Deuteronomio 8
1 Kinahanglan nga tipigan mo ang tanang mga sugo nga akong ihatag kanimo karong adlawa, aron nga mabuhi ug managhan ka, ug molakaw ug panag-iyahon ang yuta nga gisaad ni Yahweh sa imong mga katigulangan.
All the commandments, that I command thee this day, take great care to observe: that you may live, and be multiplied, and going in may possess the land, for which the Lord swore to your fathers.
2 Hinumdomi ang tanang mga dalanon diin naggiya si Yahweh nga imong Dios sa 40 ka tuig didto sa kamingawan, aron matudloan ka niya sa pagpaubos, sulayan ka niya aron mahibaloan kung unsa ang anaa sa imong kasingkasing, kung imo bang gitipigan ang iyang kasugoan o wala.
And thou shalt remember all the way through which the Lord thy God hath brought thee for forty years through the desert, to afflict thee and to prove thee, and that the things that were in thy heart might be made known, whether thou wouldst keep his commandments or no.
3 Gipaubos ka, ug gipagutman ka, ug gipakaon ka niya ug manna, diin wala nimo nahibaloan ug wala usab nahibalo-i sa imong mga katigulangan. Gibuhat niya kana aron nga mahibaloan nimo nga dili lamang pinaagi sa tinapay mabuhi ang mga tawo; hinunoa, mabuhi ang tawo pinaagi sa tanan nga mogawas sa baba ni Yahweh.
He afflicted thee with want, and gave thee manna for thy food, which neither thou nor thy fathers knew: to shew that not in bread alone doth man live, but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
4 Ang imong mga bisti wala madunot ug mahukas gikan kanimo, ug ang imong mga tiil wala naghubag panahon niadtong 40 ka tuig.
Thy raiment, with which thou wast covered, hath not decayed for age, and thy foot is not worn, lo this is the fortieth year,
5 Magahunahuna ka niini sa imong kasingkasing, sa unsang paagi, nga ang usa ka amahan nagpanton sa iyang anak nga lalaki, sa sama usab nga paagi nga si Yahweh nga imong Dios magpanton kanimo.
That thou mayst consider in thy heart, that as a man traineth up his son, so the Lord thy God hath trained thee up.
6 Pagatipigan nimo ang kasugoan ni Yahweh nga imong Dios, aron nga makalakaw ka sa iyang mga dalan ug pasidunggan siya.
That thou shouldst keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways, and fear him.
7 Kay si Yahweh nga imong Dios magdala kanimo ngadto sa maayong yuta, ang yuta sa gamay nga kasapaan, sa mga busay ug sa mga tuboran, nagdagayday ngadto sa kawalogan ug kabukiran;
For the Lord thy God will bring thee into a good land, of brooks and of waters, and of fountains: in the plains of which and the hills deep rivers break out:
8 ang yuta sa trigo ug sibada, sa mga ubas, mga kahoy nga igera, ug mga granada; ang yuta sa kahoy nga olibo ug dugos.
A land of wheat, and barley, and vineyards, wherein fig trees and pomegranates, and oliveyards grow: a land of oil and honey.
9 Mao kini ang yuta diin magakaon ka ug tinapay nga walay makulang, ug dili ka magalakaw nga walay dala bisan unsa; usa ka yuta nga ang mga bato hinimo sa puthaw, ug gikan niadtong mga kabukiran makakalot ka ug tumbaga.
Where without any want thou shalt eat thy bread, and enjoy abundance of all things: where the stones are iron, and out of its hills are dug mines of brass:
10 Magakaon ka ug mabusog, ug pagadaygon mo si Yahweh nga imong Dios tungod sa maayong yuta nga iyang gihatag kanimo.
That when thou hast eaten, and art full, thou mayst bless the Lord thy God for the excellent land which he hath given thee.
11 Pag-amping nga dili mo malimtan si Yahweh nga imong Dios, ug dili mo ibaliwala ang iyang kasugoan, ang iyang mga ordinansa, ug ang iyang mga balaod nga akong gisugo kanimo karong adlawa.
Take heed, and beware lest at any time thou forget the Lord thy God, and neglect his commandments and judgments and ceremonies, which I command thee this day:
12 Pag-amping nga, sa dihang mokaon ug mabusog ka, ug sa dihang magtukod ka ug maayong mga balay ug magpuyo niini.
Lest after thou hast eaten and art filled, hast built goodly houses, and dwelt in them,
13 Ug pag-amping sa dihang managhan ang imong mga baka ug mga karnero, ug sa dihang managhan ang imong mga plata ug ang imong mga bulawan, ug ang tanan nga anaa kanimo managhan,
And shalt have herds of oxen and flocks of sheep, and plenty of gold and of silver, and of all things,
14 basin unya ang imong kasingkasing matuboy, ug malimtan mo si Yahweh nga imong Dios—nga nagpagawas kanimo gikan sa yuta sa Ehipto, paggawas sa panimalay nga nagbihag.
Thy heart be lifted up, and thou remember not the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage:
15 Ayaw siya kalimti nga naggiya kanimo agi sa dako ug makalilisang nga kamingawan, diin adunay malalang bitin ug mga tanga, ug agi sa giuhaw nga yuta diin walay tubig, nga nagpabugwak ug tubig agi sa buak nga bato alang kanimo,
And was thy leader in the great and terrible wilderness, wherein there was the serpent burning with his breath, and the scorpion and the dipsas, and no waters at all: who brought forth streams out of the hardest rock,
16 nga nagpakaon kanimo ug manna ngadto sa kamingawan nga wala mailhi sa imong mga katigulangan, aron nga matudloan ka niya sa pagpaubos, ug aron nga masulayan ka niya, ug magbuhat ug maayo alang kanimo sa kataposan—
And fed thee in the wilderness with manna which thy fathers knew not. And after he had afflicted and proved thee, at the last he had mercy on thee,
17 ug makaingon ka sa imong kasingkasing, 'Ang akong gahom ug ang kusog sa akong mga kamot nakabaton niining tanang katigayonan.'
Lest thou shouldst say in thy heart: My own might, and the strength of my own hand have achieved all these things for me.
18 Apan imong hinumdoman si Yahweh nga imong Dios, tungod kay siya ang naghatag kanimo ug gahom aron maangkon ang katigayonan; aron nga iyang matukod ang iyang kasabotan nga iyang gisaad sa imong mga katigulangan, sama sa iyang gibuhat karong adlawa.
But remember the Lord thy God, that he hath given thee strength, that he might fulfill his covenant, concerning which he swore to thy fathers, as this present day sheweth.
19 Mahitabo kini nga, kung kalimtan nimo si Yahweh nga imong Dios ug magasunod sa uban nga mga dios, ug magsimba kanila, ug magtahod kanila, magpamatuod ako batok kanimo karong adlawa nga mahanaw ka gayod.
But if thou forget the Lord thy God, and follow strange gods, and serve and adore them: behold now I foretell thee that thou shalt utterly perish.
20 Sama sa kanasoran nga laglagon ni Yahweh sa imong atubangan, busa mahanaw ka, tungod kay dili ka maminaw sa tingog ni Yahweh nga imong Dios.
As the nations, which the Lord destroyed at thy entrance, so shall you also perish, if you be disobedient to the voice of the Lord your God.
