Deuteronomio 5

1 Gitawag ni Moises ang tanang Israelita ug giingnan sila, “Paminaw, Israel, sa mga balaod ug sa mga kasugoan nga akong isulti kaninyo karong adlawa, aron inyo silang tun-an ug tipigan.

And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and that ye may observe to do them.

2 Si Yahweh nga atong Dios naghimo ug kasabotan kanato didto sa Horeb.

The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

3 Wala himoa ni Yahweh kini nga kasabotan uban sa atong mga katigulangan, apan uban kanato, kanatong tanan nga buhi karon.

Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, we who are here all of us alive this day.

4 Nakigsulti si Yahweh kaninyo nawong sa nawong didto sa bukid taliwala sa kalayo.

Face to face did the Lord speak with you on the mount, out of the midst of the fire,

5 (Nagtindog ako taliwala kaninyo ug kang Yahweh nianang panahona, sa pagpahayag sa iyang pulong diha kaninyo; kay nahadlok man kamo tungod sa kalayo, ug wala kamo mitungas sa bukid). Miingon si Yahweh,

(I was standing between the Lord and between you at that time, to announce to you the word of the Lord; for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and ye went not up into the mount; ) saying,

6 'Ako si Yahweh nga inyong Dios, nga nagdala kaninyo pagawas sa yuta sa Ehipto, gawas sa balay sa pagkaulipon.

I am the Lord thy God, who have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slavery.

7 Dili kamo magbaton ug laing mga dios sa akong atubangan.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

8 Dili kamo maghimo alang sa inyong kaugalingon ug kinulit nga hulagway o laing panagway sa bisan unsa ibabaw sa langit, ni ilawom sa kalibotan, ni sa ilalom sa tubig.

Thou shalt not make unto thyself any graven image, any likeness of any thing that is in the heavens above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

9 Dili kamo moyukbo kanila o moalagad kanila, kay Ako, si Yahweh nga inyong Dios, siluso nga Dios. Silotan ko ang mga katigulangan pinaagi sa pagdalag silot sa ilang mga kabataan, ngadto sa ikatulo ug ikaupat sa ilang kaliwatan niadtong nasuko kanako,

Thou shalt not bow thyself down unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate me,

10 ipakita ko ang matinud-anon nga kasabotan ngadto sa liboan, niadtong nahigugma kanako ug nagtuman sa akong mga sugo.

And showing kindness unto the thousandth generation of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

11 Dili ninyo pagagamiton ang ngalan ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios sa pagpasipala, kay alang kang Yahweh isipon niyang makasasala ang naggamit sa iyang pangalan sa pagpasipala.

Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

12 Hinumdomi ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay ug balaana kini, ingon sa gimando ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo.

Keep the sabbath-day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.

13 Sulod sa unom ka adlaw makabuhat kamo sa tanan ninyong buluhaton;

Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work;

14 apan ang ika pito nga adlaw mao ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay alang kang Yahweh nga inyong Dios. Niining adlawa dili kamo magbuhat sa bisan unsang buluhaton—dili gayod, ni ang inyong anak nga lalaki, ang inyong anak nga babaye, ni ang inyong sulugoon nga lalaki, ni ang inyong sulugoon nga babaye, ni ang inyong torong baka, ni ang inyong asno, ni bisan ang inyong mga baka, bisan kinsa nga langyaw nga anaa sa sulod sa inyong mga ganghaan. Buhaton kini aron ang inyong lalaki nga sulugoon ug ang inyong babaye nga sulugoon makapahulay ingon man kamo.

But the seventh day is the sabbath in honor of the Lord thy God; on it thou shalt not do any work, neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy ox, nor thy ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: in order that thy man-servant and thy maid-servant may rest as well as thou.

15 Hinumdomi nga nahimo kamong mga sulugoon sa yuta sa Ehipto, ug si Yahweh nga inyong Dios nagdala kaninyo pagawas gikan didto pinaagi sa kusgan niya nga kamot ug pinaagi sa iyang bukton. Busa si Yahweh nga iyong Dios nagmando kaninyo nga tumanon ang adlaw nga Igpapahulay.

And thou shalt remember that thou hast been a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore hath the Lord thy God commanded thee to observe the sabbath-day.

16 Tahora ninyo ang inyong amahan ug ang inyong inahan, ingon nga gimando ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios nga inyong pagabuhaton, aron mabuhi kamo sa taas nga higayon sa yuta nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios, aron nga maayo ang inyong dangatan.

Honor thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee: in order that thy days may be prolonged, and in order that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

17 Dili kamo mopatay.

Thou shalt not kill.

