Obadia 1
1 Ang panan-awon ni Obadia. Ang Ginoo nga si Yahweh miingon niini mahitungod sa Edomea: Nadungog namo ang saysay gikan ni Yahweh, ug adunay tigpamaba nga gipadala ngadto sa mga nasod, nga nag-ingon, “Barog! Mobarog kita batok sa pakig-away kaniya!”
The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
2 Tan-awa, himoon ko ikaw nga gamay taliwala sa mga nasod, pagabiay-biayon ka gayod sa hilabihan.
Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.
3 Nalimbongan ka sa garbo sa imong kasing-kasing, ikaw nga nagpuyo diha sa pangpang sa dagkong bato, sa imong puloy-anan nga naa sa hitaas; nga nag-ingon sa imong kasingkasing, “Kinsa man ang magdala kanako ngadto sa yuta?”
The pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
4 Bisan tuod nga ang kataas sa imong kota sama sa agila, ug bisan tuod nahimotang ang imong salag taliwala sa kabituonan, pukanon ko ikaw gikan didto, nag-ingon si Yahweh.
Though thou shalt exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou shalt set thy nest among the stars, from there will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
5 Kung ang tulisan moabot kanimo, kung ang kawatan moabot sa kagabhion (mapokan gayod ikaw!), dili ba sila mangawat ug paigo alang sa ilang kaugalingon? Kung ang tigtapok sa ubas moabot kanimo, dili ba sila magbilin ug hagdawonon?
If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
6 Gikawat ang kabtangan ni Esau, ug gikuha ang iyang mga tinago nga bahandi!
How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought!
7 Ang tanang kalalakin-an nga imong kaabin maoy maghatod kaninyo paingon sa utlanan. Ang kalalakin-an nga inyong mga higala maoy naglimbong kaninyo, ug modaug batok kaninyo. Sila nga mikaon sa inyong tinapay mihimo ug bitik alang kaninyo. Walay kaalam diha kaniya.
All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a trap under thee: there is no understanding in him.
8 Dili ba nianang adlawa, si Yahweh miingon, laglagon ko ang maalamong kalalakin-an nga gikan sa Edom, ug ang panabot gikan sa bungtod ni Esau?
Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
9 Ug mangalisang ang imong kusgang kalalakin-an, sa Teman, aron nga ang matag-tawo mangahanaw gikan sa bukid ni Esau pinaagi sa pagpatay.
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
10 Tungod sa kabangis nga imong gihimo sa imong igsoon nga si Jacob, maputos ka sa kaulaw, ug mahanaw ka hangtod sa kahangtoran.
For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
11 Sa adlaw nga ikaw motindog nga walay pagtagad, sa adlaw nga gidala sa mga dumuduong ang iyang katigayonan, ug nanulod ang mga langyaw sa iyang mga ganghaan, ug nag-ilogay sa Jerusalem, sama ra usab ikaw kanila.
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
12 Apan ayaw paglipay sa adlaw sa imong igsoon, sa adlaw sa iyang kaalaotan, ug ayaw pagmaya taliwala sa mga katawhan sa Judah sa adlaw sa ilang pagkapokan; ayaw pagpanghambog sa adlaw sa ilang kalisdanan.
But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
13 Ayaw pagsulod sa ganghaan sa akong katawhan sa adlaw sa ilang katalagman; ayaw paglipay sa ilang kasakitan sa adlaw sa ilang katalagman, ayaw kawata ang ilang kabtangan sa adlaw sa ilang pagkaguba.
Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;
14 Ug ayaw pagbarog diha sa nagsangang kadalanan, aron pagpatay sa iyang mga nangikyas; ug ayaw itugyan sa mga kaaway ang mga nakalahutay sa adlaw sa kalisdanan.
Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escaped; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that remained in the day of distress.
15 Kay ang adlaw ni Yahweh haduol na sa tanang kanasoran. Ingon nga imong gibuhat, buhaton usab kini kanimo; ang imong mga binuhatan mobalik sa imong kaugalingong ulo.
For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done to thee: thy reward shall return upon thy own head.
16 tungod kay miinom ka man diha sa akong balaang bukid, busa ang tanang kanasoran magpadayon usab sa pag-inom. Moinom sila, ug motulon, ingon nga daw wala sila namugna.
For as ye drank upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
17 Apan sa Bukid sa Sion anaa didto ang mga naka-ikyas, ug mahimo kining balaan; ug ang panimalay ni Jacob maoy manag-iya sa ilang kaugalingon nga gipanag-iyahan.
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
18 Ang panimalay ni Jacob mahimong kalayo, ug ang panimalay ni Jose usa ka siga, ug ang panimalay ni Esau mahimong dagami, ug pagasunogon nila sila, ug magalamoy kanila. Walay makalingkawas ngadto sa panimalay ni Esau, kay si Yahweh mao ang nagsulti niini.
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
19 Ug kadtong gikan sa Negeb mao ang manag-iya sa bukid ni Esau, ug kadtong anaa sa Sepela sila ang manag-iya sa yuta sa mga Filistihanon; ug manag-iya sila sa yuta ni Efraim, ug yuta sa Samaria; ug si Benjamin mao ang manag-iya sa Gilead.
And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
20 Ang mga binihag nga katawhan niining nasod sa Israel manag-iya sa yuta sa Canaan paingon sa Zarefat. Ang mga binihag sa Jerusalem, nga anaa sa Sefarad, mao ang manag-iya sa siyudad sa Negeb.
And the captives of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even to Zarephath; and the captives of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
21 Ang mga magtatabang motungas sa bukid sa Sion aron hukman ang bukid ni Esau, ug ang gingharian ma-iya ni Yahweh.
And deliverers shall come upon mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’S.
