Jeremias 11

1 Miabot kang Jeremias ang pulong ni Yahweh, nga nag-ingon,

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2 “Paminaw sa mga pulong niining maong kasabotan, ug isangyaw kini sa matag lalaki didto sa Juda ug sa mga lumolupyo sa Jerusalem.

Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

3 Sultihi sila, 'si Yahweh, nga Dios sa Israel nagsulti niini: Tinunglo ang si bisan kinsa nga dili maminaw sa mga pulong niining maong kasabotan.

And say thou unto them, Thus hath said the Lord God of Israel, Cursed be the man that hearkeneth not to the words of this covenant,

4 Mao kini ang kasabotan nga akong gisugo sa inyong mga katigulangan nga hinumdoman nila ang adlaw sa akong pagdala kanila pagawas sa Ehipto, gikan sa hudno nga tunawanan ug puthaw. Miingon ako, “Paminaw sa akong tingog ug buhata kining tanang butang sumala sa akong gisugo kaninyo, kay mahimo kamo nga akong katawhan ug mahimo ako nga inyong Dios.”

Which I commanded your fathers on the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, Hearken to my voice, and do the same, in accordance with all which I may command you; and so shall ye be to me for a people, and I will be to you for a God;

5 Tumana ako aron nga mapamatud-an ko ang panumpa nga akong gisaad sa inyong mga katigulangan, ang panumpa nga ihatag ko kanila ang yuta diin nagadagayday ang gatas ug dugos, nga mao ang inyong gipuy-an karon.”' Unya ako, si Jeremias, mitubag ug miingon, “Oo, Yahweh!”

In order that I may fulfill the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give unto them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. And I answered, and said, So be it, O Lord.

6 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Isangyaw kining tanang butang diha sa mga siyudad sa Juda ug diha sa mga kadalanan sa Jerusalem. Isulti, 'Paminaw sa mga pulong niining maong kasabotan ug tumana kini.

Then said the Lord unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

7 Tungod kay nagahatag ako ug maligdong nga mga sugo sa inyong mga katigulangan gikan sa adlaw sa akong pagdala kanila pagawas sa yuta sa Ehipto hangtod niining higayona, mapinadayonon ako nga nagpasidaan kanila ug naga-ingon, “Paminaw sa akong tingog.”'

For I earnestly warned your fathers on the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt even until this day, sending out early and warning, saying, Hearken to my voice;

8 Apan wala sila maminaw o mihatag ug pagtagad. Naglakaw ang matag tawo diha sa pagkamasinupakon sa iyang daotang kasingkasing. Busa gidala ko ang tanang tunglo niining kasabotan nga akong gimando nga moabot batok kanila. Apan wala gihapon nagtuman ang katawhan.”

Yet they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear, but walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore did I bring over them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but which they did not.

9 Pagkahuman miingon si Yahweh kanako, “Adunay pagpakig-abin nga nahibaloan taliwala sa kalalakin-an sa Juda ug sa mga lumolupyo sa Jerusalem.

And the Lord said unto me, A conspiracy hath been found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

10 Mibalik sila sa mga kasaypanan sa ilang nahiunang mga katigulangan, nga nagdumili sa pagpaminaw sa akong pulong, ug hinuon milakaw sila ug misunod sa laing mga dios aron sa pagsimba kanila. Gilapas sa panimalay sa Israel ug sa panimalay sa Juda ang akong kasabotan nga akong gibuhat uban sa ilang mga katigulangan.

They are returned again to the iniquities of their earlier forefathers, who had refused to hearken to my words; and they themselves are [also] gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

11 Busa misulti si Yahweh niini, 'Tan-awa, hapit ko na ipahamtang ngadto kanila ang katalagman, ang katalagman nga dili nila maikyasan. Unya magtawag sila kanako, apan dili ako maminaw kanila.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will bring an evil upon them, from which they shall not be able to rid themselves; and they will cry unto me, but I will not hearken unto them.

12 Moadto ug magtawag ang mga siyudad sa Juda ug ang mga lumolupyo sa Jerusalem ngadto sa mga dios nga ilang gihatagan ug mga halad, apan dili gayod nila sila luwason sa panahon sa katalagman.

