Lucas 4
1 Unya si Jesus, napuno sa Balaang Espiritu, sa dihang mibalik siya gikan sa Suba sa Jordan, ug gitultolan siya sa Espiritu ngadto sa kamingawan sulod
Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and was led about by the Spirit in the Desert for forty days,
2 sa kwarenta ka adlaw ug gitintal siya sa yawa didto. Niadtong mga adlawa, wala gayod siyay gikaon bisan unsa, ug sa kataposan nga adlaw gigutom siya pag-ayo.
tempted all the while by the Devil. During those days He ate nothing, and at the close of them He suffered from hunger.
3 Ang yawa miingon kaniya, “Kung ikaw ang Anak sa Dios, mando-i kining bato nga mahimong pan.”
Then the Devil said to Him, "If you are God's Son, tell this stone to become bread."
4 Si Jesus mitubag kaniya, “Nahisulat kini, 'Nga ang Tawo dili mabuhi sa pan lamang.'”
"It is written," replied Jesus, "'It is not on bread alone that a man shall live.'"
5 Unya gidala siya sa yawa sa taas nga dapit, ug gipakita kaniya ang tanan nga mga gingharian sa kalibutan niadtong higayona.
The Devil next led Him up and caused Him to see at a glance all the kingdoms of the world.
6 Ang yawa nag-ingon kaniya, “Ihatag ko kanimo ang katungod nga magdumala sa tanan gingharian, ug ang tanan nga kaanyag niini. Ako kining mabuhat tungod kay gihatag kini kanako nga akong dumalahan, ug mahimo nako ihatag ni bisan kinsa nga akong gusto.
And the Devil said to Him, "To you will I give all this authority and this splendour; for it has been handed over to me, and on whomsoever I will I bestow it.
7 Busa kung moyukbo ka kanako ug mosimba ka kanako, ang tanan niini maimo.”
If therefore you do homage to me, it shall all be yours.'
8 Apan si Jesus mitubag ug miingon kaniya, “Nahisulat kini, 'Kinahanglan simbaha ang Ginoo nga imong Dios, ug siya lang gayod ang alagari.'”
Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'To the Lord thy God thou shalt do homage, and to Him alone shalt thou render worship.'"
9 Sunod ang yawa nagtultol kang Jesus didto sa Jerusalem ug gibutang siya sa pinakataas nga bahin sa templo, ug miingon kaniya, “Kung ikaw ang Anak sa Dios, ambak sa imong kaugalingon gikan diri.
Then he brought Him to Jerusalem and caused Him to stand on the roof of the Temple, and said to Him, "If you are God's Son, throw yourself down from here; for it is written,
10 Kay nahisulat kini, “Iyang suguon ang iyang mga anghel nga moatiman kanimo, aron panalipdan ka.'
'He will give orders to His angels concerning thee, to guard thee safely;'
11 ug, 'Pagasapnayon ka nila sa ilang mga kamot, aron nga dili maigo ang imong mga tiil batok sa bato.'”
and 'On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest at any moment thou shouldst strike thy foot against a stone.'"
12 Si Jesus mitubag kaniya nga nag-ingon, “Gipamulong kini, 'Ayaw sulayi ang Ginoo nga imong Dios.'”
The reply of Jesus was, "It is said, 'Thou shalt not put the Lord they God to the proof.'"
13 Sa dihang nahuman na sa yawa tintala si Jesus, nagpalayo siya ug mibiya kaniya hangtod sa sunod na usab nga higayon.
So the Devil, having fully tried every kind of temptation on Him, left Him for a time.
14 Unya si Jesus mibalik sa Galilea uban sa gahom sa Espiritu, ug ang balita mahitungod kaniya mikaylap sa tibuok rehiyon nga palibot niini.
Then Jesus returned in the Spirit's power to Galilee; and His fame spread through all the adjacent districts.
15 Nanudlo siya sa mga sinagoga, ug ang tanan nagdayeg kaniya.
And He proceeded to teach in their synagogues, winning praise from all.
16 Usa kadlaw miadto siya sa Nazaret, sa siyudad kung aha siya nagdako. Ingon sa iyang naandan, misulod siya sa sinagoga sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay, ug mitindog siya ug iyang gibasa ang kasulatan.
He came to Nazareth also, where He had been brought up; and, as was His custom, He went to the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.
