Nehemias 8
1 Nagtapok ang tanang katawhan ingon nga usa ka tawo didto sa hawan nga dapit atubangan sa Ganghaan sa Tubig. Gihangyo nila si Ezra nga escriba nga dad-on ang libro sa balaod ni Moises, nga maoy gimando ni Yahweh ngadto sa Israel.
And the seventh month came: and the children of Israel were in their cities. And all the people were gathered together as one mall to the street which is before the water gate, and they spoke to Esdras the scribe, to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
2 Sa unang adlaw sa ikapito nga bulan, gidala ni Ezra nga pari ang balaod atubangan sa panagtigom, taliwala sa mga kababayen-an ug mga kalalakin-an, ug sa tanan nga makadungog ug makasabot.
Then Esdras the priest brought the law before the multitude of men and women, and all those that could understand, in the first day of the seventh month.
3 Miatubang siya sa hawan nga dapit atubangan sa Ganghaan sa Tubig, ug gibasa niya kini sugod sa sayo sa kabuntagon hangtod sa udtong tutok, atubangan sa mga kalalakin-an ug mga kababayen-an, ug ni bisan kinsa nga makasabot, ug naminaw gayod pag-ayo ang tanang katawhan sa libro sa balaod.
And he read it plainly in the street that was before the water gate, from the morning until midday, before the men, and the women, and all those that could understand: and the ears of all the people were attentive to the book.
4 Unya mitindog si Ezra nga escriba didto sa habog nga kahoyng entablado nga gihimo sa mga katawhan alang niini nga katuyoan. Nagtindog tupad kaniya sila Matitia, Shema, Anaya, Uria, Hilkia, ug si Maasea, sa iyang tuo nga bahin; ug si Pedaya, Mishael, Malkia, Hashum, Hashbadana, Zacarias, ug si Meshulam nga nagtindog sa iyang wala nga bahin.
And Esdras the scribe stood upon a step of wood, which he had made to speak upon, and there stood by him Mathathias, and Semeia, and Ania, and Uria, and Helcia, and Maasia, on his right hand: and on the left, Phadaia, Misael, and Melchia, and Hasum, and Hasbadana, Zacharia and Mosollam.
5 Gibukhad ni Ezra ang libro sa atubangan sa tanang mga katawhan, kay nagtindog man siya labaw sa mga katawhan, ug sa dihang gibukhad na niya kini nanindog ang tanang katawhan.
And Esdras opened the book before all the people: for he was above all the people: and when he had opened it, all the people stood.
6 Nagpasalamat si Ezra ngadto kang Yahweh, ang bantogan nga Dios, ug gibayaw sa tanang katawhan ang ilang mga kamot ug mitubag, “Amen! Amen!” Unya miyukbo sila ug nagsimba kang Yahweh nga nanghapa sa yuta.
And Esdras blessed the Lord the great God: and all the people answered, Amen, amen: lifting up their hands: and they bowed down, and adored God with their faces to the ground.
7 Bisan paman sila Jeshua, Bani, Sherebia, Jamin, Akub, Shabetai, Hodia, Maasea, Kelita, Azaria, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaya- nga mga Levita- nga mitabang sa pagpasabot sa balaod ngadto sa katawhan, samtang nagpabilin ang katawhan sa ilang mga dapit.
Now Josue, and Bani, and Serebia, Jamin, Accub, Sephtai, Odia, Maasia, Celtia, Azarias, Jozabed, Hanan, Phalaia, the Levites, made silence among the people to hear the law: and the people stood in their place.
8 Gibasa nila ang libro, Ang Balaod sa Dios, gipaklaro kini uban ang paghubad ug gihatag ang buot ipasabot aron nga masabtan sa katawhan ang maong basahon.
And they read in the book of the law of God distinctly and plainly to be understood: and they understood when it was read.
9 Si Nehemias nga gobernador, ug si Ezra nga pari ug escriba, ug ang mga Levita nga naghubad sa mensahe ngadto sa mga katawhan miingon ngadto kanila, “Balaan kini nga adlaw alang kang Yahweh nga inyong Dios. Ayaw pagsubo ug paghilak.” Tungod kay nanghilak ang tanang katawhan sa dihang nadungog nila ang mga pulong sa balaod.
