Ester 10

1 Unya nagpahamtang si Haring Ahasuerus ug buhis sa yuta ug sa mga baybayon sa dagat.

And king Achashverosh imposed a tribute upon the land, and the isles of the sea.

2 Ang tanang nakab-ot sa iyang gahom ug pagkagamhanan, uban sa kinatibuk-ang kasayoran sa pagkabantogan ni Mordecai nga gituboy siya sa hari, nahisulat kini sa libro sa mga cronicas sa mga hari sa Media ug Persia.

And all the acts of his strength and of his might, and the exposition of the greatness of Mordecai, wherewith the king made him great, behold they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia.

3 Si Mordecai nga Judio mao ang ikaduha sa katungdanan ni Haring Ahasuerus. Bantogan siya taliwala sa mga Judio ug inila sa iyang kaigsoonang mga Judio, kay nangita siya sa kauswagan sa iyang katawhan ug nakigsulti siya alang sa kalinaw sa tanan niyang katawhan.

For Mordecai the Jew was the second in rank after king Achashverosh, and great among the Jews, and acceptable to the multitude of his brethren, a promoter of good to his people, and speaking peace to all its seed.
