Deuteronomio 2
1 Unya mibalik kami ug mipadulong ngadto sa kamingawan agi sa Pulang Dagat, sumala sa gisulti ni Yahweh kanako; naglibotlibot kita sa Bukid sa Seir sa daghang mga adlaw.
Then turned we, and set forward towards the desert by way of the Red Sea, as Yahweh, spake unto me; and we encompassed Mount Seir many days.
2 Nakigsulti si Yahweh kanako, nga nag-ingon,
And Yahweh spake unto me, saying:
3 'Dugay na kamong naglibotlibot niining bukira; lakaw paingon sa amihan.
Long enough, have ye encompassed this mountain, —turn yourselves north, wards.
4 Mandoi ang katawhan, sa pag-ingon, 'Molatas kamo agi sa utlanan sa inyong kaigsoonan, ang kaliwat ni Esau, nga nagpuyo sa Seir; mangahadlok sila kaninyo. Busa pagmatngon
And, the people, command thou saying, Ye are about to pass through the boundary of your brethren the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, —and should they be afraid of you, take ye good heed to yourselves:
5 nga dili makig-away kanila, kay dili ko ihatag kaninyo bisag asa sa ilang yuta, dili bisan ang igo lang katumban sa tiil; kay gihatag ko ang Bukid sa Seir ngadto kang Esau ingon nga gipanag-iya.
do not engage in strife with them, for I will not give you of their land, so much as place for the tread of a foot-sole, —for as a possession to Esau, have I given Mount Seir.
6 Mopalit kamo ug pagkaon gikan kanila bayad ang salapi, aron makakaon kamo; mopalit usab kamo ug tubig gikan kanila bayad ang salapi, aron makainom kamo.
Food, shall ye buy of them with silver so shall ye eat, —yea even water, shall ye buy of them with silver so shall ye drink.
7 Kay gipanalanginan kamo ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios sa tanang buhat sa inyong kamot; nasayod siya sa inyong paglatas niining dakong kamingawan. Kay sulod sa 40 ka tuig si Yahweh nga inyong Dios miuban kaninyo, ug walay nakulang kaninyo.”'
For Yahweh thy God, hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand, he hath considered thy traversing of this great desert, —these forty years, hath Yahweh thy God been with thee, thou hast lacked, nothing.
8 Busa milatas kita agi sa atong kaigsoonan, ang kaliwatan ni Esau, nga nagpuyo sa Seir, layo gikan sa Araba nga dalan, gikan sa Elat ug sa Ezion Geber. Mipadayon kita ug milatas agi sa kamingawan sa Moab.
So we passed on, a way from our brethren the sons of Esau who dwell in Seir, from the way of the waste plain, from Elath, and from Ezion-geber, —and we turned and passed on by way of the desert of Moab.
9 Miingon si Yahweh kanako, 'Ayaw samoka ang Moab, ug ayaw pakig-away kanila pinaagi sa gubat. Kay dili ko ihatag kaninyo ang iyang yuta aron inyong mapanag-iya, tungod kay gihatag ko ang Ar sa kaliwat ni Lot, aron ilang mapanag-iya.
And Yahweh said unto me—Do not lay siege to Moab, nor engage in strife with them in battle, —for I will not give unto thee of this land as a possession, for unto the sons of Lot, have I given Ar, as a possession.
10 (Ang Emim ang nagpuyo didto kaniadto, katawhan nga bantogan, daghan, ug tag-as sama sa Anakim;
the Emim, formerly dwelt therein, —a people great and many and tall, like the Anakim.
11 nailhan usab kini nga Refaim, sama sa Anakim; apan gitawag sila sa Moabihanon nga Emim.
Giants, used, they also, to be accounted like the Anakim, —but the Moabites, called them Emim.
12 Ang Horihanon ang nagpuyo usab kaniadto sa Seir, apan ang kaliwatan ni Esau nagpuli kanila. Gilaglag nila sila ug mipuyo sa ilang dapit, sama sa gibuhat sa Israel ngadto sa yuta nga iyang maangkon nga ihatag ni Yahweh kanila.)
And in Seir, dwelt the Horim aforetime, but, the sons of Esau, dispossessed them, and destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead, —as did Israel unto the land of his own possession, which Yahweh had given unto them.
13 “'Karon barog ug latas sa suba sa Zered.' Busa milatas kita sa suba sa Zereb.
