2 Samuel 16
1 Ug sa diha nga si David nahilabang na ug diyutay sa kinatumyan sa tungasan, ania karon, si Siba, ang sulogoon ni Mephi-boseth mitagbo kaniya, uban ang duruha ka asno nga gimontorahan, ug sa ibabaw niini may duruha ka gatus ka buok nga tinapay, ug usa ka gatus ka pungpong nga pasas, ug usa ka gatus nga bunga sa ting-init, ug usa ka botella sa vino.
When David had gone a little beyond the summit, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth was there to meet him. He had a pair of saddled donkeys loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred clusters of raisins, a hundred summer fruits, and a skin of wine.
2 Ug ang hari miingon kang Siba: Unsay ipasabut mo niini? Ug si Siba miingon: Ang mga asno maoy alang sa panimalay sa hari aron kabay-an; ug ang tinapay ug ang bunga sa ting-init kalan-on sa mga batan-ong lalake; ug ang vino, nga maingon niini nga ilimnon sa mga gikapuyan didto sa kamingawan.
“Why do you have these?” asked the king. Ziba replied, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride, the bread and summer fruit are for the young men to eat, and the wine is to refresh those who become exhausted in the wilderness.”
3 Ug ang hari miingon: Hain ang anak nga lalake sa imong agalon? Ug si Siba miingon sa hari: Ania karon, siya mipabilin didto sa Jerusalem; kay siya miingon: Niining adlawa ang balay sa Israel nagauli kanako sa gingharian sa akong amahan.
“Where is your master’s grandson?” asked the king. And Ziba answered, “Indeed, he is staying in Jerusalem, for he has said, ‘Today, the house of Israel will restore to me the kingdom of my grandfather.’”
4 Unya miingon ang hari kang Siba: Ania karon, imo ang tanan nga mahibahin kang Mephi-boseth. Ug si Siba miingon: Ako nagahatag ug katahuran; itugot nga makakaplag ako ug kalooy sa imong mga mata, ginoo ko, Oh hari.
So the king said to Ziba, “All that belongs to Mephibosheth is now yours!” “I humbly bow before you,” said Ziba. “May I find favor in your eyes, my lord the king!”
5 Ug sa diha nga ang hari nga si David miabut na sa Bahurim, ania karon, may migula gikan didto nga usa ka tawo sa panimalay sa balay ni Saul, kinsang ngalan mao si Semei, ang anak nga lalake ni Gera; siya migula, ug nagpanunglo pa sa nagasingabut siya.
As King David approached Bahurim, a man from the family of the house of Saul was just coming out. His name was Shimei son of Gera, and as he approached, he kept yelling out curses.
6 Ug siya naglabay ug mga bato ngadto kang David, ug ngadto sa tanang mga sulogoon sa hari nga si David: ug ang tibook katawohan, ug ang tanang mga gamhanang mga tawo, diha sa iyang toong kamot ug sa iyang walang kamot.
He threw stones at David and at all the servants of the king, though the troops and all the mighty men were on David’s right and left.
7 Ug sa ingon niini namulong si Semei sa diha nga nagpanunglo siya: Pahawa, pahawa, ikaw tawo sa dugo, ug dautan nga tawo:
And as he yelled curses, Shimei said, “Get out, get out, you worthless man of bloodshed!
8 Si Jehova nagapasumbalik kanimo sa tanang dugo sa balay ni Saul kinsang dapit ikaw naghari; ug si Jehova naghatag sa gingharian ngadto sa kamot ni Absalom nga imong anak nga lalake; ug, ania karon, ikaw nakuha sa imong kaugalingong kadautan, tungod kay ikaw ang usa ka tawo sa dugo.
The LORD has paid you back for all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned, and the LORD has delivered the kingdom into the hand of your son Absalom. See, you have come to ruin because you are a man of bloodshed!”
9 Unya miingon si Abisai ang anak nga lalake ni Sarvia sa hari: Ngano nga magtunglo kining patay nga iro sa akong ginoong hari? Paadtoa ako, nagahangyo ako kanimo, ug longgoon ko ang iyang ulo.
Then Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and cut off his head!”
10 Ug ang hari miingon: Unsay akong labut kaninyo mga anak nga lalake ni Sarvia? Tungod kay siya nagatunglo ug tungod kay si Jehova miingon kaniya: Tungloha si David; kinsa man ang moingon: Nganong gibuhat mo kanamo ang ingon?
