1 Samuel 23
1 Ug ilang gisuginlan si David, nga nagaingon: Ania karon, ang mga Filistehanon nakig-away batok sa Keila, ug nagapanulis sa mga giukanan.
And they reported to David, saying, “Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are plundering the grain stores.”
2 Busa si David nangutana kang Jehova, nga nagaingon: Moadto ba ako ug modasmag niining mga Filistehanon? Ug si Jehova miingon kang David: Lakaw, ug samari ang mga Filistehanon, ug luwasa ang Keila.
Therefore, David consulted the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and strike down these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go, and you shall strike down the Philistines, and you shall save Keilah.”
3 Ug ang mga tawo ni David miingon kaniya: Ania karon, kita nangahadlok dinhi sa Juda: unsa pa unya ka labi pa kong moadto kita sa Keila batok sa panon sa kasundalohan sa mga Filistehanon?
And the men who were with David said to him, “Behold, we continue in fear here in Judea; how much more so, if we go into Keilah against the troops of the Philistines?”
4 Unya nangutana pa pag-usab si David kang Jehova. Ug si Jehova mitubag kaniya, ug miingon: Tumindog ka, lumugsong ka ngadto sa Keila; kay itugyan ko ang mga Filistehanon sa imong kamot.
Therefore, David consulted the Lord again. And responding, he said to him: “Rise up, and go into Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”
5 Ug si David ug ang iyang mga tawo nangadto sa Keila, ug nakig-away sa mga Filistehanon, ug giagaw ang ilang mga vaca, ug gipamatay, sila sa usa ka dakung kamatay. Busa giluwas ni David ang mga pumoluyo sa Keila.
Therefore, David and his men went into Keilah. And they fought against the Philistines, and they took away their cattle, and they struck them with a great slaughter. And David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.
6 Ug nahitabo, sa diha nga si Abiathar, ang anak ni Ahimelech mikalagiw ngadto kang David sa Keila, nga siya milugsong uban sa usa ka ephod diha sa iyang kamot.
And in that time, when Abiathar, the son of Ahimelech, was in exile with David, he had descended to Keilah, having an ephod with him.
7 Ug gisugilon kang Saul nga si David miadto sa Keila. Ug si Saul miingon: Ang Dios nagtugyan kaniya sa akong kamot; kay natakpan siya pinaagi sa pagsulod sa usa ka lungsod nga may mga ganghaan ug mga trangka.
Then it was reported to Saul that David had gone to Keilah. And Saul said: “The Lord has delivered him into my hands. For he is enclosed, having entered into a city which has gates and bars.”
8 Ug gitawag ni Saul ang tanang katawohan sa pagpakiggubat, aron molugsong ngadto sa Keila, aron likusan si David ug ang iyang mga tawo.
And Saul instructed all the people to descend in order to fight against Keilah, and to besiege David and his men.
9 Ug si David nahibalo kang Saul nga nanglalang ug kadautan batok kaniya; ug siya miingon kang Abiathar, ang sacerdote. Dad-a nganhi ang ephod.
And when David had realized that Saul had secretly prepared evil against him, he said to Abiathar, the priest, “Bring the ephod.”
10 Unya miingon si David: Oh Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel, ang imong sulogoon sa pagkatinuod nakadungog nga si Saul nagapangita aron sa pag-anhi sa Keila sa paglaglag sa ciudad tungod kanako.
And David said: “O Lord God of Israel, your servant has heard a report that Saul is planning to go to Keilah, so that he may overturn the city because of me.
11 Itugyan ba kaha ako sa mga tawo sa Keila ngadto sa iyang kamot? Molugsong ba kaha si Saul sumala sa nadungog sa imong sulogoon? Oh Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel, ako nagapakilooy kanimo, suginli ang imong sulogoon. Ug si Jehova miingon: Siya molugsong.
Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hands? And will Saul descend, just as your servant has heard? O Lord God of Israel, reveal to your servant.” And the Lord said, “He will descend.”
12 Unya miingon si David: Itugyan ba kaha ako ug ang akong mga tawo sa mga tawo sa Keila ngadto sa kamot ni Saul? Ug si Jehova miingon: Sila magatugyan kanimo.
And David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me, and the men who are with me, into the hands of Saul?” And the Lord said, “They will deliver you.”
13 Unya si David ug ang iyang mga tawo, nga may unom ka gatus, mingtindog ug mingpahawa gikan sa Keila, ug nangadto sa bisan diin nga dapit nga ilang arang kaadtoan. Ug gisugilon kang Saul nga si David nakakalagiw gikan sa Keila; ug wala siya mopadayon sa pag-adto.
Therefore, David, and his men of about six hundred, rose up, and, departing from Keilah, they wandered here and there, aimlessly. And it was reported to Saul that David had fled from Keilah, and was saved. For this reason, he chose not to go out.
14 Ug si David nagpuyo sa kamingawan sulod sa mga malig-ong salipdanan, ug napabilin sa kabungtoran sa kamingawan sa Ziph. Ug si Saul nagpangita kaniya adlaw-adlaw, apan ang Dios wala magtugyan kaniya ngadto sa iyang kamot.
Then David stayed in the desert, in very strong places. And he stayed on a mount in the wilderness of Ziph, on a shady mount. Nevertheless, Saul was seeking him every day. But the Lord did not deliver him into his hands.
15 Ug nakita ni David nga si Saul nahiabut sa pagpangita sa iyang kinabuhi: ug si David didto sa kamingawan sa Ziph sa kalasangan.
