1 Ug sa paghunong na sa kaguliyang, ang mga tinun-an gipakuha ni Pablo ug tapus makapahimangno kanila, siya nanamilit kanila ug migikan paingon sa Macedonia.
When the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples; and, after speaking words of encouragement to them, he took his leave, and started for Macedonia.
2 Ug sa nakalatas na siya niadtong mga dapita, tapus makahatag sa daghang mga pagdasig sa mga kaigsoonan didto, siya nahidangat sa Gresya.
Passing through those districts he encouraged the disciples in frequent addresses, and then came into Greece, and spent three months there.
3 Ug didto nagpabilin siya sulod sa tulo ka bulan, ug sa diha nga ang mga Judio naghimog usa ka laraw batok kaniya sa taligikan na unta siya sakay sa sakayan padulong sa Siria, naabut sa iyang hunahuna ang pagpauli nga adto mag-agi sa Macedonia.
The Jews having planned to waylay him whenever he might be on the point of taking ship for Syria, he decided to travel back by way of Macedonia.
4 Ug mikuyog kaniya sila si Sopater nga taga-Berea, nga anak ni Pirro; ug si Aristarco ug si Segundo nga mga taga-Tesalonica; ug si Gayo nga taga-Derbe, ug si Timoteo; ug si Tiquico ug si Trofimo nga mga taga-Asia.
He was accompanied as far as the province of Asia by Sopater the Beroean, the son of Pyrrhus; by the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; by Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and by the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.
5 Ug kini sila miuna ug didto maghulat kanamo sa Troas,
These brethren had gone on and were waiting for us in the Troad.
6 apan kami diha na mogikan sa Filipos sakay sa sakayan tapus sa mga adlaw sa Tinapay nga Walay Igpapatubo, ug sa lima ka adlaw kami nahiabut kanila sa Troas, diin nanagpabilin kami sulod sa pito ka adlaw.
But we ourselves sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined them in the Troad, where we remained for a week.
7 Ug sa nahaunang adlaw sa semana, sa nagkatigum kami aron sa pagpikaspikas sa tinapay, si Pablo, nga may tuyo sa paggikan sa pagkasunod nga adlaw, nakigsultihanay kanila; ug iyang gitaas ang iyang pakigpulong hangtud sa tungang gabii.
On the first day of the week, when we had met to break bread, Paul, who was going away the next morning, was preaching to them, and prolonged his discourse till midnight.
8 Ug didtoy daghang suga sulod sa itaas nga lawak diin nanagkatigum kami.
Now there were a good many lamps in the room upstairs where we all were,
9 Ug diha sa bintana naglingkod ang usa ka batan-ong lalaki nga ginganlan si Eutico, nga nahinanok sa halalum nga paghikatulog samtang si Pablo nagpadayon pa gihapon sa pagsulti. Ug sa gidaug na gayud siya sa katulogon, siya nahulog ngadto sa ubos gikan sa ikatulong andana, ug gipanagsakwat siya nga patay na.
and a youth of the name of Eutychus was sitting at the window. This lad, gradually sinking into deep sleep while Paul preached at unusual length, overcome at last by sleep, fell from the second floor and was taken up dead.
10 Apan si Pablo nanaug ug iyang giub-an siya, ug samtang naggakus kaniya, miingon, "Ayaw kamo kabalaka, kay buhi siya."
Paul, however, went down, threw himself upon him, and folding him in his arms said, "Do not be alarmed; his life is still in him."
11 Ug sa nakasaka na si Pablo ug nakapikaspikas sa tinapay ug nakakaon, siya nakigsulti pa kanila sa hataas hangtud namanagbanag na ang kabuntagon, ug unya migikan siya.
Then he went upstairs again, broke bread, and took some food; and after a long conversation which was continued till daybreak, at last he parted from them.
12 Ug ang batan-on ilang gidala nga buhi, ug sila nangalipay ug daku uyamot.
They had taken the lad home alive, and were greatly comforted.
13 Apan kami nga miuna pagsakay sa sakayan milawig padulong sa Ason, sa tuyo nga didto among pasakyon si Pablo; kay mao man kini ang iyang tuyo nga adto lamang siya agi sa mamala.
The rest of us had already gone on board a ship, and now we set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there; for so he had arranged, he himself intending to go by land.
14 Ug sa pagsugat niya kanamo sa Ason, siya among gipasakay ug unya nahidangat kami sa Mitilene.
Accordingly, when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene.
15 Ug gikan didto milawig kami, ug sa pagkasunod nga adlaw didto na kami sa atbang sa Quio; sa pagkasunod nga adlaw midunggo kami sa Samos; ug sa pagkasunod nga adlaw midangat kami sa Mileto.
Sailing from there, we arrived the next day off Chios. On the next we touched at Samos; and on the day following reached Miletus.
16 Kay tuyo man ugod ni Pablo ang pagsaylo lamang sa Efeso aron dili siya kausikan ug panahon didto sa Asia; kay siya nagdali sa pag-abut sa Jerusalem, kon mahimo, sa adlaw sa Pentecostes.
For Paul's plan was to sail past Ephesus, so as not to spend much time in the province of Asia; since he was very desirous of being in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of the Harvest Festival.
17 Ug gikan sa Mileto nagsugo siya ngadto sa Efeso sa pagtawag sa mga anciano sa iglesia sa pag-adto kaniya.
From Miletus he sent to Ephesus for the Elders of the Church to come to him.
