Mga Salmo 1

1 Bulahan ang tawo nga wala magalakaw sa tambag sa mga daotan, o magabarog sa dalan uban sa mga makasasala, o magalingkod sa panagtigom sa mga bugalbugalon.

BOOK I HAPPY IS the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful.

2 Apan ang iyang kalipay anaa sa balaod ni Yahweh, ug sa iyang balaod namalandong siya adlaw ug gabii.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

3 Sama siya sa usa ka kahoy nga natanom daplin sa kasapaan nga naghatag sa bunga niini sa iyang panahon, nga kansang mga dahon dili malaya; bisan unsa ang iyang buhaton magmauswagon.

And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper.

4 Ang daotan dili sama niini, apan sama hinuon kini sa uhot nga ipadpad sa hangin.

Not so the wicked; but they are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Busa ang daotan dili gayod makabarog sa hukmanan, ni bisan ang mga makasasala diha sa panagtigom sa mga matarong.

Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 Kay gitugotan ni Yahweh ang dalan sa matarong, apan mahanaw ang dalan sa daotan.

For the LORD regardeth the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked shall perish.
