Jeremias 29

1 Mao kini ang mga pulong sa linukot nga basahon nga gipadala ni propeta Jeremias nga gikan sa Jerusalem sa mga nahibilin nga mga pangulo sa mga binihag ug ngadto sa mga pari, mga propeta, ug sa tanang katawhan nga gibihag ni Nebucadnezar gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia.

Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,

2 Nahitabo kini human sa paghari ni Jehoyakin, ang rayna nga inahan, ug labaw nga mga opisyal, ang mga pangulo sa Juda ug sa Jerusalem, gipadala pahilayo ang mga trabahante gikan sa Jerusalem.

after the departure of Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, and the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificers, and the smiths, from Jerusalem,

3 Gipadala niya kining linukot nga basahon pinaagi sa kamot ni Elasa ang anak nga lalaki ni Shafan ug Gemaria nga anak ni Hikias nga lalaki ngadto kang Zedekia, ang hari sa Juda, nga gipadala ngadto kang Nebucadnezar nga hari sa Babilonia.

by the hand of Elasah, the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah, the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah, the king of Judah, sent to Babylon, to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, ) saying: —

4 Ang linukot nga basahon miingon, “Si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, nagsulti niini ngadto sa mga binihag kansang akong gipabihag gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia,

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:

5 'Pagtukod ug mga balay ug pagpuyo kanila. Pagtanom sa mga tanaman ug pagkaon sa bunga niini.

Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

6 Pangasawa ug panganak ug mga lalaki ug mga babaye. Unya hatagi ug pangasaw-onon ang inyong mga anak nga lalaki, ug hatagi ang inyong mga anak nga babaye ug mga pamanhunon. Tugoti sila nga makaanak ug lalaki ug mga babaye ug panaghan didto aron dili kamo mokunhod.

Take ye wives, and have sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and increase ye there, and be not diminished.

7 Pagmalinawon sa maong siyudad kung diin ko kamo gipabihag, ug pag-ampo kanako alang niini sanglit aduna may kalinaw alang kaninyo.'

And seek ye the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray for it to Jehovah, for in its peace shall be your peace.

8 Kay si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, nag-ingon niini, 'Ayaw tugoti nga ang inyong mga propeta nga anaa sa inyong taliwala ug sa inyong mga tighubad sa damgo nga molingla kaninyo, ug ayaw paminawa ang imong mga damgo.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets and your diviners, who are in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9 Kay nagpropesiya sila nga malimbongon diha kaninyo sa akong ngalan. Wala ko sila gipadala—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh.'

For they prophesy falsely to you in my name; I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.

10 Kay miingon si Yahweh niini, 'Sa dihang gidumalahan kamo sa Babilonia sulod sa 70 ka tuig, tabangan ko kamo ug tumanon ko ang akong maayong pulong alang kaninyo aron dad-on ko kamo pagbalik niining dapita.

For thus saith Jehovah: Surely, when seventy years shall be completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will perform for you my good promise, that I would bring you again to this place.

11 Kay ako nasayod sa akong mga plano alang kanimo—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—plano alang sa kalinaw ug dili sa kalisdanan, aron hatagan kamo sa kaugmaon ug paglaom.

For I know the designs which I have in mind concerning you, designs of good and not of evil, to give you a happy end, and fulfill your hopes.

12 Unya magtawag kamo kanako, ug maglakaw ug mag-ampo kanako, ug patalinghogan ko kamo.

Then ye shall call upon me, and go in peace; ye shall pray to me, and I will hear you;

13 Kay pangitaon ninyo ako ug makaplagan ako ninyo, tungod kay nangita man kamo kanako sa tibuok ninyong kasingkasing.

ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye search for me with all your heart.

14 Makaplagan ako ninyo—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—ug akong dad-on pagbalik ang inyong kadagaya; tigumon ko kamo gikan sa tanan nga kanasoran ug sa mga dapit diin ako kamong gipatibulaag—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—kay ako kamong pabalikon sa dapit kung diin gipabihag ko kamo.'

And I will be found by you, saith Jehovah, and I will bring you back from captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again to the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

15 Sukad miingon ka nga si Yahweh magpili ug mga propeta alang kanato sa Babilonia,

Since ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon,

16 Nagsulti niini si Yahweh ngadto sa hari nga naglingkod sa trono ni David ug sa tanan nga katawhan nga nagpuyo nianang siyudara, ang imong mga igsoong lalaki nga wala nahiapil kaninyo sa pagkabihag—

behold, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that went not forth with you into captivity, —

17 Nag-ingon si Yahweh nga makagagahom niini, 'Tan-awa, padad-an ko kamo ug espada, kagutom, ug mga balatian diha kaninyo. Kay himoon ko sila nga sama sa lata nga igera nga dili na maayong kan-on.

thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs, which cannot be eaten for badness.

