Roma 15
1 Karon kita nga mga lig-on kinahanglan nga magpas-an sa mga kaluyahon sa mga huyang, ug kinahanglan nga dili magpahimuot sa atong kaugalingon.
As for us who are strong, our duty is to bear with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not seek our own pleasure.
2 Himoa nga ang matag usa kanato magpahimuot sa iyang silingan kay mao kana ang maayo, aron sa paglig-on kaniya.
Let each of us endeavour to please his fellow Christian, aiming at a blessing calculated to build him up.
3 Kay bisan gani si Cristo wala magpahimuot sa iyang kaugalingon. Sama kini sa nahisulat, “Ang mga pagbiaybiay niadtong nagtamay kanimo nahulog kanako.”
For even the Christ did not seek His own pleasure. His principle was, "The reproaches which they addressed to Thee have fallen on me."
4 Kay bisan unsa nga nahisulat kaniadto gisulat alang sa atong pagpanudlo, aron nga pinaagi sa pagpailob ug pinaagi sa pagdasig sa kasulatan makabaton kita ug pagsalig.
For all that was written of old has been written for our instruction, so that we may always have hope through the power of endurance and the encouragement which the Scriptures afford.
5 Karon hinaot nga ang pailob sa Dios ug ang kadasig magatugot kaninyo nga mahimong managsama ang hunahuna sa usag usa sumala kang Cristo Jesus.
And may God, the giver of power of endurance and of that encouragement, grant you to be in full sympathy with one another in accordance with the example of Christ Jesus,
6 Hinaot nga buhaton niya kini aron nga uban sa usa ka hunahuna makadayeg kamo pinaagi sa usa ka baba ang Dios ug Amahan sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo.
so that with oneness both of heart and voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Busa dawata ang usag usa, sama sa pagdawat ni Cristo kaninyo, sa pagdayeg ngadto sa Dios.
Habitually therefore give one another a friendly reception, just as Christ also has received you, and thus promote the glory of God.
8 Kay ako magasulti nga si Cristo nahimo nga sulugoon ngadto sa pagkatinuli sa ngalan sa kamatuoran sa Dios. Gihimo niya kini aron nga mapamatud-an niya ang mga saad nga gihatag ngadto sa mga amahan,
My meaning is that Christ has become a servant to the people of Israel in vindication of God's truthfulness-- in showing how sure are the promises made to our forefathers--
9 ug alang sa mga Gentil sa paghimaya sa Dios sa iyang kaluoy. Sama kini sa nahisulat, “Busa ako magahatag ug pagdayeg kanimo taliwala sa mga Gentil ug magaawit sa pagdayeg sa imong ngalan.”
and that the Gentiles also have glorified God in acknowledgment of His mercy. So it is written, "For this reason I will praise Thee among the Gentiles, and sing psalms in honour of Thy name."
10 Gisulti usab kini, “Paglipay, kamong mga Gentil, uban ang iyang katawhan.”
And again the Psalmist says, "Be glad, ye Gentiles, in company with His People."
11 Ug usab, “Pagdayeg sa Ginoo, kamong tanan nga mga Gentil; tugoti nga ang tanang katawhan magdayeg kaniya.”
And again, "Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and let all the people extol Him."
12 Usab, si Isaias nag-ingon, “Anaa gayod ang gamot ni Jesse, ug ang usa nga mabanhaw aron momando ibabaw sa mga Gentil. Ang mga Gentil makabaton ug pagsalig diha kaniya.”
And again Isaiah says, "There shall be the Root of Jesse and One who rises up to rule the Gentiles. On Him shall the Gentiles build their hopes."
13 Karon hinaot nga ang Dios sa pagsalig magpuno kaninyo sa tanang kalipay ug kalinaw alang sa pagtuo, aron nga kamo magmadagayaon diha sa pagsalig, pinaagi sa gahom sa Balaang Espiritu.
May God, the giver of hope, fill you with continual joy and peace because you trust in Him--so that you may have abundant hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
14 Hugot usab ako nga nagtuo mahitungod kaninyo, akong mga igsoon. Hugot usab ako nga nagtuo nga kamo sa inyong kaugalingon napuno sa pagkamaayo, napuno sa tanang kahibalo. Hugot usab akong nagtuo nga kamo makahimo sa pagdasig sa usag usa.
But as to you, brethren, I am convinced-- yes, I Paul am convinced--that, even apart from my teaching, you are already full of goodness of heart, and enriched with complete Christian knowledge, and are also competent to instruct one another.
15 Apan nagasulat ako kaninyo nga maisogon gayod mahitungod sa pipila ka mga butang aron sa pagpahinumdom pag-usab kaninyo, tungod sa gasa nga gihatag kanako sa Dios.
But I write to you the more boldly--partly as reminding you of what you already know--because of the authority graciously entrusted to me by God,
16 Kini nga gasa mao nga kinahanglan nga mamahimo akong sulugoon ni Cristo Jesus nga gipadala ngadto sa mga Gentil, sa pagtanyag ingon nga usa ka pari sa ebanghelyo sa Dios. Kinahanglan ko gayod kining buhaton aron nga ang halad sa mga Gentil mamahimong dawaton, hinalad sa Dios pinaagi sa Balaang Espiritu.
that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus among the Gentiles, doing priestly duties in connexion with God's Good News so that the sacrifice--namely the Gentiles--may be acceptable to Him, being (as it is) an offering which the Holy Spirit has made holy.
