1 Karon adunay usa ka tawo sa siyudad sa Cesarea, nga Cornelio ang ngalan, ang senturyon sa gitawag nga Italyanhong batalyon.
There was a certain man in Cæsarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian [band],
2 Siya usa ka matinud-anon nga tawo, usa nga nagsimba sa Dios uban ang tanan nga anaa sa iyang panimalay; nagahatag siya ug daghang salapi alang sa Judio nga katawhan ug kanunay nag-ampo sa Dios.
[A] devout [man], and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 Sa ikasiyam nga takna sa adlaw, dayag nga iyang nakita sa usa ka panan-awon ang anghel sa Dios nga mipaduol kaniya. Ang anghel miingon kaniya, “Cornelio!”
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 Si Cornelio mitutok sa anghel ug nalisang pag-ayo ug siya miingon, “Unsa man, sir?” Ang anghel miingon kaniya, “Ang imong mga pag-ampo ug mga gasa sa mga kabos mipataas nga halad handomanan sa presensya sa Dios.
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 Karon pagpadala ug mga lalaki sa siyudad sa Jopa aron kuhaon ang tawo nga gingalan ug Simon, nga ginganlan usab ug Pedro.
And now send men to Joppa, and call for [one] Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 Siya nagpuyo kauban ang magtatabas ug panit sa hayop nga gingalan ug Simon, kinsang balay anaa sa baybayon.”
He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 Sa dihang ang anghel nga nakigsulti kaniya mibiya, gitawag ni Cornelio ang duha niya ka mga sulugoon sa balay, ug ang sundalo nga nagsimba sa Dios gikan sa maong kasundalohan nga nag-alagad usab kaniya.
And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 Si Cornelio miingon kanila sa tanan nga nahitabo ug gipaadto sila sa Jopa.
And when he had declared all [these] things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
9 Karon sa sunod nga adlaw mga ikaunom nga takna, sa dihang anaa sila sa ilang panaw ug nagkaduol na sa siyudad, si Pedro miadto sa taas sa balay aron sa pag-ampo.
On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:
10 Unya siya gigutom ug buot mokaon, apan samtang ang mga tawo nagluto sa pagkaon, nakatagpilaw siya;
And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 ug nakita niya ang langit nga naabli, ug naay sudlanan nga mipakanaog, sama sa dakong panapton nga nagpadulong sa yuta, nga gitunton sa upat niini ka mga suok.
And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Niini adunay tanang matang sa upat ug tiil nga mga mananap ug mga butang nga nagakamang sa yuta, ug mga langgam sa kalangitan.
Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 Unya usa ka tingog ang miingon kaniya: “Tindog, Pedro, patya ug kaon.”
And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 Apan si Pedro miingon, “Dili Ginoo; kay ako wala makakaon ug bisan unsa nga mahugaw ug dili limpyo.”
But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 Apan ang tingog miabot kaniya pag-usab sa ikaduhang higayon: “Kung unsay gilimpyohan sa Dios, ayaw kini tawga nga mahugaw.”
And the voice [spake] unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, [that] call not thou common.
16 Kini nahitabo sa makatulo ka higayon; unya ang sudlanan dihadiha gikuha pabalik sa langit.
This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.
17 Karon samtang si Pedro nalibog pag-ayo mahitungod kung unsa ang ipasabot sa panan-awon nga iyang nakita, tan-awa, ang mga lalaki nga gipadala ni Cornelio mitindog atubangan sa ganghaan, paghuman nila ug pangutana sa dalan padulong sa balay.
Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
18 Ug sila nanawag ug nangutana kung si Simon, nga ginganlan usab ug Pedro, nagpuyo didto.
And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.
19 Samtang naghunahuna si Pedro mahitungod sa panan-awon, ang Espiritu miingon kaniya, “Tan-awa, tulo ka mga lalaki ang nangita kanimo.
While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
20 Tindog ug adto sa ubos ug lakaw uban kanila. Ayaw kahadlok sa pag-uban, tungod kay ako nagpadala kanila.”
Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.
21 Busa si Pedro mikanaog ug miadto sa mga lalaki ug miingon, “Siya nga inyong gipangita mao ako. Nganong mianhi kamo?”
Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what [is] the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 Miingon sila, “Ang kapitan nga ginganlan ug Cornelio, matarong nga tawo ug usa nga nagsimba sa Dios, ug gitahod sa tanang nasod sa mga Judio, giingnan sa balaang anghel sa Dios sa pagkuha kanimo aron moadto sa iyang balay, aron makapaminaw siya sa mensahe gikan kanimo.”
And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
23 Busa gidapit sila ni Pedro nga mosulod ug magpabilin uban kaniya ug sa mga tawo nga kauban niya. Sa pagkasunod buntag siya mibangon ug mikuyog kanila, ug ang pipila sa mga kaigsoonan nga gikan sa Jopa mikuyog kaniya.
Then called he them in, and lodged [them]. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
24 Sa pagkasunod nga adlaw sila miabot sa Cesarea. Si Cornelio naghulat kanila; gitawag niya ang iyang mga paryenti ug suod nga mga higala.
And the morrow after they entered into Cæsarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
25 Nahitabo kini nga sa dihang si Pedro misulod, si Cornelio mihimamat kaniya ug miluhod sa iyang tiilan aron sa pagpasidungog kaniya.
And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped [him].