17 Ang linukot nga basahon nga sinulat ni propeta Isaias ang gihatag kaniya, unya iyang gi-ablihan ang linukot nga basahon ug nakaplagan niya didto ang nahisulat,
And there was handed to Him the book of the Prophet Isaiah, and, opening the book, He found the place where it was written,
18 “Ang Espiritu sa Ginoo anaa kanako, Tungod kay gidihogan ako niya sa pagsangyaw sa maayong balita ngadto sa mga kabos. Gipadala ako niya aron sa pagpahibalo sa kagawasan ngadto sa mga dinakpan, Ug makakita pag-usab ang mga buta, Mohatag ug kagawasan ngadto sa gipang-daugdaug,
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim Good News to the poor; He has sent me to announce release to the prisoners of war and recovery of sight to the blind: to send away free those whom tyranny has crushed,
19 Aron ipahibalo ang tuig sa pagkamaayo sa Ginoo.”
to proclaim the year of acceptance with the Lord."
20 Unya iyang gisirado ang linukot nga basahon, gibalik niya kini ngadto sa piniyalan sa sinagoga, ug milingkod siya. Ang mga mata sa mga tawo nga naa sa sinagoga nagtutok kaniya.
And rolling up the book, He returned it to the attendant, and sat down--to speak. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
21 Nagsugod siya pag-ingon kanila, “Karon nga adlaw ang kasulatan natuman na pinaagi sa inyong nadunggan.”
Then He proceeded to say to them, "To-day is this Scripture fulfilled in your hearing."
22 Ang tanan nga naa didto naka-saksi sa iyang gisulti ug silang tanan nahibulong sa malomanay niyang mga pulong nga migula sa iyang baba. Nag-ingon sila, “Usa lang kini ka anak ni Jose, dili ba?”
And they all spoke well of Him, wondering at the sweet words of kindness which fell from His lips, while they asked one another, "Is not this Joseph's son?"
23 Si Jesus miingon ngadto kanila, “Sigurado gayod moingon kamo kanako bahin niining panultihon, 'Mananambal, tambali imong kaugalingon. Kung unsa ang among nadunggan sa Capernaum, buhata usab diri sa imong lungsod.'”
"Doubtless," said He, "you will quote to me the proverb, 'Physician, cure yourself: all that we hear that you have done at Capernaum, do here also in your native place.'"
24 Miingon usab siya, “Sultihan ko kamo, walay propeta nga dawaton sa iyang kaugalingong lugar.
"I tell you in solemn truth," He added, "that no Prophet is welcomed among his own people.
25 Apan sultian ko kamo sa kamatuoran daghan ang mga balo sa Israel sa panahon ni Elias, sa dihang ang langit nisirado nga wala na nag-ulan sulod sa tulo ka tuig ug tunga, ug adunay dakong gutom sa tibuok nasod.
But I tell you in truth that there was many a widow in Israel in the time of Elijah, when there was no rain for three years and six months and there came a severe famine over all the land;
26 Apan si Elias wala gipaadto bisan asa kanila, apan didto siya gipadala sa usa ka biyuda nga nagpuyo sa Zarefat nga duol sa syudad sa Sidon.
and yet to not one of them was Elijah sent: he was only sent to a widow at Zarephath in the Sidonian country.
27 Aduna usab daghan nga mga sanglahon sa Israel sa panahon ni propeta Eliseo, apan walay bisan usa nga giayo ngadto kanila gawas kang Naaman nga taga-Siria.”
And there was also many a leper in Israel in the time of the Prophet Elisha, and yet not one of them was cleansed, but Naaman the Syrian was."
28 Ang tanang mga tawo nga anaa sa sinagoga napuno sila sa kalagot sa dihang nadungog nila kining mga butanga.
Then all in the synagogue, while listening to these words, were filled with fury.
29 Mitindog sila ug ilang gipugos siya pagawas sa siyudad, ug ila siyang gidala sa tumoy sa bungtod diin natukod ang maong siyudad, aron ila siyang ihulog sa pangpang.
They rose, hurried Him outside the town, and brought Him to the brow of the hill on which their town was built, to throw Him down the cliff;
30 Apan milakaw siya sa ilang taliwala ug nagpadayon sa iyang panaw.
but He passed through the midst of them and went His way.
31 Unya milugsong siya sa Capernaum, ang siyudad sa Galilea. Usa ka adlaw sa Igpapahulay nagtudlo siya sa mga tawo sa sinagoga.
