Isaias 29

1 Pagkaalaot sa Ariel, ang Ariel, ang siyudad kung asa nagkampo si David! Dugangi ang mga katuigan; sauloga ang mga kasaulogan.

Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.

2 Apan palibotan ko ang Ariel, ug magminatay siya ug magbangotan; ug mahimo siya nga sama sa Ariel alang kanako.

Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be to me as Ariel.

3 Magkampo ako libot kaninyo ug ipahimutang ko ang toreng panggubatan batok kaninyo, ug magtukod ako ug mga hinagibang panggubatan batok kaninyo.

And I will encamp against thee all around, and will lay siege against thee with a mound, and I will raise forts against thee.

4 Magun-ob ka ug magsulti gikan sa yuta; mahagawhaw ang imong pakigpulong gikan sa abog. Mahisama sa kalag nga gikan sa yuta ang imong tingog, ug mahimong luya kaayo ang imong tingog gikan sa abog.

And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, like a medium, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

5 Ang panon sa inyong mga manunulong mahisama sa pino nga abog, ug ang panon sa mga mabangis ingon sa uhot nga mapadpad palayo. Mahitabo kini sa kalit lamang.

Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.

6 Moanha si Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom diha kaninyo uban ang dalugdog, linog, kasaba sa dahunog, uban ang naghaguros nga hangin ug mapintas nga bagyo, ug ang molamoy nga siga sa kalayo.

Thou shalt be visited by the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

7 Mahisama kini sa damgo, panan-awon sa kagabhion: Ang panon sa tanang kanasoran makig-away batok sa Ariel ug sa iyang salipdanan. Sulongon nila siya ug ang iyang mga malig-ong salipdanan aron sa pagdasok kaniya.

And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her strong hold, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.

8 Mahisama kini sa tawong gigutom nga nagdamgo nga nagkaon siya, apan sa dihang nakamata na siya, haw-ang ang iyang tiyan. Mahisama kini sa tawong giuhaw nga nagdamgo nga aduna siyay giinom, apan sa dihang nakamata na siya, naghangos siya, uban sa iyang kauhaw nga wala matagbaw. Oo, maingon sa hilabihan ka daghan nga mga nasod ang makig-away batok sa Bukid sa Zion.

It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

9 Katingala sa inyong kaugalingon ug katingala; butahi ang inyong kaugalingon ug pagpakabuta! Pagpakahubog, apan dili pinaagi sa bino; pagsusapinday, apan dili pinaagi sa ilimnon.

Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

10 Kay gibubo ni Yahweh diha kaninyo ang espiritu sa pagkahinanok. Gipiyong niya ang mga mata sa mga propeta, ug gitabonan ang mga ulo sa mga manalagna.

For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

11 Ang tanan nga gipadayag diha kaninyo nahimong ingon sa mga pulong sa basahon nga nasilyohan, nga mahimong ihatag sa tawo ngadto sa usa ka maalamon, ug moingon, “Basaha kini.” Moingon usab siya, “Dili ako makahimo, kay nasilyohan man kini.”

And the vision of all is become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

12 Kung ihatag ang basahon ngadto sa usa nga dili makabasa, ug moingon, “Basaha kini,” moingon siya, “Dili ako makabasa.”

And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13 Miingon ang Ginoo, “Mianhi kining mga tawhana kanako uban sa ilang mga baba ug nagpasidungog kanako pinaagi sa ilang mga ngabil, apan halayo ang ilang kasingkasing kanako. Ang ilang pagpasidungog kanako ingon lamang sa kasugoan nga gitudlo sa katawhan.

Therefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

14 Busa, tan-awa, magpadayon ako sa pagbuhat ug mga kahibulongang butang taliwala niining katawhan, katingalahan human sa katingalahan. Mahanaw ang kaalam sa ilang maalamong mga tawo, ug mangawala ang panabot sa ilang mabinantayon nga mga tawo.”

Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

15 Pagkaalaot niadtong gitago pag-ayo ang ilang mga laraw gikan kang Yahweh, ug kansang mga binuhatan anaa sa kangingit. Moingon sila, “Kinsa man ang makakita kanato, ug kinsa man ang makaila kanato?”

Woe to them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

16 Giusab ninyo ang tanang mga butang! Mahimo bang sama sa lapok ang magkukolon, aron nga ang butang nga iyang gihimo magsulti mahitungod kaniya nga maoy nagbuhat niini, “Wala niya ako buhata,” o magsulti ang gihulma nga butang mahitungod kaniya nga maoy naghulma niini, “Wala siya makasabot?”

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing formed say of him that formed it, He had no understanding?

17 Sa diyutay nga panahon, mahimong uma ang Lebanon, ug ang uma mahimong lasang.

Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

18 Nianang adlawa makadungog ang bungol sa mga pulong sa basahon, ug makakita ang mga mata sa buta diha sa kadulom sa kangitngit.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

19 Magmaya pag-usab ang mga dinaugdaog diha kang Yahweh, ug magmaya ang kabos taliwala sa katawhan diha sa Balaang Dios sa Israel.

The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

20 Kay mawagtang ang mga mabangis, ug mangahanaw ang mga mabiaybiayon. Pagawad-on ang tanan nga nahigugma sa pagbuhat ug daotan,

For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the mocker is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

21 kansang pinaagi sa pulong naghimo sa usa ka tawo nga maoy sad-an. Nagpahimutang sila ug lit-ag diha sa ganghaan alang kaniya nga nagpangita sa hustisya ug nagpasangil sa matarong pinaagi sa walay hinungdan nga mga bakak.

That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

22 Busa mao kini ang gisulti ni Yahweh mahitungod sa panimalay ni Jacob—Yahweh, nga maoy naglukat kang Abraham, “Dili na gayod maulawan si Jacob, ni mangluspad pa ang iyang dagway.

Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now become pale.

23 Apan sa dihang makita niya ang iyang mga anak, ang buhat sa akong mga kamot, balaanon nila ang akong ngalan. Balaanon nila ang ngalan sa Balaang Dios ni Jacob ug magatindog sila diha sa pagtahod sa Dios sa Israel.

But when he seeth his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

24 Kadtong nasayop diha sa espiritu makabaton ug pagsabot, ug ang mga nagbagulbol makakat-on sa kahibalo.”

They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