And Nehemias (he is Athersatha) and Esdras the priest and scribe, and the Levites who interpreted to all the people, said: This is a holy day to the Lord our God: do not mourn, nor weep: for all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
10 Unya miingon si Nehemias kanila, “Pamalik kamo, kaona ang tambok sa karne ug pag-inom sa matam-is nga ilimnon, ug ipadala ang uban niini ngadto sa usa nga wala makaandam, kay balaan kini nga adlaw sa atong Ginoo. Ayaw pagbangotan, kay ang kalipay ni Yahweh mao ang imong kusog.”
And he said to them: Go, eat fat meats, and drink sweet wine, and send portions to them that have not prepared for themselves: because it is the holy day of the Lord, and be not sad: for the joy of the Lord is our strength.
11 Busa gipahilom sa mga Levita ang katawhan, ug miingon, “Paghilom! kay balaan kini nga adlaw. Ayaw pagbangotan.”
And the Levites stilled all the people, saying: Hold your peace, for the day is holy, and be not sorrowful.
12 Ug mipauli ang tanang katawhan aron sa pagpangaon ug pag-inom ug sa pagpangdalit ug pagkaon ug aron sa pagsaulog uban ang dakong kalipay tungod kay nasabtan nila ang mga pulong nga gisulti ngadto kanila.
So all the people went to eat and drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth: because they understood the words that he had taught them.
13 Sa ikaduha nga adlaw ang mga pangulo sa mga katigulangan, ang mga pamilya gikan sa tibuok katawhan, ang mga pari ug ang mga Levita, nanagtigom ngadto kang Ezra nga escriba aron sa pagbaton ug panglantaw gikan sa mga pulong sa balaod.
And on the second day the chiefs of the families of all the people, the priests, and the Levites were gathered together to Esdras the scribe, that he should interpret to them the words of the law.
14 Nahibaloan nila sa sinulat nga balaod ang mando ni Yahweh pinaagi kang Moises nga kinahanglan magpuyo sa mga tolda ang katawhan sa Israel sa panahon sa kasaulogan sa ikapito nga bulan.
And they found written in the law, that the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in tabernacles, on the feast, in the seventh month:
15 Kinahanglan magbuhat sila ug pagsangyaw sa tibuok mga siyudad, ug sa Jerusalem, nga nag-ingon, “Pangadto kamo sa kabungtoran nga nasod, ug pagdala ug mga sanga gikan sa olibo ug ihalas nga mga olibong kahoy, ug gikan sa mirtol, mga palmera ug dahonon nga mga kahoy, aron sa pagbuhat ug mga tolda, sama sa nahisulat.”
And that they should proclaim and publish the word in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying: Go forth to the mount, and fetch branches of olive, and branches of beautiful wood, branches of myrtle, and branches of palm, and branches of thick trees, to make tabernacles, as it is written.
16 Busa nangadto ang mga katawhan nga nagdala ug mga sanga ug nagbuhat alang sa ilang kaugalingon ug mga tolda, sa ilang matag-usa ka mga atop, sa ilang mga hawanan, sa hawanan sa balay sa Dios, sa hawanang dapit atubangan sa Ganghaan sa Tubig, ug sa plasa didto sa Ganghaan sa Efraim.
And the people went forth, and brought. And they made themselves tabernacles every man on the top of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.
17 Nagbuhat ug mga tolda ang tanang pundok niadtong mga namalik gikan sa pagkabinihag ug didto na sila namuyo. Kay sukad pa sa panahon ni Josue ang anak nga lalaki ni Nun hangtod nianang adlawa, wala na gayod magsaulog pa ang katawhan sa Israel niining maong kasaulogan, ug busa hilabihan gayod ang ilang kalipay.
And all the assembly of them that were returned from the captivity, made tabernacles, and dwelt in tabernacles: for since the days of Josue the son of Nun the children of Israel had not done so, until that day: and there was exceeding great joy.
18 Bisan paman matag adlaw, gikan sa unang adlaw hangtod sa kataposan, gibasa ni Ezra ang libro gikan sa balaod sa Dios. Nagsaulog sila sa kasaulogan sulod sa pito ka adlaw ug sa ikawalo nga adlaw mao ang maligdong nga panagtigom, aron sa pagtuman sa kasugoan.
And he read in the book of the law of God day by day, from the first day till the last, and they kept the solemnity seven days, and in the eighth day a solemn assembly according to the manner.
