2 Cronicas 30
1 Ug gipaadtoan ni Ezechias ang tibook Israel ug Juda, ug gisulatan usab ang mga taga-Ephraim ug mga taga-Manases, nga umadto sila sa balay ni Jehova sa Jerusalem, aron sa pagsaulog sa pasko ni Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel.
The king and his officials and all the other people who had gathered in Jerusalem wanted to celebrate the Passover Festival. But they were not able to celebrate it at the usual time, because many of the priests had still not performed the rituals to purify themselves; therefore they were not allowed to do serve in the festival. Also, everyone had still not come to Jerusalem [to celebrate the Passover]. So they decided to celebrate it one month later than usual.
2 Kay ang hari nagpakitambag, ug ang iyang mga principe ug ang tibook katilingban sa Jerusalem, sa pagsaulog sa pasko sa ikaduhang bulan.
3 Kay sila wala makasaulog niadtong panahona, tungod kay ang mga sacerdote wala pa managbalaan sa ilang kaugalingon sa igo nga gidaghanon, ni managkatigum ang katawohan sa ilang kaugalingon sa tingub didto sa Jerusalem.
4 Ug ang butang matarung sa mga mata sa hari ug sa tibook katilingban.
The king and all the other people who had gathered thought that was a good plan.
5 Busa sila naghimo ug usa ka sugo aron sa pagpahibalo sa tibook Israel, sukad sa Beer-seba bisan ngadto sa Dan, nga sila umanha aron sa pagsaulog sa pasko kang Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel, didto sa Jerusalem: kay wala nila sauloga kana sa igong gidaghanon sa paagi sumala sa nahasulat.
So they decided to send messages to all the towns in Judah and in Israel, from Beersheba [in the far south] to Dan [in the far north], including towns in the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, to invite people to come to the temple in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover [Festival] to [honor] Yahweh, the God whom the Israeli people [worshiped/belonged to]. Many of the people had not previously celebrated that festival, even though it had been written [in the laws of Moses that they should do that].
6 Busa ang mga tigdala sa sulat nangadto dala ang mga sulat nga gikan sa hari ug sa iyang mga principe ngadto sa tibook Israel ug Juda, ug sumala sa sugo sa hari, nga nagaingon: Kamong mga anak sa Israel, balik pag-usab kang Jehova, ang Dios ni Abraham, ni Isaac, ug ni Israel, aron siya mobalik ngadto sa nanghibilin kaninyo nga nakagawas gikan sa kamot sa hari sa Asiria.
Obeying what the king commanded, messengers went throughout Judah and Israel, taking messages that had been written by the king and his officials. This is what they wrote: “You Israeli people, you who survived after being slaves of the kings of Assyria, return to Yahweh, the God whom [our great ancestors] Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob [worshiped/belonged to], in order that he may return to you. Your fathers and brothers did not faithfully obey Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped].
7 Ug ayaw kamo pagpanig-ingon sa inyong mga amahan, ug ingon sa inyong mga kaigsoonan, nga minglapas batok kang Jehova, ang Dios sa ilang mga amahan, mao nga iyang gitugyan sila sa kalaglagan, ingon sa inyong nakita.
Do not act like they did, because what they did caused other people to become disgusted with them.
8 Karon ayaw kamo pagpatikig sa inyong liog, sama sa inyong mga amahan; kondili nga itugyan ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon kang Jehova, ug sumulod sa iyang balaan nga puloy-anan, nga iyang gibalaan sa walay katapusan, ug alagara si Jehova nga inyong Dios, aron nga ang iyang mabangis nga kasuko mahilayo kaninyo.
Do not be stubborn as our ancestors were. Do what Yahweh desires. Come [to Jerusalem] to the temple, which he has set apart forever. Do what pleases Yahweh our God, in order that he will no longer be angry with you.
9 Kay kong kamo mobalik kang Jehova, ang inyong kaigsoonan ug ang inyong mga anak makakaplag ug kalooy gikan kanila nga nagbihag kanila, ug mahibalik pag-usab niining yutaa: kay si Jehova nga inyong Dios puno sa gracia ug maloloy-on, ug dili magalingiw sa iyang nawong gikan kaninyo, kong kamo mobalik kaniya.
