1 Karon nahitabo sa ikatolo ka tuig ni Oseas nga anak nga lalake ni Ela, hari sa Israel, nga si Ezechias ang anak nga lalake ni Achaz, hari sa Juda, nagsugod sa paghari.
And it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea' the son of Elah the king of Israel, that Hezekiah, the son of Achaz the king of Judah, became king.
2 Kaluhaan ug lima ka tuig ang iyang panuigon sa pagsugod niya sa paghari; ug siya naghari sa kaluhaan ug siyam ka tuig sa Jerusalem: ug ang ngalan sa iyang inahan mao si Abi, ang anak ni Zacarias.
Twenty and five years old was he when he became king, and twenty and nine years did he reign in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Abi, the daughter of Zechariah.
3 Ug siya nagbuhat sa matarung sa mga mata ni Jehova, sumala sa tanan nga gibuhat sa iyang amahan nga si David.
And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that David his father had done.
4 Iyang gikuha ang mga hatag-as nga dapit, ug gibunggo ang mga haligi nga bato, ug giputol ang Ashera: ug iyang giputo-puto ang halas nga tumbaga nga gibuhat ni Moises: kay hangtud niadtong mga adlawa ang mga anak sa Israel nagsunog ug incienso niini; ug kini iyang gitawag nga Nehustan.
He it was that removed the high-places, and broke the statues, and cut down the groves, and stamped in pieces the copper serpent that Moses had made; for unto those days were the children of Israel burning incense to it; and he called it Nechushtan.
5 Siya misalig kang Jehova ang Dios sa Israel; busa sunod kaniya walay sama kaniya sa taliwala sa tanang mga hari sa Juda, ni kanila nga nanghiuna kaniya.
In the Lord the God of Israel did he trust; and after him there was not his like among all the kings of Judah, nor among those that were before him.
6 Kay siya nakighiusa kang Jehova; siya wala mobiya sa pagnunot kaniya, kondili nagbantay sa iyang mga sugo nga gisugo ni Jehova kang Moises.
And he adhered to the Lord, and turned not away from following him; but he kept his commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.
7 Ug si Jehova nag-uban kaniya; bisan asa siya moadto siya nag-uswag: ug siya mialsa batok sa hari sa Asiria, ug wala moalagad kaniya.
And the Lord was with him; whithersoever he went forth he prospered: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
8 Iyang gisamaran ang mga Filistehanon ngadto sa Gasa ug sa mga utlanan didto, sukad sa torre sa magbalantay ngadto sa kinutaan nga ciudad.
He it was that smote the Philistines, as far as Gazzah, and its territory, from the tower of the watchmen up to the fortified city.
9 Ug nahitabo sa ikaupat ka tuig sa paghari ni Ezechias, nga mao ang ikapito ka tuig ni Oseas ang anak nga lalake ni Ela nga hari sa Israel, nga si Salmanasar nga hari sa Asiria mitungas batok sa Samaria, ug gilibutan kini.
And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea' the son of Elah the king of Israel, that Shalmanesser the king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it.
10 Ug sa katapusan sa tolo ka tuig ilang nakuha kini: sa ikaunom ka tuig ni Ezechias nga maoy ikasiyam ka tuig ni Oseas, hari sa Israel, ang Samaria nakuha.
And they captured it at the end of three years, —in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is the ninth year of Hoshea' the king of Israel, was Samaria captured.
11 Ug ang Israel gibihag sa hari sa Asiria ngadto sa Asiria, ug gibutang sila sa Hala, ug sa Habor, ang suba sa Gosan, ug sa mga ciudad sa mga Medohanon.
And the king of Assyria led away Israel as exiles unto Assyria, and transported them to Chalach and to Chabor, by the river of Gozan, and to the cities of Media;
12 Tungod kay wala sila tumoo sa tingog ni Jehova nga ilang Dios, apan minglapas sa iyang tugon, bisan sa tanan nga gisugo ni Moises ang alagad ni Jehova, ug wala mamati niini, ni magtuman niini.
Because they had not obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, but had transgressed his covenant, all that Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded; and had not obeyed, nor done accordingly.
13 Karon sa ikanapulo ug upat ka tuig ni Ezechias nga hari, si Senacherib nga hari sa Asiria miadto batok sa tanang mga kinutaan nga mga ciudad sa Juda, ug nakuha sila.
And in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib the king of Assyria come up against all the fortified cities of Judah, and seized on them.
14 Ug si Ezechias nga hari sa Juda nagpaadto sa hari sa Asiria ngadto sa Lachiz, nga nagaingon: Ako nakasala; pumauli ka gikan kanako: kadtong ipapas-an mo kanako akong dad-on. Ug ang hari sa Asiria nagsilpi kang Ezechias nga hari sa Juda, sa tolo ka gatus ka talento nga salapi ug katloan ka talento nga bulawan.
