1 Samuel 6
1 Ug ang arca ni Jehova didto sa yuta sa mga Filistehanon sulod sa pito ka bulan.
And it came to pass, that the ark of Yahweh was in the country of the Philistines, seven months.
2 Ug ang Filistehanon nagtawag sa mga sacerdote ug sa mga magtatagna, nga nagaingon: Unsay atong pagabuhaton sa arca ni Jehova? Tudloi kami kong sa unsang paagi nga kana ikapadala ngadto sa iyang dapit.
Then called the Philistines for the priests and for the diviners, saying, What shall we do with the ark of Yahweh? Let us know, wherewith we shall send it to its own place.
3 Ug sila ming-ingon: Kong inyong ipadala sa halayo ang arca sa Dios sa Israel, ayaw pag-ipadala nga walay sulod; apan sa tanang kahimoan ulian siya sa usa ka halad-tungod-sa-paglapas: unya kamo mangaayo ug mahibaloan ninyo ngano nga ang iyang kamot wala mahalayo gikan kaninyo.
And they said—If ye are going to send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away, empty, but ye must, surely return, to him, a guilt-offering, —then, shall ye be healed, and it shall be known to you, wherefore his hand would not turn away from you.
4 Unya ming-ingon sila: Unsa ba ang halad-tungod-sa-paglapas nga atong iuli kaniya? Ug sila ming-ingon: Lima ka bulawan nga hubag, ug lima ka bulawan nga ilaga, sumala sa gidaghanon sa mga kadagkuan sa mga Filistehanon; kay usa ka hampak diha sa ibabaw kaninyong tanan, ug sa inyong mga kadagkuan.
And they said—What shall be the guilt-offering, that we shall return to him? And they said—By the number of the lords of the Philistines, five tumours of gold, and five mice of gold, —for, one plague, was on you all, and on your lords.
5 Busa maghimo kamo ug mga larawan sa inyong mga hubag, ug mga larawan sa inyong mga ilaga nga nagdaut sa yuta; ug magahatag kamo ug himaya sa Dios sa Israel: basin pa nga siya magapagaan sa iyang kamot gikan kaninyo, ug gikan sa inyong mga dios, ug gikan sa inyong yuta.
Wherefore ye shall make likenesses of your turnouts, and likenesses of your mice that are laying waste the land, and shall, give unto the, God of Israel, glory, —Peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your god, and from off your land.
6 Busa, ngano man nga gipatig-a ninyo ang inyong mga kasingkasing, ingon sa mga Egiptohanon ug sa kang Faraon nga nanagpatig-a sa ilang mga kasingkasing? Sa diha nga siya naghimo sa mga katingalahan sa taliwala nila, wala ba nila palakta ang katawohan, ug sila nanlakat?
Wherefore, then, should ye make your heart dull, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh made their heart dull! When he had done his great doings upon them, did they not let them go, and they departed?
7 Busa karon pagkuha ug andama ninyo ang usa ka carromata nga bag-o, ug duruha ka bayeng vaca nga angkan nga wala pa kasangoni ug yugo; ug ihigot ang mga bayeng vaca sa carromata, ug dad-a sa balay ang ilang mga nati gikan kanila;
Now, therefore, take and get ready, one new waggon, and two milch kine, whereon hath never come yoke, —then shall ye fasten the kine in the waggon, and withdraw their calves from them, into the shed;
8 Ug kuhaa ang arca ni Jehova ug ibutang kini sa ibabaw sa carromata; ug ibutang ang mga alahas nga bulawan, nga inyong iuli kaniya, alang sa usa ka halad-tungod-sa paglapas, sulod sa usa ka kahon sa daplin niana; ug ipadala kini aron kini mahalakaw.
and ye shall take the ark of Yahweh, and place it in the waggon, also, the jewels of gold which ye send back to him as a guilt-offering, shall ye put into a coffer, at the side thereof, —so shall ye let it go, and it shall depart.
9 Ug tan-awa; kong kana moagi sa alagianan sa iyang kaugalingong utlanan padulong sa Beth-semes, nan siya mao ang naghimo kanato niining dakung kadaut; apan kong dili, nan kita manghibalo nga dili mao ang iyang kamot ang naghampak kanato; kana usa lamang ka taghap nga nahanabo kanato.
Then shall ye look—if, by the way of its own boundary, it goeth up to Beth-shemesh, he, it was who caused us this great affliction, —but, if not, then shall we know that it was not, his hand, that smote us, a chance, it was, that befell us.
10 Ug ang mga tawo nagbuhat sa ingon niana, ug mingkuha ug duruha ka bayeng vaca nga angkan, ug gisangon sa carromata, ug gitakpan ang ilang mga nati sa balay;
The men, therefore, did so, and took two milch kine, and fastened them in the waggon, —but, their calves, shut they up in the shed.
11 Ug ilang gibutang ang arca ni Jehova sa ibabaw sa carromata, ug ang kahon nga sinudlan sa mga bulawang ilaga ug mga larawan sa ilang mga hubag.
