2 Cronicas 9
1 Ug sa pagkadungog sa reina sa Seba sa kabantug ni Salomon, siya miadto sa Jerusalem aron sa pagsulay kang Salomon sa mga malisud nga pangutana, uban ang usa ka dakung panon nga magsusunod, ug mga camello nga gilulanan ug mga panakot; ug bulawan nga daghan kaayo, ug mga bililhon nga bato: ug sa paghiadto niya kang Salomon, siya nakigsulti kaniya mahitungod sa tanan nga diha sa iyang kasingkasing.
The queen who ruled [the] Sheba [area in Arabia] heard that Solomon had become famous, so she traveled to Jerusalem to ask him questions that were difficult [to answer]. She came with a large group of servants, and she brought camels that were loaded with spices, and valuable gems, and a lot of gold. When she met Solomon, she asked him questions about all the things/topics in which she was interested.
2 Ug gisuginlan siya ni Salomon sa tanan niyang mga pangutana; ug walay bisan unsang natago kang Salomon nga wala niya ikasugilon kaniya. p
Solomon answered all her questions. He explained everything that she asked about, even things that were very difficult.
3 Ug sa pagkakita sa reina sa Seba sa kaalam ni Salomon, ug sa balay nga iyang gitukod,
The queen realized that Solomon was very wise. She saw his palace,
4 Ug sa makaon nga diha sa iyang lamesa, ug sa paglingkod sa iyang mga sulogoon, ug sa pagtambong sa iyang mga alagad, ug sa ilang mga bisti, sa iyang mga magdadala sa copa usab, ug sa ilang mga bisti, ug sa iyang hagdanan nga iyang giagian sa pag-adto niya sa balay ni Jehova; wala nay espiritu diha kaniya.
she saw the food that was served on his table [every day]; she saw how his officials were seated at the table, their uniforms, the servants who served the food and wine, and the sacrifices that he took to the temple to be completely burned on the altar. She was extremely amazed.
5 Ug siya miingon sa hari: Matuod ang sugilon nga akong nadungog sa akong kaugalingong yuta mahitungod sa imong mga buhat, ug sa imong kaalam.
She said to the king, “Everything that I heard in my own country about you and about how wise you are is true!
6 Bisan pa niana, wala ako motoo sa ilang mga pulong, hangtud nga ako mianhi, ug ang akong mga mata nakakita niana; ug, ania karon, ang katunga sa kadaku sa imong kaalam wala ikasugilon kanako: ikaw nagalabaw sa kadungganan nga akong nadungog.
But I did not believe it was true until I came here and saw it myself. You are [extremely wise and rich, ] more than what people told me.
7 Malipayon ang imong mga tawo, ug malipayon kining imong mga alagad, nga nagatindog kanunay sa imong atubangan, ug nagapatalinghug sa imong kaalam.
The men who work for you are very fortunate! Your officials who are constantly standing in front of you and listening to the wise things that you say are also fortunate!
8 Dalayegon si Jehova nga imong Dios, nga nahimuot diha kanimo, sa pagpalingkod kanimo ibabaw sa iyang trono, aron mahimong hari alang kang Jehova nga imong Dios; tungod kay ang imong Dios nahagugma sa Israel, sa paglig-on kanila sa walay katapusan, busa gihimo ikaw niya nga hari ibabaw nila, aron sa pagbuhat sa justicia ug sa pagkamatarung.
Praise Yahweh your God, who has shown that he is pleased with you by appointing you to be the king of Israel for him. God has always loved the Israeli people, and desires to assist them forever, and therefore he has appointed you to be their king, in order that you will rule them fairly and righteously.”
9 Ug siya mihatag sa hari sa usa ka gatus ug kaluhaan ka talento nga bulawan, ug mga panakot nga daghan kaayo, ug mga bililhon nga bato: walay laing panakot nga maingon sa gihatag sa reina sa Seba kang Salomon.
Then the queen gave to Solomon about 4-1/2 tons of gold and a large amount of spices and gems. Never had King Solomon received more spices than the queen gave him at that time.
