Hebreohanon 11
1 Karon ang pagtuo mao ang kasigurohan sa usa ka tawo sa dihang masaligon siya nga magdahom sa usa ka butang. Usa kini ka kasigurohan mahitungod kung unsa ang wala pa nakita.
Now faith is the assurance of [things] hoped for, the proving of things not seen.
2 Kay pinaagi niini ang atong mga katigulangan giuyonan sa ilang pagtuo.
For therein the elders had witness borne to them.
3 Pinaagi sa pagtuo atong nasabtan nga ang kalibotan nahimo pinaagi sa pagmando sa Dios, aron nga kung unsa ang makita wala nahimo gikan sa mga butang nga makita. (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which do appear. (aiōn g165)
4 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Abel naghalad sa Dios sa mas angay nga halad kaysa gibuhat ni Cain. Tungod niini nga siya gidayeg ingon nga matarong. Gidayeg siya sa Dios tungod sa mga gasa nga iyang gidala. Tungod niana, si Abel nagpadayon sa pagsulti, bisan tuod siya patay na.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 Pinaagi sa pagtuo nga si Enoc gibayaw ug wala na makakita sa kamatayon. “Wala siya makaplagi, tungod kay ang Dios nagkuha kaniya.” Kay kini giingon mahitungod kaniya nga siya nakapahimuot sa Dios sa wala pa siya gibayaw.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he hath had witness borne to him that he had been well-pleasing unto God:
6 Kung walay pagtuo dili mahimo ang pagpahimuot sa Dios, kay ang sa usa nga moduol sa Dios kinahanglang motuo nga siya anaa gayod ug iyang gantihan kadtong nangita kaniya.
And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
7 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Noah, sa dihang gipahimangnoan sa Dios mahitungod sa mga butang nga wala pa nakita, uban sa diosnong pagtahod nagbuhat ug usa ka arka aron sa pagluwas sa iyang pamilya. Pinaagi sa pagbuhat niini, iyang gihukman ang kalibotan ug nahimong manununod sa pagkamatarong nga miabot pinaagi sa pagtuo.
By faith Noah, being warned [of God] concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
8 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Abraham, sa dihang siya gitawag, mituman ug miadto sa dapit nga iyang madawat isip panulondon. Milakaw siya, nga wala masayod kung asa siya padulong.
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 Pinaagi sa pagtuo nga siya mipuyo sa yuta nga gisaad ingon nga usa ka langyaw. Mipuyo siya sa tolda uban kang Isaac ug Jacob, ang kauban nga manununod sa samang saad.
By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a [land] not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 Kini tungod kay siya nagtan-aw sa unahan sa pagtukod sa usa ka siyudad nga ang arketekto ug tighimo mao ang Dios.
for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Abraham, ug si Sarah sa iyang kaugalingon, nakadawat sa gahom sa pagmabdos bisan tuod nga tigulang na kaayo sila, tungod kay ilang giila ang Dios ingon nga matinumanon, ang usa nga nagsaad kanila ug anak nga lalaki.
By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised:
12 Busa gikan usab niining usa ka tawo nga haduol na sa kamatayon nahimugso ang dili maihap nga mga kaliwatan. Nahimo silang sama kadaghan sa kabituonan sa kalangitan ug ang dili maihap nga mga lugas sa balas sa baybayon.
wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea shore, innumerable.
13 Kining tanan nangamatay sa pagtuo nga wala makadawat sa mga saad. Hinuon, sa pagkakita ug pag-abiabi kanila gikan sa layo, ilang giangkon nga sila mga dumuduong ug mga langyaw sa kalibotan.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 Kay kadtong namulong niining mga butanga nagapatin-aw nga sila nangita ug usa ka yutang natawhan alang sa ilang kaugalingon.
For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own.
15 Sa pagkatinuod, kung sila naghunahuna sa nasod nga ilang gibiyaan, sila aduna untay higayon sa pagbalik.
And if indeed they had been mindful of that [country] from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16 Apan sama niini, sila nagtinguha sa usa ka mas maayong nasod, mao nga, usa ka langitnon. Busa ang Dios wala maulaw nga pagatawagon nga ilang Dios, sanglit siya nag-andam man ug usa ka siyudad alang kanila.
But now they desire a better [country], that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Abraham, human siya gisulayan, gihalad si Isaac. Oo, siya nga malipayong midawat sa mga saad naghalad sa iyang bugtong anak nga lalaki,
By faith Abraham, being tried, offered up Isaac: yea, he that had gladly received the promises was offering up his only begotten [son];
18 mahitungod kaniya nga kini ginaingon, “Gikan kang Isaac ang imong mga kaliwatan pagatawagon”
[even he] to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Si Abraham naghunahuna nga makahimo ang Dios sa pagbanhaw kang Isaac gikan sa mga patay, ug sa mahulagwayong pagkasulti, iya gayod siyang naangkon pagbalik.
accounting that God [is] able to raise up, even from the dead; from whence he did also in a parable receive him back.