If you return to Yahweh, the people who have captured our brothers [and sisters] and our children will be kind to them, and allow them to return to this land. Do not forget that Yahweh our God is kind and merciful. If you return to him, he will no longer reject you.”
10 Busa ang mga tigdala sa sulat ming-agi gikan sa usa ka ciudad ngadto sa usa ka ciudad latas sa tibook kayutaan sa Ephraim, ug sa Manases, bisan ngadto sa Zabulon: apan ang katawohan nangatawa sa pagtamay kanila, ug pagyubit kanila.
The messengers went to all the towns in the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far [north] as the tribe of Zebulun, [and gave them this message, ] but most of the people there scorned them and ridiculed them.
11 Bisan pa niana may pipila ka mga tawo sa Aser ug sa Manases ug sa Zabulon nga nagmapainubsanon sa ilang kaugalingon, ug miabut ngadto sa Jerusalem.
But some of the people of [the tribes of] Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.
12 Sa Juda usab miabut ang kamot sa Dios sa paghatag kanila ug usa ka kasingkasing, sa pagbuhat sa sugo sa hari ug sa mga principe pinaagi sa pulong ni Jehova.
Also in Judah God motivated the people to be united in wanting to do what Yahweh wanted them to do, which is what the king and his officials had told them to do in the message that they sent.
13 Ug didtoy nagtigum sa Jerusalem nga daghan kaayong katawohan aron sa pagsaulog sa fiesta sa tinapay nga walay levadura sa ikaduha ka bulan, usa ka daku kaayong katilingban.
So a huge crowd of people gathered in Jerusalem in May, to celebrate the Festival of Eating Unleavened Bread.
14 Ug sila mingtindog ug gisalikway ang mga halaran nga diha sa Jerusalem, ug ang tanang mga halaran alang sa incienso ilang gikuha, ug gipanalibay kini ngadto sa sapa sa Cedron.
They removed the altars [of Baal] in Jerusalem and took away the altars for burning incense [to honor other gods, and burned them] in Kidron Valley.
15 Unya ilang gipatay ang pasko sa ikanapulo ug upat ka adlaw sa ikaduhang bulan: ug ang mga sacerdote ug mga Levihanon nangaulaw, ug nagpabalaan sa ilang kaugalingon, ug nanagdala sa mga halad-nga-sinunog ngadto sa balay ni Jehova.
They slaughtered the Passover lambs on the fourteenth day of that month. Some of the priests and the other descendants of Levi were ashamed [because they had not performed the rituals to cause them to be acceptable to work for Yahweh]. So they performed those rituals, and brought to the temple animals to be completely burned [on the altar].
16 Ug sila mingtindog sa ilang dapit sumala sa ilang pagkasunodsunod, sumala sa sa Kasugoan ni Moises nga tawo sa Dios: ang mga sacerdote nanagsablig sa dugo nga ilang nadawat gikan sa kamot sa mga Levihanon.
Then they stood at the places where Moses had written in his laws that they should stand. Then the descendants of Levi gave to the priests [bowls containing blood of the animals that were being sacrificed], and the priests sprinkled [the altar] with some of the blood.
17 Kay may daghan diha sa katilingban nga wala managpabalaan sa ilang kaugalingon: busa ang mga Levihanon adunay sugo sa pagpatay sa mga pasko alang sa tagsatagsa nga dili mahinlo, aron sa pagbalaan kanila kang Jehova.
Many people in the crowd had not purified themselves, and therefore they were not able to kill the lambs [and dedicate them] to Yahweh. So it was necessary for the descendants of Levi to kill the lambs for them.
18 Kay usa ka panon sa katawohan, bisan daghan nga gikan sa Ephraim, ug sa Manases, sa Issachar ug sa Zabulon, nga wala managhinlo sa ilang kaugalingon, apan sila nangaon sa pasko nga wala mahasubay sa nahasulat. Kay si Ezechias nag-ampo alang kanila, nga nagaingon: Ang maayo nga si Jehova magapasaylo unta sa tagsatagsa.
