Jeremias 21
1 Ang pulong nga miabot kang Jeremias nga gikan kang Yahweh sa dihang gipadala ni Haring Zedekia si Pashur nga anak nga lalaki ni Malkia ug Zefania anak nga lalaki ni Maaseia ang mga pari alang kaniya. Miingon sila kaniya,
The word that came to Jeremias from the Lord, when king Sedecias sent unto him Phassur, the son of Melchias, and Sophonias, the son of Maasias the priest, saying:
2 “Pangayo ug tambag gikan kang Yahweh alang kanamo, tungod kay makiggubat kanamo si Nebucadnesar ang hari sa Babilonia. Tingali ug magbuhat siyag milagro alang kanamo, sama sa nilabay nga mga panahon, ug iyang paatrason ang among mga kaaway gikan kanamo.”
Inquire of the Lord for us, for Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon maketh war against us: if so be the Lord will deal with us according to all his wonderful works, that he may depart from us.
3 Busa miingon si Jeremias kanila, “Mao kini ang imong isulti kang Zedekia,
And Jeremias said to them: Thus shall you say to Sedecias:
4 'Si Yahweh, ang Dios sa Israel, miingon niini: Tan-awa, hapit ko na balihon ang gamit nga alang sa gubat nga anaa sa imong kamot, nga imong gigamit aron sa pagpakig-away sa hari sa Babilonia ug sa mga Chaldeanhon nga nagpaduol kaninyo gikan sa gawas sa mga pader! Tungod kay tapokon ko sila diha sa tungatunga sa siyudad.
Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon, and the Chaldeans, that besiege you round about the walls: and I will gather them together in the midst of this city.
5 Ug ako mismo ang makig-away batok kanimo uban sa gibakyaw nga kamot ug sa lig-on nga bukton, ug sa hilabihang kasuko.
And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand, and with a strong arm, and in fury, and in indignation, and in great wrath.
6 Tungod kay akong atakihon ang mga lumulupyo niining siyudara, ang mga tawo ug ang mga mananap. Mangamatay sila sa hilabihang hampak.
And I will strike the inhabitants of this city, men and beasts shall die of a great pestilence.
7 Human niini-mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh—si Zedekia ang hari sa Juda, ang iyang mga sulugoon, ang katawhan, ug si bisan kinsa nga magpabilin dinhi niining nasora pagkahuman sa hampak, sa espada ug sa kagutom, ihatag ko silang tanan ngadto sa kamot ni Nebucadnesar ang hari sa Babilonia, ug ngadto sa kamot sa ilang mga kaaway, ug sa kamot niadtong buot mopatay kanila. Unya patyon niya sila pinaagi sa sulab sa iyang espada. Dili niya sila kaluy-an, o luwason.'
And after this, saith the Lord, I will give Sedecias the king of Juda, and his servants, and his people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, and the sword, and the famine, into the hand of Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword, and he shall not be moved to pity, nor spare them, nor shew mercy on them.
8 Unya alang niining mga tawhana kinahanglan nga moingon ka, Nag-ingon si Yahweh niini: Tan-awa, Papilion ko kamo sa dalan sa kinabuhi ug sa dalan sa kamatayon.
And to this people thou shalt say: Thus saith the Lord: Behold I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.
9 Bisan kinsa nga magpabilin dinhi nga siyudad mamatay pinaagi sa espada, kagutom, ug sa hampak; apan si bisan kinsa nga mogawas ug moluhod sa mga Chaldeanhon nga anaa na sa inyong duol, mabuhi. Maluwas ang iyang kinabuhi.
He that shall abide in this city, shall die by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that shall go out and flee over to the Chaldeans, that besiege you, shall live, and his life shall be to him as a spoil.
10 Tungod kay moatubang ako batok niining nasora aron sa pagpadala ug katalagman ug dili kaayohan—mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh. Itugyan kini ngadto sa kamot sa hari sa Babilonia ug iya kining pagasunogon.'
For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, saith the Lord: it shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
11 Mahitungod sa panimalay sa hari sa Juda, pamati sa pulong ni Yahweh.
And to the house of the king of Juda: Hear ye the word of the Lord,
12 Panimalay ni David, miingon si Yahweh, Pagdala ug hustisya sa kabuntagon. Luwasa ang usa ka tawo nga gikawatan pinaagi sa kamot sa tigdaogdaog, o mogawas ang akong kasuko sama sa nagdilaab nga kalayo, ug walay bisan usa nga makapalong niini, tungod sa daotan ninyo nga mga binuhatan.
O house of David, this saith the Lord: Judge ye judgement in the morning, and deliver him that is oppressed by violence out of the hand of the oppressor: lest my indignation go forth like a fire, and be kindled, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your ways.
13 Tan-awa, lumulupyo sa mao nga walog! Nakigbatok ako kaninyo, bato sa patag—mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh-nakigbatok ako kang bisan kinsa nga nag-ingon, “Kinsa man ang mokanaog aron sa pag-ataki kanato?” o “Kinsa man ang mosulod sa atong mga balay?”
Behold I come to thee that dwellest in a valley upon a rock above a plain, saith the Lord: and you say: Who shall strike us? and who shall enter into our houses?
14 Giandam ko na ang bunga sa inyong mga tulomanon aron moanha kaninyo—mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh— ug maghaling ako ug kalayo diha sa mga baga nga sampinit, ug ugdawon niya ang tanan nga nakapalibot niini.'”
But I will visit upon you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the Lord: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof: and it shall devour all things round about it.
