Mga Buhat 24

1 Ug unya tapus sa lima ka adlaw, ang labawng sacerdote nga si Ananias milugsong uban sa pipila ka mga anciano ug sa usa ka manlalaban nga ginganlan si Tertulo. Ug ilang gihikyad sa atubangan sa gobernador ang ilang pahayag batok kang Pablo.

Then, after five days, the high priest Ananias came down with some of the elders and a certain Tertullus, a speaker. And they went to the governor against Paul.

2 Ug sa natawag na si Pablo, batok kaniya misugod si Tertulo sa pagsumbong nga nag-ingon:

And having summoned Paul, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying: “Most excellent Felix, since we have much peace through you, and many things may be corrected by your providence,

3 nan, sa tanang paagi ug sa bisan diin, among ginadawat kini uban sa bug-os nga pagkamapasalamaton.

we acknowledge this, always and everywhere, with acts of thanksgiving for everything.

4 Apan aron sa dili na paglangan pa kanimo, mangamuyo ako kanimo sa imong pagkamapuanguron sa pagpatalinghug kanamo sa makadiyut.

But lest I speak at too great a length, I beg you, by your clemency, to listen to us briefly.

5 Kay among nakita nga maoy usa ka samokan kining tawhana, tig-ugda ug mga kagubot sa tanang mga Judio sa tibuok kalibutan, ug pangulo sa pundok sa mga Nazareno.

We have found this man to be pestilent, to be inciting seditions among all the Jews in the entire world, and to be the author of the sedition of the sect of the Nazarenes.

6 Ug misulay gayud gani siya sa pagpasipala sa templo, apan gidakop namo siya. Ug amo na unta siyang hukman subay sa among kasugoan.

And he has even been attempting to violate the temple. And having apprehended him, we wanted him to be judged according to our law.

7 Apan ang koronil nga si Lisias nahiabut ug sa dakung paglugos iyang gisakmit siya gikan sa among mga kamot,

But Lysias, the tribune, overwhelming us with great violence, snatched him away from our hands,

8 nga nagsugo sa iyang mga magsusumbong sa pagpangatubang kanimo. Pinaagi sa imong pag-usisa kaniya mahibalo ikaw gikan kaniya mahitungod sa tanang sumbong nga among gipasaka batok kaniya."

ordering his accusers to come to you. From them, you yourself will be able, by judging about all these things, to understand the reason that we accuse him.”

9 Ang mga Judio usab nangapil sa pagsumbong, nga nanagpahayag nga kadtong tanan maoy tinuod.

And then the Jews interjected, saying that these things were so.

10 Ug sa gisinyasan siya sa gobernador aron sa pagsulti, si Pablo mitubag:

Then, since the governor had motioned for him to speak, Paul responded: “Knowing that you have been the judge over this nation for many years, I will give an explanation of myself with an honest soul.

11 Sumala sa masayran mo, wala pa molapas sa napulog-duha ka adlaw sukad sa akong paghitungas sa Jerusalem aron sa pagsimba didto.

For, as you may realize, it has only been twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem.

12 Ug wala ako makita nila nga nakiglalis kang bisan kinsa o nagpagubot sa mga tawo, diha sa templo o sa mga sinagoga o sa siyudad.

And they did not find me in the temple arguing with anyone, nor causing a rally of the people: neither in the synagogues, nor in the city.

13 Ug dili usab sila makapadayag kanimog kamatuoran sa ilang mga sumbong karon batok kanako.

And they are not able to prove to you the things about which they now accuse me.

14 Hinoon ipahayag ko kini kanimo, nga sumala sa Dalan nga ilang gitawag ug pundok, ako nagasimba sa Dios sa among mga ginikanan, ug nagatoo sa tanan nga nahimutang diha sa kasugoan o nahisulat diha sa mga profeta,

But I confess this to you, that according to that sect, which they call a heresy, so do I serve my God and Father, believing all that is written in the Law and the Prophets,

15 ug nagabaton diha sa Dios sa samang paglaum nga gipanagdawat usab niini nila, ang paglaum nga adunay pagkabanhaw sa mga matarung ug sa mga dili matarung.

having a hope in God, which these others themselves also expect, that there will be a future resurrection of the just and the unjust.