But the king replied, “What have I to do with you, O sons of Zeruiah? If he curses me because the LORD told him, ‘Curse David,’ who can ask, ‘Why did you do this?’”
11 Ug si David miingon kang Abisai ug sa tanan niyang mga sulogoon: Ania karon, ang akong anak nga lalake nga migula sa akong ginhawaan nagapangita sa akong kinabuhi: Daw unsa pa ka labaw nga pagabuhaton karon niining Benjaminhon? Pasagdi lamang siya; ug pasagdi nga siya magatunglo kay si Jehova nagasugo kaniya.
Then David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my own son, my own flesh and blood, seeks my life. How much more, then, this Benjamite! Leave him alone and let him curse me, for the LORD has told him so.
12 Tingali nga si Jehova motan-aw sa kadautan nga gibuhat kanako, ug nga si Jehova mobalus kanako ug maayo sa iyang pagtunglo kanako niining adlawa.
Perhaps the LORD will see my affliction and repay me with good for the cursing I receive today.”
13 Busa si David ug ang iyang mga tawo nanlakaw sa dalan; ug si Semei miadto sa kiliran sa bungtod nga atbang kaniya, ug nagapanunglo samtang nagalakaw siya, ug naglabay ug mga bato kaniya, ug nagsaliyab ug abug.
So David and his men proceeded along the road as Shimei went along the ridge of the hill opposite him. As Shimei went, he yelled curses, threw stones, and flung dust at David.
14 Ug ang hari ug ang tibook katawohan nga uban kaniya nanghiabut nga mga maluya; ug siya mipahulay didto.
Finally, the king and all the people with him arrived, exhausted. And there he refreshed himself.
15 Ug si Absalom ug ang tibook katawohan, ang mga tawo sa Israel, nangadto sa Jerusalem, ug si Achitophel uban kaniya.
Then Absalom and all the men of Israel came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel was with him.
16 Ug nahitabo kini, sa diha nga si Husai, ang Arachanon, nga higala ni David, nahiadto kang Absalom, nga si Husai miingon kang Absalom: Mabuhi ang hari, mabuhi ang hari.
And David’s friend Hushai the Archite went to Absalom and said to him, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
17 Ug si Absalom miingon kang Husai: Mao ba kini ang imong kalooy sa imong higala? Nganong wala ka umadto uban sa imong higala.
“Is this the loyalty you show your friend?” Absalom replied. “Why did you not go with your friend?”
18 Ug si Husai miingon kang Absalom: Dili; apan kinsay gipili ni Jehova, ug niining katawohan ug ang tanang mga tawo sa Israel maiya ako, ug kauban niya magapabilin ako.
“Not at all,” Hushai answered. “For the one chosen by the LORD, by the people, and by all the men of Israel—his I will be, and with him I will remain.
19 Ug usab, kang kinsa ba ako mag-alagad? Dili ba ako mag-alagad sa atubangan sa iyang anak nga lalake? Ingon nga ako nakaalagad sa atubangan sa imong amahan, ingon man usab ako sa imong atubangan.
Furthermore, whom should I serve if not the son? As I served in your father’s presence, so also I will serve in yours.”
20 Unya miingon si Absalom kang Achitophel: Ihatag ang imong pagtambag kong unsay atong buhaton.
Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give me counsel. What should we do?”
21 Ug si Achitophel miingon kang Absalom: Sumulod ka ngadto sa mga puyopuyo nga iyang gibilin sa pagbantay sa balay; ug ang tibook Israel makadungog nga ikaw gidumtan sa imong amahan: unya magmakusganon ang mga kamot sa tanan nga kauban nimo.
Ahithophel replied, “Sleep with your father’s concubines, whom he has left to keep the palace. When all Israel hears that you have become a stench to your father, then the hands of all who are with you will be strengthened.”
22 Busa gibuklaran nila si Absalom ug usa ka balong-balong sa ibabaw sa atop sa balay; gisulod ni Absalom ang mga puyopuyo sa iyang amahan sa atubangan sa tibook Israel.
So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
23 Ug ang tambag ni Achitophel nga iyang gihatag, niadtong mga adlawa ingon sa usa ka tawo nga nangutana sa pulong sa Dios: busa mao ang mga pagtambag ngatanan ni Achitophel uban sa duruha, kang David ug kang Absalom.
Now in those days the advice of Ahithophel was like the consultation of the word of God. Such was the regard that both David and Absalom had for Ahithophel’s advice.