18 Unya gukdon ko sila pinaagi sa espada, kagutom, ug katalagman ug himoon silang makalilisang sa panan-aw sa tanan nga gingharian sa kalibotan—makalilisang, mahimo silang tinunglo ug pagabugalbogalan, ug kaulawan nga butang sa mga kanasoran diin ako silang gipatibulaag.

And I will persecute them with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, and I will give them up to oppression in all kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I drive them;

19 Tungod kay wala sila naminaw sa akong mga pulong— mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh— nga akong gipadala ngadto kanila pinaagi sa akong mga alagad nga mga propeta. Gipadala ko sila pag-usab, apan wala kamo naminaw kanila— mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh.'

because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, when I sent to them my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith Jehovah.

20 Busa paminaw kamo sa pulong ni Yahweh, kamong tanan nga mga binihag nga gipadala gikan sa Jerusalem ngadto sa Babilonia,

Hear ye, therefore, the word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.

21 Si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, nagsulti niini mahitungod kang Ahab ang anak nga lalaki ni Kolaias ug Zedekia ang anak nga lalaki ni Maasea, nga nagpropesiya ug mga bakak diha kaninyo sa akong ngalan: Tan-awa, ako silang itugyan sa kamot ni Nebucadnezar ang hari sa Babilonia. Pagapatyon niya sila sa imong atubangan.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab, the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah, the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he shall slay them before your eyes.

22 Unya magasulti sa pagtunglo mahitungod niining mga tawhana pinaagi sa tanan nga mga binihag nga taga-Juda nga anaa sa Babilonia. Ang tunglo nag-ingon: Himoon unta kamo ni Yahweh nga mahisama kang Zedekia ug Ahab, nga gisunog sa hari sa Babilonia.

And from them shall be taken a curse among all the captives of Judah that are at Babylon, so that they shall say, “Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!”

23 Mahitabo kini tungod sa makauulaw nga mga butang nga ilang gibuhat sa Israel sa dihang nanapaw sa asawa sa ilang mga silingan ug nagpahayag ug bakak nga mga pulong sa akong ngalan, mga butang nga wala ko gimando kanila nga isulti. Kay ako lamang ang nasayod; ako ang saksi—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh.”

because they have practised villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I commanded them not. But I know it, and am a witness, saith Jehovah.

24 “Mahitungod kang Shemaya nga taga-Nehelam, nag-ingon niini:

And to Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, shalt thou say,

25 Si Yahweh nga makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, nag-ingon niini: Tungod kay nagpadala ka ug sulat sa imong ngalan ngadto sa tanang katawhan sa Jerusalem, ngadto kang Zofonias nga anak nga lalaki ni Maasea ang pari, ug sa tanan nga mga pari, ug nag-ingon,

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because thou hast sent letters in thy name to all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

26 Gihimo ikaw ni Yahweh nga pari imbis nga si Jehoyada ang pari, kay ikaw man ang tinugyanan sa balay ni Yahweh. Ikaw ang magdumala sa tanang katawhan nga nagpakabuang ug nagpakapropeta. Kinahanglan butangan mo sila ug kahoy nga lapad ug kadenahan.

Jehovah hath made thee priest in the room of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of Jehovah against every one that is mad and prophesieth, and that thou shouldst put him into the stocks, and into prison;

27 Busa karon, nganong wala man nimo badlonga si Jeremias nga taga-Anatot, nga nagpakapropeta batok kanimo?

now, therefore, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesieth to you?

28 Kay gipadala kita niya ngadto sa Babilonia ug nag-ingon, 'Taas kini nga panahon. Pagtukod ug mga balay ug pagpuyo niini, ug tamni ang mga tanaman ug kaon sa ilang mga bunga.”

For he hath sent to us at Babylon, saying, This captivity is long. Build ye houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

29 Gibasa sa pari nga si Zofonias kining maong sulat samtang naminaw si propeta Jeremias.

And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

30 Unya miabot ang pulong ni Yahweh kang Jeremias, nga nag-ingon,

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying:

31 “Ipadala ang pulong sa tanang mga binihag ug sultihi, 'Nag-ingon si Yahweh niini mahitungod kang Shemaya ang taga-Nehelam: Tungod kay si Shemaya nagpropesiya kaninyo, ug iya kamong gipatuo ug mga bakak,

Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah the prophet hath prophesied to you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in a lie,

32 Busa nag-ingon si Yahweh niini: Tan-awa, akong silotan si Shemaya ang taga-Nehelam ug ang iyang mga kaliwat. Wala gayoy tawo nga magpabilin niining katawhan. Wala gayoy maayo nga akong buhaton niining katawhan—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh—kay nagmantala man siya sa pagrebelde batok kang Yahweh.”

therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, and his offspring. There shall descend from him not a man to dwell among this people, and he shall not behold the good which I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; for he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.
