Jeremias 14
1 Mao kini ang pulong ni Yahweh nga miabot kang Jeremias mahitungod sa hulaw,
The worde of the Lord that came vnto Ieremiah, concerning the dearth.
2 “Pasagdi nga magbangotan si Juda; pasagdi nga mangatumba ang iyang mga ganghaan. Magsubo sila tungod sa yuta; mopatigbabaw gayod ang ilang paghilak alang sa Jerusalem.
Iudah hath mourned, and the gates thereof are desolate, they haue bene brought to heauinesse vnto the grounde, and the cry of Ierusalem goeth vp.
3 Nagpasag-ob ug tubig ang mga agalon ngadto sa ilang mga sulugoon. Sa pag-adto nila sa mga atabay wala silay nakita nga tubig. Mibalik sila nga walay dala; gitabonan nila ang ilang mga ulo sa hilabihang kaulaw.
And their nobles haue sent their inferiours to the water, who came to the welles, and founde no water: they returned with their vessels empty: they were ashamed and confounded, and couered their heads.
4 Tungod niini nangliki ang mga yuta, tungod kay walay ulan nga niabot sa yuta. Naulaw ang magdadaro nga mga lalaki busa gitabonan nila ang ilang mga ulo.
For the grounde was destroyed, because there was no rayne in the earth: the plowmen were ashamed, and couered their heads.
5 Kay bisan paman ang bayeng binaw mibiya sa iyang anak sa kaumahan, kay wala nay sagbot.
Yea, the hinde also calued in the fielde, and forsooke it, because there was no grasse.
6 Nagtindog ang mga ihalas nga mga asno ngadto sa hawan nga kapatagan ug naghalhal sila sama sa ihalas nga mga iro. Nangahalap na ang ilang mga mata, tungod kay wala na silay masibsib.
And the wilde asses did stande in the hygh places, and drew in their winde like dragons their eyes did faile, because there was no grasse.
7 Bisan pa kung mosaksi ang among mga sala batok kanamo, Yahweh, lihok alang sa kaayohan sa imong ngalan. Tungod kay nagkadaghan ang walay pagtuo namong mga binuhatan; nakasala kami batok kanimo.
O Lord, though our iniquities testifie against vs, deale with vs according to thy name: for our rebellions are many, we sinned against thee.
8 Ang paglaom sa Israel, siya nga maoy moluwas kaniya panahon sa kalisdanan, nganong mahisama ka man sa usa ka dumuduong sa yuta, sama sa langyaw nga naglatagaw ug nagpabilin lamang sa usa kagabii?
O the hope of Israel, the sauiour thereof in the time of trouble, why art thou as a strager in ye land, as one that passeth by to tary for a night?
9 Nganong nahisama ka man sa tawong nalibog, sama sa manggugubat nga wala nakahimo pagluwas kang bisan kinsa? Tungod kay anaa ka sa among taliwala, Yahweh! Ang imong ngalan gimantala nganhi kanamo. Ayaw kami biyai.
Why art thou as a man astonied, and as a strong man that cannot helpe? yet thou, O Lord, art in the middes of vs, and thy Name is called vpon vs: forsake vs not.
10 Miingon si Yahweh niini sa iyang katawhan: “Tungod kay ganahan silang maglatagaw, wala gayod nila gihikaw ang ilang mga tiil sa paghimo niini.” Wala gayod nahimuot si Yahweh kanila. Karon iyang hinumdoman ang ilang pagkadaotan ug silotan ang ilang mga sala.
Thus saith the Lord vnto this people, Thus haue they delited to wander: they haue not refrained their feete, therefore the Lord hath no delight in them: but he will now remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes.
11 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Ayaw pag-ampo alang sa kaayohan niining mga tawhana.
Then sayd the Lord vnto me, Thou shalt not pray to do this people good.
12 Tungod kay kung magpuasa sila, dili ko gayod dunggon ang ilang mga pagdangoyngoy, ug kung mohalad sila ug mga halad nga sinunog ug mga halad nga pagkaon, dili ako mahimuot niini. Tungod kay ako silang tapuson pinaagi sa espada, kagutom, ug hampak.”
When they fast, I will not heare their cry, and when they offer burnt offering, and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sworde, and by the famine and by the pestilence.
13 Unya miingon ako, “O, Ginoo nga Yahweh! Tan-awa! Miingon ang mga propeta ngadto sa mga katawhan, 'Dili ninyo makita ang espada; wala gayoy kagutom alang kaninyo, tungod kay ihatag ko kaninyo ang tinuod nga kasigurohan niining dapita.'''
