2 Cronicas 25

1 Ug si Amasias kaluhaan ug lima ka tuig ang panuigon sa pagsugod niya paghari; ug siya naghari sulod sa kaluhaan ug siyam ka tuig sa Jerusalem: ug ang ngalan sa iyang inahan mao si Joadan, sa Jerusalem.

Amaziah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years; his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

2 Ug siya nagbuhat niadtong matarung sa mga mata ni Jehova, apan wala ubani sa usa ka hingpit nga kasingkasing.

He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but his heart was not completely true to the Lord.

3 Karon nahitabo, sa diha nga ang gingharian nalig-on na diha kaniya, nga iyang gipamatay ang mga sulogoon nga nanagpatay sa hari nga iyang amahan.

Now when he became strong in the kingdom, he put to death those men who had taken the life of the king his father.

4 Apan wala niya patya ang ilang mga anak, kondili nagbuhat hinoon sumala sa nahasulat sa Kasugoan sa basahon ni Moises, sumala sa gisugo ni Jehova, nga nagaingon: Ang mga amahan dili mamatay alang sa mga anak, ni ang mga anak mamatay alang sa mga amahan; kondili ang tagsatagsa ka tawo mamatay alang sa iyang kaugalingong sala.

But he did not put their children to death, for he kept the orders of the Lord recorded in the book of the law of Moses, saying, The fathers are not to be put to death for their children or the children for their fathers, but a man is to be put to death for the sin which he himself has done.

5 Labut pa gitigum pagtingub ni Amasias ang Juda, ug gihusay sila sumala sa mga balay sa ilang mga amahan, ilalum sa mga capitan sa linibo ug mga capitan sa mga ginatus, bisan ang tibook Juda ug Benjamin: ug iyang giihap sila sukad sa may kaluhaan ka tuig ang panuigon ug paingon sa itaas, ug may nakaplagan kanila nga totolo ka gatus ka libong tawo nga mga pinili, takus nga makaadto sa gubat, nga makagamit sa bangkaw ug taming.

Then Amaziah got all Judah together and put them in order by their families, even all Judah and Benjamin, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds: and he had those of twenty years old and over numbered, and they came to three hundred thousand of the best fighting-men, trained for war and in the use of the spear and the body-cover.

6 Siya misuhol usab sa usa ka gatus ka libo nga mga gamhanang tawo sa kaisug gikan sa Israel sa usa ka gatus ka talento nga salapi.

And for a hundred talents of silver, he got a hundred thousand fighting-men from Israel.

7 Apan may miabut nga usa ka tawo sa Dios kaniya, nga nagaingon: Oh hari, ayaw pagpaubana ang lasundalohan sa Israel kanimo; kay si Jehova wala magauban sa Israel, nga kong sayron, kauban sa tanang mga anak sa Ephraim.

But a man of God came to him, saying, O king, let not the army of Israel go with you; for the Lord is not with Israel, that is, the children of Ephraim.

8 Apan kong ikaw umadto, himoa ang pagkamaisugon gayud, pagmabaskugon alang sa gubat: ang Dios magapukan kanimo sa atubangan sa kaaway; kay ang Dios may gahum sa pagtabang, ug sa pagpukan.

But go yourself, and be strong in war; God will not let you go down before those who are fighting against you; for God has power to give help or to send you down before your attackers.

9 Ug si Amasias miingon sa tawo sa Dios: Apan unsay among buhaton alang sa usa ka gatus ka talento nga akong gihatag sa kasundalohan sa Israel? Ug ang tawo sa Dios mitubag: Si Jehova makahatag kanimo sa labi pa kadaghan kay niini.

Then Amaziah said to the man of God, But what is to be done about the hundred talents which I have given for the armed band of Israel? And the man of God in answer said, God is able to give you much more than this.

10 Unya si Amasias mibulag kanila, nga kong sayron, ang kasundalohan nga nangabut kaniya gikan sa Ephraim, aron sa pagpauli pag-usab: busa ang ilang kasuko misilaub uyamut batok sa Juda, ug sila mingpauli puno sa mabangis nga kasuko.

