Ezequiel 36

1 “Karon ikaw, anak sa tawo, panagna ngadto sa kabukiran sa Israel ug ingna, “Kabukiran sa Israel, paminawa ang pulong ni Yahweh.

You human, prophesy about the mountains in Israel. Say to them, “You mountains in Israel, listen to what Yahweh says.

2 Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Miingon ang kaaway mahitungod kaninyo, “Aha!” ug “Gipanag-iyahan na namo ang karaang tag-as nga mga dapit.'”

This is what Yahweh the Lord says: Your enemies [happily] said about you, ‘Aha! The mountains in Israel that have existed for a long time have become ours!’”

3 Busa panagna ug pag-ingon, 'Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Tungod sa inyong pagkaawaaw ug tungod sa mga pagsulong nga nahitabo kaninyo gikan sa palibot, gipanag-iyahan na kamo sa ubang mga nasod; kamo na ang gibutangbutangan sa mga mabutangbutangon nga mga ngabil ug mga dila, ug ang gihisgotan sa katawhan.

Therefore prophesy about those mountains and say, “This is what Yahweh the Lord declares: [Armies of other nations] attacked you [DOU] from every direction, with the result that your land became abandoned, and people of other nations occupied you, and they spoke maliciously about you and slandered you.

4 Busa, kabukiran sa Israel, paminawa ang pulong ni Yahweh nga Ginoo: Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini ngadto sa kabukiran ug sa tag-as nga kabungtoran, ngadto sa mga sapa ug sa mga walog, ngadto sa wala nay mipuyo nga mga awaaw ug sa gipangbiyaan nga mga siyudad nga nahimong inilog ug maoy gibiaybiay sa ubang mga nasod nga nagpalibot niini—

Therefore, you mountains in Israel, listen to this message from me. I, Yahweh the Lord, have something to say to the hills and mountains, to the ravines and valleys, to the deserted ruins and towns whose valuable possessions have been taken and their people ridiculed by the people of other nations around them. This is what I, Yahweh the Lord, declare: I am very angry [DOU] with the people of Edom and other nations; they have forced you [Israeli people] to endure them insulting you.

5 busa miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Nagsulti gayod ako diha sa kalayo sa akong hilabihang kasuko batok sa ubang mga nasod, batok sa Edom ug sa tanang nagkuha sa akong yuta ingon nga ilang gipanag-iyahan, batok niadtong tanan nga adunay kalipay sa ilang kasingkasing ug adunay pagtamay diha sa ilang espiritu, samtang gisakop nila ang akong yuta aron maangkon nila ang mga sibsibanan niini alang kanila.'

6 Busa, panagna ngadto sa yuta sa Israel ug pag-ingon ngadto sa kabukiran ug ngadto sa habog nga kabungtoran, ngadto sa mga sapa ug sa mga walog, 'miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Tan-awa! Gipahayag ko kini diha sa akong hilabihang kasuko ug sa akong kalagot tungod kay gidala ninyo ang mga pagtamay sa kanasoran.

7 Busa, miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Ipataas nako ang akong kamot sa pagpanumpa nga maulawan gayod ang kanasoran nga nagpalibot kaninyo.

Therefore, this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: Lifting up my arm, I solemnly declare that the people of the nations that are around you will also endure being insulted.

8 Apan kamo, kabukiran sa Israel, manalingsing kamo ug mamunga alang sa akong katawhan sa Israel, sanglit mobalik man sila diha kaninyo sa dili madugay.

But [I say to] you mountains in Israel that huge crops of fruit will grow on your trees for my Israeli people, because they will soon return home [from Babylonia].

9 Tan-awa, alang ako kaninyo, ug gidapigan ko kamo; darohon ug tamnan kamo ug mga binhi.

I (am concerned about/will take care of) you, and I will bless you. I will [enable farmers to] plow the ground and plant seed there.

10 Busa pasanayon ko diha kaninyo ang mga tawo sa tibuok panimalay sa Israel, ang tanan niini. Puy-an na ang mga siyudad ug tukoron pag-usab ang mga nangaguba.

I will cause the number of people who live on you mountains and everywhere else in Israel to greatly increase. People will live in the towns and rebuild [houses where there are now only] ruins.

11 Kabukiran, pasanayon ko ang mga tawo ug mga mananap diha kaninyo aron modaghan sila ug magmabungahon. Unya papuy-an ko kamo sama kaniadto, ug pauswagon ko kamo labaw pa sa inyong kahimtang kaniadto, kay masayran ninyo nga ako si Yahweh.

I will cause the number of people and domestic animals to increase. People will have many children [IDM, DOU]. I will enable people to live there like they did previously, and I will enable them to prosper like they did before. Then you will know that it is I, Yahweh, [who have the power to do what I say that I will do].

12 Magdala ako ug mga tawo, ang akong katawhan sa Israel, aron molakaw diha kanimo. Panag-iyahan ka nila, ug ikaw ang mahimo nilang panulondon, ug dili na ikaw ang mahimong hinungdan sa pagkamatay sa ilang mga anak.

