2 Cronicas 24
1 Si Joas pito ka tuig ang panuigon sa pagsugod niya paghari; ug siya naghari sulod sa kap-atan ka tuig sa Jerusalem: ug ang ngalan sa iyang inahan mao si Sibia, sa Beer-seba.
Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.
2 Ug gihimo ni Joas kadtong matarung sa mga mata ni Jehova sa tanang mga adlaw ni Joiada nga sacerdote.
And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
3 Ug si Joiada nangasawa ug duha ka asawa alang kaniya, ug siya nanganak ug mga lalake ug mga babaye.
Jehoiada took for himself two wives, and he had sons and daughters.
4 Ug nahitabo sa tapus niini, nga si Joas nakahunahuna sa pag-ayo sa balay ni Jehova.
Some time later, Joash set his heart on repairing the house of the LORD.
5 Ug iyang gitigum sa pagtingub ang mga sacerdote ug ang mga Levihanon, ug miingon kanila: Umadto kamo sa mga ciudad sa Juda, ug magtigum kamo gikan sa tibook Israel salapi aron sa pag-ayo sa balay sa inyong Dios tuigtuig; ug tan-awon ninyo nga inyong dali-on ang maong butang. Apan ang mga Levihanon wala magdali niini.
So he gathered the priests and Levites and said, “Go out to the cities of Judah and collect the money due annually from all Israel, to repair the house of your God. Do it quickly.” The Levites, however, did not make haste.
6 Ug gitawag sa hari si Joiada ang pangulo, ug miingon kaniya: Nganong wala nimo kinahanglana sa mga Levihanon gikan sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem ang buhis ni Moises ang alagad ni Jehova, ug ang sa katilingban sa Israel, alang sa balong-balong sa pagpamatuod?
So the king called Jehoiada the high priest and said, “Why have you not required the Levites to bring from Judah and Jerusalem the tax imposed by Moses the servant of the LORD and by the assembly of Israel for the Tent of the Testimony?”
7 Kay ang mga anak nga lalake ni Athalia, kadtong dautan nga babaye, nagbungkag sa balay sa Dios; ug ang tanang mga butang usab nga hinalad sa balay ni Jehova ilang gihatag ngadto sa mga Baal.
For the sons of that wicked woman Athaliah had broken into the house of God and had even used the sacred objects of the house of the LORD for the Baals.
8 Busa ang hari nagsugo, ug sila naghimo ug usa ka kahon, ug gibutang kini didto sa gawas sa pultahan sa balay ni Jehova.
At the king’s command a chest was made and placed outside, at the gate of the house of the LORD.
9 Ug sila naghimo ug usa ka pagpahibalo sa tibook Juda ug Jerusalem, sa pagdala kang Jehova sa buhis nga gipabuhis ni Moises nga alagad sa Dios sa mga Israelihanon didto sa kamingawan.
And a proclamation was issued in Judah and Jerusalem that they were to bring to the LORD the tax imposed by Moses the servant of God on Israel in the wilderness.
10 Ug ang tanang mga principe ug ang tibook katawohan nangalipay, ug gidala sa sulod, ug gisulod didto sa kahon, hangtud nga ilang natapus.
All the officers and all the people rejoiced and brought their contributions, and they dropped them in the chest until it was full.
11 Ug mao kadto, nga, sa bisan unsang panahon nga ang kahon gidala ngadto sa mga punoan sa hari pinaagi sa kamot sa mga Levihanon, ug sa diha nga sila nakakita nga adunay daghang salapi, ang kalihim sa hari ug ang punoan sa labawng sacerdote moabut ug habwaon ang sulod sa kahon, ug dad-on kini pagbalik sa bulotangan niini. Ingon niini ang ilang gibuhat adlaw-adlaw, ug nakatigum ug daghan nga salapi.
Whenever the chest was brought by the Levites to the king’s overseers and they saw that there was a large amount of money, the royal scribe and the officer of the high priest would come and empty the chest and carry it back to its place. They did this daily and gathered the money in abundance.
12 Ug gihatag sa hari ug ni Joiada kini sa mga nagbuhat sa pag-alagad sa balay ni Jehova; ug sila nanuhol sa mga magtitiltil sa bato, ug mga panday aron sa pagpaayo sa balay ni Jehova, ug sa nagbuhat usab sa puthaw ug tumbaga aron sa pag-ayo sa balay ni Jehova.
Then the king and Jehoiada would give the money to those who supervised the labor on the house of the LORD to hire stonecutters and carpenters to restore the house of the LORD, as well as workers in iron and bronze to repair the house of the LORD.
13 Busa ang mga mamumoo nanagbuhat, ug ang pag-ayo nagkanunay sa ilang mga kamot, ug ilang gipatindog ang balay sa Dios sumala sa pagpahamutang niana, ug nagpalig-on niana.
So the workmen labored, and in their hands the repair work progressed. They restored the house of God according to its specifications, and they reinforced it.
14 Ug sa diha nga sila nakatapus na, ilang gidala ang salin sa salapi ngadto sa atubangan sa hari ug kang Joiada, diin pamuhata ang mga sudlanan alang sa balay ni Jehova, bisan mga sudlanan nga tungod niana himoon ang pag-alagad ug paghalad, ug mga cuchara, ug mga sudlanan nga bulawan ug salapi. Ug sila nanaghalad sa mga halad-nga-sinunog sa balay ni Jehova sa kanunay sa tanang mga adlaw ni Joiada.
When they were finished, they brought the rest of the money to the king and Jehoiada to make with it the articles for the house of the LORD—utensils for the service and for the burnt offerings, dishes, and other objects of gold and silver. Throughout the days of Jehoiada, burnt offerings were presented regularly in the house of the LORD.
