Jeremias 17
1 “Ang sala sa Juda gisulat pinaagi sa puthaw nga pangsulat nga hait ang tumoy. Gikulit kini diha sa papan sa ilang mga kasingkasing ug diha sa mga sungay sa imong mga halaran.
The sin of Judah is recorded with a pen of iron, and with the sharp point of a jewel it is cut on their hearts of stone, and on the horns of their altars for a sign to them:
2 Bisan pa ug mahinumdoman sa ilang mga anak ang ilang mga halaran ug ang mga poste ni Asera nga anaa sa nagkatag nga mga kahoy ug anaa sa habog nga mga kabungtoran.
Their altars and their wood pillars under every branching tree, on the high hills and the mountains in the field.
3 Ang mga poste ni Asera nga atoa sa bukid sa hawan nga dapit. Ihatag ko ingon nga inilog ang imong kadato ug ang tanan nimong mga kabtangan, lakip ang imong habog nga mga lugar, tungod sa sala nga imong nabuhat sa tanan nimong ginsakopan.
I will give your wealth and all your stores to be taken away in war without a price, because of your sins in every part of your land.
4 Mawala kaninyo ang panulundon nga akong gihatag kaninyo. Himoon ko kamo nga ulipon sa inyong mga kaaway didto sa yuta nga wala ninyo hisayri, tungod kay gihalingan ninyo ang akong kasuko, nga magkalayo hangtod sa kahangtoran.”
And your hand will have to let go your heritage which I gave you; and I will make you a servant to your haters in a land which is strange to you: for you have put my wrath on fire with a flame which will go on burning for ever.
5 Miingon si Yahweh; “Tinunglo ang tawo nga nagsalig sa laing tawo; gihimo niyang kusog ang unod apan gipalayo niya ang iyang kasingkasing kang Yahweh.
This is what the Lord has said: Cursed is the man who puts his faith in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart is turned away from the Lord.
6 Tungod kay mahisama siya sa gamay nga sampinit didto sa Araba ug dili makakita sa bisan unsang maayo nga moabot. Magpuyo siya sa batoong mga dapit diha sa kamingawan, yuta nga walay tanom ug walay mga lumolupyo.
For he will be like the brushwood in the upland, and will not see when good comes; but his living-place will be in the dry places in the waste land, in a salt and unpeopled land.
7 Apan bulahan ang tawo nga mosalig kang Yahweh, tungod kay si Yahweh mao ang hinungdan sa iyang pagsalig.
A blessing is on the man who puts his faith in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 Kay sama siya sa kahoy nga natanom daplin sa sapa, magkatag ang iyang mga gamot sa katubigan. Dili kini mahadlok sa pag-abot sa ting-init, tungod kay kanunay nga lunhaw ang mga dahon niini. Dili kini mabalaka sa tuig nga tinghulaw, ug dili kini mohunong sa paghatag ug bunga.
For he will be like a tree planted by the waters, pushing out its roots by the stream; he will have no fear when the heat comes, but his leaf will be green; in a dry year he will have no care, and will go on giving fruit.
9 Ang kasingkasing mao ang labing limbongan sa tanan. Usa kini ka balatian; kinsa man ang makasabot niini?
The heart is a twisted thing, not to be searched out by man: who is able to have knowledge of it?
10 Ako si Yahweh, mao ang nag-susi sa hunahuna, ug ang mosulay sa kasingkasing. Hatagan ko ang tawo sumala sa iyang mga pamaagi, sumala sa bunga sa iyang mga binuhatan.
I the Lord am the searcher of the heart, the tester of the thoughts, so that I may give to every man the reward of his ways, in keeping with the fruit of his doings.
11 Adunay langgam nga maglumlom sa itlog sa uban. Adunay tawo nga madato sa dili matarong nga paagi, apan kung mahurot na ang katunga sa iyang mga adlaw, kadto nga pagkadato mobiya kaniya, ug sa katapusan mahimo siyang buangbuang.”
Like the partridge, getting eggs together but not producing young, is a man who gets wealth but not by right; before half his days are ended, it will go from him, and at his end he will be foolish.
12 “Halangdon nga trono ang dapit sa atong templo, sa sinugdan palang anaa na kini sa habog.
A seat of glory, placed on high from the first, is our holy place.
13 Si Yahweh ang paglaom sa Israel. Maulawan ang tanan nga mobiya kanimo. Kadtong anaa sa yuta nga mitalikod kanimo isulat diha sa abog. Tungod kay ilang gibiyaan si Yahweh, ang tuboran sa buhing tubig.
O Lord, the hope of Israel, all who give you up will be put to shame; those who go away from you will be cut off from the earth, because they have given up the Lord, the fountain of living waters.
14 Ayoha ako, Yahweh, ug mamaayo ako! Luwasa ako, ug maluwas ako. Tungod kay ikaw mao ang akong awit sa pagdayeg.
Make me well, O Lord, and I will be well; be my saviour, and I will be safe: for you are my hope.
15 Tan-awa, nag-ingon sila kanako, 'Asa naman ang pulong ni Yahweh? Paanhia kini!'
See, they say to me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.