10 Ug ang mga alagad usab ni Huram, ug ang mga alagad ni Salomon, nga nanagdala ug bulawan gikan sa Ophir, nanagdala ug mga kahoy nga almug ug mga bato nga bililhon.
King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba everything that she wanted. He gave her more than she had given to him. Then she and those who came with her returned to her own land. [In the ships that belonged to King Hiram, ] Hiram’s workers and Solomon’s workers brought gold from Ophir. They also brought a large amount of juniper wood and gems. King Solomon [told his workers] to use that wood to make railings in the temple and in his palace and also to make harps and lyres for the musicians. That wood was the the finest wood that had ever been seen in Israel.
11 Ug gihimo sa hari ang mga almug nga kahoy nga mga azotea sa balay ni Jehova, ug sa balay sa hari, ug mga alpa ug mga kinuldasan nga tulonggon alang sa mga mag-aawit; ug walay nakita nga maingon niana kanhi sa yuta sa Juda.
12 Ug gihatag ni hari Salomon sa reina sa Seba ang tanan nga iyang gitinguha, bisan unsa sa iyang gipangayo, gawas pa kadtong iyang gidala ngadto sa hari. Busa siya mipauli, ug miadto sa iyang kaugalingong yuta, siya ug ang iyang mga alagad.
13 Karon ang kabug-aton sa bulawan nga abut ni Salomon sa usa ka tuig unom ka gatus ug kan-uman ug unom ka talento nga bulawan,
Each year there was brought to Solomon a total of 25 tons of gold.
14 Labut pa sa mga gipanagdala sa mga magpapatigayon ug sa mga magbabaligya. Ug ang tanang hari sa Arabia ug ang mga gobernador sa yuta nanagdala sa bulawan ug salapi ngadto kang Salomon.
That was in addition to the [taxes] paid to him by the merchants and traders. Also, the kings of Arabia and the governors of [the districts in] Israel brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15 Ug si hari Salomon naghimo sa duha ka gatus ka kalasag sa pinikpik nga bulawan; unom ka gatus ka siclo sa pinikpik nga bulawan ang naigoan sa usa ka kalasag.
King Solomon’s [workers took this] gold [and] hammered [it] into thin sheets and covered 200 large shields with those thin sheets of gold; they put almost 7-1/2 pounds of gold on each shield.
16 Ug siya naghimo sa totolo ka gatus ka taming nga pinikpik nga bulawan; tolo ka gatus ka siclo nga bulawan ang naigoan sa usa ka taming; ug gibutang sila sa hari sa sulod sa balay sa kalasangan sa Libano.
His [workers] made 300 [smaller] shields. They covered each of them with almost 4 pounds of gold. Then the king put those shields in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon.
17 Labut pa, ang hari naghimo sa usa ka trono nga garing, ug gisapawan kini sa lunsay nga bulawan.
His [workers] also made for him a large throne. [Part of] it was covered with [decorations made from] ivory and [part of it was covered] with very fine gold.
18 Ug may unom ka ang-ang ngadto sa trono, uban sa tumbanan nga bulawan, nga gitaod sa trono, ug may kuptanan sa luyo ug luyo tupad sa dapit sa trono, ug duruha ka leon nga nanagtindog tupad sa mga kuptanan.
There were six steps in front of the throne. There was a gold footstool that was attached to the throne. At each side of the throne there was an armrest, and alongside each armrest there was a [small statue of a] lion.
19 Ug napulo ug duha ka leon ang nanagtindog sa luyo ug luyo ibabaw sa unom ka ang-ang: walay sama niana nga nabuhat sa fisan diin nga gingharian.
On the six steps there were twelve statues of lions, one on each side. No throne like that had ever existed in any other kingdom.
20 Ug ang tanan nga ilimnan nga copa ni hari Salomon lunsay bulawan, ug ang mga copa sa balay sa kakahoyan sa Libano hinimo sa lunsay nga bulawan: ang salapi wala panumbalinga sa mga adlaw ni Salomon.