Then let the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense; but they shall not save them in the least in the time of their distress.

13 Tungod kay ikaw Juda, midaghan pag-ayo ang imong mga dios sama sa gidaghanon sa imong mga siyudad. Gihimo nimo ang daghang makauulaw nga mga halaran sa Jerusalem, mga halaran sa insenso alang kang Baal, sumala sa gidaghanon sa iyang kadalanan.

For equal to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and equal to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to the disgraceful idol, altars, to burn incense unto Ba'al.

14 Busa ikaw mismo, Jeremias, dili angay nga mag-ampo alang niining mga tawhana. Dili ka angay nga magbakho o mag-ampo alang kanila. Tungod kay dili ako maminaw sa dihang magpakitabang sila kanako diha sa ilang katalagman.

But thou—thou must not pray in behalf of this people, neither lift up in their behalf entreaty or prayer; for I will not hear at the time that they call unto me, because of their distress.

15 Ngano nga ang akong hinigugma, ang usa nga adunay hilabihan kadaghan ang daotang tinguha, diha sa akong balay? Dili makatabang kaninyo ang karne sa inyong mga halad. Nagmaya kamo tungod sa inyong daotang mga binuhatan.

What hath my beloved to do in my house, while she executeth the evil counsel of so many [sinners]? Yea, the holy flesh passeth away from thee; for even with thy wickedness, thou rejoicest still.

16 Gitawag kamo ni Yahweh kaniadto nga dahonon nga kahoyng olibo, maanindot uban sa bunga niini. Apan sunogon niya kini nga molanog sama sa dahunog sa bagyo; mangabali ang mga sanga niini.

An ever-green olive-tree, beautiful in fruit and form, did the Lord call thy name: with the noise of a great tumult hath he kindled fire around it, and they break off its branches.

17 Kay si Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom, ang usa nga mipahiluna kaninyo, nagsugo ug katalagman batok kaninyo tungod sa daotang mga binuhatan nga gihimo sa panimalay sa Israel ug sa panimalay sa Juda—gipasuko nila ako pinaagi sa paghatag ug mga halad kang Baal.”'

And the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, hath decreed evil against thee; on account of the wickedness of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves, to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Ba'al.

18 Gitugot ni Yahweh nga mahibaloan ko kining mga butanga, busa nahibaloan ko sila. Ikaw, Yahweh, ang naghimo nga makita ko ang ilang mga binuhatan.

And the Lord hath given me knowledge of it, and I know it: then didst thou let me see their doings.

19 Sama ako sa malumo nga karnero nga gigiyahan padulong ngadto sa ihawanan. Wala ako masayod nga naglaraw sila batok kanako, “Daoton ta ang kahoy uban sa bunga niini! Wagtangon ta siya gikan sa yuta sa mga buhi aron nga dili na gayod mahinumdoman ang iyang ngalan.”

But I was like a sheep or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, [saying, ] “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may not be remembered any more.”

20 Apan si Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom mao ang matarong nga maghuhukom nga magsusi sa kasingkasing ug sa hunahuna. Mosaksi ako sa imong panimalos batok kanila, tungod kay gipadangat ko diha kanimo ang akong sumbong.

But, O Lord of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I entrusted my cause.

21 Busa gisulti kini ni Yahweh mahitungod sa mga tawo sa Anatot nga nagtinguha sa akong kinabuhi, “Miingon sila, 'Dili ka angay nga managna sa ngalan ni Yahweh, kondili mamatay ka pinaagi sa among mga kamot.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord concerning the men of 'Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, “Thou shalt not prophesy in the name of the Lord, that thou mayest not die by our hand:”

22 Busa misulti niini si Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom, 'Tan-awa, hapit ko na sila silotan. Mangamatay pinaagi sa espada ang ilang kusgan nga mga batan-ong kalalakin-an. Mangamatay pinaagi sa kagutom ang ilang mga anak nga lalaki ug babaye.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will inflict punishment on them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by the famine;

23 Walay mahibilin kanila, tungod kay magdala ako ug katalagman batok sa katawhan sa Anatot, tuig sa pagsilot kanila.”'

And no remnant shall remain of them; for I will bring evil upon the men of 'Anathoth, in the year of their punishment.
