1 Samuel 10

1 Unya si Samuel mikuha sa garrapa sa lana, ug nagbubo niana sa ibabaw sa iyang ulo, ug mihalok kaniya, ug miingon: Dili ba mao si Jehova ang nagdihog kanimo aron mahimong principe sa iyang panulondon?

And Samuel took a flask of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Behold, it is because the Lord hath anointed thee over his inheritance as chief.

2 Sa diha nga nahimulag na ikaw gikan kanako niining adlawa, unya makakaplag ikaw ug duruha ka tawo tupad sa lubnganan ni Rachel, sa utlanan sa Benjamin didto sa Selsah; ug sila moingon kanimo: Ang mga asno nga imong gipangita nakaplagan na; ug ania karon, ang imong amahan wala na magtagad sa mga asno, ug nahingawa tungod kanimo, nga nagaingon: Unsay pagabuhaton ko alang sa akong anak nga lalake?

When thou goest this day away from me, thou wilt find two men who are now by Rachel's sepulchre, on the boundary of Benjamin at Zelzach; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath given up the matter of the asses, and is anxious for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?

3 Unya ikaw magapadayon gikan didto, ug ikaw mahiabut sa encina didto sa Tabor; ug didto may totolo ka tawo nga mosugat kanimo nga motungas ngadto sa Dios sa Beth-el, ang usa nagadala ug totolo ka nating kanding ug ang usa nagadala ug totolo ka book nga tinapay, ug ang usa nagadala ug usa ka botellang vino:

Then shalt thou go on forward from there, and thou shalt come as far as the grove of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:

4 Ug sila mohatag ug katahuran kanimo, ug mohatag kanimo ug duruha ka book nga tinapay nga pagadawaton mo gikan sa ilang kamot.

And they will ask thee after thy welfare, and give thee two loaves of bread, which thou must take from their hand.

5 Sa tapus niana ikaw mahiabut sa bungtod sa Dios, diin didto ang salipdanan sa kasundalohan sa mga Filistehanon: ug kini mahitabo, sa diha nga ikaw mahaabut didto sa ciudad, nga ikaw makahibalag sa usa ka panon sa manalagna nga magapauli gikan sa hataas nga dapit uban ang usa ka salterio, ug usa ka pandereta, ug usa ka flauta, ug usa ka alpa, nagauna kanila; ug managpanagna sila:

After that shalt thou come to the hill of God, where the outposts of the Philistines are; and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou wilt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high-place, having before them a psaltery, and a tambourine, and a pipe, and a harp; and they will be prophesying;

6 Ug ang Espiritu ni Jehova moabut kanimo nga puno sa gahum, ug ikaw magapanagna uban kanila, ug mabalhin ka ingon nga usa ka laing tawo.

And the Spirit of the Lord will suddenly come over thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and thou shalt be changed into another man.

7 Ug himoa kini sa diha nga moabut na kanimo kining mga ilhanan, nga ikaw magbuhat sumala sa itugot kanimo sa higayon; kay ang Dios nagauban kanimo.

And it shall be, that, when these signs are come unto thee, then do thou what thy hand may be able to effect; for God is with thee.

8 Ug ikaw magalugsong una kanako ngadto sa Gilgal; ug ania karon, ako molugsong ngadto kanimo, aron sa paghalad sa mga halad-nga-sinunog, ug magahalad sa mga halad-sa-pakigdait: pito ka adlaw ikaw magahulat, hangtud nga ako mahiabut kanimo, ug magatudlo kanimo kong unsa ang imong pagabuhaton.

And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt-offerings, [and] to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and then will I tell thee what thou shalt do.

9 Ug mao kadto, nga, sa diha nga mitalikod na siya aron sa paglakaw gikan kang Samuel, ang Dios nagahatag kaniya ug lain nga kasingkasing: ug kadtong tanan nga mga ilhanan nahitabo niadtong adlawa.

And it happened, that, as he turned his back to go away from Samuel, God changed his heart into another; and all these signs came to pass on that same day.

10 Ug sa diha nga nahiabut na sila didto sa bungtod, ania karon, usa ka panon sa mga manalagna mingsugat kaniya; ug ang Espiritu sa Dios miabut kaniya nga puno sa gahum, ug nagpanagna siya sa taliwala nila.

And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came suddenly over him, and he prophesied in the midst of them.

11 Ug nahitabo, sa diha nga ang tanan nga nakaila kaniya sa unang panahon nakita nga, ania karon, siya nagapanagna uban sa mga manalagna, unya ang katawohan nanag-ingon sa usa ug usa: Unsa kining miabut sa anak nga lalaki ni Cis? Ipon ba usab si Saul sa mga manalagna?

And it came to pass, when all that knew him before saw, that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then said the people one to another, What is this that hath happened to the son of Kish? is Saul also among the prophets?

12 Ug usa sa taga-didto niadtong dapita mitubag ug miingon: Ug kinsay ilang amahan? Busa kini nahimong usa ka sanglitanan: Nahisagol ba usab si Saul sa mga manalagna?

