Jeremias 1
1 Mao kini ang mga pulong ni Jeremias nga anak nga lalaki ni Hilkia, ang usa sa mga pari sa Anatot sa yuta ni Benjamin.
The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests, who dwelt in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin;
2 Miabot kaniya ang pulong ni Yahweh sa mga adlaw ni Josia nga anak nga lalaki ni Amon, nga hari sa Juda, sa ikanapulog tulo ka tuig sa iyang paghari.
to whom the word of Jehovah came in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign;
3 Miabot usab kini sa mga adlaw ni Jehoyakim nga anak nga lalaki ni Josia, ang hari sa Juda, hangtod sa ikalima nga bulan sa ikanapulog usa ka tuig ni Zedekia nga anak ni Josia, ang hari sa Juda, sa dihang gikuha ang katawhan sa Jerusalem ingon nga mga binilanggo.
to whom it also came in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem into captivity in the fifth month.
4 Miabot kanako ang pulong ni Yahweh, nga nag-ingon,
The word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
5 “Gipili ko na ikaw; sa wala ko pa ikaw gihulma sa tagoangkan, gilain ko na ikaw sa wala ka pa nahimugso gikan sa tagoangkan; gihimo ko na ikaw nga propeta sa kanasoran.”
Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee; and before thou camest into the world, I chose thee; I appointed thee to be a prophet to the nations.
6 Ah, Ginoong Yahweh!” Miingon ako, “Dili ako kahibalo mamulong, tungod kay batan-on pa kaayo ako.”
Then said I, Alas, O Lord Jehovah! Behold, I am not able to speak; for I am a child.
7 Apan miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Ayaw pagsulti nga, 'Batan-on pa kaayo ako.' Kinahanglan nga molakaw ka bisan asa ko ikaw ipadala, ug kinahanglan nimong isulti kung unsa ang gimando ko kanimo!
But Jehovah said to me, Say not, I am a child; but go to whomever I send thee, and speak whatever I command thee!
8 Ayaw kahadlok kanila, kay mag-uban ako kanimo aron sa pagluwas kanimo—mao kini ang pahayag ni Yahweh.”
Be not afraid of them! For I am with thee to help thee, saith Jehovah.
9 Unya gituy-od ni Yahweh ang iyang kamot ug gihikap ang akong baba, ug miingon kanako, “Karon, gibutang ko na ang akong pulong sa imong baba.
Then Jehovah put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. Jehovah also said to me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 Gipili ko ikaw karon ibabaw sa mga nasod ug ibabaw sa mga gingharian, aron sa pag-ibot ug sa paggun-ob, aron sa paglaglag ug pagpukan, aron sa pagtukod ug sa pagtanom.”
Behold, I have set thee this day over nations and over kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to overthrow; and to build, and to plant.
11 Miabot kanako ang pulong ni Yahweh, nga nag-ingon, “Unsa man ang imong nakita, Jeremias?” Miingon ako, “Nakita ko ang usa ka sanga sa kahoy nga almond.”
Then the word of Jehovah came to me, saying, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, I see a rod of almond-wood.
12 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Husto ang imong nakita, kay nagabantay ako sa akong pulong aron nga matuman kini.”
And Jehovah said to me, Thou hast seen right; for I am watchful over my word to perform it.
13 Miabot kanako ang pulong ni Yahweh sa ikaduhang higayon, nga nag-ingon, “Unsa man ang imong nakita?” Miingon ako, “Nakita ko ang gipainit nga kolon nga nagbukal-bukal, nag-atubang kini gikan sa amihanan.”
And the word of Jehovah came to me a second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a boiling pot, whose face is turned from the north.
14 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Moabot ang katalagman gikan sa amihanang bahin, ngadto sa tanang namuyo niini nga yuta.
And Jehovah said to me, From the north shall evil break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 Kay pagatawgon ko ang tanang tribo sa amihanang mga gingharian, gipahayag ni Yahweh. Moabot sila, ug magtukod ang matag usa sa iyang trono sa agianan sa mga ganghaan sa Jerusalem, batok sa tanang mga paril nga nakapalibot niini, ug batok sa tanang mga siyudad sa Juda.
For, behold, I will call all the tribes of the kingdoms of the north, saith Jehovah; and they shall come, and shall set every one his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all her walls around, and against all the cities of Judah.
16 Magpahayag ako ug silot batok kanila alang sa ilang daotang binuhatan sa pagsalikway kanako, sa pagsunog ug insenso ngadto sa laing mga dios, ug sa pagsimba sa mga binuhat sa ilang mga kamot.
And I will pronounce my judgments against them for all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshipped the work of their own hands.
17 Andama ang imong kaugalingon! Barog ug isulti kanila ang gisugo ko kanimo. Ayaw kalisang sa ilang atubangan, o lisangon ko ikaw sa ilang atubangan!
Thou, therefore, gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee; be not afraid of them, lest I confound thee before them.
18 Tan-awa! Karon gihimo ko ikaw nga sama sa lig-on nga siyudad, usa ka puthaw nga haligi, ug tumbaga nga mga paril batok sa tibuok yuta—batok sa mga hari sa Juda, sa mga opisyal niini, sa mga pari niini ug sa katawhan sa yuta.
For, behold, I make thee this day a fortified city, and a pillar of iron, and a wall of brass against all this land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
19 Makig-away sila batok kanimo, apan dili sila makapildi kanimo, kay mag-uban ako aron sa pagluwas kanimo—mao kini ang pahayag ni Yahweh.”
They shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee; for I will be with thee, saith Jehovah, to help thee.
