Nehemias 1
1 Ang mga pulong ni Nehemias anak nga lalaki ni Hacalia: Niining tungora nahitabo kini sa bulan sa Kislev, sa ika-20 ka tuig, samtang anaa ako sa portico sa Susa,
The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
2 usa sa akong igsoon nga lalaki, si Hanani, ang miabot kuyog ang pipila ka mga tawo sa Juda, ug nangutana ako kanila mahitungod sa mga Judio nga nakaikyas, ug sa nahabilin nga mga Judio nga anaa didto, ug mahitungod sa Jerusalem.
That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, who were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 Miingon sila kanako, “Katong anaa sa probinsya nga nahibilin sa pagkabihag kanila anaa sa dakong kagubot ug kaulawan tungod kay ang paril sa Jerusalem nangalumpag ug nasunog ang mga ganghaan niini.”
And they said to me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.
4 Sa nadungog ko kining mga pulong, Milingkod ako ug mihilak, ug sa pila ka adlaw nagpadayon ako sa pagbangotan ug pagpuasa ug nag-ampo atubangan sa Dios sa langit.
And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
5 Unya miingon ako, “Ikaw si Yahweh, ang Dios sa langit, ang Dios nga bantogan ug kahibulongan, nga nagtipig sa kasabotan ug nagpabilin nga nahigugma uban niadtong nahigugma kanimo ug nagtuman sa imong mga sugo.
And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6 Paminaw sa akong mga pag-ampo ug ablihi ang imong mga mata, aron madungog nimo ang pag-ampo sa imong alagad nga nag-ampo ako kanimo adlaw ug gabii alang sa katawhan sa Israel nga imong mga sulugoon. Isugid ko kanimo ang mga sala sa katawhan sa Israel, nga nakasala kami batok kanimo. Nakasala ako ug ang panimalay sa akong amahan.
Let thy ear now be attentive, and thy eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
7 Nagpakadaotan kami pag-ayo, ug wala namo gituman ang imong mga sugo, mga balaod, ug ang tulumanon nga imong gimando sa imong alagad nga si Moises.
We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou didst command thy servant Moses.
8 Palihog hinumdomi ang pulong nga imong gimando sa imong alagad nga si Moises, 'Kung dili kamo magmatinumanon, patibulaagon ko kamo sa ubang mga nasod,
Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou didst command thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
9 apan kung mobalik kamo kanako ug sundon ninyo ang akong mga sugo ug tumanon kini, bisan magkatibulaag ang imong katawhan sa halayo nga dapit, tigomon ko kamo pag-usab gikan didto ug dalhon ko kamo sa dapit nga akong gipili aron magpabilin ang akong ngalan.'
But if ye turn to me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you driven to the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from there, and will bring them to the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
10 Karon imoha silang mga sulugoon ug imong katawhan, sa diin imong giluwas pinaagi sa imong dakong gahom ug sa kusgang kamot.
Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
11 Nagpakilooy ako kanimo, Yahweh, paminawa karon ang pag-ampo sa imong alagad ug sa pag-ampo sa imong mga alagad nga nagpasidungog sa imong ngalan. Karon hatagi ang imong alagad ug kalamposan, ug ihatag kaniya ang kalooy sa atubangan niining tawhana.” Nag-alagad ako ingon nga tigtagay ngadto sa hari.
O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thy ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.
