Panultihon 11
1 Gikasilagan ni Yahweh ang sukdanan nga dili husto, apan gikahimut-an niya ang husto nga pagsukod.
Balances of deceit are an abomination of the Lord; but a full weight [obtaineth] his favor.
2 Kung ang garbo moabot, ang kaulaw unya modangat, apan diha sa pagpaubos moabot ang kaalam.
When pride cometh, then cometh disgrace; but with the modest there is wisdom.
3 Ang dungog sa matarong mogiya kanila, apan ang baliko nga mga dalan sa mga malimbongon moguba kanila.
The integrity of the upright guideth them; but the cunning of the treacherous destroyeth them.
4 Walay pulos ang bahandi sa adlaw sa kapungot, apan ang pagbuhat ug matarong maglikay kanimo gikan sa kamatayon.
Wealth cannot profit on the day of wrath; but righteousness deliver from death.
5 Ang matarong nga binuhatan sa tawong walay sala magtul-id sa iyang dalan, apan ang daotan mapukan tungod sa ilang pagkadaotan.
The righteousness of the perfect maketh even his way; but by his own wickedness will the wicked fall.
6 Ang matarong nga binuhatan niadtong makapahimuot sa Dios magluwas kanila, apan ang malimbongon malit-ag pinaagi sa ilang mga tinguha.
The righteousness of the upright will deliver them; but through their own sinful desires are the treacherous caught.
7 Sa dihang ang tawong daotan mamatay, ang iyang paglaom mahanaw ug ang paglaom nga anaa sa iyang kusog mawagtang.
When a wicked man dieth, [his] hope vanisheth; and the expectation of his children is lost.
8 Ang tawo nga magbuhat kung unsa ang matarong malikay gikan sa kagubot ug modangat hinuon kini ngadto sa daotan.
The righteous is delivered out of distress, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9 Ang baba sa dili diosnon makadaot sa iyang silingan, apan pinaagi sa kahibalo kadtong mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong maluwas.
With his mouth doth the hypocrite destroy his neighbor; but through knowledge are the righteous delivered.
10 Kung magmauswagon kadtong magbuhat ug matarong, ang siyudad magmalipayon; kung ang daotan malaglag, adunay panagsinggit sa kalipay.
When it goeth well with the righteous, the town rejoiceth loudly: and when the wicked perish, there is joyful shouting.
11 Pinaagi sa maayong mga gasa niadtong makapahimuot sa Dios, mouswag ang siyudad; pinaagi sa baba sa daotan, magun-ob ang siyudad.
Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted; but through the mouth of the wicked it is pulled down.
12 Ang tawo nga magtamay sa iyang higala walay alamag, apan ang tawo nga adunay panabot maghilom.
He that despiseth his neighbor is void of sense; but a man of understanding maintaineth silence.
13 Si bisan kinsa nga nagapanglibak mopadayag sa mga tinago, apan ang tawong matinud-anon motipig sa mga butang nga gitago.
He that walketh about as talebearer revealeth secrets; but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14 Kung walay maalamong padulngan, ang nasod mapukan, apan moabot ang kadaogan pinaagi sa pagpakisayod sa daghang magtatambag.
Where there is no wise guidance, a people must fall: but [it will obtain] help through the multitude of counsellors.
15 Si bisan kinsa nga magpasalig sa utang sa usa ka langyaw mag-antos gayod sa kasakit, apan ang tawo nga dili buot mohimo ug kasabotan sa ingon ana nga matang sa saad maluwas.
With evil will he be overwhelmed that is surety for a stranger: but he that hateth giving the hand as pledge is safe.
16 Ang maluluy-on nga babaye makadawat ug pagpasidungog, apan ang mga tawong mangtas mga hakog sa bahandi.
A woman endowed with grace will surely obtain honor; and the powerful will obtain riches.
17 Ang tawong maluluy-on makapahimulos sa iyang kaugalingon, apan ang tawong bangis magpasakit sa iyang kaugalingon.
The man of kindness doth good to his own soul; but he that troubleth his own flesh is cruel.
18 Ang tawong daotan manglimbong aron lang makuha ang iyang suhol, apan ang tawong magpugas kung unsa ang matarong moani sa bayad sa kamatuoran.
The wicked practiseth a work of falsehood; but he that soweth righteousness [obtaineth] the reward of truth.
19 Ang tawong matinud-anon nga mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong mabuhi, apan mamatay ang tawo nga mosunod sa daotan.
He who is firm in righteousness attaineth to life: and he that pursueth evil [doth it] to his own death.
20 Gikasilagan ni Yahweh kadtong mga kasingkasing nga dili matarong, apan gikahimut-an niya kadtong mga dalan sa mga walay sala.
An abomination of the Lord are those of a perverse heart; but his favor is for those who are unblemished in their way.
21 Siguradoha kini—ang mga tawong daotan dili pasagdan nga dili masilotan, apan ang mga kaliwat niadtong mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong maluwas.
The hand [of God] being against [his] hand, the bad man shall not go unpunished; but the seed of the righteous shall escape.
22 Sama sa singsing nga bulawan nga anaa sa ilong sa baboy mao man ang maanyag nga babaye nga walay maayong paghukom.
As a golden ring in a swine's snout, so is a handsome woman that hath thrown off discretion.
23 Ang mga tinguha niadtong mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong mosangpot sa kaayohan, apan ang mga tawong daotan molaom lang sa kapungot.
The desire of the righteous is only good: but the hope of the wicked is the wrath [of God].
24 Adunay tawo nga magpugas ug binhi—makatigom siya ug mas daghan pa; ang uban nga wala magpugas—modangat kaniya ang kakabos.
There is a man that scattereth gifts, and yet his wealth is increased: and there is one that withholdeth more than is proper, and still cometh only to want.
25 Ang tawong manggihatagon mouswag ug ang tawong mohatag ug tubig ngadto sa uban makabaton ug tubig sa iyang kaugalingon.
A beneficent soul will be abundantly gratified; and he that refresheth [others] will be also refreshed himself.
26 Tunglohon sa mga tawo ang tawong mobalibad sa pagbaligya ug trigo, apan ang maayong mga gasa magpurongpurong sa ulo niadtong magbaligya niini.
Him that withholdeth corn, the people will denounce; but blessing will be heaped upon the head of the one that selleth it.
27 Ang tawo nga kugihan mangita sa maayo nagapangita usab ug pabor, apan ang tawo nga mangita sa daotan makakaplag niini.
He that diligently searcheth after good seeketh favor; but if one inquireth after evil, it will come unto him.
28 Kadtong misalig sa ilang kaadunahan mapukan, apan sama sa dahon, molabong kadtong mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong.
He that trusteth in his riches will surely fall; but the righteous shall grow like the leaves [of a tree].
29 Ang tawo nga magdala ug kagubot sa iyang kaugalingong panimalay makapanunod ug hangin ug ang buangbuang mahimong ulipon sa maalamon ug kasingkasing.
He that troubleth his own house will inherit the wind; and the fool will become the servant to the wise of heart.
30 Kadtong mobuhat kung unsa ang matarong mahimong sama sa kahoy sa kinabuhi, apan ang kasamok molaglag ug mga kinabuhi.
The fruit of the righteous is of the tree of life, and the wise draweth souls to himself.
31 Kung kadtong mga mobuhat ug matarong makadawat kung unsa ang angay kanila, unsa pa kaha ang daotan ug ang makasasala!
Behold, the righteous is recompensed on the earth: how much more the wicked and the sinner.
