Lucas 23
1 Mitindog ang tibuok nila nga panon, ug gidala si Jesus sa atubangan ni Pilato.
AND the whole multitude of them rising up, led him to Pilate,
2 Nagsugod sila sa pagsumbong batok kaniya, nga nag-ingon, “Nakaplagan namo kining tawhana nga nagpasipala sa among nasod, ug nagdumili sa paghatag ug buhis kang Cesar, ug nag-ingon nga siya mismo ang Cristo, ang hari.”
and began to accuse him, saying, We have found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar; pretending that he himself is the King Messiah.
3 Nangutana si Pilato kaniya, nga nag-ingon, “Ikaw ba ang Hari sa mga Judio?” Ug mitubag si Jesus kaniya ug miingon, “Gipamulong mo na.”
Then Pilate interrogated him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said to him, Thou sayest so.
4 Miingon si Pilato sa mga pangulong pari ug sa panon sa katawhan, “Wala ako'y makita nga sayop niining tawhana.”
Then said Pilate unto the chief priests and the multitudes, I find nothing culpable in this man.
5 Apan namugos sila, nga nag-ingon, “Gisamok niya ang mga tawo, ug nanudlo sa tibuok Judea, gikan sa Galilea ug bisan dinhi nga dapit.”
But they were urgent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching through all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.
6 Busa sa pagkadungog ni Pilato niini, nangutana siya kong taga-Galilea ba ang maong tawo.
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean?
7 Sa pagkahibalo niya nga ubos siya sa katungod ni Herodes, gipaadala niya si Jesus ngaadto kang Herodes, nga sa iyang kaugalingon atoa usab sa Jerusalem niadtong mga adlawa.
And when he knew that he came out of Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was himself at Jerusalem in those days.
8 Sa pagkakita ni Herodes kang Jesus, nalipay kaayo siya, tungod kay dugay na nga panahon nga nangandoy siya aron makakita kaniya. Nakadungog siya mahitungod kaniya ug naglaom nga makakita sa mga milagro nga iyang buhaton.
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was vastly delighted: for he had been long desirous to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some miracle wrought by him.
9 Gipangutana ni Herodes si Jesus sa daghang mga pulong, apan wala siya tubaga ni Jesus.
And he put a variety of questions to him; but he made him no reply.
10 Nanindog ang mga pangulong pari ug mga escriba, ug nagsumbong batok kaniya sa hilabihan gayod.
And the chief priests and the scribes stood up vehemently accusing him.
11 Giinsulto siya ni Herodes uban sa iyang mga sundalo, ug gibiay-biay siya, ug gisul-oban ug nindot nga sinina, unya gipadala balik ngadto kang Pilato.
Then Herod with his guards treated him with contempt, and in derision clothed him in a splendid robe, and sent him back to Pilate.
12 Nahimong suod nga higala sa usag-usa si Herodes ug Pilato niadto gayod nga adlaw (kaniadto kaaway sila).
And Pilate and Herod the same day became friends together: for they had previously been at enmity with each other.
13 Unya gitawag ni Pilato ug gitapok ang mga pangulong pari ug ang mga magmamando ug ang panon sa katawhan,
Then Pilate, convoking the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 ug miingon kanila, “Gidala ninyo kanako kining tawhana daw tawo nga nagdumala sa katawhan nga nagbuhat ug daotan, ug tan-awa, ako, nangutana kaniya sa inyong atubangan, ug nakaplagan nako nga walay sayop kining tawhana kalabot niadtong mga butang nga gipasangil ninyo kaniya.
said unto them, Ye have brought this man to me, as one who perverteth the people: and lo! on examining him before you, I have found nothing culpable in this man, respecting the charges ye bring against him:
15 Ayaw, ni bisan si Herodes, kay gipadala niya ug balik kanato, ug tan-awa, dili takos sa kamatayon ang iyang nabuhat.
nor Herod neither: for I referred you to him; and, lo, nothing is done to this man, as if he deserved death.
16 Busa ako siyang silotan, ug buhian siya.”
I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
17 Ang labing maayo nga karaang mga kopya giwala sa Lucas 23: 17, Karon si Pilato kinahanglan nga mopagawas ug usa ka piniriso alang sa mga Judio sa kasaulogan.
(Now he held it necessary to release one to them at the feast.)
18 Apan naninggit silang tanan nga nag-ingon, “Palayo niini nga tawo, ug ipagawas si Barabas alang kanamo!”
Then the whole multitude set up a cry, saying, Away with this fellow, and release unto us Barabbas!