20 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga gipanalanginan ni Isaac si Jacob ug si Esau mahitungod sa mga butang nga umaabot.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even concerning things to come.
21 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Jacob, sa dihang hapit na siya mamatay, nagpanalangin sa tagsatagsa nga mga anak nga lalaki ni Jose. Nagsimba si Jacob, nga nanukod sa ibabaw sa iyang sungkod.
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, [leaning] upon the top of his staff.
22 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Jose, sa dihang ang iyang kataposan haduol na, nagsulti sa pagbiya sa mga anak sa Israel gikan sa Ehipto ug nagmando kanila sa pagdala sa iyang mga bukog uban kanila.
By faith Joseph, when his end was nigh, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Moises, sa dihang siya nahimugso, gitagoan sulod sa tulo ka bulan sa iyang ginikanan tungod kay nakita nila nga usa siya ka matahom nga bata, ug wala sila mahadlok sa mando sa hari.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a goodly child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
24 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Moises, sa dihang midako na siya, nagdumili nga tawagon nga anak sa anak nga babaye ni Paraon.
By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 Hinuon, gipili niya nga makig-ambit sa kasakit uban ang katawhan sa Dios, kaysa magmalipayon sa sala sa hamubo nga higayon.
choosing rather to be evil entreated with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Iyang giila ang kaulawan sa pagsunod kang Cristo ingon nga dakong kadato kaysa mga bahandi sa Ehipto, tungod kay nagtutok siya sa iyang umaabot nga ganti.
accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.
27 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga si Moises mibiya sa Ehipto. Wala siya mahadlok sa kasuko sa hari, tungod kay siya nakaantos pinaagi sa pagtan-aw ngadto sa usa nga dili makita.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Pinaagi sa pagtuo iyang gituman ang pagsaulog sa Pagsaylo ug ang pagwisikwisik sa dugo, aron nga ang manlalaglag sa panganay dili makahikap sa panganay nga anak nga lalaki sa mga Israelita.
By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.
29 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga sila nakalabang sa Kasagbotan nga dagat ingon nga mamala nga yuta. Sa dihang ang mga Ehiptohanon misulay sa paghimo niini, nangalumos sila.
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were swallowed up.
30 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga ang paril sa Jericho nangapukan, human nila gilibotan sulod sa pito ka adlaw.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been compassed about for seven days.
31 Pinaagi kadto sa pagtuo nga ang babaye nga si Rahab nga nagbaligya ug dungog wala malaglag uban niadtong mga masinupakon, tungod kay siya midawat sa mga espiya sa luwas.
By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with them that were disobedient, having received the spies with peace.
32 Ug unsa paman ang akong ikasulti? Kay ang panahon kulang kanako kung mosugilon ako kang Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephtah, David, Samuel, ug sa mga propeta,
And what shall I more say? for the time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah; of David and Samuel and the prophets:
33 nga pinaagi sa pagtuo mibuntog sa mga gingharian, nagbuhat sa makiangayon, ug nakadawat sa mga saad. Ilang napugngan ang baba sa mga liyon,
who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 nagpalong sa gahom sa kalayo, nakalikay sa sulab sa espada, nangaayo gikan sa mga balatian, nahimong kusgan sa gubat, ug hinungdan nga ang mga langyaw nga mga sundalo nanagan.
quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, waxed mighty in war, turned to flight armies of aliens.
35 Ang kababayen-an nagdawat sa ilang mga patay pinaagi sa pagkabanhaw. Ang uban gisakit, nga wala midawat sa ilang kagawasan aron nga makasinati sila sa mas maayo nga pagkabanhaw.
Women received their dead by a resurrection: and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 Ang uban nag-antos sa pagbiaybiay ug mga pagbunal, oo, bisan ang mga gapos ug pagkabilanggo.
and others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 Gibato sila. Gigabas pagtunga. Gipang-ihaw pinaagi sa espada. Nanglakaw sila pinaagi sa panit sa karnero ug sa panit sa kanding nga masulob-on, gisakit, ug gipasipalaan
they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, evil entreated
38 (diin ang kalibotan dili takos) nasalaag sa kamingawan, sa kabukiran, sa mga langob, ug sa mga bangag sa yuta.
(of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.
39 Bisan tuod ang tanang katawhan giuyonan sa Dios tungod sa ilang pagtuo, wala sila makadawat sa iyang gisaad.
And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith, received not the promise,
40 Ang Dios nagsangkap nang daan sa usa ka butang nga labing maayo alang kanato, aron nga kung wala kita dili sila mahimong hingpit.
God having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