26 Apan gipatindog siya ni Pedro ug miingon, “Tindog; ako usab usa lamang ka tawo.”
But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
27 Samtang si Pedro nakigsulti kaniya, misulod siya ug nakita niya ang daghang tawo nga nagtigom.
And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
28 Miingon siya kanila, “Kamo sa inyong kaugalingon nasayod nga dili uyon sa balaod alang sa mga Judio nga tawo ang makig-uban o mobisita sa usa nga gikan sa laing nasod. Apan gipakita sa Dios kanako nga dili nako kinahanglan tawgon ang bisan kinsa nga tawo nga mahugaw o dili limpyo.
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 Mao nga mianhi ako sa walay pakiglalis, sa dihang ako gipaanhi. Busa mangutana ako kanimo nganong gipakuha mo man ako.”
Therefore came I [unto you] without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
30 Miingon si Cornelio, “Upat ka adlaw ang milabay sa sama niining taknaa, ako nag-ampo dinhi sa akong balay sa ika-siyam ang takna; ug nakakita ug tawo nga mitindog sa akong atubangan sa hayag nga bisti.
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 Siya miingon, 'Cornelio, ang imong pag-ampo nadungog sa Dios, ug ang imong mga gasa alang sa mga kabos nagpahinumdom sa Dios mahitungod kanimo.
And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
32 Busa pagpadala ug tawo sa Jopa, ug pangitaa ang tawo nga ginganlan ug Simon, nga usab ginatawag ug Pedro. Nagpuyo siya sa balay sa magtatabas ug panit sa hayop nga ginganlan ug Simon, diha sa baybayon.' Pipila ka karaan nga mga sinulat midugang: Kung siya moabot, siya mosulti kanimo.
Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of [one] Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
33 Busa sa walay langan ako nagpakuha kanimo. Buotan ka kay ikaw mianhi. Unya karon, ania kitang tanan dinhi sa panan-aw sa Dios, aron sa pagpaminaw sa tanan nga gitudlo kanimo sa Ginoo nga isulti.” Pipila ka karaan nga mga sinulat midugang: Gitudlo sa Dios nga isulti.
Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.
34 Unya gibuka ni Pedro ang iyang baba ug miingon, “Sa pagkatinuod, akong naila nga ang Dios dili modapig ni bisan kinsa.
Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 Hinuon, sa matag nasod si bisan kinsa nga mosimba ug mobuhat ug matarong nga binuhatan madawat diha kaniya.
But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 Kamo nasayod sa mensahe nga iyang gipadala ngadto sa mga tawo sa Israel, sa dihang iyang gipahibalo ang maayong balita mahitungod sa kalinaw pinaagi kang Jesu-Cristo, nga maoy Ginoo sa tanan -
The word which [God] sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all: )
37 kamo mismo nasayod sa mga panghitabo nga nagakahitabo, nga nahitabo sa tibuok Judea, sugod sa Galilea, pagkahuman sa bawtismo nga gipahibalo ni Juan;
That word, [I say], ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 ang mga panghitabo mahitungod kang Jesus nga taga-Nasaret, kung giunsa sa Dios pagdihog kaniya sa Balaang Espiritu ug sa gahom. Siya mianhi nga nagbuhat ug maayo ug nag-ayo sa tanan nga gidaogdaog sa yawa, tungod kay ang Dios uban kaniya.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
39 Kami ang mga saksi niining mga butang nga iyang gibuhat didto sa nasod sa mga Judio ug sa Jerusalem - kini nga Jesus kansang ilang gipatay, sa pagbitay sa kahoy.
And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
40 Kini nga tawo gibanhaw sa Dios sa ikatulo nga adlaw ug gihatagan siya aron mahimong mailhan,
Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 dili sa tanan nga mga tawo, apan sa mga saksi nga gipili nang daan sa Dios - kami mismo, nga mikaon ug miinom uban kaniya human siya nabanhaw gikan sa mga patay.
Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, [even] to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 Siya nagmando kanamo sa pagsangyaw sa mga tawo ug pagpamatuod nga kini mao ang usa nga gipili sa Dios nga mahimong Maghuhukom sa buhi ug sa patay.
And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God [to be] the Judge of quick and dead.
43 Tungod kaniya ang tanan nga mga propeta nahimong saksi, aron nga ang matag-usa nga motuo kaniya mamahimong makadawat sa kapasayloan sa mga sala pinaagi sa iyang ngalan.”
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
44 Samtang si Pedro nagsulti niining mga butanga, ang Balaang Espiritu mikunsad ngadto sa tanang naminaw sa iyang mensahe.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 Ang mga tawo nga apil sa tinuli nga pundok sa mga magtutuo - tanan nga miuban kang Pedro - nahibulong, tungod kay ang gasa sa Balaang Espiritu gibubo usab sa mga Gentil.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 Kay sila nakadungog niining mga Gentil nga nagsulti sa uban nga mga pinulongan ug nagdayeg sa Dios. Unya si Pedro mitubag,
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 “Aduna bay makapugong sa tubig gikan niining mga tawhana aron sila dili mabawtismohan, kining mga tawhana nga nakadawat sa Balaang Espiritu ingon nga sama kanato?”
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 Unya siya nagmando kanila nga magpabawtismo pinaagi sa ngalan ni Jesu-Cristo. Unya naghangyo sila kaniya nga magpabilin uban kanila sa pipila ka mga adlaw.
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