I will enable my Israeli people to walk through your mountains. They will own you; you will be their permanent possession. Never again will their children die.

13 Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Tungod kay nag-ingon sila kaninyo, “Gilamoy nimo ang katawhan, ug namatay ang mga anak sa imong nasod,”

This is also what I, Yahweh the Lord, say to you: People say that [only a small amount of food is produced on your mountains, and as a result the people of Israel] die from hunger.

14 busa dili na kamo molamoy pa ug mga tawo, ug dili na kamo ang mahimong hinungdan sa pagbangotan sa inyong nasod sa ilang kamatayon. Mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga Ginoo.

Therefore, I, Yahweh the Lord, declare that no longer will that happen.

15 Ni tugotan ko nga madungog pa ninyo ang mga pagtamay sa kanasoran; dili na ninyo pas-anon pa ang kaulaw sa katawhan o mahimong hinungdan sa pagkapukan sa inyong nasod—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga Ginoo.'”

No longer will the people of other nations ridicule you; no longer will they laugh at you; no longer will [the armies of] other nations conquer you. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have declared that it will happen.”

16 Unya miabot kanako ang pulong ni Yahweh, nga nag-ingon,

Yahweh gave me another message. He said,

17 “Anak sa tawo, sa dihang mipuyo ang panimalay sa Israel sa ilang yuta, gihugawan nila kini pinaagi sa ilang mga paagi ug sa ilang mga buhat. Ang ilang mga paagi sama sa hugaw sa pagregla sa babaye diha sa akong atubangan.

“You human, when the Israeli people were living in their own land, they (defiled it/caused it to become unacceptable to me) by the things that they did. I considered that their behavior was [disgusting], like [SIM] the rags/cloths that women use during their monthly menstrual periods.

18 Busa gibubo ko batok kanila ang akong hilabihang kasuko alang sa dugo nga ilang gibubo sa yuta ug alang sa ilang paghugaw niini pinaagi sa ilang mga diosdios.

So I severely punished [MTY] them, because they had murdered [MTY] many people and because they had defiled the land by [worshiping] idols there.

19 Gipatibulaag ko sila taliwala sa kanasoran; nabulagbulag sila ngadto sa kayutaan. Gihukman ko sila sumala sa ilang mga paagi ug sa ilang mga binuhatan.

I caused them to be scattered among many nations [DOU]. I punished [MTY] them like they deserved to be punished because of their very evil behavior [DOU].

20 Unya miadto sila sa kanasoran, ug bisan asa sila miadto, gipasipalahan nila ang akong balaan nga ngalan sa dihang moingon ang mga tawo ngadto kanila, 'Mao ba gayod kini ang katawhan ni Yahweh? Kay giabog man sila sa iyang yuta.'

And wherever they went among those nations, they caused my reputation [MTY] to be disgraced. What has happened is that the people in those countries said about the Israeli people, ‘They belong to Yahweh, but they were forced to leave the land that he [gave to them].’

21 Apan aduna akoy kalooy sa akong balaan nga ngalan nga gihugawan sa balay sa Israel taliwala sa kanasoran, sa dihang miadto sila didto.

But I was concerned about my reputation, which the people of Israel had disgraced among the nations to which they were forced to go.

22 Busa isulti kini sa balay sa Israel: 'Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Wala ko kini gibuhat alang sa inyong kaayohan, balay sa Israel, apan alang sa akong balaan nga ngalan, nga inyong gipasipalahan taliwala sa kanasoran bisan asa kamo moadto.

Therefore, say to the Israeli people, ‘This is what Yahweh the Lord says: You Israeli people, it is not for your sake that I am going to do these things. Instead, it is for the sake of my sacred reputation, which you have disgraced among the nations to which you were forced to go.

23 Kay himoon nako nga balaan ang akong bantogang ngalan, nga inyong gipasipalahan taliwala sa kanasoran—gipasipalahan ninyo kini, taliwala sa kanasoran. Ug masayran sa kanasoran nga ako si Yahweh—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga Ginoo—sa dihang makita ninyo nga balaan ako.

I will show that my reputation is sacred, a reputation which you have disgraced among the nations to which you were forced to go. And when I show the nations that I am holy, the people of those nations will know that I, Yahweh, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].

24 Kuhaon ko kamo gikan sa kanasoran ug tigomon kamo gikan sa matag yuta, ug dad-on ko kamo sa inyong yuta.

What I will do is to bring you back from those nations. I will gather you from all the countries [to which you were forced to go], and bring you back to your own land.

25 Unya wisikwisikan ko kamo ug hinlo nga tubig aron maputli kamo gikan sa tanan ninyong pagkadaotan, ug himoon ko kamong putli gikan sa tanan ninyong mga diosdios.

[It will be as though] [MET] I will sprinkle clean water on you, and then you will be clean. I will cause you to be cleansed from everything that has defiled you, and I will cause you to stop worshiping idols.

