Josue 7
1 Apan ang katawhan sa Israel wala nagmatinumanon bahin sa mga butang nga gilain aron laglagon. Si Acan nga anak nga lalaki ni Carmi nga anak nga lalaki ni Zabdi nga anak nga lalaki ni Zera, gikan sa tribo ni Juda, mikuha sa mga butang nga gilain aron laglagon, ug misilaob ang kasuko ni Yahweh batok sa katawhan sa Israel.
But the children of Israel committed a trespass concerning the devoted thing; for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the devoted thing; and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
2 Nagpadala si Josue ug mga lalaki gikan sa Jerico ngadto sa Ai, nga duol sa Bet Aven, sa sidlakan nga bahin sa Betel. Miingon siya kanila, “Panungas kamo ug panid-i ang yuta.” Busa nanungas ang mga lalaki ug naniid sa Ai.
And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-aven, on the east side of Beth-el, and spoke unto them, saying: 'Go up and spy out the land.' And the men went up and spied out Ai.
3 Sa dihang nakabalik na sila kang Josue, miingon sila kaniya, “Ayaw ipadala ang tanang katawhan ngadto sa Ai. Pagpadala lamang ug duha o tulo ka libo ka mga kalalakin-an nga manungas ug mosulong sa Ai. Ayaw hagoa ang tanang tawo sa pagpakiggubat, kay diyutay lamang sila.”
And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him: 'Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; make not all the people to toil thither; for they are but few.'
4 Busa mikabat lamang ug 3, 000 ka mga kalalakin-an ang mitungas gikan sa kasundalohan, apan nanagan kini gikan sa mga kalalakin-an sa Ai.
So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men; and they fled before the men of Ai.
5 Mikabat ug 36 ka mga kalalakin-an ang napatay sa mga kalalakin-an sa Ai samtang gigukod nila sila gikan sa ganghaan sa siyudad hangtod sa kabatoan, ug gipatay nila sila samtang milugsong sila sa bungtod. Ug nangahadlok ang mga kasingkasing sa mga tawo ug nawad-an sila sa kaisog.
And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men; and they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them at the descent; and the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
6 Unya gigisi ni Josue ang iyang mga bisti. Siya ug ang mga kadagkoan sa Israel nagbutang ug abog sa ilang mga ulo ug mihapa sa yuta atubangan sa sagradong sudlanan sa kasabotan ni Yahweh, ug nagpabilin didto hangtod sa gabii.
And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust upon their heads.
7 Unya miingon si Josue, “Oh, Yahweh nga Ginoo, nganong gipadala man nimo kining mga tawhana tabok sa Jordan? Aron itugyan lang ba kami sa mga kamot sa mga Amorihanon aron malaglag kami? Kung nakahimo lamang unta kami ug lahi nga paghukom ug nagpabilin nalang kami sa pikas bahin sa Jordan!
And Joshua said: 'Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast Thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? would that we had been content and dwelt beyond the Jordan!
8 Ginoo, unsa man ang akong ikaingon, human mitalikod ang Israel sa atubangan sa ilang mga kaaway?
Oh, Lord, what shall I say, after that Israel hath turned their backs before their enemies!
9 Kay ang mga Canaanhon ug ang tanang namuyo sa yuta makadungog niini. Palibotan nila kami ug himoon ang mga tawo sa kalibotan nga mahikalimot sa among ngalan. Ug unsa man ang imong buhaton alang sa imong bantogan nga ngalan?”
For when the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land hear of it, they will compass us round, and cut off our name from the earth; and what wilt Thou do for Thy great name?'
10 Miingon si Yahweh kang Josue, “Tindog! Nganong naghapa kaman diha?
And the LORD said unto Joshua: 'Get thee up; wherefore, now, art thou fallen upon thy face?
11 Nakasala ang Israel. Gilapas nila ang akong kasabotan nga akong gimando kanila. Gikawat nila ang pipila sa mga butang nga gilain. Gikawat nila ug unya gitago usab ang ilang sala pinaagi sa pagbutang sa mga gipangkuha nila ngadto sa ilang mga gipanag-iyahan.
Israel hath sinned; yea, they have even transgressed My covenant which I commanded them; yea, they have even taken of the devoted thing; and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have even put it among their own stuff.
12 Tungod niini, ang mga tawo sa Israel dili na makabarog sa atubangan sa ilang mga kaaway. Mitalikod sila gikan sa ilang mga kaaway tungod kay sila mismo gilain aron laglagon. Dili na gayod ako mouban kaninyo gawas kung daoton ninyo ang mga butang nga angay nga laglagon, apan anaa pa gihapon sa inyong taliwala.
Therefore the children of Israel cannot stand before their enemies, they turn their backs before their enemies, because they are become accursed; I will not be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.
13 Tindog! Balaana ang katawhan nganhi kanako ug ingna sila, 'Balaana ang inyong mga kaugalingon alang ugmang adlawa. Kay si Yahweh, nga Dios sa Israel miingon, “Adunay mga butang nga gilain aron laglagon nga anaa pa gihapon kaninyo, Israel. Dili kamo makabarog batok sa inyong mga kaaway hangtod nga inyong kuhaon gikan kaninyo ang tanang butang nga gilain aron laglagon.”