So He came down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, where He frequently taught the people on the Sabbath days.
32 Nahibulong sila pag-ayo sa iyang gipanudlo, tungod kay nagsulti siya nga adunay katungdanan.
And they were greatly impressed by His teaching, because He spoke with the language of authority.
33 Karon sa Sinagoga nianang adlawa adunay usa ka tawo nga nasudlan sa hugaw nga espiritu sa demonyo, misinggit siya sa makusog niyang tingog,
But in the synagogue there was a man possessed by the spirit of a foul demon. In a loud voice he cried out,
34 “Unsa man ang among buhaton alang kanimo, Jesus nga Nazaretnon? Mi-anhi kaba aron sa paglaglag kanamo? Nakabalo ko kung kinsa ka! Ikaw ang Usa ka Balaan sa Dios!”
"Ha! Jesus the Nazarene, what have you to do with us? I know who you are--God's Holy One!"
35 Gibadlong ni Jesus ang demonyo, nga nag-ingon, “Pag-hilom ug gawas diha kaniya!” Sa dihang ang demonyo iyang gilabay ang tawo sa ilang tunga, migawas siya gikan sa iyaha nga walay kadaot.
But Jesus rebuked the demon. "Silence!" He exclaimed; "come out of him." Upon this, the demon hurled the man into the midst of them, and came out of him without doing him any harm.
36 Ang tanan tawo natingala pag-ayo, ug kanunay silang nag-istoryahanay sa matag usa mahitungod sa nahitabo. Miingon sila, “Unsa nga matang sa pinulongan kini? Nga mahimo niyang mandoan ang mga daotang espiritu nga adunay katungod ug gahom ug nanggula sila?”
All were astonished and awe-struck; and they asked one another, "What sort of language is this? For with authority and real power He gives orders to the foul spirits and they come out."
37 Busa ang balita mahitungod kaniya misugod ug kaylap sa tanang bahin nga palibot sa rehiyon.
And the talk about Him spread into every part of the neighbouring country.
38 Unya si Jesus mibiya sa sinagoga ug misulod sa balay ni Simon, karon ang ugangan ni Simon nga babaye nag-antos sa taas nga hilanat, ug nagpakiluoy sila kaniya alang sa iyang balatian.
Now when He rose and left the synagogue He went to Simon's house. Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from an acute attack of fever; and they consulted Him about her.
39 Busa mitindog siya sa iyang tapad ug iyang gibadlong ang hilanat, ug mibaya kini kaniya. Diha-diha mitindog siya ug nagsugod pag-alagad kanila.
Then standing over her He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she at once rose and waited on them.
40 Sa dihang mosalopay na ang adlaw, gidala sa mga tawo ngadto kang Jesus ang tanan nga adunay lain-lain nga balatian ug sakit. Gitapion niya ang iyang kamot ngadto sa tagsa-tagsa kanila ug nanga-ulian sila.
At sunset all who had friends suffering from any illness brought them to Him, and He laid His hands on them all, one by one, and cured them.
41 Ang mga demonyo usab nanggawas gikan sa kadaghanan kanila, ug nagsinggit nga nag-ingon, “Ikaw ang Anak sa Dios!” Gibadlong ni Jesus ang mga demonyo, wala niya kini tugoti nga moistorya, kay sila mismo nakabalo nga siya ang Cristo.
Demons also came out of many, loudly calling out, "You are the Son of God." But He rebuked them and forbad them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.
42 Sa dihang ang banagbanag sa kaadlawon miabot, miadto si Jesus sa mingaw nga dapit. Ang panon sa mga tawo nangita kaniya ug naabot sila sa lugar kung hain siya, nanghangyo sila nga dili mobiya kanila.
Next morning, at daybreak, He left the town and went away to a solitary place; but the people flocked out to find Him, and, coming to the place where He was, they endeavoured to detain Him that He might not leave them.
43 Apan miingon siya ngadto kanila, “Kinahanglan gayod ako mosangyaw sa maayong balita mahitungod sa gingharian sa Dios sa daghan pa nga mga siyudad, tungod kay kini ang hinungdan nga gipadala ako diri.”
But He said to them, "I have to tell the Good News of the Kingdom of God to the other towns also, because for this purpose I was sent."
44 Unya nagpadayon siya sa pagwali sa mga sinagoga sa tibuok probinsiya sa Judea.
And for some time He preached in the synagogues in Galilee.