And Hezekiah the king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have sinned; retire from me: what thou wilt impose on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria exacted from Hezekiah the king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
15 Ug si Ezechias mihatag kaniya sa tanang salapi nga diha sa balay ni Jehova, ug diha sa mga bahandi sa balay sa hari.
And Hezekiah gave up all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king's house.
16 Niadtong panahona giputol ni Ezechias ang bulawan gikan sa mga ganghaan sa templo ni Jehova, ug gikan sa mga haligi nga gihal-upan ni Ezechias nga hari sa Juda, ug gihatag kini sa hari sa Asiria.
At that time did Hezekiah cut off [the gold from] the doors of the temple of the Lord, and from the door-sills which Hezekiah the king of Judah had overlaid, and gave the same to the king of Assyria.
17 Ug ang hari sa Asiria nagpadala kang Thartan, ug kang Rabsaris, ug kang Rabsaces gikan sa Lachiz ngadto kang Ezechias nga hari uban ang usa ka dakung panon sa kasundalohan ngadto sa Jerusalem. Ug sila mingtungas ug ming-adto sa Jerusalem. Ug sa paghiabut nila, nangadto sila ug nanindog tupad sa kanal sa taastaas nga danaw sa tubig nga anaa sa dalan sa uma sa maglalaba.
And the king of Assyria sent Tharthan and Rub-sariss and Rabshakeh from Lachish to king Hezekiah with a strong army against Jerusalem. And they went up and came to Jerusalem; and when they were come up, they came and halted by the aqueduct of the upper pool, which is on the highway of the washer's field.
18 Ug sa pagtawag nila sa hari, may minggula kanila nga si Eliacim, ang anak nga lalake ni Hilcias nga sinaligan sa sulod-balay, ug si Sebna, ang escriba, ug si Joah, ang anak nga lalake ni Asaph nga kalihim.
And they called for the king, when there came out to them Elyakim the son of Chilkiyahu, who was superintendent over the house, and Shebnah the scribe, and Yoach the son of Assaph the recorder.
19 Ug si Rabsaces miingon kanila: Umingon kamo karon kang Ezechias, Kini mao ang giingon sa dakung hari ang hari sa Asiria: Unsang pagsaliga ang imong gilauman?
And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus hath said the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherewith thou hast trusted?
20 Ikaw namulong (apan sila pulos mga pulong nga walay hinungdan): May tambag ug kusog alang sa gubat. Karon kang kinsa ang imong pagsalig, nga misukol man ikaw batok kanako?
Thou saidst, but it was only a word uttered with the lips, [I have] counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom didst thou trust, that thou rebelledst against me?
21 Karon, tan-awa, ikaw nagasalig sa sungkod niining basag nga tangbo, bisan sa ibabaw sa Egipto; diin kong ang usa ka tawo mosalig, kini molapus sa iyang kamot ug molagbas niini: busa ingon man kang Faraon nga hari sa Egipto sa tanan nga mosalig kaniya.
Now, behold, thou trustedst thee upon yon cracked reed-staff, upon Egypt, which, if a man lean on it, will enter into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh the king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
22 Apan kong moingon kamo kanako: Kami nagasalig kang Jehova nga among Dios; dili ba kana siya, kansang hatag-as nga mga dapit, ug kansang mga halaran gikuha ni Ezechias, ug namulong sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem: Kamo kinahanglan magsimba sa atubangan niining halarana sa Jerusalem?
But if ye should say unto me, In the Lord our God have we trusted: is he not the one whose high-places and whose altars Hezekiah hath removed, when he said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Before this altar shall ye prostrate yourselves in Jerusalem?
23 Busa karon, ako mangaliyupo kanimo: Sumaad ka nga may mga pasalig, sa akong agalon ang hari sa Asiria, ug ako magahatag kanimo ug duha ka libo nga kabayo, kong makahimo ikaw sa imong bahin sa pagbutang kanila sa mga magkakabayo.
And now, I pray thee, enter into a contest with my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.
24 Unsaon man nimo sa pagpalingiw sa nawong sa usa ka capitan sa labing ubos sa mga alagad sa akong agalon, ug magbutang ka sa imong pagsalig sa Egipto tungod sa mga carro ug sa mga magkakabayo?
How then wilt thou turn back the face of a single chieftain among the least of my master's servants, while thou hast put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen!
25 Sa wala si Jehova nahitungas ba ako karon nga batok niining dapita sa paglaglag niini? Si Jehova miingon kanako: Tumungas ka batok niining yutaa ug laglagon mo kini.
Now am I come up without the Lord ['s will] against this place to destroy it? The Lord hath said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
26 Unya namulong si Eliacim ang anak nga lalake ni Hilcias, ug si Sebna, ug si Joah, kang Rabsaces: Sumulti ka, ako nangaliyupo kanimo, sa imong mga alagad sa pinulongan nga Sirianhon; kay kami makasabut niana; ug ayaw pagpakigsulti kanamo sa pinulongan nga Judianhon, sa mga igdulungog sa mga katawohan, nga anaa sa ibabaw sa kuta.
