Isaias 17
1 Ang pahayag mahitungod sa Damascus.
The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
2 Biyaan na ang mga siyudad sa Aroer. Mahimo kining mga dapit diin mohigda ang mga panon sa karnero, ug walay bisan usa nga makapalisang kanila.
The cities of Aroer are forsaken; they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
3 Mahanaw ang lig-ong mga siyudad gikan sa Efraim, ang gingharian gikan sa Damascus, ug ang nahibilin sa Aram—mahisama sila sa himaya sa katawhan sa Israel—mao kini ang pahayag ni Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom.
The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Aram shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the LORD of hosts.
4 Moabot kini sa adlaw nga mokunhod ang himaya ni Jacob, ug moniwang ang katambok sa iyang unod.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the glory of Jacob shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean.
5 Mahisama kini sa dihang tapokon sa mag-aani ang nagbarog nga trigo, ug anihon niya ang mga uhay sa trigo. Mahisama kini sa dihang adunay manghagdaw ug uhay sa mga trigo diha sa Walog sa Refaim.
And it shall be as when the harvestman gathereth the standing corn, and reapeth the ears with his arm; yea, it shall be as when one gleaneth ears in the valley of Rephaim.
6 Mahibilin ang mga hagdaw, bisan pa niana, sama sa dihang uyogon ang kahoy nga olibo: duha o tulo nga olibo ang anaa sa pinakaibabaw nga sanga, upat o lima ang anaa sa kinatas-an nga mga sanga sa mabungahon nga kahoy—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh, ang Dios sa Israel.
Yet there shall be left therein gleanings, as at the beating of an olive-tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the branches of the fruitful tree, saith the LORD, the God of Israel.
7 Nianang adlawa motan-aw ang kalalakin-an sa ilang Magbubuhat, ug motutok ang ilang mga mata ngadto sa Usa nga Balaan sa Israel.
In that day shall a man regard his Maker, and his eyes shall look to the Holy One of Israel.
8 Dili na sila motan-aw ngadto sa mga halaran, ang buhat sa ilang mga kamot, ni motan-aw kung unsay nahimo sa ilang mga kulamoy, ang mga poste nga Asera o ang mga hulagway sa adlaw.
And he shall not regard the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall he look to that which his fingers have made, either the Asherim, or the sun-images.
9 Nianang adlawa ang ilang lig-on nga mga siyudad mahisama sa biniyaang bakilid nga kakahoyan ngadto sa ibabaw sa kabungtoran, nga gisalikway tungod sa katawhan sa Israel ug mahimo kana nga biniyaan.
In that day shall his strong cities be as the forsaken places, which were forsaken from before the children of Israel, after the manner of woods and lofty forests; and it shall be a desolation.
10 Kay gikalimtan nimo ang Dios sa imong kaluwasan, ug wala gitagad ang bato nga imong kusog. Busa nagtanom ka ug matahom nga mga tanom, ug gipagawas ang mga sanga sa paras nga nadawat gikan sa langyaw,
For thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and thou hast not been mindful of the Rock of thy stronghold; therefore thou didst plant plants of pleasantness, and didst set it with slips of a stranger;
11 sa adlaw nga magtanom ka, ug magkoral, ug mag-atiman sa yuta. Sa dili madugay motubo ang imong binhi, apan mapakyas ang ani sa adlaw sa kasakitan ug sa hilabihan nga kasub-anan.
In the day of thy planting thou didst make it to grow, and in the morning thou didst make thy seed to blossom — a heap of boughs in the day of grief and of desperate pain.
12 Pagkaalaot! Ang panagsinggit sa daghang katawhan, nga nagdahunog sama sa dahunog sa kadagatan, ug ang pagdagan sa mga nasod, mihaguros sama sa hinaguros sa dagkong katubigan!
Ah, the uproar of many peoples, that roar like the roaring of the seas; and the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!
13 Modahunog ang mga nasod sama sa naghaguros nga mga tubig, apan hinginlan sila sa Dios. Mokalagiw sila palayo ug gukuron sama sa laya nga mga sagbot ngadto sa kabukiran atubangan sa hangin, ug sama sa nagtuyoktuyok nga sagbot atubangan sa bagyo.
The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters; but He shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm.
14 Sa pagkagabii, tan-awa, makalilisang! Mangahanaw sila sa dili pa ang kabuntagon! Mao kini ang bahin niadtong nanulis kanato, ang luna niadtong nangawat kanato.
At eventide behold terror; and before the morning they are not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.