17 Busa ang akong kalipay anaa kang Cristo Jesus ug sa mga butang sa Dios.
I can therefore glory in Christ Jesus concerning the work for God in which I am engaged.
18 Kay dili ako makahimo sa pagsulti sa bisan unsa gawas sa nahimo ni Cristo pinaagi kanako alang sa pagkamasulondon sa mga Gentil. Kining mga butanga nahimo pinaagi sa pulong ug buhat,
For I will not presume to mention any of the results that Christ has brought about by other agency than mine in securing the obedience of the Gentiles by word or deed,
19 pinaagi sa gahom sa mga ilhanan ug mga katingalahan, ug pinaagi sa gahom sa Balaang Espiritu. Mao kini nga aron gikan sa Jerusalem, ug libot sama kalayo sa Ilyricum, madala nako sa hingpit ang ebanghelyo ni Cristo.
with power manifested in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. But--to speak simply of my own labours--beginning in Jerusalem and the outlying districts, I have proclaimed without reserve, even as far as Illyricum, the Good News of the Christ;
20 Niini nga paagi, ako gayong tinguha ang pagmantala sa ebanghelyo, apan dili sa dapit nga wala mailhi ang ngalan ni Cristo, aron nga ako dili makatukod ibabaw sa patukoranan sa laing tawo.
making it my ambition, however, not to tell the Good News where Christ's name was already known, for fear I should be building on another man's foundation.
21 Ingon kini sa nahisulat: “Kinsa kadtong miabot nga wala makabalita kaniya makakita kaniya, ug kinsa kadtong wala makadungog makasabot.”
But, as Scripture says, "Those shall see, to whom no report about Him has hitherto come, and those who until now have not heard shall understand."
22 Busa nababagan usab ako sa daghang higayon sa pag-anha kaninyo.
And it is really this which has again and again prevented my coming to you.
23 Apan karon, wala na akoy luna niining mga rehiyona, ug nagtinguha ako sa daghang mga katuigan nga moanha kaninyo.
But now, as there is no more unoccupied ground in this part of the world, and I have for years past been eager to pay you a visit,
24 Busa kung makaadto ako sa Espanya, hinaot nga makita ko kamo sa akong pag-agi, ug ihatod ako sa akong dalan pinaagi kaninyo, human nga ako malipay sa pagpakig-uban diha kaninyo sa mubong higayon.
I hope, as soon as ever I extend my travels into Spain, to see you on my way and be helped forward by you on my journey, when I have first enjoyed being with you for a time.
25 Apan karon moadto na ako sa Jerusalem aron sa pag-alagad sa mga magtutuo.
But at present I am going to Jerusalem to serve God's people,
26 Kay gikalipay pag-ayo sa Macedonia ug sa Acaya ang paghimo ug usa ka pag-amot ngadto sa mga kabos taliwala sa mga magtutuo nga atua sa Jerusalem.
for Macedonia and Greece have kindly contributed a certain sum in relief of the poor among God's people, in Jerusalem.
27 Oo, gikalipay pag-ayo nila, ug, sa katapusan, sila gayod utangan kanila. Kay kung ang mga Gentil nakaambit sa ilang espirituhanong mga butang, utang usab nila kini kanila aron alagaran sila sa mga butang kalibotanon.
Yes, they have kindly done this, and, in fact, it was a debt they owed them. For seeing that the Gentiles have been admitted in to partnership with the Jews in their spiritual blessings, they in turn are under an obligation to render sacred service to the Jews in temporal things.
28 Busa, sa dihang nahuman na nako ug napamatud-an kining bunga ngadto kanila, moadto ako kaninyo agi sa dalan didto sa Espanya.
So after discharging this duty, and making sure that these kind gifts reach those for whom they are intended, I shall start for Spain, passing through Rome on my way there;
29 Nasayod ako nga, sa dihang moanha ako kaninyo, moanha ako nga puno sa panalangin ni Cristo.
and I know that when I come to you it will be with a vast amount of blessing from Christ.
30 Karon nagaawhag ako kaninyo, mga igsoon, pinaagi sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo, ug pinaagi sa gugma sa Espiritu, nga maningkamot kamo uban kanako sa inyong mga pag-ampo sa Dios alang kanako.
But I entreat you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love which His Spirit inspires, to help me by wrestling in prayer to God on my behalf,
31 Pag-ampo nga makalingkawas ako gikan sa mga masinupakon sa Judea, ug ang akong pagpangalagad alang sa Jerusalem madawat ngadto sa mga magtutuo.
asking that I may escape unhurt from those in Judaea who are disobedient, and that the service which I am going to Jerusalem to render may be well received by the Church there,
32 Pag-ampo nga makaanha ako kaninyo nga adunay kalipay pinaagi sa kabubut-on sa Dios, ug mahimo nga ako makakaplag ug kapahulayan uban kaninyo.
in order that if God be willing I may come to you with a glad heart, and may enjoy a time of rest with you.
33 Hinaot nga ang Dios sa kalinaw maanaa kaninyong tanan. Amen.
May God, who gives peace be with you all! Amen.