Then said Elyakim the son of Chilkiyahu, and Shebnah, and Yoach, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, we pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not with us in the Jewish language before the ears of the people that are on the wall.
27 Apan si Rabsaces namulong kanila: Nagpaadto ba kanako ang akong agalon sa imong agalon, ug kanimo, aron sa pagpamulong niining mga pulonga? Wala ba siya magpaadto kanako ngadto sa mga tawo nga nanglingkod sa ibabaw sa kuta, sa pagkaon sa ilang kaugalingong kinalibang, ug sa pag-inum sa kaugalingon nilang tubig uban kaninyo?
But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master then sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? is it not rather to the men who sit on the wall, that they may eat their own excrement, and drink their own urine with you?
28 Unya si Rabsaces mitindog, ug misinggit sa usa ka hataas nga tingog sa pinulongan nga Judianhon, ug namulong, nga nagaingon: Pamation ninyo ang pulong sa dakung hari, ang hari sa Asiria.
Then stood Rabshakeh up and called out with a loud voice in the Jewish language, and spoke, and said, Hear ye the word of the great king, the king of Assyria:
29 Sa ingon niini namulong ang hari: Ayaw pagpalimbonga ninyo si Ezechias; kay siya dili makapagawas kaninyo gikan sa iyang kamot.
Thus hath said the king. Let not Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand;
30 Dili usab si Ezechias makahimo kaninyo sa pagpasalig kang Jehova, sa pag-ingon: Si Jehova sa pagkatinuod magaluwas kanato, ug kining ciudad dili ihatag sa kamot sa hari sa Asiria.
Neither let Hezekiah induce you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city will not be given up into the hand of the king of Assyria:
31 Ayaw kamo pagtagad kang Ezechias; kay kini mao ang gipamulong sa hari sa Asiria: Himoa ang inyong pakigdait uban kanako, ug umari kanako; ug kumaon ang tagsatagsa sa iyang balagon sa parras, ug ang tagsatagsa sa iyang higuera, ug uminum kamo nga tagsatagsa sa tubig sa iyang kaugalingong atabay;
Hearken not to Hezekiah; for thus hath said the king of Assyria, Make a treaty of peace with me, and come out to me, and eat ye every man of his own vine, and every man of his fig-tree, and drink ye every man the waters of his cistern;
32 Hangtud nga ako moanhi ug dad-on ko kamo ngadto sa usa ka yuta sama sa inyong kaugalingong yuta, usa ka yuta sa trigo, ug sa vino nga bag-o, usa ka yuta sa tinapay ug mga kaparrasan, usa ka yuta sa mga kahoy nga olivo ug sa dugos, aron kamo mangabuhi, ug dili mangamatay: ug ayaw pagpamati kang Ezechias, kong siya magalukmay kaninyo, nga magaingon: Si Jehova magaluwas kanato.
Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil-olive trees, and of honey, that ye may live, and not die; and hearken not unto Hezekiah; for he will mislead you, saying, The Lord will deliver us.
33 May mga dios ba sa mga nasud nga nakaluwas gayud sa iyang yuta gikan sa kamot sa hari sa Asiria?
Have the gods of the nations delivered in anywise each his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
34 Hain ang mga dios sa Hamath, ug sa Arphad? Hain ang mga dios sa Sepharvaim, sa Ena, ug Iba? Naluwas ba nila ang Samaria gikan sa akong kamot.
Where are the gods of Chamath, and of Arpad? where are the gods of Sepharvayim, Hena', and 'Ivvah? have they then delivered Samaria out of my hand?
35 Kinsa ba sa mga dios sa tanan nga kayutaan, nga nakaluwas sa ilang yuta gikan sa akong kamot, nga si Jehova magaluwas sa Jerusalem gikan sa akong kamot?
Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that the Lord should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?
36 Apan ang katawohan nangahilum, ug wala tumubag kaniya sa usa ka pulong; kay ang sugo sa hari nagaingon: Ayaw kamo pagtubag kaniya.
But the people remained silent, and answered him not a word; for it was the king's command, saying, Ye shall not answer him.
37 Unya miabut si Eliacim, ang anak nga lalake ni Hilcias nga sinaligan sa panimalay, ug si Sebna nga escriba, ug si Joah ang anak nga lalake ni Asaph ang kalihim, ngadto kang Ezechias ginisi ang ilang mga saput, ug nagsugilon kaniya sa mga pulong ni Rabsaces.
Then came Elyakim the son of Chilkiyah, who was superintendent over the house, and Shebnah the scribe, and Yoach the son of Assaph the recorder, to Hezekiah with their clothes rent; and they told unto him the words of Rabshakeh.