19 Si Barabas usa ka tawo nga gibutang sa prisohan tungod sa pagrebelde sa siyudad ug tungod sa pagpatay.
(who for a certain sedition raised in the city, and for murder, had been cast into prison.)
20 Nagsulti na usab si Pilato kanila, sa pagpangandoy nga buhian si Jesus.
Again therefore Pilate called out to them, desirous to see Jesus at liberty.
21 Apan naniyagit sila nga nagkanayon, “Ilansang siya sa krus, ilansang siya sa krus.”
But they clamoured the more, saying, Crucify, crucify him.
22 Miingon siya kanila sa ikatulong higayon, “Ngano, unsa ang nabuhat niya nga daotan? Wala ako'y nakita kaniya nga angay siyang silotan ug kamatayon. Busa human siya kastiguhon, buhian ko siya.”
Then the third time he said to them, What evil hath this man done? I have found nothing deserving death in him: I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
23 Apan namugos sila pinaagi sa kusog nga tingog, ug masuknaon nga ilansang siya sa krus. Ug nadani si Pilato sa ilang tingog.
But they were instant with the most clamorous vociferations, soliciting that he might be crucified. And their clamours, and those of the chief priests, bore him down.
24 Busa nakahukom si Pilato nga buhaton ang ilang gikinahanglan.
Then Pilate decreed that their petition should be granted.
25 Gibuhian niya ang ilang gipangayo nga usa ka piniriso tungod sa kagubot ug pagpatay. Apan gitugyan niya si Jesus sumala sa ilang kabubut-on.
Then released he to them him who for sedition and murder had been cast into prison; but he gave up Jesus to their will.
26 Sa dihang gidala nila siya palayo, gidakop nila si Simon nga Cireno nga gikan sa nasod, ug gibutang nila ang krus kaniya aron pas-anon, ug magsunod kang Jesus.
And as they led him out, laying hold on one Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, they laid on him the cross, to carry after Jesus.
27 Ang dako nga pundok sa tawo, ug ang mga babaye nga naguol ug nagbangutan alang kaniya, ang nagsunod kaniya.
And a great multitude of the people and of women followed him, who also beat their breasts and lamented him bitterly.
28 Apan milingi si Jesus kanila ug miingon, “Mga anak nga babaye sa Jerusalem, ayaw paghilak alang kanako, apan hilaki ninyo ang inyong mga kaugalingon ug ang inyong mga anak.
But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but for yourselves, and for your children.
29 Kay tan-awa, tungod kay moabot ang mga adlaw nga moingon sila, 'Bulahan ang mga baog ug ang mga sabakan nga walay sulod, ug ang mga suso nga walay mosuso.'
For, behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs which have not borne, and the breasts which never suckled.
30 Unya mosugod sila sa pagsulti sa mga kabungtoran, 'Tumpag kanamo,' ug sa mga bukid, 'Tabon kanamo.'
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover us!
31 Kay kon buhaton nila kini nga mga butang samtang lunhaw pa ang mga kahoy, unsa na lang ang mahitabo kung uga na kini?”
For if they do all these things with the green wood, what will be done with the dry?
32 Ang laing mga tawo nga duha ka kriminal, gidala usab palayo uban kaniya aron silotan sa kamatayon.
Now there were two other persons, malefactors, led out with him to be executed.
33 Sa dihang miabot sila sa dapit nga gitawag Ang Bagolbagol, didto gilansang nila siya sa krus uban ang mga kriminal, usa sa iyang tuo ug ang usa sa wala.
And when they came to a place called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, the one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 Miingon si Jesus, “Amahan, pasayloa sila, tungod kay wala sila masayod sa ilang gibuhat.” Ug nagripa sila, alang sa pagbahinbahin sa iyang mga sapot.
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Then dividing his garments, they cast the lot.
35 Nagtindog ang mga tawo nga nagtan-aw samtang ang mga pangulo nagbiay-biay kaniya, sa pag-ingon, “Giluwas niya ang uban. Ipaluwas kainya ang iyang kaugalingon, kung siya ang Cristo sa Dios, ang usa nga pinili.”
And the people stood looking on. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this fellow is the Messiah, the elect of God.
36 Gipanamastamasan usab siya sa mga sundalo, nga miduol kaniya, ug mihatag kaniya ug suka,
And the soldiers also insulted him, coming and offering him vinegar,
37 ug nag-ingon, “Kung ikaw ang Hari sa mga Judio, luwasa ang imong kaugalingon.”
and saying, if thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.