And David saw that Saul had gone out, so that he might seek his life. Now David was in the desert of Ziph, in the woods.
16 Ug si Jonathan, ang anak nga lalake ni Saul mitindog, ug miadto kang David ngadto sa kalasangan, ug nagpalig-on sa iyang kamot diha sa Dios.
And Jonathan, the son of Saul, rose up and went to David in the woods, and he strengthened his hands in God. And he said to him:
17 Ug siya miingon kaniya: Ayaw kahadlok; kay ang kamot ni Saul nga akong amahan dili makakaplag kanimo; ug ikaw mahimong hari ibabaw sa Israel, ug ako ang sunod kanimo; ug niana usab si Saul nga akong amahan nanghibalo.
“Do not be afraid. For the hand of my father, Saul, will not find you. And you shall reign over Israel. And I will be second to you. And even my father knows this.”
18 Ug silang duruha naghimo ug pakigsaad sa atubangan ni Jehova: ug si David nagpuyo sa kalasangan, ug si Jonathan miadto sa iyang balay.
Therefore, they both struck a pact before the Lord. And David stayed in the woods. But Jonathan returned to his house.
19 Unya mingtungas ang mga Ziphihanon ngadto kang Saul ngadto sa Gabaa, nga nagaingon: Wala ba si David magtago uban kanamo sulod sa malig-ong salipdanan didto sa kalasangan sa kabungtoran sa Hachila, nga atua sa dapit sa habagatan sa kamingawan?
Then the Ziphites ascended to Saul at Gibeah, saying: “Behold, is not David hidden with us in very secure places in the woods on the hill of Hachilah, which is to the right of the desert?
20 Busa karon, Oh hari, lumugsong ka, sumala sa tanang tinguha sa imong kalag sa paglugsong; ug ang among bahin mao lamang ang pagtugyan kaniya sa kamot sa hari.
Now therefore, if your soul has desired to descend, then descend. Then it will be for us to deliver him into the hands of the king.”
21 Ug si Saul miingon: Mga binulahan kamo ni Jehova; kay kamo may pagbati kanako.
And Saul said: “You have been blessed by the Lord. For you have grieved for my situation.
22 Lakaw, ako nangaliyupo kaninyo, paninguroha gayud, ug hibaloi ug tan-awa ang iyang dapit-nga-kanunayan, ug kinsa ang nakakita kaniya didto; kay kini gisugilon kanako nga siya malihay.
Therefore, I beg you, go forth, and prepare diligently, and act carefully. And consider the place where his foot may be, and who may have seen him there. For he thinks, concerning me, that I craftily plan treachery against him.
23 Busa tan-awa, ug paniira ang tanang mga hup-anan nga dapit diin siya magtago, ug bumalik kamo dinhi kanako nga may katino-an gayud, ug mouban ako kaninyo: ug mahitabo, kong siya anaa sa yuta, nga pangitaon ko gayud siya diha sa mga linibo sa Juda.
Consider and seek out all his hiding places, in which he may be concealed. And return to me with certainty about the matter, so that I may go with you. But if he would even press himself into the earth, I will search him out, amid all the thousands of Judah.”
24 Ug sila nanindog, ug nangadto sa Ziph sa unahan ni Saul: apan si David ug ang iyang mga tawo didto sa kamingawan sa Maon, sa Arabah dapit sa habagatan sa kamingawan.
And rising up, they went to Ziph before Saul. But David and his men were in the desert of Maon, in the plain to the right of Jeshimon.
25 Ug si Saul ug ang iyang mga tawo nangadto sa pagpangita kaniya. Ug ilang gisuginlan si David: maoy hinungdan nga siya milugsong ngadto sa bato, ug mipuyo diha sa kamingawan sa Maon. Ug sa pagpakadungog ni Saul niana, iyang ginuntan si David ngadto sa kamingawan sa Maon.
Then Saul and his allies went to seek him. And this was reported to David. And immediately, he descended to the rock, and he moved about in the desert of Maon. And when Saul had heard of it, he pursued David in the desert of Maon.
26 Ug si Saul miadto niining pikasa sa bukid, ug si David ug ang iyang mga tawo niadtong pikasa sa bukid: ug si David nagdali aron sa pagpahalayo tungod sa kahadlok kang Saul; kay si Saul ug ang iyang mga tawo naglikus kang David, ug sa iyang mga tawo aron sa pagdakup kanila.
And Saul went to one side of the mountain. But David and his men were on the other side of the mountain. Then David was despairing that he would be able to escape from the face of Saul. And Saul and his men enclosed David and his men in the manner of a crown, so that they might capture them.
27 Apan may nahiabut nga usa ka sulogoon kang Saul nga nagaingon: Pagdali kamo ug umari; kay ang mga Filistehanon ming-asdang sa yuta.
And a messenger came to Saul, saying, “Hurry and come, because the Philistines have poured themselves out upon the land.”
28 Busa si Saul mibalik gikan sa paglutos kang David, ug miadto batok sa mga Filistehanon. Busa gitawag nila kadtong dapita nga Sela-hammah-lecoth.
Therefore, Saul turned back, ceasing in the pursuit of David, and he traveled to meet the Philistines. For this reason, they called that place, the Rock of Division.
29 Ug si David miadto gikan didto, ug nagpuyo sa sulod sa mga malig-ong salipdanan sa Engaddi.
Then David ascended from there, and he lived in very secure places in Engedi.
