Ezequiel 31

1 Nahitabo kini sa ikanapulo ug usa ka tuig, sa ikatulo nga bulan, sa unang adlaw sa bulan, nga miabot kanako ang pulong ni Yahweh, nga nag-ingon,

And it happened that, in the eleventh year, in the third month, on the first of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

2 “Anak sa tawo, isulti ngadto sa Paraon, ang hari sa Ehipto, ug sa iyang katawhan nga nakapalibot kaniya, 'Sa imong kabantog, kang kinsa ka man nahisama?

“Son of man, speak to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and to his people: To whom can you be compared in your greatness?

3 Tan-awa! Ang Asiria mao ang sedro sa Lebanon nga may maanyag nga mga sanga, nga naghatag ug landong sa kalasangan, ug ang kinatas-an, ug ang mga sanga niini mao ang nagporma sa tumoy sa kahoy.

Behold, Assur is like the cedar of Lebanon, with fair branches, and full of leaves, and of high stature, and his summit has been elevated above the thick branches.

4 Daghang tubig ang nakapahimo niini nga taas; gipadako kini sa lalom nga katubigan. Nagdagayday ang mga suba sa tanang bahin niini, tungod kay ang ilang mga tuboran miabot ngadto sa tanang kahoy sa kaumahan.

The waters have nourished him. The abyss has exalted him. Its rivers have flowed around his roots, and it has sent forth its streams to all the trees of the regions.

5 Ang hilabihan nga kataas niini mas labaw pa sa bisan unsang ubang kahoy nga anaa sa uma, ug midaghan pag-ayo ang mga sanga niini; nanag-as ang mga sanga niini tungod sa mga tubig samtang nagtubo kini.

Because of this, his height was exalted above all the trees of the regions, and his groves were multiplied, and his own branches were elevated, because of the many waters.

6 Ang matag langgam sa kalangitan nagsalag sa mga sanga niini, samtang nanganak ang mga buhing binuhat sa uma ubos sa mga kadahonan niini. Nagpuyo ubos sa landong niini ang daghang kanasoran.

And when he had extended his shadow, all the birds of the air made their nests in his branches, and all the beasts of the forest conceived their young under his foliage, and an assembly of the many peoples lived under his shadow.

7 Tungod kay matahom kaayo ang iyang kabantog ug ang kataas sa mga sanga niini, tungod kay nahimutang ang gamot niini sa daghang katubigan.

And he was most beautiful in his greatness and in the expansion of his groves. For his root was near many waters.

8 Ang mga sedro nga anaa sa tanaman sa Dios. Walay kahoy nga mga sepros nga makatandi sa mga sanga niini, ug dili makatupong ang bisan unsa nga kahoy sa mga sanga niini. Walay laing kahoy didto sa tanaman sa Dios nga sama kaanyag niini.

The cedars in the Paradise of God were not higher than he was. The spruce trees were not equal to his summit, and the plane trees were not equal to his fullness. No tree in the Paradise of God was similar to him or to his beauty.

9 Gihimo ko kining matahom nga may daghang mga sanga ug nasina ang tanang mga kahoy sa Eden nga anaa sa tanaman sa Dios.

For I made him beautiful, and dense with many branches. And all the trees of delight, which were in the Paradise of God, were jealous of him.

10 Busa miingon ang Yahweh nga Ginoo niini: Tungod kay taas kini, ug gipahimutang niini ang ibabaw sa kahoy taliwala sa iyang mga sanga, gipataas niini ang kasingkasing niini tungod sa iyang kataas.

Because of this, thus says the Lord God: Since he was sublime in height, and he made his summit green and dense, and his heart was exalted because of his height,

11 Gihatag ko na kini didto sa kamot sa usa ka gamhanan sa kanasoran, aron buhaton kung unsa ang angay sa pagkadaotan niini. Gilabay ko na kini.

I have delivered him into the hands of the most powerful one among the Gentiles, so that he will deal with him. I have cast him out, in accord with his impiety.