Now, arise, and pass ye over the ravine of Zered. So we passed over the ravine of Zered.
14 Karon gikan sa adlaw sa atong pag-abot gikan sa Kadesh Barnea hangtod sa atong pagtabok sa suba sa Zered, 38 na ka tuig. Nianang higayona ang tanang kaliwatan sa kalalakin-an nga hanas sa pakig-away nangamatay na, sama sa gisaad ni Yahweh kanila.
Now, the days in which we journeyed from Kadesh-barnea, as far as where we crossed the ravine of Zered, were thirty-eight years, —until all the generation of the men of war were consumed out of the midst of the camp, as Yahweh had sworn unto them.
15 Dugang pa, ang kamot ni Yahweh mibatok niadtong kaliwatan aron laglagon sila gikan sa katawhan hangtod nangamatay sila.
Yea, even the hand of Yahweh was against them, to destroy them out of the midst of the camp, —until they were consumed.
16 Busa nahitabo kini, sa dihang ang tanang tawo nga hanas na alang sa gubat nangamatay ug nangahanaw diha sa katawhan,
So it came to pass when all the men of war were consumed by dying, out of the midst of the people,
17 nga misulti si Yahweh kanako, nga nag-ingon,
then spake Yahweh unto me, saying:
18 'Karon molatas kamo sa Ar, ang utlanan sa Moab.
Thou, art passing, to-day, the boundary of Moab even Ar;
19 Sa dihang magkaduol na kamo sa atbang sa katawhan sa Amon, ayaw sila samoka o pakig away kanila; kay dili ko ihatag kaninyo ang bisan asa nga yuta sa katawhan sa Amon ingon nga mapanag-iya; tungod kay gihatag ko kini sa kaliwat ni Lot ingon nga mapanag-iya”'
so wilt thou draw near over against the sons of Ammon, do not thou besiege them neither engage in strife with them, —for I will not give of the land of the sons of Ammon unto thee as a possession, for unto the sons of Lot, have I given it as a possession.
20 (Nailhan usab kini nga yuta sa Refaim. Ang Refaim nagpuyo usab kaniadto didto, apan gitawag sila sa mga Amonihanon nga Zamzumim,
A land of giants, used, that also, to be accounted, —giants, dwelt therein aforetime, but the Ammonites, called them Zamzummim:
21 katawhan nga bantogan, daghan, ug sama katag-as sa Anakim. Apan gilaglag sila ni Yahweh atubangan sa mga Amonihanon, ug gibuntog nila sila ug mipuyo sa ilang dapit.
a people great and many and tall, like the Anakim, —but Yahweh destroyed them from before them, and they took their possessions, and dwelt in their stead:
22 Mao usab kini ang gibuhat ni Yahweh alang sa katawhan ni Esau, nga nagpuyo sa Seir, sa dihang gibuntog niya ang mga Horihanon sa atubangan kanila, ug ang kaliwatan ni Esau nanag-iya kanila ug mipuyo sa ilang dapit bisan hangtod karon.
as he did for the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, —when he destroyed the Horim from before them, and they took their possessions and have dwelt in their stead, even unto this day.
23 Ug ang Avihanon nga nagpuyo sa mga baryo hangtod sa Gaza— ang Caftorim, migula ang Caftor, gilaglag sila ug mipuyo sa ilang dapit.)
The Avvim also, who dwelt in settlements as far as Gaza, Caphtorim, who were coming forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.
24 “'Karon barog ug padayon sa inyong panaw, ug latas ngadto sa walog sa Arnon; tan-awa, gihatag ko sa inyong mga kamot si Sihon ang Amorihanon, hari sa Heshbon, ug ang iyang yuta. Sugdi ang pagpanag-iya niini, ug pakig-away kaniya pinaagi sa gubat.
Arise ye, set forward and cross over the ravine of Arnon, see! I have given into thy hand—Sihon king of Heshbon, the Amorite and his land, begin—take possession, —and engage in strife with him in battle.
25 Karon himoon ko nga mahadlok ug malisang kaninyo ang katawhan nga anaa sa ubos sa kalangitan; makadungog sila sa mga balita mahitungod kaninyo ug mangurog ug maguol tungod kaninyo.'
This day, will I begin to extend the dread of thee and the fear of thee over the face of the peoples under all the heavens, —who will hear the report of thee, then will they quake and writhe in pain because of thee.