And one of that place answered and said, And who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?

13 Ug sa pagkahuman na niya sa pagpanagna, siya midangat sa hataas nga dapit.

And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high-place.

14 Ug ang uyoan ni Saul miingon kaniya ug sa iyang sulogoon: Diin kamo mangadto? Ug siya miingon: Sa pagpangita sa mga asno; ug sa pagtan-aw namo nga wala sila hikaplagi, miadto kami kang Samuel.

And Saul's uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither were ye gone? And he said, To seek the asses; and when we saw that they were nowhere, we went to Samuel.

15 Ug ang uyoan ni Saul miingon: Suginli ako, ako nagahangyo kanimo, unsay gipamulong ni Samuel kanimo.

And Saul's uncle said, Do tell me, I pray thee, what did Samuel say unto you.

16 Ug si Saul miingon sa iyang uyoan: Gipahayagan kami niya nga ang mga asno nakaplagan na. Apan mahitungod sa hinungdan sa gingharian, nga gipamulong ni Samuel, wala pa siya suginli niya.

And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses had been found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel had spoken, he told him not.

17 Ug si Samuel nagtigum sa tanang katawohan ngadto kang Jehova sa Mizpa;

And Samuel called the people together unto the Lord to Mizpah;

18 Ug siya miingon sa mga anak sa Israel: Kini mao ang gipamulong ni Jehova, ang Dios sa Israel: Ako nagdala sa Israel gikan sa Egipto, ug ako ang nagluwas kaninyo gikan sa kamot sa mga Egiptohanon, ug gikan sa kamot, sa tanang mga gingharian nga nagalupig kaninyo.

And he said unto the children of Israel, Thus hath said the Lord the God of Israel, I brought up Israel from Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you;

19 Apan kamo niining adlawa nagsalikway sa inyong Dios, nga sa iyang kaugalingon nagaluwas kaninyo sa tanan ninyong kalisdanan ug sa inyong kasakitan: apan kamo namulong pa kaniya: Dili, apan butangi kami ug usa ka hari. Busa karon pangatubang kamo kang Jehova pinaagi sa inyong mga banay ug sa inyong mga linibo.

And ye for your part have this day rejected your God, he who hath saved you out of all your misfortunes and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nevertheless, thou must set a king over us: and now present yourselves before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your thousands.

20 Busa si Samuel nagdala sa tibook nga mga banay sa Israel sa duol, ug ang banay sa Benjamin gikuha.

And Samuel caused all the tribes of Israel to come near; and the tribe of Benjamin was seized.

21 Ug nagdala sa banay sa Benjamin haduol sa ilang panimalay, ug ang panimalay sa mga Matrihanon gikuha; ug si Saul ang anak nga lalaki ni Cis gikuha: apan sa diha nga sila nagapangita kaniya siya wala makaplagi.

And he caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near according to its families, and the family of Matri was seized, and then was seized Saul the son of Kish: and they sought him, but he could not be found.

22 Busa nangutana pa gayud sila kang Jehova: Aduna pa bay usa ka tawo nga pagapaanhion? Ug si Jehova mitubag: Ania karon, siya mitago sa iyang kaugalingon ipon sa mga putos.

And they inquired again of the Lord, Is the man yet come hither? And the Lord said, Behold, he hath hidden himself among the vessels.

23 Ug ilang gidalagan ug gidala siya gikan didto; ug sa mitindog siya taliwala sa katawohan, siya taas kay sa uban nga katawohan kutob sa iyang abaga ngadto sa itaas.

And they ran and fetched him thence, and he placed himself erect in the midst of the people, and he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.

24 Ug si Samuel miingon sa tanang katawohan: Tan-awa ninyo siya nga gipili ni Jehova, nga walay makasama kaniya taliwala sa tibook nga katawohan? Ug ang tibook nga katawohan naninggit ug nanag-ingon: Mabuhi ang hari.

And Samuel said to all the people, Have ye seen him whom the Lord hath made choice of, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, Long live the king.

25 Unya gisuginlan ni Samuel ang katawohan sa kahimtang sa gingharian, ug gisulat kini sa usa ka basahon, ug gibutang kini sa atubangan ni Jehova. Ug gipalakaw ni Samuel ang tibook nga katawohan ang tagsatagsa ka tawo ngadto sa iyang balay.

Then did Samuel speak to the people the rights of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it down before the Lord. And Samuel sent away all the people, every man to his house.

26 Ug si Saul usab miadto sa iyang balay, didto sa Gabaa; ug didto mikuyog kaniya ang panon kansang mga kasingkasing gitandog sa Dios.

And Saul also went to his home to Gib'ah; and there went with him a large crowd, whose heart God had touched.

27 Apan may ubang mga walay bili nga tawo nanag-ingon: Unsaon niining tawohana ang pagluwas kanato? Ug ilang gitamay siya, ug wala magdala kaniya ug gasa. Apan nagpakahilum siya.

But the worthless men said, In what can this help us? And they despised him, and brought him no present. But he acted as though he were deaf.
