Deuteronomio 19
1 Sa dihang si Yahweh nga inyong Dios magwagtang sa mga kanasoran, niadtong mga yuta nga ihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo, ug sa dihang moabot kamo puli kanila ug mopuyo sa ilang mga siyudad ug mga balay,
When the Lord thy God shall have cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou hast driven them out, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses:
2 magpili kamo ug tulo ka mga siyudad alang sa inyong kaugalingon sa tungatunga sa inyong yuta nga gihatag kaninyo ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios nga panag-iyahon.
Then shalt thou set apart three cities for thyself, in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.
3 Magbuhat kamo ug dalan ug bahinon ang utlanan sa inyong yuta sa tulo ka mga bahin, ang yuta nga ihatag kaninyo ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios nga panag-iyahon, aron ang tanan nga makapatay ug laing tawo mokalagiw paingon didto.
Thou shalt put in order for thyself the [way to them], and divide into three parts the territory of thy land, which the Lord thy God will give thee to inherit, and it shall serve, that every man-slayer may flee thither.
4 Mao kini ang balaod alang sa usa ka nakapatay ug tawo ug sa tawo nga mikalagiw didto aron mabuhi: bisan si kinsa nga nakapatay sa iyang isigkatawo nga wala gituyo, ug walay kasuko kaniya kaniadto -
And this is the case of the man-slayer, who shall flee thither, that he may live: Whoso smiteth his neighbor without knowledge, when he hath not been an enemy to him in time past;
5 ingon nga sa dihang ang usa ka tawo miadto sa kalasangan uban sa iyang isigkatawo aron mamutol ug kahoy, sa dihang giatsa na niya ang kahoy aron putlon kini, ug ang tumoy niini nahuslo ug naigo ang iyang isigkatawo mao nga namatay siya- kadtong tawhana mokalagiw paingon sa usa niining mga siyudara ug mabuhi.
And he that goeth into the forest with his neighbor to hew wood, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the iron slippeth from the helve, and striketh his neighbor, that he die: this one shall flee unto one of these cities, and live;
6 Kondili, ang tawong manimalos alang sa dugo mahimong mangita niadtong mikuha sa kinabuhi, ug sa kainit sa iyang kasuko maabtan siya tungod kay kini usa ka layo nga panaw. Ug patyon niya siya, bisan dili angay mamatay kadtong tawhana; ug dili angayan sa kamatayon tungod wala siyay kasuko sa iyang isigkatawo sa wala pa kini nahitabo.
That the avenger of the blood pursue not the manslayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and smite him dead; whereas he deserveth not a judgment of death, inasmuch as he was not an enemy to him in time past.
7 Busa, gimandoan ko kamo nga magpili ug tulo ka mga siyudad alang kaninyo.
Therefore do I command thee, saying, Three cities shalt thou set apart for thyself.
8 Kung si Yahweh nga inyong Dios magapadako sa inyong mga ginsakopan, nanumpa siya sama sa iyang gipanumpa nga buhaton ngadto sa inyong katigulangan, ug magahatag kaninyo sa tanang yuta nga iyang gisaad nga ihatag sa inyong mga katigulangan;
And if the Lord thy God enlarge thy boundary, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, and give thee all the land which he hath spoken to give unto thy fathers;
9 kung tumanon ninyo kining tanan nga mga kasugoan, nga akong gisugo kaninyo karon - ang mga sugo nga higugmaon si Yahweh nga inyong Dios ug kanunay nga magalakaw sa iyang mga dalan, busa angay kamo nga magdugang ug tulo pa ka mga siyudad alang sa inyong kaugalingon, gawas niining tulo.
Because thou dost keep all this commandment to do it, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk in his ways all the days: then shalt thou add for thyself three cities more, unto these three;
10 Buhata kini aron walay motulo nga dugo nga dili sad-an taliwala sa yuta nga gihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo ingon nga panulondon, aron walay sala sa dugo diha kaninyo.
That innocent blood be not shed in the midst of thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and blood-guiltiness be brought upon thee.
11 Apan kung adunay tawo nga nagdumot sa iyang isigkatawo, maga-atang kaniya, magatindog batok kaniya, ug samaran siya aron mamatay siya, ug unya kung mokalagiw siya paingon ngadto sa usa niining mga siyudara—
But if any man be an enemy to his neighbor, and he lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally so that he die, and he flee unto one of these cities:
12 busa, ang katigulangan kinahanglan magdala ug magakuha kaniya gikan didto, ug itugyan siya sa kamot sa masaligan nga paryenti, aron mamatay siya.
Then shall the elders of his city send and fetch him thence, and they shall deliver him into the hand of the avenger of the blood, that he may die.
13 Dili angay nga maluoy ang inyong mata kaniya; kondili, kinahanglan ninyong wagtangon ang sad-an sa dugo gikan sa Israel, nga mahimo kining maayo alang kaninyo.
Thy eye shall not look with pity on him; but thou shalt put away the [shedding of] innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.
14 Dili ninyo angay ibalhin ang muhon sa inyong silingan nga ilang gibutang sa dugay na nga panahon, sa inyong mga panulondon nga inyong mapanunod, sa yuta nga gihatag ni Yahweh nga inyong Dios kaninyo aron panag-iyahon.
Thou shalt not remove the landmark of thy neighbor, which they of old time have set, in thy inheritance which thou shalt inherit, in the land that the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it.
15 Ang usa ka bugtong saksi dili angay magatindog batok sa tawo alang sa bisan unsang kasal-anan, o sa mga nabuhat nga sayop, ni sa unsang matang nga siya nakasala; sa baba sa duha ka mga saksi, o sa baba sa tulo ka mga saksi, kinahanglan ang bisan unsang butang angay pamatud-an.
There shall not rise up one single witness against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: upon the evidence of two witnesses, or upon the evidence of three witnesses, must a case be established.
16 Pananglitan ang usa ka dili matarong nga saksi motindog batok sa bisan kinsang tawo aron sa pagsaksi batok kaniya sa mga daotang binuhatan.
If a witness of violence rise up against any man to testify against him for any wrong:
17 Kinahanglan nga ang duha ka mga tawo, ang mga tawo taliwala niadtong gihisgotan angay motindog sa atubangan ni Yahweh, sa atubangan sa mga pari ug mga maghuhukom nga nag-alagad niadtong mga panahona.
Then shall both the men, who have the controversy, stand before the Lord, before the priests and the judges, who shall be in those days;
18 Ang mga maghuhukom kinahanglan maghimo ug matukion nga mga pangutana; tan-awa, kung ang saksi usa ka bakakon nga saksi ug nagpamatuod sa bakak batok sa iyang igsoon,
And the judges shall inquire diligently; and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, he hath testified a falsehood against his brother:
19 kinahanglan buhaton nimo kaniya, ang iyang pangandoy nga buhaton niya sa iyang igsoon, ug walaon ninyo ang daotan gikan kaninyo.
Then shall ye do unto him, as he had purposed to do unto his brother; and thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee.
20 Unya kadtong nagpabilin makadungog ug mahadlok, ug gikan dinhi dili na magbuhat pag-usab ug daotan taliwala kaninyo.
And those who remain shall hear, and be afraid, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil thing in the midst of thee.
21 Dili angay maluoy ang inyong mga mata; ang kinabuhi magbayad ug kinabuhi, mata sa mata, ngipon sa ngipon, kamot sa kamot, tiil sa tiil.
And thy eye shall have no pity; but life [shall go] for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