Up, sanctify the people, and say: Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow; for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: There is a curse in the midst of thee, O Israel; thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.
14 Sa pagkabuntag, kinahanglan nga inyong ipaila ang inyong mga kaugalingon pinaagi sa inyong mga tribo. Ang tribo nga pilion ni Yahweh moduol sumala sa ilang mga banay. Ang banay nga pilion ni Yahweh kinahanglan nga moduol sa matag panimalay. Ang panimalay nga pilion ni Yahweh kinahanglan nga moduol sa tinagsa.
In the morning therefore ye shall draw near by your tribes; and it shall be, that the tribe which the LORD taketh shall come near by families; and the family which the LORD shall take shall come near by households; and the household which the LORD shall take shall come near man by man.
15 Mahitabo kini nga siya nga gipili ug adunay mga butang nga gilain aron laglagon, pagasunogon siya, siya ug ang tanan nga anaa kaniya, tungod kay gilapas man niya ang kasabotan ni Yahweh ug tungod kay nakahimo man siya ug makauulaw nga butang sa Israel.'”
And it shall be that he that is taken with the devoted thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath; because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought a wanton deed in Israel.'
16 Busa, mibangon si Josue sa sayo sa kabuntagon ug gidala paduol ang Israel, tribo sa tribo, ug ang tribo ni Juda ang napili.
So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel near by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken.
17 Gipaduol ni Josue ang mga banay sa Juda, ug ang mga banay sa mga Zerahanon ang napili. Gipaduol niya ang banay sa mga Zerahanon tawo sa tawo, ug si Zabdi ang napili.
And he brought near the family of Judah; and he took the family of the Zerahites. And he brought near the family of the Zerahites man by man; and Zabdi was taken.
18 Gipaduol niya ang panimalay ni Zabdi, tawo sa tawo, ug si Acan nga anak nga lalaki ni Carmi, nga anak nga lalaki ni Zabdi, nga anak nga lalaki ni Zera, gikan sa tribo ni Juda, ang napili.
And he brought near his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
19 Unya miingon si Josue kang Acan, “Akong anak, isulti ang kamatuoran sa atubangan ni Yahweh, ang Dios sa Israel, ug isugid ang imong sala kaniya. Palihog sultihi ako kung unsa ang imong nabuhat. Ayaw kini ililong kanako.
And Joshua said unto Achan: 'My son, give, I pray thee, glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and make confession unto Him; and tell me now what thou hast done; hide nothing from me.'
20 Mitubag si Acan kang Josue, “Sa pagkatinuod, nakasala ako batok kang Yahweh, ang Dios sa Israel. Mao kini ang akong nabuhat:
And Achan answered Joshua, and said: 'Of a truth I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done.
21 Sa dihang nakita ko taliwala sa inilog nga mga butang ang maanindot nga kupo nga gikan sa Babilonia, 200 ka shekels sa plata, ug usa ka bareta nga bulawan nga 50 shekels ang gibug-aton, nagtinguha ako niini ug gikuha ko kini. Natago kini sa yuta sa tungatunga sa akong tolda, ug ang plata anaa sa ilalom niini.”
When I saw among the spoil a goodly Shinar mantle, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it.'
22 Misugo ug mga mensahero si Josue, nga midagan ngadto sa tolda ug atua didto ang mga butang. Sa dihang mitan-aw sila, nakaplagan nila kini nga nakatago sa iyang kaugalingon nga tolda, ug ang plata anaa sa ilalom niini.
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.
23 Gikuha nila ang mga butang gikan sa taliwala sa tolda ug gidala kini ngadto kang Josue ug sa tanang katawhan sa Israel. Giyabo nila kini sa atubangan ni Yahweh.
And they took them from the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel; and they laid them down before the LORD.
24 Unya si Josue, ug ang tibuok Israel nga uban kaniya, nagkuha kang Acan nga anak ni Zera, ug ang plata, ang kupo, ang bareta sa bulawan, ang iyang anak nga mga lalaki ug mga babaye, ang iyang mga torong baka, ang iyang mga asno, ang iyang mga karnero, ang iyang tolda, ug ang tanan nga anaa kaniya, ug gidala nila kini ngadto sa walog sa Acor.
And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the mantle, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up unto the valley of Achor.
25 Unya miingon si Josue, “Nganong gisamok mo man kami? Pagasamokon ka ni Yahweh karong adlawa.” Gibato siya sa tibuok Israel. Ug gisunog nila silang tanan, ug gibato nila sila.
And Joshua said: 'Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day.' And all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones.
26 Gitabonan nila siya ug daghang gipatongpatong nga mga bato nga ania gihapon hangtod karong adlawa. Giwala na ni Yahweh ang iyang nagdilaab nga kasuko. Busa ginganlan ang maong dapit ug walog sa Acor hangtod karong adlawa.
And they raised over him a great heap of stones, unto this day; and the LORD turned from the fierceness of His anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called The valley of Achor, unto this day.