Then answered I, Ah Lord God, beholde, the prophets say vnto them, Ye shall not see the sworde, neither shall famine come vpon you, but I wil giue you assured peace in this place.
14 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Nanagna ang mga propeta ug mga bakak pinaagi sa akong ngalan. Wala ko sila gipadala, ni mihatag kanila ug bisan unsang sugo o nakig-sulti man lang kanila. Apan ang ilang gipanagna diha kaninyo mao ang malimbongon nga mga panan-awon nga walay kapuslanan, ug malimbongon nga pagpanagna nga naggikan sa ilang mga hunahuna.”
Then the Lord said vnto me, The prophets prophecie lyes in my Name: I haue not sent them, neither did I command them, neither spake I vnto them, but they prophecie vnto you a false vision, and diuination, and vanitie, and deceitfulnes of their owne heart.
15 Busa miingon si Yahweh niini, “Mahitungod sa mga propeta nga nanagna pinaagi sa akong ngalan apan wala nako gipadala—kadtong miingon nga wala na gayoy espada o kagutom niining dapita: Mangamatay gayod kining mga propetaha pinaagi sa espada ug kagutom.
Therefore thus saith the Lord, Concerning the prophets that prophecie in my Name, whom I haue not sent, yet they say, Sworde and famine shall not be in this land, by sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
16 Unya ilabay kadtong mga tawo nga ilang gitagnaan ngadto sa kadalanan sa Jerusalem tungod sa kagutom ug espada, tungod kay wala na gayoy bisan usa nga molubong kanila—sila, ilang mga asawa, ilang mga anak nga lalaki, o ang ilang mga anak nga babaye— tungod kay ibubo ko ngadto kanila ang ilang pagkadaotan.
And the people to whome these prophets doe prophecie, shalbe cast out in the streetes of Ierusalem, because of the famine, and the sword, and there shall be none to bury them, both they, and their wiues, and their sonnes, and their daughters: for I wil powre their wickednes vpon them.
17 Isulti kini nga pulong ngadto kanila, 'Pasagdi nga magdagayday ang mga luha sa akong mga mata, adlaw ug gabii. Ayaw kini tugoti nga mohunong, tungod kay adunay dako nga pagkapukan sa putli nga mga anak nga babaye sa akong katawhan—usa ka dako ug dili matambalan nga samad.
Therefore thou shalt say this worde vnto them, Let mine eyes drop downe teares night and day without ceasing: for the virgine daughter of my people is destroyed with a great destruction, and with a sore grieuous plague.
18 Kung moadto ako sa kaumahan, adunay usa nga mamatay pinaagi sa espada! Kung moadto ako sa siyudad, adunay mga sakit tungod sa kagutom. Naglatagaw sa yuta ang propeta ug ang pari, ug wala sila nasayod niini.'''
For if I go into the field, behold the slaine with the sworde: and if I enter into the citie, behold them that are sicke for hunger also: moreouer the Prophet also and the Priest go a wandring into a land that they know not.
19 Gisalikway mo na ba sa hingpit ang Juda? Nagdumot kaba sa Zion? Nganong gisakit mo man kami kung wala na gayod kami kaayohan? Naglaom kami ug kalinaw, apan wala gayoy maayo— ug panahon sa kaayohan, apan tan-awa, ang kahadlok lamang ang anaa.
Hast thou vtterly reiected Iudah, or hath thy soule abhorred Zion? why hast thou smitten vs, that we cannot be healed? Wee looked for peace, and there is no good, and for the time of health, and behold trouble.
20 Among angkonon, Yahweh, ang among mga sala, ang sala sa among mga katigulangan, tungod kay nakasala gayod kami batok kanimo.
We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickednesse and the iniquitie of our fathers: for we haue sinned against thee.
21 Ayaw kami isalikway! Alang sa imong ngalan, ayaw himoa nga maulawan ang imong mahimayaong trono. Hinumdomi ug ayaw putla ang imong kasabotan uban kanamo.
Doe not abhorre vs: for thy Names sake cast not downe the throne of thy glory: remember and breake not thy couenant with vs.
22 Aduna bay mga diosdios nga makahimo sa kalangitan nga mohatag ug ulan ngadto sa kanasoran? Dili ba ikaw lang man, Yahweh nga among Dios, ang makabuhat niini? Naglaom kami kanimo, tungod kay ikaw ang nagbuhat niining tanan.
Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles, that can giue raine? or can the heauens giue showres? is it not thou, O Lord our God? therefore we will waite vpon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
