2 Timoteo 2
1 Busa ikaw, akong anak, magpalig-on ka sa grasya nga anaa kang Cristo Jesus.
Thou therefore, my sonne, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Iesus.
2 Ug ang mga butang nga nadunggan nimo gikan kanako taliwala sa daghang mga saksi, isalig nimo sa matinud-anon nga mga tawo, nga maoy makatudlo sad sa uban.
And what things thou hast heard of me, by many witnesses, ye same deliuer to faithfull men, which shalbe able to teache other also.
3 Mag-antos ka sa kalisod uban nako, ingon nga usa ka maayong sundalo ni Cristo Jesus.
Thou therefore suffer affliction as a good souldier of Iesus Christ.
4 Walay sundalo nga nag-alagad samtang nagpalambigit sa mga kalihokan niining kinabuhi, aron nga iyang mapahimuot ang iyang taas nga opisyal.
No man that warreth, entangleth himselfe with the affaires of this life, because he woulde please him that hath chosen him to be a souldier.
5 Usa sad, kung adunay tawo nga makigkompetensiya ingon nga atleta, dili siya makoronahan gawas kung makigkompetensiya siya sumala sa mga balaod.
And if any man also striue for a Masterie, he is not crowned, except he striue as he ought to doe.
6 Ang kugihan nga mag-uuma maoy una nga makadawat sa iyang bahin sa abot.
The husbandman must labour before he receiue the fruites.
7 Hunahunaa ang akong gisulti, kay ang Ginoo ang maghatag kanimo ug pagsabot sa tanan.
Consider what I say: and the Lord giue thee vnderstanding in all things:
8 Hinumdumi si Jesu Cristo, nga gikan sa kaliwat ni David, nga gibanhaw gikan sa kamatayon, sumala sa akong mensahe nga maayong balita,
Remember that Iesus Christ, made of the seede of Dauid, was raysed againe from the dead according to my Gospel,
9 sa diin nag-antos ako hangtod sa gikadenahan ingon nga kriminal. Apan ang pulong sa Dios wala gyud makadenahan.
Wherein I suffer trouble as an euill doer, euen vnto bondes: but the worde of God is not bounde.
10 Busa naglahutay ako sa tanan alang adtong nga mga pinili, aron hinaut sila sad makabaton sa kaluwasan nga anaa kang Cristo Jesus, uban sa walay katapusang himaya. (aiōnios g166)
Therefore I suffer all things, for the elects sake, that they might also obtaine the saluation which is in Christ Iesus, with eternall glorie. (aiōnios g166)
11 Masaligan kini nga panultihon: “Kung kita namatay uban kaniya, mabuhi usab kita uban kaniya.
It is a true saying, For if we be dead together with him, we also shall liue together with him.
12 Kung kita molahutay, maghari usab kita uban kaniya. Kung ato siyang ilimod, ilimod sad kita niya.
If we suffer, we shall also reigne together with him: if we denie him, he also will denie vs.
13 Kung kita dili matinud-anon, magpabilin siya nga matinud-anon, kay dili niya malimod ang iyang kaugalingon.”
If we beleeue not, yet abideth he faithfull: he cannot denie himselfe.
14 Ipadayon nimo ang pagpahinumdom kanila niining mga butanga. Pasidan-i sila atubangan sa Dios nga dili sila makig-away mahitungod sa mga pulong, tungod kay ang pagbuhat niini walay kapuslanan, gadaot sa mga maminaw niini.
Of these things put them in remembrance, and protest before the Lord, that they striue not about wordes, which is to no profit, but to the peruerting of the hearers.
15 Paningkamuti pag-ayo nga mapakita nimo imong kaugalingon ingon nga giuyonan sa Dios nga nagtrabaho nga walay ikaulaw, nga sakto ang paggamit sa pulong sa kamatuoran.
Studie to shewe thy selfe approued vnto God, a workeman that needeth not to be ashamed, diuiding the worde of trueth aright.
16 Likayi ang malaw-ay nga panultihon, nga magdala sa samot nga pagkinabuhi nga dili diosnon.
Stay prophane, and vaine babblings: for they shall encrease vnto more vngodlinesse.
17 Ang ilang pulong mokaylap sama sa kabahong, uban niini sila Himeneo ug Felito,
And their worde shall fret as a canker: of which sort is Hymeneus and Philetus,
18 mga lalaki nga nasalaag gikan sa kamatuoran, nga nag-ingon nga nahitabo na ang pagkabanhaw, ug gilibog nila ang pagtuo sa uban.
Which as concerning ye trueth haue erred from the marke, saying that the resurrection is past alreadie, and do destroy the faith of certaine.
19 Bisan pa niini, gatindog ang lig-on nga pundasyon sa Dios nga aduna niining kinudlit, “Nakahibalo ang Ginoo kinsa ang iya,” ug “Ang tanan nga nagsangpit sa ngalan sa Ginoo kinahanglan mobiya sa dili pagkamatarong.”
But the foundation of God remaineth sure, and hath this seale, The Lord knoweth who are his: and, Let euery one that calleth on the Name of Christ, depart from iniquitie.
20 Sa dato nga panimalay, dili lamang mga bulawan ug plata ang mga galamiton, apan aduna sad gikan sa kahoy ug pula nga yuta; ang uban alang sa halangdong paggamit ug ang uban sa dili halangdon.
Notwithstanding in a great house are not onely vessels of gold and of siluer, but also of wood and of earth, and some for honour, and some vnto dishonour.
21 Kung manghinlo ang usa ka tawo sa iyang kaugalingon gikan sa dili halangdon nga paggamit, mahimo siya nga halangdon nga galamiton, gigahin, mapuslanon sa Amo, ug andam siya sa tanang maayo nga buluhaton.
If any man therefore purge him selfe from these, he shalbe a vessell vnto honour, sanctified, and meete for the Lord, and prepared vnto euery good worke.
22 Magpalayo ka sa lawasnong kaibog sa mga batan-on, ug tinguhaa ang pagkamatarong, pagtuo, gugma, kalinaw, uban kanila nga nagtawag sa Ginoo gikan sa putli nga kasingkasing.
Flee also from the lustes of youth, and follow after righteousnes, faith, loue, and peace, with them that call on the Lord with pure heart,
23 Apan balibari ang binuang ug ignoranti nga mga pangutana, kay nasayod ka nga kini maoy hinungdan sa mga lalis.
And put away foolish and vnlearned questions, knowing that they ingender strife.
24 Kinahanglan ang alagad sa Ginoo dili mangaway, apan hinuon kinahanglan malumo siya sa tanan, kahibalo magtudlo, mapailubon,
But the seruant of ye Lord must not striue, but must be gentle toward all men, apt to teache, suffering the euill,
25 adunay kaaghup nga magtudlo adtong mga mosupak kaniya. Basin pa ang Dios maghatag kanila ug paghinulsol sa diin masayod sila sa kamatuoran,
Instructing them with meekenesse that are contrary minded, prouing if God at any time will giue them repentance, that they may acknowledge the trueth,
26 ug unta mabalik kanila ang maayong panghunahuna aron makaikyas sila sa lit-ag sa yawa, kay sila nadakpan niya alang sa iyang kabubut-on.
And come to amendment out of that snare of the deuil, of whom they are taken prisoners, to doe his will.