So Amaziah, separating the armed band which had come to him from Ephraim, sent them back again; which made them very angry with Judah, and they went back burning with wrath.

11 Ug si Amasias nagmaisugon, ug gimandoan niya ang iyang katawohan, ug miadto sa Walog sa Asin, ug gilaglag ang mga anak sa Seir nga may napulo ka libo.

Then Amaziah took heart, and went out at the head of his people and came to the Valley of Salt, where he put to death ten thousand of the children of Seir;

12 Ug ang ilang napulo ka libo gidala nga buhi sa mga anak sa Juda, ug gidala sila ngadto sa kinatumyan sa pangpang, ug gipanghulog sila gikan sa kinatumyan sa pangpang, mao nga sila nangadugmok.

And ten thousand more the children of Israel took living, and made them go up to the top of the rock, pushing them down from the top of the rock so that their bodies were broken by the fall.

13 Apan ang mga tawo sa kasundalohan nga gipasibug ni Amasias, nga sila dili mag-uban kaniya ngadto sa gubat, misulong sa mga ciudad sa Juda sukad sa Samaria bisan ngadto sa Bethron, ug minglaglag gikan kanila sa totolo ka libo, ug nakadala ug daghang mga inagaw.

But the men of the band which Amaziah sent back and did not take with him to the fight, made attacks on the towns of Judah from Samaria to Beth-horon, putting to death three thousand of their people and taking away a great store of their goods.

14 Karon nahitabo, sa tapus nga si Amasias miabut gikan sa pagpamatay sa mga Edomhanon, nga iyang gidala ang mga dios sa mga anak sa Seir, ug iya kining gipahamutang aron mahimo kini nga iyang mga dios, ug nagyukbo siya sa iyang kaugalingon sa atubangan niini, ug nagsunog sa mga incienso alang kanila.

Now when Amaziah came back from the destruction of the Edomites, he took the gods of the children of Seir and made them his gods, worshipping them and burning offerings before them.

15 Mao nga ang kasuko ni Jehova misalaub batok kang Amasias, ug iyang gipasugoan siya sa usa ka manalagna, nga miingon kaniya: Nganong nangita ikaw sa mga dios sa katawohan, nga wala makaluwas sa ilang kaugalingong katawohan gikan sa imong kamot?

And so the wrath of the Lord was moved against Amaziah, and he sent a prophet to him, who said, Why have you gone after the gods of the people who have not given their people salvation from your hands?

16 Ug nahitabo, sa nakigsulti siya kaniya, nga ang hari miingon kaniya: Naghimo ba kami kanimo nga magtatambag sa hari? Hunong; ngano bang pagahampakon ka? Busa ang manalagna mihunong, ug miingon: Ako nahibalo nga ang Dios nagtinguha sa paglaglag kanimo, tungod kay ikaw nagbuhat niini, ug wala magpatalinghug sa akong pagtambag?

But while he was talking to him the king said to him, Have we made you one of the king's government? say no more, or it will be the cause of your death. Then the prophet gave up protesting, and said, It is clear to me that God's purpose is your destruction, because you have done this and have not given ear to my words.

17 Unya si Amasias nga hari sa Juda nagpakitambag, ug gipaadtoan si Joas, anak nga lalake ni Joachaz ang anak nga lalake ni Jehu, nga hari sa Israel, nga nagaingon: Umari ka, magtinan-away kita ang usa ug usa sa nawong.

Then Amaziah, king of Judah, acting on the suggestion of his servants, sent to Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us have a meeting face to face.

18 Ug si Joas nga hari sa Israel nagpaadto kang Amasias nga hari sa Juda, nga nagaingon: Ang tunok nga didto sa Libano gipadala ngadto sa cedro nga didto sa Libano, nga nagaingon. Ipaasawa ang imong anak nga babaye sa akong anak nga lalake: ug didtoy miagi nga usa ka ihalas nga mananap nga didto sa Libano, ug gitumban ang tunok.