38 Aduna usab timaan sa ibabaw kaniya, “MAO KINI ANG HARI SA MGA JUDIO.”
And there was an inscription written over him in Greek, Roman, and Hebrew characters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Ang usa sa mga kriminal nga gilansang sa krus, nanginsulto kaniya nga nag-ingon, “Dili ba ikaw man ang Cristo? Luwasa ang imong kaugalingon ug kami.”
Then one of the suspended malefactors blasphemed him, saying, If thou art the Messiah, save thyself and us.
40 Apan mitubag ang usa nga nagbadlong kaniya sa pag-ingon, “Wala ka ba mahadlok sa Dios, tungod kay ikaw usab nakatagamtam sa maong silot?
But the other addressing him, rebuked him, saying, Hast thou no fear of God, when thou art under the same condemnation?
41 Matarong ang pagsilot kanato, tungod kay nadawat nato ang angay sa atong binuhatan. Apan walay daotang nabuhat kining tawhana.”
And we indeed justly, for we receive deserved punishment for the crimes we have committed: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 Ug midugang siya, “Jesus, hinumdumi ako kon moabot ka na sa imong gingharian.”
And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom.
43 Miingon si Jesus kaniya, “Sa pagkatinuod sultian ko ikaw, karon uban ka kanako sa paraiso.”
And Jesus said to him. Verily I say unto thee, To-day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
44 Ug karon miabot ang ikaunom nga takna, ug ang kangitngit mitabon sa tibuok yuta hangtod sa ikasiyam
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
45 nga takna kay napakyas man ang adlaw sa iyang kahayag. Unya natunga pagkagisi paubos ang kurtina sa templo.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 Misinggit si Jesus sa kusog nga tingog nga nagkanayon, “Amahan, itugyan ko sa imong mga kamot ang akong espiritu.” Pagsulti niya niini, namatay siya.
And Jesus crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit: and having said this, he expired.
47 Sa pagkakita sa centurion kon unsa ang nahitabo, gihimaya niya ang Dios nga nag-ingon, “Tinuod gayod nga matarong kining tawhana.”
And the centurion observing what had come to pass, glorified God, saying, Verily this man was a righteous person.
48 Sa dihang nakita sa kadaghanan nga nagtapok aron mosaksi sa mga nahitabo, namalik sila nga namukpok sa ilang mga dughan.
And all the multitudes who had come together for this spectacle, when they saw the things which were done, beating their breasts, returned.
49 Apan ang tanan nga nakaila kaniya, ug ang mga babaye nga nagsunod kaniya gikan sa Galilea, nanindog sa layo ug nagtan-aw niining mga butanga.
And all his acquaintance stood afar off, and the women which followed him from Galilee, beholding these things.
50 Tan-awa, adunay tawo nga ginganlag Jose nga sakop sa Konseho, maayo siya ug matarong nga tawo
And lo! a man named Joseph, being a member of the council, a good man, and a just;
51 (wala siya mouyon sa hukom ug sa ilang gibuhat), gikan sa Arimatea, nga usa ka siyudad sa mga Judio, diin naghulat alang sa gingharian sa Dios.
(who had not given his assent to their determination and deed; ) being of Arimathea, a city of the Jews: who himself also expected the coming of the kingdom of God.
52 Kining tawhana, nanghangyo kang Pilato, ug gipangayo ang lawas ni Jesus.
He went in to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 Gipaubos niya kini, ug giputos ug pino nga lino, ug gibutang siya sa lubnganan nga gibangag sa bato, ug wala pa kini mabutangi ni bisan kinsa.
And taking it down from the cross, he wrapped it in linen cloth, and laid it in a sepulchre hewn out of a rock, where none had ever yet lain.
54 Adlaw kadto sa Pagpangandam, ug ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay nagbanag-banag na.
And that was the preparation-day, and the sabbath’s twilight was approaching.
55 Ang mga babaye nga mikuyog kaniya gikan sa Galilea, nagsunod ug nakakita sa lubnganan ug kon giunsa pagbutang ang iyang lawas.
Then the women also, his attendants, who had followed him out of Galilee, observed the sepulchre, and how his corpse was laid out.
56 Mibalik sila ug giandam ang mga pahumot ug mga lana. Unya namahulay sila sa Adlaw nga Igpapahulay sumala sa kasugoan.
And returning, they made preparation of aromatics and unguents; and they rested the sabbath-day, according to the commandment.