12 Gipamutol kini sa mga langyaw nga gikahadlokan sa tanang kanasoran ug gibiyaan aron mamatay. Nangahulog ang mga sanga niini ngadto sa kabukiran ug sa tanang mga walog, ug nagkatag ang mga bali nga sanga niini sa tanan nga suba sa yuta. Unya mobiya ang tanang kanasoran sa kalibotan nga mipasilong sa landong niini ug mipalayo sila gikan niini.

And foreigners, and the most cruel among the nations, will cut him down. And they will cast him on the mountains. And his branches will fall in every steep valley, and his grove will be broken apart on every cliff of the earth. And all the peoples of the earth will withdraw from his shadow, and abandon him.

13 Mipahulay ang tanang kalanggaman sa kawanangan diha sa mga punoan sa kahoy nga natumba, ug nangadto sa mga sanga niini ang matag mananap sa kaumahan.

All the birds of the air lived upon his ruins, and all the beasts of the countryside were among his branches.

14 Nahitabo kini aron wala nay laing kahoy nga motubo pinaagi sa tubig ang mopataas sa ilang mga kadahonan nga sama katag-as sa kinatas-ang mga kahoy, ug nga wala nay laing kahoy nga motubo daplin sa katubigan ang makaabot sa maong katag-ason. Ang tanan kanila gitagana sa kamatayon, ngadto sa ilalom sa yuta, uban sa mga anak sa katawhan, uban niadtong miadto ilalom sa bung-aw.

For this reason, none of the trees among the waters will exalt themselves because of their height, nor will they place their summits above the thick branches and foliage, nor will any of those that are irrigated stand out because of their height. For they have all been delivered unto death, to the lowest part of the earth, into the midst of the sons of men, those who descend into the pit.

15 Miingon niini si Yahweh nga Ginoo: Sa adlaw nga miadto ang sedro sa Sheol nagdala ako ug kasub-anan ngadto sa kalibotan. Gitabonan ko ang lalom nga katubigan nga anaa niini, ug gipahubas ko ang kadagatan. Gipahubas ko ang dakong katubigan, ug nagdala ako ug pagbangotan ngadto sa Lebanon alang kaniya. Busa nagsubo ang tanang mga kahoy diha sa kaumahan tungod niini. (Sheol h7585)

Thus says the Lord God: In the day when he descended into hell, I led in grieving. I covered him with the abyss. And I held back its rivers, and I restrained the many waters. Lebanon was saddened over him, and all the trees of the field were struck together. (Sheol h7585)

16 Nagdala ako ug pagpangurog ngadto sa kanasoran diha sa tingog sa pagkapukan niini, sa dihang gilabay ko kini ngadto sa Sheol uban niadtong mikanaog didto sa bangag. Busa gihupay ko ang tanang mga kahoy sa Eden didto sa pinakaubos nga bahin sa kalibotan. Mao kini ang pinili ug labing maayo nga mga kahoy sa Lebanon; ang mga kahoy nga misuyop sa katubigan. I shook the Gentiles with the sound of his ruin, when I led him down to hell, with those who were descending into the pit. And all the trees of delights, the finest and best in Lebanon, all that were irrigated with waters, were consoled in the deepest parts of the earth. (Sheol h7585)

17 Tungod kay miadto usab sila uban niini sa Sheol, ngadto sa gipatay pinaagi sa espada. Mao kini ang iyang kusgan nga bukton, kadtong mga nasod nga namuyo sa landong niini. (Sheol h7585)

For they, too, will descend with him into hell, to those who have been slain by the sword. And the arm of each one will reside under his shadow, in the midst of the nations. (Sheol h7585)

18 Kang kinsa man sa mga kahoy sa Eden ang makatupong sa imong himaya ug kabantog? Tungod kay pagatumbahon ka uban sa mga kahoy sa Eden ngadto sa kinahiladman nga mga bahin sa kalibotan uban niadtong mga dili tinuli; magpuyo ka uban niadtong gipamatay pinaagi sa espada.' Mao kini si Paraon ug ang tanan niyang katawhan— mao kini ang gipahayag ni Yahweh nga Ginoo.”

To whom can you be compared, O famous and sublime one, among the trees of pleasure? Behold, you have been brought down, with the trees of pleasure, to the lowest part of the earth. You will sleep in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who have been slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh, and all his multitude, says the Lord God.”
