Jeremias 41

1 Apan nahitabo kini sa ikapitong bulan, nga miadto kang Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam sa Mizpa si Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Elishama, gikan sa harianong pamilya, ug ang pipila ka mga opisyal sa hari- napulo ka mga tawo nga uban kaniya. Nag-uban sila ug kaon didto sa Mizpa.

And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, of the blood royal, and one of the great officers of the king, and ten men with him, came to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, to Mizpah; and they ate bread there together in Mizpah.

2 Mitindog ug gipatay ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania, ug sa napulo ka mga tawo uban kaniya si Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam nga anak nga lalaki ni Shafan, pinaagi sa espada. Gipatay ni Ismael si Gedalia nga gihimo sa hari sa Babilonia nga magdumala sa yuta.

Then Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, arose, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.

3 Unya, gipatay usab ni Ismael ang tanang mga taga-Juda nga uban ni Gedalia sa Mizpa ug ang mga manggugubat nga kalalakin-an nga Caldeanhon nga nakaplagan didto.

And all the Jews that were with him, with Gedaliah at Mizpah, and the Chaldaeans that were found there, the men of war, did Ishmael smite.

4 Unya ikaduha na kadto nga adlaw human sa pagpatay kang Gedalia, apan wala pa gihapoy usa nga nasayod.

And it came to pass, the second day after he had slain Gedaliah, and no man knew it,

5 Adunay pipila ka mga tawo gikan sa Shekem, gikan sa Shilo, ug gikan sa Samaria—80 ka mga tawo nga gikiskisan ang ilang mga balbas, gigisi ang ilang mga bisti ug gisamaran ang ilang mga kaugalingon—nga nagdala ug mga pagkaon nga halad ug insenso sa ilang mga kamot aron moadto sa balay ni Yahweh.

that there came certain men from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, fourscore persons, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with an oblation and incense in their hands, to bring to the house of Jehovah.

6 Busa mitagbo kanila si Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania gikan sa Mizpa samtang nagpadulong sila, nga nagbaktas ug nanaghilak. Unya nahitabo kadto sa dihang natagboan na niya sila, miingon siya kanila, “Uban kamo ngadto kang Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam!”

And Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, went forth from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went; and when he met them, he said to them, “Come ye to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam.”

7 Nahitabo kana sa dihang miabot na sila sa siyudad, gipangpatay sila ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania ug gilabay sila ngadto sa atabay, siya ug ang mga tawo nga uban kaniya.

And when they had come into the midst of the city, Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, slew them, and cast them into the pit, he and the men that were with him.

8 Apan adunay napulo ka mga tawo nga uban kanila ang misulti kang Ismael, “Ayaw kami patya, kay aduna kami mga pagkaon didto sa among uma: trigo ug sebada, lana ug dugos.” Busa wala niya sila patya uban sa iyang mga kaubanan.

But ten men were found among them who said to Ishmael, “Slay us not, for we have hidden stores in the field, of wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey.” He forbore, therefore, and slew them not with their brethren.

9 Dako ang atabay diin gilabay ni Ismael ang mga patay nga lawas sa mga tawo nga iyang gipatay, nga gipakalot ni Haring Asa aron pagpanalipod batok kang Haring Baasha sa Israel. Gipuno kini ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania ug patay nga mga lawas.

Now the pit into which Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he slew, together with Gedaliah, is the same which King Asa made on account of Baasha, king of Israel; and Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, filled it with them that were slain.

10 Human niini, gidakop usab ni Ismael ang uban pang katawhan nga atua sa Mizpa, ang mga anak nga babaye sa hari ug ang tanang katawhan nga nahibilin sa Mizpa nga gitugyan ni Nebuzaradan nga pangulo sa tigpanalipod ngadto kang Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam. Busa nadakpan sila ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania ug mipadayon sa pagtabok ngadto sa mga katawhan sa Amon.

And Ishmael took captive all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, had committed to the charge of Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam; even Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, took them captive, and set forth to go over [[the Jordan]] to the children of Ammon.

11 Apan nadunggan ni Johanan nga anak ni Karea ug sa mga pangulo sa kasundalohan nga uban kaniya ang tanang kadaot nga gibuhat ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania.

But when Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, heard of all the evil which Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had done,

12 Busa gidala nila ang tanan nilang katawhan ug nakiggubat batok kang Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania. Nakit-an nila siya sa dakong linaw sa Gibeon.

they took all the men, and went up to fight with Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, and came up with him at the great waters that are in Gibeon.

13 Unya nahitabo kadto nga sa dihang nakita sa tanang katawhan nga uban ni Ismael si Johanan nga anak nga lalaki ni Karea ug ang tanang mga pangulo sa kasundalohan nga uban kaniya, nalipay sila pag-ayo.

And when all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, they were glad;

14 Busa mibalhin ang tanang katawhan nga nadakpan ni Ismael sa Mizpa ug miadto kang Johanan nga anak nga lalaki ni Karea.

and all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah faced about and returned, and went to Johanan, the son of Kareah.

15 Apan mikalagiw si Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania uban ang walo ka kalalakin-an gikan kang Johanan. Miadto siya sa katawhan sa Amon.

But Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.

16 Gidala ni Johanan nga anak nga lalaki ni Karea ug sa tanang mga pangulo sa kasundalohan ang tanang katawhan nga ilang naluwas gikan kang Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania gikan sa Mizpa. Nahitabo kini human gipatay ni Ismael si Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam. Gikuha ni Johanan ug sa iyang mga kaubanan ang mga kusgan nga kalalakin-an, mga manggugubat, mga kababayen-an ug mga kabataan ug ang mga yunuko nga ilang naluwas gikan sa Gibeon.

Then took Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after he had slain Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, strong men, men of war, and women, and children, and eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gibeon;

17 Unya miadto sila ug nagpabilin sa mubo nga higayon sa Gerut Kimham, nga duol sa Betlehem. Padulong sila sa Ehipto

and they went, and tarried in the inn of Chimham, which is near Bethlehem, in order to flee into Egypt

18 tungod sa mga Caldeanhon. Nahadlok sila kanila tungod kay gipatay man ni Ismael nga anak nga lalaki ni Netania si Gedalia nga anak nga lalaki ni Ahikam, nga maoy gipadumala sa hari sa yuta sa Babilonia.

from the Chaldaeans; for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael, the son of Nethaniah, had slain Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.