18 Dili kamo manapaw.

Neither shalt thou commit adultery.

19 Dili kamo mangawat.

Neither shalt thou steal.

20 Dili kamo magsaksi ug bakak batok sa inyong mga silingan.

Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbor.

21 Ayaw kaibog sa asawa sa imong silingan, ayaw kaibog sa balay sa imong silingan, sa iyang uma, ni sa iyang sulugoon nga lalaki, ni sa iyang sulugoon nga babaye, ni sa iyang torong baka, o sa iyang asno, o sa bisa unsa nga gipanag-iya sa imong silingan.'

Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbor's wife. Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbor's house, nor his field, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.

22 Kining mga pulonga gisulti ni Yahweh sa makusog nga tingog sa tanan ninyong mga panagtigom didto sa bukid taliwala sa kalayo, ug sa panganod, ug sa baga nga kangitngit; wala nay daghang mga pulong nga iyang gidugang. Ug gisulat niya kini sa duha ka mga papan nga bato ug gihatag kini kanako.

These words did the Lord speak unto all your assembly on the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice, but he did so no more; and he wrote them on two tables of stone, and he gave them unto me.

23 Nahitabo kini, sa dihang nadungog ninyo ang tingog taliwala sa kangitngit, samtang ang bukid nagdilaab, nga kamo niduol kanako—ang tanan ninyong mga pangulo ug ang mga kadagkoan sa inyong mga tribo.

And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mount was burning with fire, that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

24 Miingon kamo, 'Tan-awa, si Yahweh nga atong Dios nagpakita kanato sa iyang himaya ug sa iyang pagkagamhanan, ug atong nadungog ang iyang tingog taliwala sa kalayo; nakita nato karon nga sa dihang nakigsulti ang Dios sa katawhan, mabuhi sila.

And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath caused us to see his glory and his greatness, and his voice have we heard out of the midst of the fire: this day have we seen that God can speak with man, who nevertheless may live.

25 Apan nganong kinahanglan man kitang mamatay? Kay kining dakong kalayo molamoy kanato; kung atong nadungog ang tingog ni Yahweh nga atong Dios, kita mamatay.

But now why should we die? for this great fire may consume us; if we continue to hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then shall we die.

26 Kay kinsa ba gawas kanato ang anaa sa tanan nga unod nga nakadungog sa buhing Dios nga nagsulti taliwala sa kalayo, nga nagpabiling buhi, sama sa atong nabuhat?

For where is there any flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, like us, and hath remained alive?

27 Alang kanimo, kinahanglan nga moadto ka ug maminaw sa tanan nga isulti ni Yahweh nga atong Dios; ug soblia sa pagsulti kanamo ang tanan nga isulti ni Yahweh nga atong Dios kanimo; maminaw kami niini ug motuman.'

Do thou approach, and hear all that the Lord our God may say; and thou shalt speak unto us all that the Lord our God may speak unto thee; and we will hear and do it.

28 Nadungog ni Yahweh ang inyong mga pulong sa dihang nakigsulti kamo kanako. Miingon siya kanako, 'Akong nadungog ang mga pulong niining mga katawhan, kung unsa ang ilang gisulti kanimo. Kung unsa man ang ilang gisulti nga maayo.

And the Lord heard the voice of your words, while ye were speaking unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have done well in all that they have spoken.

29 O, nga aduna untay kasingkasing diha kanila, nga magadayeg sila kanako ug kanunay nga magtuman sa akong kasugoan, nga kini mahimong makaayo kanila ug sa ilang mga anak hangtod sa hangtod!

Who would grant that this their heart might remain in them, to fear me, and to keep all my commandments at all times; in order that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

30 Lakaw ingna sila, “Balik sa inyong mga tolda.”

Go, say to them, Return you unto your tents.

31 Apan alang kanimo, barog dinhi sa akong duol, ug sultihan ko ikaw sa tanang kasugoan, sa mga balaod, ug sa tanang mando nga imong itudlo kanila, aron ilang tumanon didto sa yuta nga akong ihatag kanila nga panag-iyahon.'

But as for thee, remain thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.

32 Busa tumana ninyo ang gisugo ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios; dili kamo motipas sa tuo o sa wala.

Observe ye then to do as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right or to the left.

33 Magalakaw kamo sa tanang mga dalan nga gimando ni Yahweh kaninyo nga inyong Dios, aron nga mabuhi kamo, ug makaayo kini kaninyo, ug mahimo pa nga motaas ang inyong mga adlaw didto sa yuta nga inyong panag-iyahon.

altogether in the way, which the Lord your God hath commanded you, shall ye walk; in order that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may remain many days in the land which ye will possess.
