan nakapangasawa sa mga babaye nga dumuloong: ug ang uban kanila may mga asawa nga kanila may mga anak sila.
All these had taken strange wives: and [some] of them had wives by whom they had children.
