Colosas 1

1 Si Pablo, apostol ni Cristo Jesus pinaagi sa kabobut-on sa Dios, ug si Timoteo nga atong igsoon,

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the will of God, and from Timothy, also a follower of the Lord.

2 Nganha sa mga anaa sa Colosas, nga mga balaan ug kasaligang mga igsoon diha kang Cristo:

To Christ’s people at Colossae – the followers who are faithful to him: May God, our Father, bless you and give you peace.

3 Sa kanunay magapasalamat kami sa Dios, ang Amahan sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo, inig-ampo namo alang kaninyo,

Whenever we pray we never fail to thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for you,

4 kay kami nakadungog man ugod mahitungod sa inyong pagtoo kang Cristo Jesus ug sa gugma nga inyong ginabatonan alang sa tanang mga balaan,

now that we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all his people,

5 tungod sa paglaum nga gikatagana alang kaninyo didto sa langit. Kining maong paglaum inyong nadungog kaniadto pinaagi sa pulong sa kamatuoran, sa Maayong Balita

because of the hope which is kept safe for you in heaven. Of this hope you heard long ago in the true message of the good news which reached you,

6 nga miabut kaninyo, maingon nga sa pagkatinuod kini nagapamunga ug nagamalamboon sa tibuok kalibutan maingon man usab diha kaninyo, sukad pa niadtong adlaw sa inyong pagpakadungog ug pagpakaila sa tinuod sa grasya sa Dios,

bearing fruit and growing, as it does, through all the world, just as it did among you from the very day that you heard of God’s loving kindness, and understood what that loving kindness really is.

7 maingon sa inyong pagkahibalo niini gikan kang Epafras nga atong hinigugmang masigkaulipon. Alang sa among kaayohan, siya kasaligan nga ministro ni Cristo

It is just what you learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who, as a minister of the Christ, faithfully represents us,

8 ug siya mao ang nagsugilon kanamo mahitungod sa inyong pagkamahigugmaon diha sa Espiritu.

and who told us of the love with which the Spirit has inspired you.

9 Tungod niini, sukad pa niadtong adlaw sa among pagpakadungog niini, wala kami maghunong sa pag-ampo alang kaninyo, sa pagpangamuyo nga unta mapuno kamo sa kahibalo mahitungod sa iyang kabobut-on diha sa tanang espirituhanong kaalam ug pagpanabut,

And therefore we, from the very day that we heard this, have never ceased praying for you, or asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of the will of God, which comes through all true spiritual wisdom and insight.

10 aron kamo magakinabuhi nga takus sa Ginoo, nga sa hingpit kahimut-an niya, magamabungahon sa tanang mga maayong buhat ug magatubo sa kahibalo mahitungod sa Dios.

Then you will live lives worthy of the Master, and so please God in every way. Your lives will be fruitful in every kind of good action, and grow into a fuller knowledge of God;

11 Hinaut unta nga malinig-onan kamo sa tanang kusog, sumala sa iyang mahimayaong gahum, alang sa tanang pag-antus ug pagpailub dinuyogan sa kalipay,

you will be made strong at all points with a strength worthy of the power manifested in his glory – strong to endure with patience, and even with gladness, whatever may happen to you;

12 nga magahatag kamo sa mga pagpasalamat ngadto sa Amahan nga mao ang naghimo kanatong takus sa pagambit sa panulondon sa mga balaan diha sa kahayag.

and you will give thanks to the Father who made you fit to share the lot which awaits Christ’s people in the realms of light.

13 Siya mao ang nagluwas kanato gikan sa kagahum sa kangitngit ug naglalin kanato ngadto sa gingharian sa iyang Anak nga pinalangga,

For God has rescued us from the tyranny of darkness, and has removed us into the kingdom of his Son, who is the embodiment of his love,

14 kang kinsa kita nakabaton sa pagkatinubos, sa kapasayloan sa mga sala.

and through whom we have found deliverance in the forgiveness of our sins.

15 Siya mao ang dagway sa dili makita nga Dios, ang panganay sa tibuok nga kabuhatan;

For Christ is the incarnation of the invisible God – firstborn and head of all creation;

16 kay pinaagi kaniya gibuhat ang tanang mga butang, diha sa langit ug dinhi sa yuta, makita ug dili makita, mga lingkoranan nga harianon o kagahum o pamunoan o pagbolut-an ang tanang mga butang gibuhat pinaagi kaniya ug alang kaniya.

for in him was created all that is in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible – angels and archangels and all the powers of heaven.

