Numerus 17
1 Nakigsulti si Yahweh kang Moises. Miingon siya,
And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 “Pakigsulti ngadto sa katawhan sa Israel ug kuhaa ang mga sungkod gikan kanila, usa alang sa matag tribo sa katigulangan, napulo ug duha ka mga sungkod. Isulat ang ngalan sa matag tawo ngadto sa iyang sungkod.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and take from them one staff each for a family division, from all their princes, according to their family divisions, twelve staves: the name of each man shalt thou write upon his staff.
3 Kinahanglan isulat mo ang ngalan ni Aaron sa sungkod ni Levi. Kinahanglan nga adunay usa ka sungkod sa matag pangulo gikan sa tribo sa iyang katigulangan.
And the name of Aaron shalt thou write upon the staff of Levi; for there shall be but one staff for the head of their family division.
4 Kinahanglan nga ibutang mo ang mga sungkod diha sa tolda nga tigomanan atubangan sa kasugoan sa kasabotan, diin ako makigkita kanimo.
And thou shalt lay them down in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I usually meet with you.
5 Mahitabo kini nga ang sungkod sa tawo nga akong pilion mosalingsing. Pahunongon ko ang mga pagbagulbol sa katawhan sa Israel, diin ilang gipangsulti batok kanimo.”
And it shall come to pass, that the staff of the man whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will allay from around me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.
6 Busa nakigsulti si Moises ngadto sa katawhan sa Israel. Ang tanang mga pangulo sa tribo naghatag kaniya ug mga sungkod, usa ka sungkod gikan sa matag pangulo, pinili gikan sa tribo sa katigulangan, napulo ug duha ka mga sungkod tanan. Usa niadto mao ang sungkod ni Aaron.
And Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, and all their princes gave him each a staff, one for every prince, according to their family divisions, twelve staves: and the staff of Aaron was among their staves.
7 Unya gitipigan ni Moises ang mga sungkod sa atubangan ni Yahweh ngadto sa tolda sa kasugoan sa kasabotan.
And Moses laid down the staves before the Lord in the tabernacle of the testimony.
8 Sa sunod adlaw misulod si Moises ngadto sa tolda sa kasugoan sa kasabotan ug, tan-awa, misalingsing ang sungkod ni Aaron alang sa tribo ni Levi. Nanalingsing kini ug namukhad ang mga bulak ug namunga ug hinog nga mga almendras!
And it came to pass on the morrow, that as Moses went into the tabernacle of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded; and it brought forth buds, and produced blossoms, and yielded ripe almonds.
9 Gipagawas ni Moises ang tanan nga mga sungkod gikan sa atubangan ni Yahweh ngadto sa tanang katawhan sa Israel, ug ang matag usa ka tawo mikuha sa iyang sungkod.
And Moses brought out all the staves from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel; and they looked [at them], and took away every one his staff.
10 Miingon si Yahweh kang Moises, “Ibutang ang sungkod ni Aaron sa atubangan sa kasugoan sa kasabotan. Tipigi kini ingon nga timaan sa sala batok sa katawhan nga masupilon aron mohunong ang ilang pagbagulbol batok kanako, o mangamatay sila.”
And the Lord said unto Moses, Carry back the staff of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept as a token against the children of rebellion, that there may be an end of their murmurings from around me, and they die not.
11 Gibuhat ni Moises ang gimando ni Yahweh ngadto kaniya.
And Moses did so; as the Lord had commanded him, so did he.
12 Ang katawhan sa Israel misulti kang Moises ug miingon, “Mangamatay kami dinhi. Mangahanaw kaming tanan!
And the children of Israel said unto Moses, thus, Behold, we perish, we are lost, we are all lost.
13 Ang tanan nga mosaka, nga moduol sa tabernakulo ni Yahweh, mangamatay. Kinahanglan ba nga mangahanaw kaming tanan?”
Every one that cometh near at all unto the tabernacle of the Lord must die: shall we totally perish?
