Nehemias 6
1 Karon sa dihang nadungog ni Sanbalat, ni Tobia, ug ni Gershem nga taga-Arabia ug ang uban namo nga mga kaaway nga gitukod nako pagbalik ang pader ug wala nay nahibiling guba nga mga bahin nga abri, bisan tuod wala pa nako mataod ang mga pultahan sa mga ganghaan,
And when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had built the wall, and that there were no more breaches therein, (though at that time I had not set vp the doores vpon the gates)
2 nagpadala ug mensahe kanako si Sanbalat ug si Gershem nga nag-ingon, “Dali, magtagbo kita didto sa kapatagan sa Ono.” Apan nagtinguha sila sa pagdagmal kanako.
Then sent Sanballat and Geshem vnto me, saying, Come thou that we may meete together in the villages in the plaine of Ono: and they thought to doe me euill.
3 Nagpadala ako ug mga mensahero ngadto kanila, sa pag-ingon, “Nagbuhat ako ug dako nga buluhaton, ug dili ako makalugsong. Nganong kinahanglan man maundang ang trabaho samtang biyaan ko kini ug molugsong diha kaninyo?”
Therefore I sent messengers vnto them, saying, I haue a great worke to doe, and I can not come downe: why should the worke cease, whiles I leaue it, and come downe to you?
4 Nagpadala sila ug mao gihapon nga mensahe kanako sa upat ka higayon, ug gitubag ko sila sa samang paagi sa matag higayon.
Yet they sent vnto me foure times after this sort. And I answered them after the same maner.
5 Gipadala ni Sanbalat ang iyang sulugoon nganhi kanako sa samang paagi sa ikalima nga higayon, uban sa binukhad nga sulat nga anaa sa iyang kamot.
Then sent Sanballat his seruant after this sorte vnto me the fift time, with an open letter in his hand,
6 Mao kini ang nahisulat, “Gibalita kini sa mga nasod, ug miingon usab si Gershem niini, nga ikaw ug ang mga Judio naglaraw sa pagpakigbatok, tungod niana gitukod nimo pagbalik ang pader. Gikan niining maong balita giingon, nga hapit kana nila nga mamahimong hari.
Wherein was written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu hath sayd it, that thou and the Iewes thinke to rebel, for the which cause thou buildest the wall and thou wilt bee their King according to these wordes.
7 Nagtuboy ka usab ug mga propeta aron maghimo niining pagpahayag mahitungod kanimo didto sa Jerusalem, nga nag-ingon, 'Adunay hari sa Juda!' Makasigurado ka gayod nga madungog sa hari kining maong mga balita. Busa dali, mag-istorya kita.”
Thou hast also ordeyned the Prophets to preach of thee at Ierusalem, saying, There is a King in Iudah: and nowe according to these wordes it shall come to the Kings eares: come now therefore, and let vs take counsell together.
8 Unya nagpadala ako ug mensahe ngadto kaniya nga nag-ingon, “Walay mga butang nga nahitabo sama sa imong gipanulti, tungod kay tinumotumo lang kini gikan sa imong kasingkasing.”
Then I sent vnto him, saying, It is not done according to these wordes that thou sayest: for thou feynest them of thine owne heart.
9 Tungod kay buot nila nga mahadlok kaming tanan, sa paghunahuna nga, “Moundang sila sa pagtrabaho, ug dili kini mahuman.” Apan karon, O Dios, palihog lig-ona ang akong mga kamot.
For all they afrayed vs, saying, Their handes shalbe weakened from the worke, and it shall not be done: nowe therefore incourage thou me.
10 Miadto ako sa balay ni Shemaya ang anak nga lalaki ni Delaya nga anak nga lalaki ni Mehetabel, nga dili makabiya sa iyang balay. Miingon siya, “Magtagbo kita sa balay sa Dios, sa sulod sa templo, ug sirad-an nato ang mga pultahan sa templo, kay moanhi sila aron sa pagpatay kanimo. Sa pagkagabii moanhi sila aron sa pagpatay kanimo.”
And I came to the house of Shemaiah the sonne of Delaiah the sonne of Mehetabeel, and he was shut vp, and he said, Let vs come together into the house of God in the middes of the Temple, and shut the doores of the Temple: for they will come to slay thee: yea, in the night will they come to kill thee.
11 Mitubag ako, “Modagan ba ang tawo nga sama kanako? Moadto ba sa templo ang tawo nga sama kanako aron lang maluwas niya ang iyang kaugalingong kinabuhi? Dili ako moadto!”
Then I said, Should such a man as I, flee? Who is he, being as I am, that would go into the Temple to liue? I will not goe in.
12 Nakaamgo ako nga dili ang Dios ang nagpadala kaniya, apan nanagna siya batok kanako. Gisuholan siya ni Sanbalat ug ni Tobia.
And loe, I perceiued, that God had not sent him, but that he pronounced this prophecie against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
13 Gisuholan nila siya aron hadlokon ako, aron nga himoon nako ang iyang giingon ug makasala, aron nga daoton nila ang akong ngalan ug aron nga maulawan ako.
Therefore was he hyred, that I might be afrayde, and doe thus, and sinne, and that they might haue an euill report that they might reproche me.
14 Hinumdomi si Tobia ug si Sanbalat, akong Dios, ug ang tanan nilang gibuhat. Hinumdomi usab ang babayeng propeta nga si Noadia ug ang ubang mga propeta nga misulay paghadlok kanako.
My God, remember thou Tobiah, and Sanballat according vnto these their workes, and Noadiah the Prophetesse also, and the rest of the Prophets that would haue put me in feare.
15 Busa nahuman ang pader sa ika-25 nga adlaw sa bulan sa Elul, human sa 52 ka mga adlaw.
Notwithstanding the wall was finished on the fiue and twentieth day of Elul, in two and fiftie dayes.
16 Sa dihang nadungog kini sa tanan namong mga kaaway, ang tanang nasod nga naglibot kanamo, nangahadlok sila pag-ayo ug nangawad-an ug pagsalig sa ilang mga kaugalingon. Tungod kay nasayod sila nga nahuman ang buluhaton pinaagi sa panabang sa among Dios.
And when all our enemies heard thereof, euen all the heathen that were about vs, they were afraid, and their courage failed them: for they knew, that this worke was wrought by our God.
17 Nagpadala ug daghang mga sulat ang mga halangdon nga tawo sa Juda ngadto kang Tobia niining higayona, ug miabot ang mga sulat ni Tobia ngadto kanila.
And in these dayes were there many of the princes of Iudah, whose letters went vnto Tobiah, and those of Tobiah came vnto them.
18 Tungod kay daghan ang anaa sa Juda nga nakahimo ug panaad ngadto kaniya, tungod kay umagad siya nga lalaki ni Shecania ang anak nga lalaki ni Ara. Ang iyang anak nga lalaki nga si Jehohanan gipangasawa ang anak nga babaye ni Meshulam nga anak nga lalaki ni Berekia.
For there were many in Iudah, that were sworne vnto him: for he was the sonne in lawe of Shechaniah, the sonne of Arah: and his sonne Iehonathan had the daughter of Meshullam, the sonne of Berechiah.
19 Gisultihan usab ako nila mahitungod sa iyang mga maayong buhat ug gisulti usab nila pagbalik ngadto kaniya ang akong mga gipamulong. Gipadad-an ako ug mga sulat gikan kang Tobia aron sa paghadlok kanako.
Yea, they spake in his praise before me, and tolde him my wordes, and Tobiah sent letters to put me in feare.
