Jeremias 35
1 Miabot ang pulong ni Yahweh ngadto kang Jeremias sa mga adlaw ni Jehoyakin ang anak nga lalaki ni Josia nga hari sa Juda, nga nag-ingon,
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:
2 “Lakaw ngadto sa panimalay sa mga Recabnon ug pakigsulti kanila. Unya dad-a sila sa akong puloy-anan, sulod sa usa sa mga lawak didto, ug daliti sila ug bino aron imnon.”
“Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and lead them into the house of the Lord, into one of the halls of the treasuries. And you shall give them wine to drink.”
3 Busa gidala ko si Jaazania ang anak nga lalaki ni Jeremias ang anak nga lalaki ni Habazinia ug ang iyang mga igsoong lalaki, ang tanan niyang mga anak nga lalaki, ug ang tanang panimalay sa Recabnon.
And so I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the entire house of the Rechabites,
4 Gidala ko sila ngadto sa puloy-anan ni Yahweh, sulod sa mga lawak sa mga anak nga lalaki ni Hanan ang anak nga lalaki ni Igdalia, ang tawo sa Dios. Kini nga mga lawak tupad sa lawak sa mga pangulo, nga anaa sa ibabaw sa lawak ni Maasea ang anak nga lalaki ni Shalum, ang tigbantay sa ganghaan.
and I led them into the house of the Lord, to the treasury of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was near the treasury of the princes, above the storehouse of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, who was the guardian of the entrance.
5 Unya akong gibutang sa atubangan sa mga Recabnon ang mga panaksan ug mga kopa nga puno sa bino ug miingon ako kanila, “Inom kamo ug diyutay nga bino.”
And I placed before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls filled with wine, and chalices. And I said to them, “Drink wine.”
6 Apan miingon sila, “Dili kami moinom sa bisan unsang bino, kay si Jonadab ang anak nga lalaki ni Recab, nagmando man kanamo, 'Ayaw kamo pag-inom sa bisan unsang bino, bisan ikaw o ang imong mga kaliwat, hangtod sa kahangtoran.
And they responded: “We will not drink wine. For Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, instructed us, saying: ‘You shall not drink wine, you and your sons, in perpetuity.
7 Ayaw usab kamo pagtukod ug bisan unsang mga puloy-anan, magpugas ug mga binhi, ni magtanom ug bisan unsang parasan; dili kini alang kaninyo. Kay kinahanglan magpuyo kamo sa mga tolda sa tanan ninyong mga adlaw, aron nga magpuyo kamo sa daghang mga adlaw sa yuta kung diin kamo nagpuyo ingon nga mga langyaw.'
And you shall not build houses, and you shall not sow any seeds, and you shall not plant or have vineyards. Instead, you shall live in tents all your days, so that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are sojourners.’
8 Nagtuman kami sa tingog ni Jonadab ang anak nga lalaki ni Recab, ang among katigulangan, sa tanan nga iyang gimando kanamo, nga dili moinom ug bino sa tanan namong mga adlaw, kami, ang among mga asawa, ang among mga anak nga lalaki, ug among mga anak nga babaye.
Therefore, we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he has commanded us, so that we do not drink wine all our days, we and our wives, our sons and daughters.
9 Dili gayod kami magtukod sa among mga puloy-anan nga among kapuy-an, ug walay parasan, uma, o binhi nga among panag-iyahon.
And we do not build houses in which to live. And we do not have vineyard, or field, or seed to sow.
10 Nagpuyo kami sa mga tolda ug nagtuman kami ug gibuhat ang tanang gimando kanamo sa among katigulangan nga si Jonadab.
Instead, we live in tents, and we have been obedient in accord with all that Jonadab, our father, has instructed us.
11 Apan sa dihang gisulong ni Nebucadnezar nga hari sa Babilonia ang yuta, miingon kami, 'Dali, kinahanglan nga moadto kita sa Jerusalem aron makaikyas gikan sa kasundalohan sa Chaldean ug sa Armenian.' Busa nagpuyo na kami sa Jerusalem.”
But when Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had ascended to our land, we said: ‘Come and let us enter into Jerusalem, before the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and before the face of the army of Syria.’ And we have remained in Jerusalem.”
12 Unya miabot ang pulong ni Yahweh ngadto kang Jeremias, nga nag-ingon,
And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
13 “Si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, nag-ingon niini, 'Lakaw ug sultihi ang mga tawo sa Juda ug ang mga lumolupyo sa Jerusalem, “Dili ba kamo modawat ug pagbadlong ug mopatalinghog sa akong mga pulong? —mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not accept discipline, so that you obey my words, says the Lord?
14 Ang mga pulong ni Jonadab ang anak nga lalaki ni Recab nga gihatag ngadto sa iyang mga anak nga lalaki ingon nga usa ka mando, nga dili moinom sa bisan unsang bino, nga ginasunod pa gihapon hangtod karon. Gituman nila ang mga mando sa ilang mga katigulangan. Apan alang kanako, magpadayon ako sa pagmantala nganha kaninyo, apan wala kamo nagpatalinghog kanako.
The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he instructed his sons, so that they would not drink wine, have prevailed. And they have not drunk wine, even to this day. For they have obeyed the instruction of their father. But I have spoken to you, rising and speaking from early morning, and you did not obey me.
15 Gipadala ko nganha kaninyo ang tanan kong mga alagad, ang mga propeta. Nagpadayon ako sa pagpadala kanila aron sa pagsulti, 'Pabiyaa ang matag tawo gikan sa daotan niyang binuhatan ug magbuhat sa maayong binuhatan; tugoti nga wala nay bisan usa ang magsunod sa laing mga dios ug magsimba niini. Hinuon, balik sa yuta nga akong gihatag kaninyo ug sa inyong katigulangan.' Apan wala gihapon kamo mipatalinghog kanako ni nagtagad kanako.
And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and saying: ‘Convert, each one from his wicked way, and make your intentions good. And do not choose to follow strange gods, nor shall you worship them. And then you shall live in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers.’ And yet you have not inclined your ear, and you have not heeded me.
16 Kay ang mga kaliwat ni Jonadab ang anak nga lalaki ni Recab nagsunod man sa mga mando sa ilang katigulangan nga iyang gihatag kanila, apan kining mga tawhana nagdumili sa pagpamati kanako.'”
So the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have remained firm in the commandment of their father, which he instructed to them, while this people has not been obedient to me.
17 Busa si Yahweh, ang Dios nga makagagahom ug ang Dios sa Israel, miingon niini, 'Tan-awa, ipahamtang ko sa Juda ug sa tanang lumolupyo sa Jerusalem, ang tanang katalagman nga akong gisulti batok kanila tungod kay nagsulti man ako kanila apan wala sila namati kanako; nagtawag ako kanila, apan wala sila mitubag.'”
For this reason, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will lead over Judah and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every evil that I have declared against them. For I have spoken to them, and they have not listened. I have called to them, and they have not responded to me.”
18 Miingon si Jeremias ngadto sa panimalay sa mga Recabnon, “Miingon niini si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel: Namati kamo sa mga mando ni Jonadab nga inyong katigulangan ug gitipigan ninyo kining tanan—gituman ninyo ang tanan nga iyang gimando kaninyo nga inyong buhaton—
Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he has instructed you,
19 busa si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, miingon niini, 'Kanunay gayod nga adunay usa nga maggikan sa kaliwat ni Jonadab ang anak nga lalaki ni Recab aron mag-alagad kanako.'”
because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: There will not be a man lacking from the stock of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, standing in my sight, for all days.”