15 Apan si Joiada nagkatigulang na gayud ug hupong sa mga adlaw, ug siya namatay; usa ka gatus ug katloan ka tuig ang panuigon sa iyang pagkamatay.
When Jehoiada was old and full of years, he died at the age of 130.
16 Ug ilang gilubong siya didto sa ciudad ni David taliwala sa mga hari, tungod kay siya naghimo ug maayo sa Israel, ug alang sa Dios ug sa iyang balay.
And Jehoiada was buried with the kings in the City of David, because he had done what was good in Israel for God and His temple.
17 Karon tapus sa kamatayon ni Joiada nangabut ang mga principe sa Juda, ug minghatag sa katahuran sa hari. Unya ang hari namati kanila.
After the death of Jehoiada, however, the officials of Judah came and paid homage to the king, and he listened to them.
18 Ug ilang gibiyaan ang balay ni Jehova, ang Dios sa ilang mga amahan, ug nag-alagad sa Asherim ug sa mga dios-dios: ug ang kaligutgut miabut ibabaw sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem tungod niining ilang pagkamakasasala.
They abandoned the house of the LORD, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherah poles and idols. So wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this guilt of theirs.
19 Bisan pa niana siya nagpadala ug mga manalagna kanila, sa pagpabalik kanila pag-usab ngadto kang Jehova; ug sila nanagpamatuod batok kanila: apan sila wala mamati.
Nevertheless, the LORD sent prophets to bring the people back to Him and to testify against them; but they would not listen.
20 Ug ang Espiritu sa Dios miabut kang Zacharias anak nga lalake ni Joiada nga sacerdote: ug siya mitindog sa ibabaw sa katawohan, ug miingon kanila: Kini mao ang giingon sa Dios: Nganong naglapas kamo sa mga sugo ni Jehova, aron kamo dili magamauswagon? tungod kay inyong gibiyaan ni Jehova, siya usab nagabiya kaninyo.
Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood up before the people and said to them, “This is what God says: ‘Why do you transgress the commandments of the LORD so that you cannot prosper? Because you have forsaken the LORD, He has forsaken you.’”
21 Ug sila nanagsabutsabut sa tago batok kaniya, ug gibato siya sa mga bato sumala sa sugo sa hari diha sa sawang sa balay ni Jehova.
But they conspired against Zechariah, and by order of the king, they stoned him in the courtyard of the house of the LORD.
22 Busa si Joas ang hari wala mahanumdum sa kalolot nga gibuhat kaniya ni Joiada nga iyang amahan, hinonoa gipatay ang iyang anak nga lalake. Ug sa pagkamatay niya, siya miingon: Si Jehova magatan-aw unta niini, ug magasilot niini.
Thus King Joash failed to remember the kindness that Zechariah’s father Jehoiada had extended to him. Instead, Joash killed Jehoiada’s son. As he lay dying, Zechariah said, “May the LORD see this and call you to account.”
23 Ug nahitabo sa katapusan sa tuig, nga ang kasundalohan sa mga Sirianhon mingtungas batok kaniya: ug ming-adto sila sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem, ug gipanlaglag ang tanang mga principe sa katawohan gikan sa kinataliwad-an sa katawohan, ug gipadala ang tanan nga inagaw gikan kanila ngadto sa hari sa Damasco.
In the spring, the army of Aram went to war against Joash. They entered Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the leaders of the people, and they sent all the plunder to their king in Damascus.
24 Kay ang kasundalohan sa mga Sirianhon ming-abut uban ang usa ka diyutay nga panon sa mga tawo; ug gitugyan ni Jehova ang usa ka daku kaayong panon ngadto sa ilang kamot, tungod kay ilang gitalikdan si Jehova, ang Dios sa ilang mga amahan. Busa ilang gihimo ang paghukom kang Joas.
Although the Aramean army had come with only a few men, the LORD delivered into their hand a very great army. Because Judah had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, judgment was executed on Joash.
25 Ug sa pagkahimulag nila gikan kaniya (kay ilang gibiyaan siya nga masakiton kaayo), ang iyang kaugalingong mga alagad nanagsabutsabut sa tago batok kaniya tungod sa dugo sa mga anak nga lalake ni Joiada nga sacerdote, ug ilang gipatay siya diha sa iyang higdaanan, ug namatay siya; ug ilang gilubong siya didto sa ciudad ni David, apan siya wala nila ilubong sa mga lubnganan sa mga hari.
And when the Arameans had withdrawn, they left Joash severely wounded. His own servants conspired against him for shedding the blood of the son of Jehoiada the priest, and they killed him on his bed. So he died and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
26 Ug kini sila mao ang nanagsabutsabut sa tago batok kaniya: si Zabad anak nga lalake ni Shimeath nga Ammonhanon, ug si Jozabad anak nga lalake ni Simrith ang Moabnon.
Those who conspired against Joash were Zabad son of Shimeath the Ammonitess and Jehozabad son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
27 Karon mahitungod sa iyang mga anak nga lalake, ug ang pagkadaku sa iyang mga lulan nga gitungtung kaniya, ug ang pagtukod pag-usab sa balay sa Dios, ania karon, sila nahisulat sa hubad sa kaagi sa basahon sa mga hari. Ug si Amasias nga iyang anak nga lalake naghari ilis kaniya.
The accounts of the sons of Joash, as well as the many pronouncements about him and about the restoration of the house of God, are indeed written in the Treatise of the Book of the Kings. And his son Amaziah reigned in his place.