All of Solomon’s cups were made of gold, and all the various dishes in the Hall of the Forest of Lebanon were made of gold. [They did not make things from silver], because during the years that Solomon [ruled], silver was not considered to be valuable.
21 Kay ang hari may mga sakayan nga mag-adtoan sa Tarsis uban sa mga sulogoon ni Huram; makausa sa matag-tolo ka tuig magdunggoan ang mga sakayan sa Tarsis, managdala sa bulawan, ug salapi, garing, ug mga onggoy ug mga pavo.
The king had a fleet of ships that sailed with the ships that King Hiram owned. Every three years the ships returned [from the places to which they had sailed], bringing gold, silver, ivory, monkeys, and baboons (OR, peacocks).
22 Busa si hari Salomon milabaw sa tanang mga hari sa yuta sa kadato ug kaalam.
King Solomon became richer and wiser than any other king on the earth.
23 Ug ang tanang mga hari sa yuta nanagpangita sa presencia ni Salomon, aron sa pagpamati sa iyang kaalam, nga gibutang sa Dios sa iyang kasingkasing.
Kings from all over the world wanted to come and listen to the wise things that Solomon said, things that God had enabled him to know.
24 Ug ang tagsatagsa ka tawo nagdala sa iyang buhis, mga copa nga salapi, ug mga copa nga bulawan, ug mga bisti, hinagiban, ug mga panakot, mga kabayo, ug mga mula, ang maong gidaghanon tuigtuig.
All the people who came to him brought presents: They brought things made from silver or gold, or robes, or weapons, or spices, or horses, or mules. The people continued to do this every year.
25 Ug si Salomon may upat ka libo nga caballereza sa mga kabayo ug mga carro, ug napulo ug duha ka libo nga mga magkakabayo nga iyang gibutang sa mga ciudad sa carro, ug uban sa hari sa Jerusalem
Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his horses and chariots, and 12,000 horses. Solomon put some of them in Jerusalem and some of them in other cities where he kept his chariots.
26 Ug siya naghari sa tanang kaharian sukad sa Suba hangtud ngadto sa yuta sa mga Filistehanon, ug ngadto sa utlanan sa Egipto.
Solomon ruled over all the kings in the area from the [Euphrates] River [in the northeast] to the Philistia area [in the west] to the border of Egypt [in the south].
27 Ug gihimo sa hari ang salapi sa Jerusalem nga daw ingon sa mga bato, ug ang cedro gihimo niya nga daw mga kahoy nga sicomoro nga anaa sa kapatagan, tungod sa kadaghan.
[During the years that Solomon was] king, [he] caused silver to become as common in Jerusalem as stones; and he caused cedar trees in the foothills of Judah to become as plentiful as fig trees.
28 Ug sila nanagdala ug mga kabayo alang kang Salomon gikan sa Egipto, ug gikan sa tanang kayutaan.
Solomon’s agents brought horses from [the] Musri [area] and other places.
29 Karon ang uban nga mga buhat ni Salomon, ang sinugdan ug katapusan, wala ba sila mahisulat diha sa kasaysayan ni Nathan nga manalagna, ug sa pagtagna ni Ahias nga Silonhon, ug sa mga panan-awon ni Iddo ang manalagna mahitungod kang Jeroboam ang anak nga lalake ni Nabat?
Lists of all the other things that Solomon did are recorded in the scrolls written by the prophet Nathan and by the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh [city], and in [the scroll in which were written] the visions that the prophet Iddo saw concerning [King] Jeroboam.
30 Ug si Salomon naghari sa Jerusalem ibabaw sa tibook Israel sulod sa kap-atan ka tuig.
Solomon ruled from Jerusalem all of Israel for 40 years.
31 Ug si Salomon natulog uban sa iyang mga amahan, ug siya gilubong didto sa ciudad ni David nga iyang amahan: ug si Roboam ang iyang anak nga lalake mihari ilis kaniya.
Then Solomon died and was buried in [the part of Jerusalem called] ‘The City of David’. And his son Rehoboam became the king.