Although most of the people who had come from [the tribes of] Ephraim, Manasseh, and Issachar had not purified themselves, they ate the food of the Passover Festival anyway, ignoring the rules written [by Moses]. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying “Yahweh, you always do what is good; I pray that you will forgive everyone
19 Nga nagaandam sa iyang kasingkasing sa pagpangita sa Dios, Jehova, ang Dios sa iyang mga amahan, bisan pa siya dili mahinlo sumala sa paghinlo sa balaan nga puloy-anan.
who sincerely wants to honor you, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], even if they have not purified themselves by obeying the sacred laws that you gave to us.”
20 Ug si Jehova nagpatalinghug kang Ezechias, ug giayo ang katawohan.
And Yahweh heard what Hezekiah prayed; he forgave the people, [and did not punish them].
21 Ug ang mga anak sa Israel nga diha sa Jerusalem nanagsaulog sa fiesta sa tinapay nga walay levadura sulod sa pito ka adlaw nga inubanan sa dakung kalipay; ug ang mga Levihanon ug ang mga sacerdote nanagdayeg kang Jehova adlaw-adlaw, nga nanag-awit uban sa mga matunog nga tulonggon ngadto kang Jehova.
The Israeli people who were there in Jerusalem celebrated the Festival of Eating Unleavened Bread for seven days. They rejoiced greatly as they celebrated, while the priests and other descendants of Levi sang to Yahweh every day, and played musical instruments to [praise] God.
22 Ug si Ezechias namulong nga malipayon sa tanang mga Levihanon nga may maayong salabutan sa pag-alagad kang Jehova. Busa sila nangaon sulod sa tibook nga pito ka adlaw sa fiesta, nga nanaghalad sa mga halad-sa-pakigdait, ug nanagsugid kang Jehova, ang Dios sa ilang mga amahan.
Hezekiah thanked all the descendants of Levi for doing this work for Yahweh, and for very skillfully leading the people who were worshiping. For those seven days the people ate the Passover food and brought offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh and praised Yahweh, the God whom their ancestors [belonged to/had worshiped].
23 Ug ang tibook katilingban nagpakitambag sa pagsaulog sa laing pito ka adlaw; ug sila nanagsaulog ug laing pito ka adlaw uban sa kalipay.
Then the whole group decided to celebrate for seven more days, so they did: They celebrated joyfully for seven more days.
24 Kay si Ezechias nga hari sa Juda mihatag sa katilingban alang sa mga halad usa ka libo nga vaca ug pito ka libong carnero; ug ang mga principe minghatag sa katilingban sa usa ka libong vaca ug napulo ka libong carnero: ug daghang mga sacerdote nga nanagpabalaan sa ilang kaugalingon.
King Hezekiah provided 1,000 bulls and 7,000 sheep to be slaughtered for the people [to eat during the festival], and the officials also gave them 1,000 bulls and 10,000 sheep and goats. Many priests consecrated themselves.
25 Ug ang tibook katilingban sa Juda, uban sa mga sacerdote ug sa mga Levihanon, ug ang tibook katilingban nga minggula gikan sa Israel, ug ang mga dumuloong nga minggula gikan sa yuta sa Israel, ug kadtong nanagpuyo sa Juda, nangalipay.
All the people of Judah rejoiced, including the priests and other descendants of Levi and all the people from Israel who had come, and including some from other countries who were living in Israel and some from other countries who were living in Judah.
26 Busa may usa ka dakung kalipay diha sa Jerusalem; kay sukad sa panahon ni Salomon nga anak nga lalake ni David hari sa Israel walay sama niana sa Jerusalem.
Everyone in Jerusalem was very joyful, because nothing like this had happened in Jerusalem since the time when David’s son Solomon was the king of Israel.
27 Unya ang mga sacerdote ang mga Levihanon mingtindog ug gipanalanginan ang katawohan: ug ang ilang tingog nadungog, ug ang ilang pag-ampo midangat sa iyang balaang puloy-anan, bisan ngadto sa langit.
The priests and the other descendants of Levi stood up to bless the people, and God heard them in heaven, the holy place where he lives.