16 Tungod niini kanunay ko gayud nga ginasingkamotan ang paghupot sa walay sambol nga kaisipan ngadto sa Dios ug sa mga tawo.

And in this, I myself always strive to have a conscience that is lacking in any offense toward God and toward men.

17 Ug unya tapus sa pipila ka mga tuig mianhi ako aron sa pagdalag mga limos ug mga halad alang sa akong nasud.

Then, after many years, I went to my nation, bringing alms and offerings and vows,

18 Ug samtang naghimo ako niini, ilang nakita ako diha sa bulohaton sa pagpaputli sa kaugalingon sulod sa templo, nga walay pundok ni kasamok. Apan dihay mga Judio nga gikan sa Asia

through which I obtained purification in the temple: neither with a crowd, nor with a commotion.

19 kini sila mao untay kinahanglan ania dinhi sa imong atubangan ug magahimo sa sumbong, kon ugaling aduna man silay bisan unsa nga batok kanako.

But certain Jews out of Asia are the ones who should have appeared before you to accuse me, if they have anything against me.

20 Ug kay wala man sila dinhi, ipasulti na lamang niining mga tawhana nga ania karon kon unsa ang dautang binuhatan nga ilang nakita samtang nangatubang ako sa Sanhedrin,

Or let these ones here say if they have found in me any iniquity, while standing before the council.

21 gawas lamang kaha niadtong usa ka butang nga akong gisinggit samtang nagtindog ako sa ilang taliwala, nga nag-ingon, `Bahin sa pagkabanhaw sa mga patay, ania ako karon niining adlawa ginahukman sa inyong atubangan.'"

For while standing among them, I spoke out solely about this one matter: about the resurrection of the dead. It is about this that I am being judged today by you.”

22 Apan sanglit si Felix may husto man nga kasayuran mahitungod sa Dalan, giuswag niya ang husay, nga nag-ingon, "Hukman ko kining inyong buroka inighilugsong na ni Lisias nga koronil."

Then Felix, after having ascertained much knowledge about this Way, kept them waiting, by saying, “When Lysias the tribune has arrived, I will give you a hearing.”

23 Unya iyang gisugo ang kapitan sa pagbantay kang Pablo, hinoon nga hatagan siyag diyutayng kagawasan, ug nga walay pagdid-an sa iyang mga higala sa pag-alagad kaniya sa iyang mga kinahanglanon.

And he ordered a centurion to guard him, and to take rest, and not to prohibit any of his own from ministering to him.

24 Tapus sa pipila ka adlaw, miabut si Felix uban sa iyang asawa nga si Drusila, nga usa ka Judio. Ug iyang gipakuha si Pablo ug naminaw siya kaniya nga nagsulti mahitungod sa pagtoo kang Cristo Jesus.

Then, after some days, Felix, arriving with his wife Drusilla who was a Jew, called for Paul and listened to him about the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

25 Ug sa nanghinulti siya mahitungod sa katarungan ug sa pagpugong sa kaugalingon ug sa hukom nga umalabut, si Felix nalisang ug miingon, "Pahawa usa karon. Kon makagayon na ako ipatawag ko ra ikaw."

And after he discoursed about justice and chastity, and about the future judgment, Felix was trembling, and he responded: “For now, go, but remain under guard. Then, at an opportune time, I will summon you.”

26 Ug gipaabut usab diay niya nga hatagan siya ni Pablo ug salapi. Tungod niini iyang gipakuha siya sa masubsob ug nakigsulti kaniya.

He was also hoping that money might be given to him by Paul, and because of this, he frequently summoned him and spoke with him.

27 Apan sa paglabay na sa duha ka tuig, si Felix gipulihan ni Porcio Festo; ug kay gitinguha man niya ang pagpahimuot sa mga Judio, si Felix mipahawa nga nagbilin kang Pablo nga binilanggo lang gihapon.

Then, when two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Portius Festus. And since Felix wanted to show particular favor to the Jews, he left Paul behind as a prisoner.