And they put the ark of Yahweh, into the waggon, —also the coffer, with the mice of gold, and the likenesses of their tumours.
12 Ug ang mga bayeng vaca nga angkan minglakaw sa dalan nga matul-id padulong sa Beth-semes; nanlakaw sila ubay sa dalan, nga nagainga samtang nagalakaw sila, ug wala sumimang sa too kun sa wala nga dapit; ug ang mga kadagkuan sa mga Filistehanon mingsunod kanila ngadto sa utlanan sa Beth-semes.
And the kine went straight along the road, on the way to Beth-shemesh, yea, along the main highway, they went, lowing as they went, turning not aside, to the right hand or to the left. And, the lords of the Philistines, went along after them, as far as the bounds of Beth-shemesh.
13 Ug sila nga mga taga-Beth-semes nangani sa ilang alanihong trigo sa walog; ug sila mingyahat sa ilang mga mata ug nakita nila ang arca ug nagmalipayon sa pagkakita niana.
Now, they of Beth-shemesh, were reaping their wheat-harvest in the vale, —so they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to meet it.
14 Ug ang carromata nahiabut ngadto sa uma ni Josue nga taga-Beth-semes, ug mitindog didto, diin didto may usa ka dakung bato: ug ilang gibugha ang kahoy sa carromata, ug naghalad sa bayeng vaca nga angkan alang sa usa ka halad-nga-sinunog kang Jehova.
And, the waggon, entered into the field of Joshua, a man of Beth-shemesh, and stood still, there, where also, was a great stone, —so they clave into pieces the planks of the waggon, and, the kine, offered they up as an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh.
15 Ug ang mga Levihanon nagpakanaug sa arca ni Jehova, ug ang kahon nga diha uban niana, diin ang mga alahas nga bulawan, ug gibutang kana sa ibabaw sa dakung bato: ug ang mga tawo sa Beth-semes naghalad sa mga halad-nga-sinunog ug naghalad sa mga halad sa maong adlaw kang Jehova.
And, the Levites, took down the ark of Yahweh, and the coffer that was with it, wherein were the jewels of gold, and put them upon the great stone, —and, the men of Beth-shemesh, caused to go up ascending-offerings and offered sacrifices, that day, unto Yahweh.
16 Ug sa diha nga ang lima ka kadagkuan sa mga Filistehanon nakakita niana, mingpauli sila ngadto sa Ecron sa maong adlaw.
And, the five lords of the Philistines, saw it, —and returned unto Ekron, the same day.
17 Ug kini mao ang mga bulawan nga hubag nga giuli sa mga Filistehanon alang sa usa ka halad-tungod-sa-paglapas kang Jehova: alang sa Asdod usa, alang sa Gaza usa, alang sa Ascalon usa, alang sa Gath usa, alang sa Ecron usa;
Now, these, are the golden boils which, the Philistines returned as a guilt-offering unto Yahweh, —For Ashdod, one, for Gaza, one, for Ashkelon, one, for Gath, one, for Ekron, one;
18 Ug ang bulawan nga mga ilaga, sumala sa gidaghanon sa tanang ciudad sa mga Filistehanon nga sakup sa lima ka kadagkuan, sa mga malig-ong ciudad ug mga balangay, bisan hangtud sa dakung bato diin nila itungtong ang arca ni Jehova, ang maong bato nagpabilin hangtud niining adlawa sa yuta ni Josue nga taga-Beth-semes.
And the golden mice, by the number of all the cities of the Philistines, pertaining to the five lords, both fortified cities, and country villages, —yea, even the great meadow whereon they rested the ark of Yahweh, until this day, is in the field-land of Joshua, the man of Beth-shemesh.
19 Ug siya naghampak sa mga tawo sa Beth-semes, tungod kay sila nakatan-aw sa sulod sa arca ni Jehova, siya nagpatay gikan sa katawohan sa kalim-an ka libo ug kapitoan ka tawo; ug ang mga tawo nagasubo tungod kay si Jehova naghampak sa katawohan uban sa dakung kamatay.
And, when he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked into the ark of Yahweh, yea smote of the people seventy men [and] fifty thousand men, the people mourned, for that Yahweh had smitten the people with a great smiting.
20 Ug ang mga tawo sa Beth-semes nanag-ingon: Kinsa ba ang arang makatindog sa atubangan ni Jehova, kining balaan nga Dios? Ug kinsa man ang iyang pagaadtoon gikan kanato?
Then said the men of Beth-shemesh, Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy God? and, unto whom, shall he go up from us?
21 Ug nagpadala sila ug mga sulogoon sa mga nanagpuyo sa Chiriath-jearim, nga nagaingon: Ang mga Filistehanon nagdala pagbalik sa arca ni Jehova; lugsong kamo, ug dad-a kini ngadto kaninyo.
And they sent messengers unto the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, —The Philistines have returned the ark of Yahweh, come down, fetch it up unto you.