17 Siya mao na sa wala pa ang tanang mga butang, ug diha kaniya ang tanang mga butang gipakapot.

All has been created through him and for him. He was before all things, and all things unite in him;

18 Siya mao ang ulo sa lawas, nga mao ang iglesia; siya mao ang sinugdan, ang panganay nga gikan sa mga nangamatay, aron nga diha sa tanang mga butang siya mahimong kinalabwan sa tanan.

and he is the head of the church, which is his body. The firstborn from the dead, he is to the church the source of its life, that he, in all things, may stand first.

19 Kay diha kaniya nahimuot sa pagpuyo ang bug-os nga kinatibuk-an sa Dios,

For it pleased the Father that in him the divine nature in all its fulness should live,

20 ug pinaagi kaniya nahimuot kini sa pagpasig-uli, nganha sa iyang kaugalingon, sa tanang mga butang sa kayutaan o sa kalangitan, ug naghimo sa kadaitan pinaagi sa iyang dugo diha sa krus.

and through him to reconcile all things to himself (making peace by the shedding of Christ’s blood offered on the cross) – whether on earth or in heaven.

21 Ug kamo, nga kaniadto mga nahimutang sa halayo ug mga mabinatukon diha sa panghunahuna, nga nanaghimo sa mga dautang buhat,

And it pleased God that you, once estranged from him and hostile towards him in your thoughts, intent only on wickedness –

22 karon iya nang napasig-uli ngadto kaniya diha sa iyang tawhanon nga lawas pinaagi sa iyang kamatayon, aron iya kamong ikapaatubang nga binalaan ug dili masaway ug dili mabadlong diha sa iyang atubangan,

but now he has reconciled you to himself by the sacrifice of Christ’s earthly body in death – it has pleased God that you should stand in his presence holy, pure, and blameless,

23 kon kamo magapadayon gayud sa pagtoo, dili matarug, malig-on, dili mobulag sa paglaum sa Maayong Balita nga inyong gipatalinghugan, nga gikawali ngadto sa tanang mga binuhat sa silong sa langit, ug nga niini ako, si Pablo, nahimong ministro.

if only you remain true to your faith, firm and immovable, never abandoning the hope held out in the good news to which you listened, which has been proclaimed among all created things under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made an assistant.

24 Ginakalipay ko karon ang akong mga pag-antus tungod kaninyo, ug dinhi sa akong lawas ginapuno ko ang mga kasakit nga nakulang sa mga pag-antus ni Cristo alang sa iyang lawas nga mao ang iglesia,

Now at last I can rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf, and in my own person I supplement the afflictions endured by the Christ, for the sake of his body, the church;

25 nga niini ako nahimong ministro sumala sa diosnong katungdanan nga gipiyal kanako alang kaninyo, aron sa pagpahayag sa hingpit sa pulong sa Dios,

of which I myself became a minister in virtue of the office with which God entrusted me for your benefit, to declare the message of God in all its fulness –

26 sa tinago nga nalilong sulod sa mga katuigan ug mga kaliwatan apan karon gikapadayag na ngadto sa iyang mga balaan. (aiōn g165)

that truth which has been hidden from former ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to God’s people, (aiōn g165)

27 Gibut-an sa Dios ang pagpaila ngadto kanila sa kadaku gayud sa mga kadagaya sa himaya sa maong tinago alang sa mga Gentil, ang tinago nga si Cristo anaa kaninyo, ang paglaum alang sa himaya.

to whom it was his pleasure to make known the surpassing glory of that hidden truth when proclaimed among the Gentiles – ‘Christ among you! Your hope of glory!’

28 Siya mao ang among ginasangyaw sa among pagpanambag sa tanang mga tawo ug sa among pagpanudlo sa tanang mga tawo diha sa tanang kaalam, aron among ikapaatubang silang tanan ingon nga mga hingkod diha kang Cristo.

This is the Christ whom we proclaim, warning everyone, and instructing everyone, with all the wisdom that we possess, in the hope of bringing everyone into God’s presence perfected by union with Christ.

29 Alang niini ako nagapangabudlay nga nagapanlimbasug sumala sa iyang kusog nga iyang gipalihok nga makagagahum gayud sa sulod nako.

It is for that I toil, struggling with all the energy which he inspires and which works powerfully within me.