26 Hatagan ko kamo ug bag-ong kasingkasing ug bag-ong espiritu diha sa inyong kinasulorang bahin, ug kuhaon ko ang tig-a nga kasingkasing gikan sa inyong unod. Kay hatagan ko kamo ug humok nga kasingkasing.

I will give you a completely new way of thinking [IDM]. I will enable you to stop being stubborn [IDM], and I will enable you to obey me from your inner beings [IDM].

27 Ibutang ko ang akong Espiritu diha kaninyo ug tugotan kamo sa paglakaw diha sa akong mga balaod ug sa pagtipig sa akong mga sugo, busa buhaton ninyo kini.

I will put my Spirit within you and enable you to carefully obey all my laws [DOU].

28 Unya mopuyo kamo sa yuta nga akong gihatag sa inyong mga katigulangan; kamo ang mahimo nakong katawhan, ug ako ang mahimo ninyong Dios.

You will again live in the land that I gave to your ancestors. You will be my people, and I will be your God.

29 Kay luwason ko kamo sa inyong pagkahugaw. Ipatawag ko ang trigo ug padaghanon kini. Dili na ako magpahamtang ug kagutom diha kaninyo.

I will free you from all your disgraceful behavior. I will cause your grain to be plentiful, and I will not send a famine to you again.

30 Padaghanon ko ang bunga sa kahoy ug ang abot sa uma aron dili na kamo maulawan sa kagutom taliwala sa mga nasod.

I will cause your fruit trees to produce plenty of fruit and your ground to produce plenty of good crops, with the result that you will no longer be ridiculed by the people of other nations because of your not having enough food.

31 Unya maghunahuna kamo sa daotan ninyong mga paagi ug sa inyong dili maayo nga mga binuhatan, ug adunay pagdumot diha sa inyong mga panagway tungod sa inyong kaugalingong mga sala ug sa inyong dulomtanang mga binuhatan.

When that happens, you will think about your previous evil behavior and wicked deeds, and you will (be very displeased with/hate) yourselves for your sins and the detestable things that you did.

32 Wala ko kini gibuhat alang sa inyong kaayohan—mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga Ginoo—tugoti nga mailhan kini diha kaninyo. Busa kataha ug kaulaw tungod sa inyong mga paagi, balay sa Israel.

But I, Yahweh the Lord, declare that I want you to know that it is not for your sake that I will do those things. You Israeli people ought to be ashamed of your behavior.

33 Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Nianang adlawa himoon ko kamong putli gikan sa inyong mga sala, tugotan ko kamo sa pagpuyo sa mga siyudad ug sa pagtukod ug balik sa nagun-ob nga mga dapit.

This is also what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: At the time that I forgive you for all the sins that you have committed, I will enable you to live in your towns again and to build houses where there are now only ruins.

34 Kay darohon ninyo ang biniyaan nga yuta hangtod nga dili na kini mahimong biniyaan sa panan-aw sa tanang moagi niini.

People who walk through your country will see that your land is again cultivated instead of (being desolate/having nothing growing in it).

35 Unya moingon sila, “Awaaw kini nga yuta, apan sama na kini sa tanaman sa Eden; lig-on na karon ug aduna nay nagpuyo sa mga awaaw nga mga siyudad ug sa mga dapit nga giguba ug gigun-ob.”

They will say, “This land that was ruined has become [very fertile/productive] like [SIM] the garden of Eden! The cities that were piles of ruins, empty and destroyed, now have walls around them, and people live in those cities.”

36 Unya masayod ang ubang kanasoran palibot kaninyo nga ako si Yahweh, nga gitukod ko pag-usab ang mga nangagun-ob ug nagtanom pag-usab ngadto sa mga dapit nga gibiyaan. Ako si Yahweh. Gipahayag ko kini ug buhaton ko kini.

When that happens, the people in the nations that are around you that still exist will know that it is I, Yahweh, who have enabled you to rebuild what was destroyed, and to again plant crops in the fields that had nothing growing in them. I, Yahweh, have said [that it will happen], and I will cause it to happen.

37 Miingon si Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Hangyoon ako pag-usab sa balay sa Israel sa pagbuhat niini alang kanila, sa pagpadaghan kanila sama sa panon sa katawhan.

This is also what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: Again I will heed what you Israeli people are pleading for me to do for you. I will cause your people to be as numerous as your sheep,

38 Sama sa panon nga gigahin alang sa mga halad, sama sa panon diha sa Jerusalem sa iyang gitakda nga mga kasaulogan, malukop usab sa panon sa katawhan ang mga nangagun-ob nga mga siyudad ug masayran nila nga ako si Yahweh.'”

as numerous as the flocks of sheep that will be needed for offerings in Jerusalem during your regular festivals. The cities that are now ruined will be filled with people, and then you will know that I, Yahweh the Lord, [have the power to do what I say that I will do].’”