18 Ug sa paghiabut na nila, siya miingon kanila,
Upon their arrival he said to them, "You Elders well know, from the first day of my setting foot in the province of Asia, the kind of life I lived among you the whole time,
19 nga nag-alagad ako sa Ginoo uban sa bug-os nga pagkamapaubsanon, ug uban sa mga luha, ug sa taliwala sa mga pagpanulay nga miabut kanako gumikan sa mga paglaraw sa mga Judio;
serving the Lord in all humility, and with tears, and amid trials which came upon me through the plotting of the Jews--
20 nga wala ako maglilong sa bisan unsa nga inyong kaayohan, nga nagpanudlo kaninyo sa atubangan sa kadaghanan ug diha sa inyong kabalayan,
and that I never shrank from declaring to you anything that was profitable, or from teaching you in public and in your homes,
21 sa pagpanghimatuod sa atubangan sa mga Judio ug sa mga Gresyanhon mahitungod sa paghinulsol ngadto sa Dios ug sa pagtoo kang Jesu-Cristo nga atong Ginoo.
and urging upon both Jews and Greeks the necessity of turning to God and of believing in Jesus our Lord.
22 Ug karon, tan-awa, inagda sa Espiritu ako nagapadulong na sa Jerusalem sa walay pagpanghibalo unsay mahitabo kanako didto;
"And now, impelled by a sense of duty, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there,
23 gawas lamang nga sa mataglungsod nga akong adtoan ang Espiritu Santo nagapasidaan kanako nga ang mga talikala ug ang mga kasakit nagahulat kanako.
except that the Holy Spirit, at town after town, testifies to me that imprisonment and suffering are awaiting me.
24 Hinoon ang akong kinabuhi wala ko isipa nga bililhon alang kanako, basta lamang matuman ko ang akong paningkamot ug ang katungdanan nga akong nadawat gikan sa Ginoong Jesus sa pagpanghimatuod sa Maayong Balita sa grasya sa Dios.
But even the sacrifice of my life I count as nothing, if only I may perfect my earthly course, and be faithful to the duty which the Lord Jesus has entrusted to me of proclaiming, as of supreme importance, the Good News of God's grace.
25 Ug karon, tan-awa, ako nahibalo nga kamong tanan nga akong hingsuroyan sa pagmantala ko sa gingharian, dili na makakita pag-usab sa akong nawong.
"And now, I know that none of you among whom I have gone in and out proclaiming the coming of the Kingdom will any longer see my face.
26 Busa, niining adlawa ipanghimatuod ko kaninyo nga dili ako arang kadat-ugan sa dugo ni bisan kinsa kaninyo,
Therefore I protest to you to-day that I am not responsible for the ruin of any one of you.
27 kay wala ko man ililong kaninyo ang tanang pagbulot-an sa Dios.
For I have not shrunk from declaring to you God's whole truth.
28 Tagda ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon ug ang tibuok panon, nga niini ang Espiritu Santo mao ang naghimo kaninyong mga magbabantay, sa pagtagad sa iglesia sa Ginoo nga iyang nabatonan pinaagi sa iyang kaugalingong dugo.
"Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has placed you to take the oversight for Him and act as shepherds to the Church of God, which He has bought with His own blood.
29 Ako nahibalo nga sa makagikan na gani ako, pagasudlon kamog mabangis nga mga lobo nga dili maluoy sa panon;
I know that, when I am gone, cruel wolves will come among you and will not spare the flock;
30 ug gikan ra gayud kaninyo adunay managpanindog nga mga tawo nga magasultig mga binalit-ad aron sa pagpamira sa mga tinun-an ngadto kanila.
and that from among your own selves men will rise up who will seek with their perverse talk to draw away the disciples after them.
31 Busa magbantay kamo, ug hinumdumi ninyo nga sulod sa tulo ka tuig, sa gabii ug sa adlaw, kamong tanan wala ko undangi sa pagpahimangno uban sa mga luha.
Therefore be on the alert; and remember that, night and day, for three years, I never ceased admonishing every one, even with tears.
32 Ug karon itugyan ko kamo ngadto sa Dios ug sa pulong sa grasya niya nga may gahum sa pagpalig-on kaninyo ug sa paghatag kaninyo sa panulondon uban sa tanang mga binalaan.
"And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace. He is able to build you up and to give you your inheritance among His people.
33 Wala akoy gikaibgan nga salapi ni bisan kinsa, o bulawan, o bisti.
No one's silver or gold or clothing have I coveted.
34 Kamo gayud nasayud nga alang sa mga kinahanglanon ko ug sa akong mga kauban, maoy mialagad kining mga kamota.
You yourselves know that these hands of mine have provided for my own necessities and for the people with me.
35 Sa tanang mga butang gikapakita ko kaninyo nga ang mga maluyahon kinahanglan inyong tabangan pinaagi sa ingon nga pagbudlay, nga magahinumdum kamo sa pulong sa Ginoong Jesus, nga siya gayud mao ang nagsulti, `Labi pang bulahan ang paghatag kay sa pagdawat.'"
In all things I have set you an example, showing you that, by working as I do, you ought to help the weak, and to bear in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, "'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
36 Ug sa nakasulti na siya niini, siya miluhod ug nag-ampo uban kanilang tanan.
Having spoken thus, Paul knelt down and prayed with them all;
37 Ug silang tanan nanghilak ug si Pablo ilang gigakos sa liog ug gihalokan siya nila,
and with loud lamentation they all threw their arms round his neck, and kissed him lovingly,
38 nga nanagsubo labaw sa tanan tungod sa mga pulong nga iyang giingon, nga dili na sila makakita pag-usab sa iyang nawong. Ug siya ilang gihatud sa sakayan.
grieved above all things at his having told them that after that day they were no longer to see his face. And they went with him to the ship.