26 Nagpadala ako ug mga mensahero gikan sa kamingawan sa Kedemoth ngadto kang Sihon, ang hari sa Heshbon, uban ang mga pulong sa kalinaw, nga nag-ingon,
So I sent messengers out of the desert of Kademoth, unto Sihon, king of Heshbon, —with words of peace saying:
27 'Paagiha kami sa imong yuta; mosubay lamang ako sa dalan; dili ako motipas sa tuo o sa wala.
I would pass along through thy land, by the road, by the road, will I go, —I will not turn aside, to the right hand or to the left:
28 Makabaligya ka kanako ug pagkaon baylo sa salapi, aron makakaon ako; hatagi akog tubig baylo sa salapi, aron makainom ako; paagia lamang ako pinaagi sa akong tiil;
Food for silver, shalt thou sell me so will I eat, and water for silver, shalt thou let me have, so will I drink, —only I would pass through on my feet; —
29 sama sa gibuhat alang kanako sa kaliwatan ni Esau nga nagpuyo sa Seir, ug sama sa Moabihanon nga nagpuyo sa Ar; hangtod nga nakatabok ako sa Jordan paingon sa yuta nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga among Dios alang kanamo.'
as the sons of Esau, who are dwelling in Seir, did to me, and the Moabites who are dwelling in Ar, —until that I pass over the Jordan, into the land which, Yahweh our God, is giving unto us.
30 Apan si Sihon ang hari sa Heshbon, midumili sa pagpaagi kaniya; kay si Yahweh nga inyong Dios gipatig-a ang iyang hunahuna ug gipatig-a ang iyang kasingkasing, aron mabuntog niya siya pinaagi sa inyong kusog, nga diin iyang gibuhat karon.
But Sihon king of Heshbon, was not willing, to let us pass along through it, —for Yahweh thy God had suffered him to make his spirit harsh and his heart bold, that he might give him into thy hand—(as [appeareth] this day).
31 Mingon si Yahweh kanako, 'Tan-awa, gisugdan ko na ang pagtugyan kang Sihon ug ang iyang yuta diha kaninyo; sugdi na ang pag-angkon niini, aron nga mapanag-iya ninyo ang iyang yuta.'
Then said Yahweh unto me, See! I have begun to deliver up before thee Sihon and his land, —begin take possession, that thou mayest make a possession of his land.
32 Unya si Sihon misugat batok kanato, siya ug ang tanan niyang katawhan, aron makig-away didto sa Jahaz.
So then Sihon came out to meet us he, and all his people, to give battle at Jahaz.
33 Gitugyan siya ni Yahweh nga atong Dios kanato ug nabuntog nato siya; gipatay nato siya, ang iyang mga anak nga lalaki, ug ang tanan niyang katawhan.
And Yahweh our God delivered him up before us, —and we smote him and his sons, and all his people
34 Giilog nato ang tanan sa iyang mga siyudad nianang higayona ug gilaglag ang tanang siyudad sa hingpit—mga lalaki ug ang mga babaye ug ang kabataan; wala kitay gibilin.
And we captured all his cities, at that time, and devoted to destruction every city of males, with the women and the little ones, —we left not remaining a survivor:
35 Ang mga baka lamang ang atong gikuha alang kanato, uban sa mga siyudad nga atong giilog.
only the cattle, made we our prey, —and the spoil of the cities which we captured.
36 Gikan sa Aroer, diha sa daplin sa walog sa Arnon, ug gikan sa siyudad nga anaa sa walog, hangtod sa Gilead, walay siyudad nga lig-on alang kanato. Gihatagan kita ni Yahweh nga atong Dios ug kadaogan sa tanang natong mga kaaway.
From Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon and the city that is in the ravine even as far as Gilead, there was not a fortress that proved too high for us, —the whole, did Yahweh our God deliver up before us.
37 Ang yuta lamang sa kaliwatan ni Amon ang wala ninyo maadto, ang tanang bahin sa sa Suba sa Jabbok, ug ang tanang siyudad sa kabungtoran—bisan asa nga gidili ni Yahweh kanato nga adtoan.
Only unto the land of the sons of Ammon, didst thou not come near, —all the side of the Jabbok ravine, nor the cities of the hill country, nor any which Yahweh our God had forbidden to us.