And Joash, king of Israel, sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, The thorn-tree in Lebanon sent to the cedar in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son for a wife: and a beast from the woodland in Lebanon went by, crushing the thorn under his feet.

19 Ikaw miingon: Ania karon, imong gihampak ang Edom; ug ang imong kasingkasing nagbayaw kanimo sa pagpagarbo: pabilin ka karon sa balay, nganong nagahagit ka sa imong kadautan, aron ikaw mapukan, bisan ikaw, ug ang Juda uban kanimo?

You say, See, I have overcome Edom; and your heart is lifted up with pride: now keep in your country; why do you make causes of trouble, putting yourself, and Judah with you, in danger of downfall?

20 Apan si Amasias dili buot nga magpatalinghug; kay kadto gikan sa Dios, aron iyang itugyan sila ngadto sa kamot sa ilang mga kaaway, tungod kay sila nangita sa mga dios sa Edom.

But Amaziah gave no attention; and this was the purpose of God, so that he might give them up into the hands of Joash, because they had gone after the gods of Edom.

21 Busa si Joas nga hari sa Israel miadto; ug siya ug si Amasias hari sa Juda nanagtinan-away ang usa ug usa sa nawong didto sa Beth-semes, nga sakup sa Juda.

And so Joash, king of Israel, went up; and he and Amaziah, king of Judah, came face to face at Beth-shemesh in Judah.

22 Ug ang Juda nahimutang sa hilabihan kangil-ad nga kahimtang sa atubangan sa Israel; ug sila nangalagiw ang tagsatagsa ka tawo ngadto sa iyang balong-balong.

And Judah was overcome before Israel, and they went in flight, every man to his tent.

23 Ug gikuha ni Joas nga hari sa Israel si Amasias nga hari sa Juda, ang anak nga lalake ni Joas, ang anak nga lalake ni Joachaz, sa Beth-semes, ug gidala siya ngadto sa Jerusalem, ug gigun-ob ang kuta sa Jerusalem, sukad sa ganghaan sa Ephrain ngadto sa nasikohang ganghaan, upat ka gatus ka maniko,

And Joash, king of Israel, made Amaziah, king of Judah, the son of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, prisoner at Beth-shemesh, and took him to Jerusalem; and he had the wall of Jerusalem pulled down from the doorway of Ephraim to the doorway in the angle, four hundred cubits.

24 Ug iyang gikuha ang tanang bulawan ug salapi, ug ang tanang mga sudlanan nga hingpalgan diha sa balay sa Dios nga diha kang Obed-edom, ug ang mga bahandi sa balay sa hari, mga tawo nga gipatinga usab, ug mipauli ngadto sa Samaria.

And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels which were in the house of the Lord, under the care of Obed-edom, and all the wealth from the king's house, as well as those whose lives would be the price of broken faith, and went back to Samaria.

25 Ug si Amasias anak nga lalake ni Joas nga hari sa Juda mipuyo pa sulod sa napulo ug lima ka tuig tapus sa kamatayon ni Joas anak nga lalake ni Joachaz nga hari sa Israel.

Amaziah, son of Joash, king of Judah, went on living for fifteen years after the death of Joash, the son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel.

26 Karon ang uban nga mga buhat ni Amasias, sinugdan ug katapusan, ania karon, wala ba sila mahisulat sa basahon sa mga hari sa Juda ug sa Israel?

Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, first and last, are they not recorded in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel?

27 Karon sukad sa panahon nga si Amasias misimang gikan sa pagnunot kang Jehova sila naghimo ug usa ka pagsabutsabut sa tago batok kaniya sa Jerusalem; ug siya mikalagiw ngadto sa Lachis: apan ilang gipaadtoan siya didto sa Lachis ug didto siya patya.

Now from the time when Amaziah gave up worshipping the Lord, they made secret designs against him in Jerusalem; and he went in flight to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him and put him to death there.

28 Ug ilang gidala siya pagbalik nga gitungtong ibabaw sa mga kabayo, ug gilubong siya uban sa iyang mga amahan didto sa ciudad sa Juda.

And they took his body on horseback and put it into the earth with his fathers in the town of David.