16 Alang kanako, wala ako midagan ingon nga magbalantay sa pagsunod kanimo. Wala ako nangandoy sa adlaw sa katalagman. Nasayod ka sa mga pulong nga akong gisulti gikan sa akong mga ngabil. Nahimo kini diha sa imong presensya.
As for me, I have not said; Let the day of trouble come to them quickly; and I have not been hoping for the death-giving day; you have knowledge of what came from my lips; it was open before you.
17 Ayaw intawon ug kasuko kanako. Ikaw mao ang akong dalangpanan sa adlaw sa kalamidad.
Be not a cause of fear to me: you are my safe place in the day of evil.
18 Hinaot nga maulawan ang mga naggukod kanako, apan ayaw tugoti nga maulawan ako. Hinaot nga mahadlok sila, apan ayaw tugoti nga mahadlok ako. Ipadala ang adlaw sa kalamidad ngadto kanila ug dugmoka sila uban sa doble nimo nga bahin sa pagguba.”
Let them be put to shame who are attacking me, but let me not be shamed; let them be overcome with fear, but let me not be overcome: send on them the day of evil, and put them to destruction twice over.
19 Miingon si Yahweh niini kanako: “Lakaw ug tindog ngadto sa ganghaan sa mga tawo diin mosulod ang mga hari sa Juda ug sa dapit diin sila mogawas, unya sa uban usab nga mga ganghaan sa Jerusalem.
This is what the Lord has said to me: Go and take your place in the doorway of Benjamin, where the kings of Judah come in and by which they go out, and in all the doorways of Jerusalem;
20 Ingna sila, 'Paminawa ang pulong ni Yahweh, mga hari sa Juda ug kamong tanang katawhan sa Juda, ug ang tanang lumulupyo sa Jerusalem nga mosulod pinaagi niini nga mga ganghaan.
And say to them, Give ear to the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah, and all the people of Jerusalem who come in by these doors:
21 Miingon si Yahweh niini: “Pag-amping alang sa inyong mga kinabuhi ug ayaw kamo pagpas-an ug mga bug-at sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay aron dalhon kini ngadto sa mga ganghaan sa Jerusalem.
This is what the Lord has said: See to yourselves, that you take up no weight on the Sabbath day, or take it in through the doors of Jerusalem;
22 Ayaw pagdala ug mga palas-anon pagawas sa imong balay sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay. Ayaw pagtrabaho sa bisan unsang buluhaton, apan igahin ang adlaw nga Igpapahulay, ingon sa akong gisugo sa inyong mga katigulangan.'”
And take no weight out of your houses on the Sabbath day, or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy, as I gave orders to your fathers;
23 Wala sila naminaw o nagpatalinghog, apan ilang gipagahi ang ilang liog aron nga dili sila makadungog kanako ni modawat sa akong pagbadlong.
But they gave no attention and would not give ear, but they made their necks stiff so that they might not give ear and might not get teaching.
24 Mahitabo nga kung maminaw gayod kamo kanako-mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh—ug dili magdala ug palas-anon ngadto sa mga ganghaan sa siyudad sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay apan igahin hinuon kini nga adlaw ngadto kang Yahweh ug dili magbuhat ug bisan unsang buluhaton nianang adlawa,
And it will be, that if with all care you give ear to me, says the Lord, and take no weight through the doorways of this town on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work in it;
25 unya ang mga hari, mga prinsipe, ug kadtong naglingkod sa trono ni David moadto sa mga ganghaan sa siyudad sakay sa karwahe ug sa mga kabayo, sila ug ang ilang mga pangulo, mga kalalakin-an sa Juda ug mga lumulupyo sa Jerusalem, ug kini nga siyudad pagapuy-an hangtod sa kahangtoran.
Then through the doors of this town there will come kings and princes, seated on the seat of David, going in carriages and on horseback, they and their princes, and the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem: and this town will keep its place for ever.
26 Mangabot sila gikan sa mga siyudad sa Juda ug gikan sa tanang nakapalibot sa Jerusalem, gikan sa yuta sa Benjamin ug sa ubos nga mga yuta, gikan sa mga kabungtoran, ug gikan sa Negeb, nagdala ug mga halad sinunog ug mga sakripisyo, mga halad nga trigo ug mga insenso, pagpasalamat nga mga halad ngadto sa balay ni Yahweh.
And they will come from the towns of Judah, and from the places round about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowlands, and from the mountains, and from the South, with burned offerings and offerings of beasts and meal offerings and perfume and offerings of praise, to the house of the Lord.
27 Apan kung dili sila mamati kanako—sa paglain sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay ug magpas-an ug mga palas-unon ug mosulod sa mga ganghaan sa Jerusalem sa adlaw nga Igpapahulay—unya pagasindihan ko ang ilang mga ganghaan, ug sunugon niini ang mga kota sa Jerusalem, ug dili kini mapalong.”
But if you do not give ear to me, to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to let no weight be lifted and taken through the doors of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day: then I will put a fire in its doorways, burning up the great houses of Jerusalem, and it will never be put out.
